I just got the Note 4 edge and set it up to use my contacts from my Outlook.com account. When I connect my car to the phone via Bluetooth it shows no contacts. Where are the contact list stored for the list used for bluetooth?
Should I sync the contacts I use with the phone? or the sim card? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have not found a answer anywhere.

Hi,
Is there a way to import contacts from my PC to the TP2 coz i had an iphone and all my contacts are stored on the PC and its going to be a pain to have to re-enter them all manually??
Also im not sure if any1 else has this problem but i bought mine sim free & in on Three(3) network but in some places in my home for e.g. my signal is very weak but when i had it in the iphone the signal was stronger is there anything i could do to the settings??
thanks in advance - im a total noob with this phone only had it for a few hours
I don't know about Iphone - I guess it syncs only to malware like itunes.?
Anyway, if it can sync to outlook - (which you got with WM6) - then there is no problem.
otherwise you can seand each one over bluetooth.

After that you boot to android and set up your google account. It should sync the contacts automatically.

worked for me
outlook
I syncronized them using activesync to outlook. exported tot a .csv.
imported the csv in GMAil, en sync-ed my kaiser android with that google account
Why do it easy when you can do it the hard way
I can copy the SIM contacts to phone, but i can't copy back to SIM card, any idea?
That's because android phones are supposed to sync with the cloud. Not the sim card.
Get yourself a google mail account, setup calendar online (google) then sync - look at their instructions for active sync.
Boot to androd and sync to google
works well as if like me you're running via haret then contacts and calendar stay in sync windows / android and my email too
shame it can't do tasks and sms
WHY? DO IT THE EASY WAY!!!
Go to contacts (android), press the windows button on your kaiser and select import-import from sim?
Sprite mobile
another easy way of doing that is using
sprite mobile

My question is... how do we sync pics from facebook to the contacts? I've imported/syncd all my contacts from facebook but it won't show pics for them :-(
DJHile, if you're using my build it should sync pics, I choose 'sync with existing contacts' and it shows the pics automatically.

Poly, I am indeed using your build and used the exact same sync option as you but unfortunately, I get nothing but the android silhouette :-\
I do have quite a few contacts but none of them have a picture.
EDIT: I'm a dummy. It won't sync if I'm not getting some sort of data connection or wi-fi connection which I wasn't when I posted this... Then I installed the wifi fix update, wifi is good and somehow it fixed my cellular data connection problem also... contacts are syncing now!
i used sprite migrate to transfer my contacts...allthough it did not appear in google market so i downloaded and installed it manually...then when i opened the application in android it said that the version is expired(just downloaded from the site...)so if anyone intend to use it you just have to adjust the date 1 year ago...eg. 11/3/2009 instead of 11/3/2010...hope this helps someone...
thanx man!u have solved me problem, genius man
Hey guys, i'm going to be rooting my brothers Evo later this evening. The problem is, he stores all of his contact locally instead of syncing with his gmail account like suggested to him.
Is there an easy way to switch his contacts from local to gmail synced?

Yeah, thats definitely an option. I just noticed that whenever i add a new contact, my phone will ask if i want to save it locally, or save it with my gmail account. I was hoping there was a toggle of some kind to switch local contacts to gmail. If not, no worries. SD card method works just as well.

Yeah I've run into this problem before also. I can not find a way of switching contacts from phone contacts to google contacts except for maunally.
Actually after you export your contacts to the sd card you can take that vcf file and put it on the computer the go to gmail.com and import contacts and select that file this should add the contacts to your gmail that way they are backed up on the account just in case something happens
Hi
Can someone tell me why the bluetooth in my car won't synch with the contacts on my htc one x unless I create the contact on the phone memory rather than use them from the Google account?
Go to people> top left choose the phonebook as Phone - contacts then show up in the cars bluetooth contact list
If i choose phonebook as google - contacts dont show up
Anyone know why? I assume the contacts from the google phonebook aren't saved to the phones memory? I thought they were when you sync your phone with gmail
Thanks
Manny
have i posted this in wrong place?
Someone must have a thought on this?
The only way is to transfer all of my contacts to the phone memory from google?
If i create a new contact on the phone memory it gets overwritten by the google sync
Well i only synced my contacts with google and if i go to contacts i see the list of names that are also in my google account, i tried it in my car today and those names & numbers showed up via bluetooth. Even the missed and chosen calls. Don't know what your problem could be ! .... sorry

When you go to the people app on your phone, which phonebooks have been selected?
New question: How do I sync contacts stored on the device to Google? When creating a brand new contact on the phone it asks where you want to save it, but for contacts that are imported via Bluetooth you have no choice as to where they are saved. Thus, I have contacts on the device I want uploaded to Google and can't figure out how to do that.
--Original Post--
Ok, this is a silly question. I have a second S4 which is for work. I have a gmail account specifically for that device (Google Apps corporate stuff as seen HERE), it syncs with my office outlook, etc. That said, I have a number of contacts on my personal S4 which I had been using until I got the company S4 which I want to now send to the work S4 so I can delete them from my personal S4.
Now then, what I want to happen is to be able to send the contact, have it upload to Google, and be done (thus also syncing with my Outlook in my office, etc). What I tried was to open contacts, menu/import/export/share namecard via/Bluetooth and sent them via Bluetooth. That worked, they show up in my contact list just fine, and they are stored on the device. Problem is, they don't seem to upload to Google.
Once (if?) they do, I want to be able to delete them from the device so they are ONLY stored on Google. Will deleting them from the device also delete them from Google again? How would I resolve this conflict if so? I don't want to sit and manually type all these contacts out into Google via web browser (or the phone) to have them sync down to the phone. One would think there would be another way...
Silly questions, I know. But hey, maybe someone has done this before.
I don't exactly remember where it is but if you're using the stock rom if you go to settings (don't know where it really is) there's some feature that allow you to do that, contacts msgs etc.. Its not group play but it's similar to it.. If you're using the stock rom then look for it kuz that's one of the things I first saw when I got the s4...

Ok, so I ended up just sending all the contacts via Bluetooth since I needed them. That works fine, however they still haven't uploaded to Google. Web searching reveals lots of people with this issue.
New question: How do you force sync contacts stored on the device to Google?

Settings->Accounts->Google->your account->Sync now should work.
It doesn't.
To the top, still looking for an answer here.
Try this
Select all the contacts that's on device and export it to sd card.
Now chose import from sd card and select which gmail account to import to.
The phone will scan the sd card and should pick up the file you exported earlier.
Edit: I just make up a bunch of contacts and save it to my device. Did the export to sd and import to my gmail account and it sync.

You're a genius. Since this is a work phone and didn't come with one, I had no SD card in it and obviously didn't want to spend my own money on one for it, thus the export to SD wasn't an option listed. I took the old SD card from my Sensation 4G, did as you suggested, and it worked. Thanks so much!
The only downside was that since I had so many contacts, I got a couple errors that I was trying to do too many at once. Hopefully it all panned out, I will be able to check Monday at the office. I am hoping the new contacts added here will sync down to my Outlook at work, but I think they will.
Thanks again!
EDIT: Everything worked fine. Thanks again!
