My htc one gets randomly stuck on Splash Screen at times . this time i was calibrating the battery where i needed to press power button+ volume UP and Down simultaneously because i was fed up with slow charging of the phone.
However after this , it got stuck at "HTC One powered by android" screen. My only way out is somehow going to recovery by pressing volume UP+ Power and when phone starts immediately sliding my finger to volume down so that it goes into bootloader and there i wipe cache and dalvik cache.
And then this problems returns again on next reboot.
it is temporarily solved when i restore a backup or flash new rom but randomly on reboot gets stuck there.
So the question is - Is there a way to avoid it getting stuck there on that screen ? because wiping cache and dalvik cache everytime to boot is no fun
Using TWRP 2.8.6.0
it is T-mobile model on which i have flashed Insertcoin ROM.(Happened on Viper ROM once too but then i restored a nandroid)

So I recently flashed my phone to the newest MIUI. I decided to delete CWM for some stupid reason and now my phone won't boot up.
I figured I can just flash my old 2.2 SBF back in and redo everything. Well, it goes into infinite boot loop.
So now...
Battery won't charge (doesn't recognize the battery when plugged to charger)
Tried all different kinds of SBF and all of them end in infinite boot loop
Only thing my phone can do is bootloader. Recovery mode doesn't work either.
Any ideas?
what happens when you try to enter recovery?(power button + volume down)
if it shows android with exclamation mark then press vol up+vol down at the same time..then wipe everything and reboot.
Battery was too low (0%), won't boot into recovery.
I did the Mcgyver trick and got it going.
System wipe + 2.3.3 flash booted it back up. It can charge again now. Right now trying to get rooted and get MIUI running again.
This time I'm not touching the 2ndinitdefy.
Everything was running so well and I had to go and screw it all up.
it happens....

Hey all, so I have a Stock Galaxy nexus running whatever the latest OTA update is that is stuck in the boot process right now at the "X" screen with the changing colors.
This is pretty much all I know about the situation:
I was sitting around with my phone next to me, decided to look to see if I had any messages, so I hit the power button to turn on the screen, nothing happened, so I pressed it a couple more times. Still nothing. Assuming the phone had frozen or something (although I haven't had any issued with this in the past) my instinct was to take out the battery and reboot it. After I did that it started to boot, showed the Google logo, moved on to the X screen and stayed there for about 15 minutes. I did some googling and people said it can occaisionally take a while to boot but after 20 minutes I figured there might be an issue so I once again took out the battery and tried again. This brought me right back to the same X screen and it's been sitting there for some 30 minutes now. Any suggestions or ideas of what's going on?
EDIT: I also just booted into recovery and tried clearing the cache, but that didn't really do anything.
EDIT2: I just wiped all my data through recovery and it booted fine. Is there anything I can do in the future to avoid having to start from scratch though?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
More details might evoke more replies. What did you do immediately before rebooting the device the first time it got stuck at the boot animation?
Same problem! Stuck at 'X' for infinite time ..
I have faced this problem second time now.
One of my friend who also has Galaxy Nexus faced this problem once!
Both of us have 4.1.1
When problem occurred ? -- (me both time)
I turned on Bluetooth using widget on homescreen, it halted for a second or two and suddenly 'X' logo appeared which didn't go away ! I tried taking off battery and turning on phone again. While starting it "Passed Google logo" and on next screen at "X" logo it stuck.
When problem occurred ? -- (my friend once)
While changing from flight mode to Normal mode.

" I just wiped all my data through recovery and it booted fine." I have not done anything by myself yet, so don't know how to do that. can you please explain in detail ? It will really be helpful . Thanks ..
4.2.1 is the latest version, not 4.1.1.
Without any logs, it's that much harder to tell.

Have you rooted your phone? If yes then head over to recovery=>then Clear cache partition=>factory reset=>advanced-clear dalvik cache
Then reboot..now your phone should work fine.
As per your problem stated you might have different rom and got OTA,which finally messed with your system and hence got bootloop..
my phone not rooted
hello,
If phone is not rooted, can I reach recovery mode and clear cache ?
Is there any other way to do this with not rooted phone? or can I root my phone in this condition?

Also can to install yakju image freshly while my phone is stuck in bootloop?
With procedure given here
If I can install it, then will it solve the problem ? (stuck at X logo)
Thanks a lot..
You can enter recovery by turning the phone off and first pressing volume down + volume up + power =[bootloader], and then use the volume arrows to scroll so recovery is across the top, then press the power button to accept the selection. In recovery, android with red triangle, press and hold power then press volume up to bring up menu, and you'll see clear cache option. Otherwise, adb will allow you to erase cache, as well as rebooting to recovery. Fastboot is how you'll flash fresh factory images. And yes, that should fix your problem. Why not go with takju rather than yakju? If you do, i believe you'll have to do a factory reset, as well as the cache and dalvik wipes.
Ok so I have a bizarre and painful one here.
Recently the micro-usb slot faulted so I had to replace it, managed to do it but the volume rocker whose connector was soldered on was removed.
A week later I change roms get the recurring start up animation so go to manually put it into fastboot. Except of course my volume rocker is disconnected. And as the phone can only do recurring animation or off I don't think adb is going to help me.
I have a feeling the answer is going to be fix the volume rocker, if so anyone know how? Or better yet another way to get into fastboot in my current predicament?
So I have a rooted HTC desire HD with Jellytime on it. All was working great till recently when it would shut down by itself. Today after I wanted to test a new boot screen from Rom toolkit I restarted it and while the boot screen worked great after it finished I see a black screen (backlit so I know its on). I tried going to the bootloader but after I try to go to wipe cache for example it restarts by itself and it gets stuck after the boot screen... Any ideas?
ok an update seems that if I go to the recovery via down button and power it lets me do actions. All this time I went to recovery mode when phone was shut down and plugged into a power source. I did a wipe cache and now it says android is upgrading and now it finished saying starting apps. Hope it didnt get stuck there because it keeps doin the cycle animation but doesn't do anything else.. I ll leave it be for a bit like this... :/ Had to restart it by removing the battery after 20 minutes... same problem as before still...
another update... just before it goes to a black screen when the boot screen finishes an orange light appears just briefly (where the green light appears when it charges)

I flashed the rom again and wiped data and all seem to be ok now. I ll update this because I saw many people have similar problems... thanks in advance for any help!
Have the same problem.
I bought this with the problem that it keeps rebooting all the time.
I unlock the bootloader with htcdev, root with Easy Ace Tool, flashed the new cyanogenmod 11,
but did the same .
At least 3-4 rebooting before open normally.
I said that it must be ROM issue and flashed the KK-LegacyCarbon-4.4.
Did the things should be...flash the ROM and then the boo.img separately.
Now i have black screen and the only screen i am able to get is bootloader and the recovery 4EXT.
I reflased cyanogenmod back but nothing happened, any thoughts???
I got LG GPad v500 earlier today, rooted and installed CWM. Then I flashed the latest Mahdi and GAPPS, cleared cache and dalvik cache, and on reboot it stuck on google logo animation (four colored circles moving). When I press and hold Power it just reboots. When it reboots it shows this error for a few sec:
------------------------------
Secure booting Error
Cause: Device ulnock. Success!
------------------------------
and proceeds to the google logo. I can't even get it to recovery mode because it doesnt shut down (catch 22!).
Any help please!
Ok, after 20 attempts I managed to boot into recovery. I reflashed both rom and gapps, reset to factory defaults, and it boots now!
Keeping it here in case someone else gets into the same situation
Hello all, as the title states. my Note 2 is stuck in a bootloop. Originally I had the Liquid smooth ROM flashed, I have been running this ROM for several months with no issue. Yesterday I tried to flash the Blissstalk ROM using the usual method: TWRP 2.8.5 > Full wipe > Flash Blissstalk > Wipe dalvik/cache again > Reboot system. Phone loaded up fine went through setup and installing apps fine. I put my phone on charge last night and woke up this morning to it stuck on the Bliss bootscreen. I pulled the battery and tried to boot to recovery (Vol up + home + power) instead of loading recovery my phone went straight to the bootscreen. Tried 3 more times and then 3 times to get it to boot to Odin. Nothing happens other than it goes straight to the bootscreen and gets stuck. Not sure what to do now and looking for a way to, if nothing else, return it to stock so I can start fresh.
Did you try the 3 button combo with no battery and then install the battery with the 3 buttons still pushed? It may sound crazy, and it's tricky too, but I'm hoping that you haven't tried that as to it may be the fix you're looking for.
Make sure you press the vol up+power+home key and keep it pressed until you see the Samsung logo appear. Your switch might be a but loose
