just tried to update only the pda portion and confirmed it is working dxhc4. mouse drivers updated, however unable to perform hard reset. unsure whether hard reset might be embedded in the eboot portion.

When I run mirage v1.8 and I click on pda button and I navigate to i780_DXHC4_Rev12.img the program doesnt see it. Should I decompress the img file or similar?

You must not click pda button but eboot+pda+phone button.

when you should have a 780 which is in language Dutch (OS) and you want to have the hard reset function and these bugs fixed, but want to keep your own language wm6.. is it possible to only flash the E-boot and PDA with holding on to my own Dutch based WM6 os ?
Or it doesnt work like this?

I generally connect the device when it's off. Then I turn it on normally and Mirage automatically starts flashing.
Does this mean you flashed your device twice? Once for eboot and once for the pda part alone?
Can you please explain in a little more detail how you did it? thanks..

you mean you did a wipe/factory reset from recovery?
if so, i guess you have to reflash with odin. you could use adb to connect to the phone from recovery and try to fix the problem manually but i guess thats no an option for you ... reflash is the fastest method to get your phone running again ...

read flash firmware using odin. i recommend one of the jmX firmwares. the newest of them being WXJM7
thanks a lot for the help, i will never forget you. i was scared of losing the warranty and not solving this issue. if i am right, the method will work because i didnt know that you can make an entrance to the system. i checked the download mode and it works, i am now stuck with my pc until i repair it and on the firmware. 2 questions: 1. if the drivers of the sgs are installed, do i need to remove kies and reinstall it or something like that? and 2. if i did the factory reset, was the internal sd card formatted? thanks a lot again.

1)Hi there. There is no need to uninstall/reinstall kies, in fact u do not have to open it to be able to use odin. You can view this video tutorial first part and second part for illustration purposes. If you are unable to connect to odin you can open kies and reinstall your drivers with it.
2) As far as I know when you do a factory reset only your system reserved partition of your internal sdcard is formatted. The rest of your data in /SDCARD will remain untouched.

theoretically you WILL loose your warranty when you use odin to flash a firmware, in reality the will never find out as long as you don't brick it during flashing...if you want to be 100% on the save side (regarding the warranty) you can also flash the original firmware (JF3 for me) back. personally i would not worry about that ...

as i wrote above i recommend a JMX one (JM6 or JM7) as they are really stable. i use JPC (android 2.2) which works well for me but there are people reporting serious problems like locked phones and overwritten IMEI's. therefore i wouldn't recommend this for unexperienced people...
i don't want to worry you but there are people who managed to brick their phones with odin. it's very very unlikely if you follow the instructions precisely. just that you know ... read the howto's carefully before proceeding!

i agree but desperate people don't care about forum-rules which is why we have so many threads like this in the dev section. i guess the only way to solve this would be if an admin/mod would manually move them
i will consider this and i understand that it has some risk, but i think this is my only chance. also, i hope the 0.05 percent chance of a major electricity fail will not ruine my phone. for clarifying: is this reflash like the windows reinstalation with different update packs? if the process will be done completely, is there a chance for the black screen will be still there? i am a little nervous, not scared as the first time, but if the process dont work, is there any chance to repair it through samsung with some costs?

Hey there buddy.
I can see that you are really concerned about messing things up. But really, don't worry. It has some down falls, but flashing with Odin is might safe. And as was earlier recommended, you can try flashing to either JM6 or JM7. Both are very stable releases. Here are a couple of links, one for the JM6 and the other for JM7. Trust me when I say this, IT WILL BE ALL RIGHT.....

No problem. Will try and walk you through this.
After you have downloaded either of the JM6 or the JM7, and you have extracted the files, you will see the PDA and the modem files. You will also have to download the relevant CSC file that is specific to your region. Also, make sure that Odin and the PIT files have been downloaded.
Let me give you simple steps to work your way through.
1. Make sure Samsung Kies is NOT RUNNING including in the notification area.
2. Disconnect your phone and switch it off.
3. Start Odin
4. Make sure the three options, "Re-Partition", "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are TICKED
5. Click on the "PIT" button and select the "s1_odin_20100512" file you downloaded.
6. Put your phone into download mode by using the key combination: POWER DOWN + HOME KEY + POWER KEY. When you see the yellow triangle, release all buttons.
7. Connect your phone and wait for the drivers to get installed.
8. Click on the "Start" button and wait for the process to finish. This will be indicated by the words "PASS" with a green background. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE TILL YOU SEE THE WORDS "PASS"
9. Remove the battery and put the phone into download mode again. (Step 6)
10. In Odin, click the "Reset" button and UNCHECK the "Re-Partition" option and keep the remaining two options CHECKED.
11. Click the "PDA" button and select the file starting with "CODE"
12. Click the "PHONE" button and select the file starting with "MODEM"
13. Click the "CSC" button and select the CSC file which you have chosen. (NOTE: You will have to extract the file from the CSC package you have downloaded and not the actual archive)
14. Connect the phone
15. Click on the "START" button and wait till Odin finishes its process. Again, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE TILL ODIN DISPLAYS THE "PASS" MESSAGE!!!!
16. If you are using Multi CSC, follow the instructions from any of the posts for JM6 and JM7: "When using *Multi CSC* you need to type *#272*????# after the flash (in dialer). ???? being the current time displayed by phone. For example if the time is currently 6.25pm you need to type *#272*0625#. Then select the desired CSC version from the list and press "Install"."
You should be fine once these steps are done. They might seem very difficult at first glance, but they really aren't. If you still feel concerned about the process, I would suggest reading the entire post again just to familiarize yourself with the process. I was trembling the first time I did this and it turned out perfectly all right in the end. I am sure it will be the same for you.

Hello again community. I am writing now from my SGS. Wonder how? (I did not the reflash) I don't know, the phone just booted up this morning. I have no idea how but now I will try to not reboot my phone. I think the logo is broken and the factory reset worked.
I still have the MCR app, but the Quadrant scores around 870, so I am no longer rooted.
Thanks all, I surely will need your help sometime... I consider the rooting now not so scary because I understanded that I can not break my phone completely. I will update to Froyo when it will be official and I hope the problem is not any longer in my phone.

Edit: I found a folder in the internal sdcard named ase that has 2 subfolders. In «resources» folder there are 2 files: playlogos1 which is 0 kilos large and userinit.sh, also with 0 kilos. If I am right this is the reason which stopped my phone to boot. What to do with them?

So I am finally in front of my PC, but I don't know if when I will reboot my phone it will work. I have the superuser/MCR and the scripts still in my phone and I don't know what to do. I don't really understand why the playlogo1 and userinit.sh files have 0 kB and they are on my sdcard. I think they have something to do with this.That's why I am afraid of rebooting it... but sometime I will need it and I hope I will not have the problem. Also, if I will reflash my phone with JM6 or JM7, which lag fix do you recommend for me? (The phone sometimes really annoys me)

I get a note 2 gt-n7100 and i tried to root it with odin.
Now its stuck on download mode...i pull the battery,i flash custom recovery,did factory reset,pull out sd and sim,still nothing.
i do not know which filmware to flash because i cant get it to boot.

Unfortunately most people think this is their own personal tech support site (it isn't) so sometimes you will get selfish people like this who just come here to solve problem and dont give a sh1t about sharing solutions.
What have you done/tried so far? Have you tried flashing roms? What happened? etc etc. You need to be more detailed if you expect help.

Hi, sorry if I made you upset! I am new to rooting and tried yesterday to root my galaxy s3 and everything went just fine until i restarted it. Immediately after the "samsung galaxy gt-i9305" text it goes to a downloading screen just like that one in download mode but without the text in the upper left corner and does nothing tough it says downloading.
I have tried to:
-factory reset
-take out battery
-take out sim-card
-flash the same rom again
I have NOT tried to:
-Flash a stock rom (couldn´t find one from Finland) Could that help?
Cant think of anything else. I can still enter recovery mode and download mode.
Ps. I know that this isn´t a tech support site but judging from the guides i have seen so far (rooted my phone from a guide on this site) it seems like people here know what they are doing so I thought it would be best to ask here first.

Go here and get the required firmware and flash via Odin. There will also be a small guide on flashing the rom.

Just incase someone is wondering it is working now I downloaded a stock rom from sammobile and flashed it and it worked for me:laugh:
Ok everyone. here is the fix for those stuck at Samsung logo after 5.1.1 update thanks to this person "Tuandung.tran". I had to go to a Vietnamese site and download the file that took me 7 hours to download, I had a hard time translating the site since it was in Vietnamese, so now I want to contribute and help others by saving them time with straight forward tutorial on how to fix the problem that they have.
Ok so here it is:
1) download this file and extract it to your PC ==========> https://mega.nz/#!vIEEBQyT!U5AzPE4iR3b5yUzdZ6rAT3AFXyCLq__4qiFTfkBupp0
2) go to recovery and delete system files and cache
3) go to download mode
4) open Odin on your PC and click AP to add AP_G925TUVU2COF6.tar that you extracted earlier to your PC
5) with Odin still open add BL_G925TUVU2COF6.tar by clicking BL button
6) click start
7) After Odin is finished, it will reboot your phone. just wait a few minutes and you'll be all set.
If this actually works there's going to be a whole bunch of people in line wanting to give you a kiss.

Ok let me explain what happendes to me, somebody fixed imei too for me, i updated to 5.1.1 and i got stuck on samsung logo, tried everything and no solution. i tried this method and now i'm using my S6 edge again, and i didnt loose imei, this is my experience

my imei is clean and it show the same the guy who unlocked my device backed up my efs on my computer,im afraid i would be locked again,after you got stuck and got your phone back were you on 5.1.1 and unlocked or locked

Now you need a imei unlock method, its more expensive 45 us, but its better, because you use a official Tmobile unlock app; i think this people put your imei in the Tmobile data base and make your phone eligible to permanently unlock. send mp to @Sunderwear

Welcome to my first post, hope this can help many people :victory:.
Foreword
This is based on my own experimentation and I do not take responsibility for KG blocked phones or any other issue related to the topic of this post.
WARNING
Your Samsung MUST be OEM unlocked and you MUST have the firmware of the same country of your SIM to avoid blocking the KG and preventing the phone from booting and using the recovery.
STEPS
1. Open ODIN
2. Put your phone in DOWNLOAD mode either by holding volume up and down while connecting the USB-C port or booting into your system then using ADB with the command

ADB reboot download
.
3.Select the vb meta on the AP option and flash it.
4.Before flashing have in mind that you CANNOT let the phone boot normally after flashing, so be prepared to open the recovery using volume up+power button. Either deactivate the auto reboot option in ODIN or be fast with your fingers just don't let it boot into the system as this will cause Knox to restore the stock recovery and the progress will be lost.
5. Select the TWRP on AP and flash it.
5. In TWRP go to advanced and select the file manager then access the /data/knox/ folder.
6.Delete the /data/knox/ folder.
-Format data on TWRP
-flash magisk 20.4 (optional, not tested)
-flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip module (optional, not tested)
7.Boot into the system.
8.YOU DID IT! now you should be able to boot again into twrp if you turn off and press volume up+power button.

Your Samsung MUST be OEM unlocked and you MUST have the firmware of the same country of your SIM to avoid blocking the KG and preventing the phone from booting and using the recovery.
STEPS
1. Open ODIN
2. Put your phone in DOWNLOAD mode either by holding volume up and down while connecting the USB-C port or booting into your system then using ADB with the command

3.Select the TWRP on the AP option.
4.Before flashing have in mind that you CANNOT let the phone boot normally after flashing, so be prepared to open the recovery using volume up+power button. Either deactivate the auto reboot option in ODIN or be fast with your fingers just don't let it boot into the system as this will cause Knox to restore the stock recovery and the progress will be lost.
5. In TWRP go to advanced and select the file manager then access the /data/knox/ folder.
6.Delete the /data/knox/ folder.
7.Boot into the system.
8.YOU DID IT! now you should be able to boot again into twrp if you turn off and press volume up+power button.

Just delete the spaces between the link. They are there to not be detected as an actual link because I don't have enough posts to be let to post links but is super easy to just see the extra spaces I put and delete them.

Hi !!! So I performed these steps:
1_ installed the latest Italian firmware
2_I made the TWRP flash that you indicated to me
3_manual restart volume + and power button and it returns to me as well as in the photo that attached. Where am I wrong ???

From what I can infer, the problem is with an unpatched vbmeta. you need to flash the vbmeta in odin as well as TWRP on AP. Again can't really post the link so delete the spaces. https:// gofile. io/d/lHAKhY . The problem in theory should be solved.
Tell me how did it go when you're done so I can update the guide. Good luck!

These are steps to take to root:
1-install latest firmware
2-flash vbmeta with odin with AP
3-flash Revanth_twrp_m31.tar with odin with AP
4-restart in twrp (no normal)
5-delete data / knox folder
6-format data

do you know any way i can record calls with root and without root ???, i can't see the built in recorder in the phone app settings i think it doesn't work in my country, it's a very important feature for me, thank you bro !

Native, I believe only Indian software has incorporated call recorder but with root you have two apps. In magisk modules: Axet'Call Recorder free and Call Recorder-SKVALEX which is paid. Good luck !!!

Thanks, so i've tried call recorder-skvalex it worked but the battery consumption increased while screen off, removed it and back to normal, it's maybe because it's running in the background or something, so there isn't a way to make other call recorder apps like Cube Acr work with root or without by turning them to system apps for example, i've heard of that somewhere but can't find a tutorial or an explanation.

Hi !!! I can tell you that there is an application called Lucky_Patcher which is very likely to transform a normal application into a system application, on the net there are tutorials with all the explanations.
