Is there a way to disable heads up notification while in certain apps?
It's kinda annoying when you are using navigation and the heads up notification blocks the street you are supposed to turn on.
With HeadsOff lollipop heads-up notifications can now be disabled!
No root needed.
You can also restore the ticker text in the statusbar!
Give it a try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.noheadsup
You can disable it for texts through the stock app. Does the headsoff app actually work with the hangouts app? Read some reviews and it doesn't work for everyone. Thanks.

This app doesn't work when enabled, I also purchased the pro version for $1.99 and it still doesn't work. Please respond to my email and provide a refund.

Yeah, the app is driving me insane with this. I went into Settings/Apps and found the facebook app. Click on it and you can disable notifications from it altogether. Not an ideal solution, but it'll do the trick. Facebook doesn't seem to want to budge on this.
The latest update of the app which came out a few days after I posted this fixed the issue for me
Uninstall it !

Use greenify application, hibernate and FB will not notice.

I am using Heads Up Notifications via Xposed and every time a notification pops up I get a force close. A message pops up and says something about system ui process has failed.
How can I get Heads Up Notifications working on the LG G3? Has anybody successfully got it to work?

I just tried heads up via GravityBox as well, and I have the same problem too, if the heads up notification is in landscape it works fine, but in portrait it is shifted to the right just like you said.
Is it possible to fix this or does the developer of the module have to fix it?

Weird. There is a way, yes, to disable it. Even to select how much info it shows up.
But I can't find it anymore, somehow.

Oh yes, it's in Sound.
Talk about awkward placement.
Also, weird. I've got three options: Show all notifications, hide only confidential and hide all
Lucky you

Actually I found a new problem. Disabling the lockscreen notifications also removes them from the status bar, I don't want this. Can it be fixed so that they are in the status bar but don't pop up on the screen when locked?

Exactly! It seems it's all or nothing now. You either get them on the lockscreen and status bar or not at all. The more and more I use Lollipop, the more and more I dislike it. This is yet another reason. Seriously thinking of going back to KK, Xposed and GravityBox.
how to get this lock screen working on G3 20A? the current one just shows 2 notifications and everything else is just a icon.

i think you can't.... LG ruined lollipop with his crap
Think I am having similar issue. I used Heads Up application for notifications (which is good) however since 5.0 heads up still works, but on my pull down screen I also see a similar notification .. that although I have dismissed with heads up, the lollipop notification still exists. I have done hide notifications, but it still seems to be there
Am I just being thick?

Sure. That makes perfect sense.
Is there any way to disable annoying heads-up notification in G3?
Thanks
Sorry. I do not know how to do that also. Just want to ask a question. Why do you want to do that? I think it's one of the great features of Lollipop.
Do we have a Privacy option like Nexus devices, which allows you to hide the content of the Notification message? Particularly for WhatsApp & Emails.
With HeadsOff lollipop heads-up notifications can now be disabled!
No root needed.
You can also restore the ticker text in the statusbar!
Give it a try:

Hi does anyone know how to disable Heads Up notification? I found it annoying. I tryied disable it same way as on Samsung Galaxy S4 (SQL editor, settings.db....) but the database is "locked" so SQL editor cannot get access to it. I'm rooted and SQL editor has root privileges(thru superSU)
Only way I've done it in the past was with xposed or custom Rom. Subscribing in case something else comes up.

Probably one of the single most greatest apps for the single worst feature of Lollipop. Google really dropped the ball with their implementation of heads up notifications. It's so half-assed. This app was a godsend.
Question on your app: any reason why the standard method of restoring the ticker doesn't work with your app on the G4? I had to use the other method which, as I can see, is really just a floating black bar over the status bar (very clever, by the way).
Side note: If anyone actually likes heads up notifications, but really hates how terrible Google handled it, I suggest this app from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=codes.simen.l50notifications
Use it in conjunction with Jawomo's HeadsOff app so that you don't get double notifications. That Heads Up Notifications app gives you so much control over them ( you can swipe up to dismiss, swipe down to expand, blacklist or whitelist, etc).
