Am i right to say that the GT7100 is the 3g version and the 7105 is the LTE?
Indeed. N7105 is LTE, N7100 is HSPA+
Should i get the former because of the FM radio? What does the latter have to offer other than LTE?
BTW, currently the 7105 is not compatible with USA(ATT) LTE....
"Maybe" someone will figure out how to port over the modem bin from the ATT Note 2 (when it comes out) over to the 7105 and get it to work..
Please give me some advice. I want to purchase the N7100 because of its developments, but i have also heard the radio frequency is different so T-mobile 4G network in the US is not available to use. I'm just wondering if i should just get the T-mobile version, which has less development than the N7100, instead.
What do you guys think?
Just get the tmobile version..n7100 may have more development but ports would be simple enough considering the variants have similar hardware

HSPA won't work on n7100. N7100 is quad band compatible, not pentaband on HSPA. You require the T889
Okay well, everyone says that you need the 1700mhz frequency bands to work on wind mobile. However, the website itself does not post that the galaxy note 2, they provide the sgh-t899v, has any 1700mhz bands. Now this can't be just an accidental omission as you go to the s3 and you find that the 1700mhz bands is listed.
However, AWS I believe is just another word that describes the 1700mhz bands, so for any note with AWS know that your phone will work on wind unlocked of course. However, the gt-n7100 does not have AWS. I heard how t-mobile is shifting over their hspa+ to 1900, and leaving 1700mhz for LTE. So is wind doing the same thing, if so how come they haven't announced it.
or simply, the question is, will the gt-n7100 note 2 or the international note 2 work on the Wind Mobile network. I don't want people who simply have assumptions to answer, I rather have people who have a gt-n7100 note 2 on the wind mobile to answer.
please hurry need answers quick.

Hi, Did you figure out how to get your Note 2 GT-N7100 to work on Wind Mobile?
Wind in Europe Greece no problem at all. Model n7100 unlocked international not the lte. Maybe there are differences from country to country.

Hi, Sorry i thought you were in Canada on Wind Mobile.
Some devices simply won't work on certain mobile network. Great question but I think best dealt with by Wind themselves. Best suggestion is to give them a call or go into a store.
Hi,
I searched whole Galaxy Note 2 Forums for my question but did not get direct answer. My question is
Can I use AT&T Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-i317) in India and get 3g data as is without making any modification to Bands?
or
Should I enable AWS (TMobile 3g/4g) bands in this phone to use 3G in India.
If anybody is using this phone in India, let me know how / which carrier in India are you using.

Depends what bands your carrier uses. The phone (without the AWS hack) supports 850/900/1900/2100 MHz for 3G.

I thought it supports only triband for 3g (900MHz being unavailable). Can you please confirm that SGH-i317 supports 900MHz for 3G.

I can't confirm that it actually works, other than this screenshot from my i317 (I did the AWS hack, which is why 1700 MHz comes up). GSM carriers in the US use 850/1900 (AT&T) and 1700/1900/2100 (T-Mobile) for 3G. So I can't see if 900 MHz works:
http://db.tt/WTFsWwwa
However, I don't think the phone will show bands that it doesn't support, so it should work. I have a hard time believing the phone is only Tri-Band, when my Galaxy S3 i9300 is quad-band (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) UMTS.
I know that the Verizon version works with 900 MHz because on Samsung's websites, it's quad-band UMTS. Yes, the Verizon version can also do GSM. It comes unlocked as well. You just have to use root and an APN application to add your carrier's APN, or just install a custom ROM that enables the APN menu.
I actually had the exact opposite question. I am planning on buying the Galaxy Note II (N7100) in India and I wanted to know if the 3G facility would work for any GSM provider in the United States?? I wanted to know if all the N7100 models (including the ones in India) are Quad band 3G. If so I guess the AT&T 3G should work as quad band would be compatible with the 850/1900 frequencies used by AT&T. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. I hope to be in the US from September for studies and thus wanted to be sure Id be able to use this phone for 3G there.

Im using the att note 2 i317 in india on airtel network. Currently on cleanrom MA4 . Speed is decent. I get anywhere between 4 to 8 mbps during good signal

Thanks for confirming. I was worried that I will miss out on 3g because of this 900MHz.

I travel India frequently and have US (AT&T) and India (Vodaphone) SIM, I just swap the sim and everything works great. I am on cleanrom 4.8. No issues and great Internet speed in Mumbai. Even I was able to do RDC without any issues.
Thanks.

ATT Note 2 in India
Guys i am using ATT Note 2 in India and i am not able to pick up 3G frequencies here.. My phone is unlocked from ATT but i still only get to use 2G,. I would appreciate if anyone can help me here. How do i get to 3G here.? i am using a vodafone sim.
Hi there,
It started with when I bought int. version N7100 from Amazon.com. I live in Canada and use WIND mobile. So I inserted my SIM and it didn't work! I sent Note 2 back to the seller, and get refunded soon. So, basically, I'm sort of noob here, and have a noob question. Sorry, but need your help.
Now, I want to give a try to purchase N7105 or SGH-T889V (from Mobilcity, cuz it is cheaper) version, and use it with my WIND sim card.
1) Will N7105 work with WIND AWS band right away or do I have to root and flash WIND modem for it?
2) Same question as in 1) but for Mobilcity Note 2 (but I guess it will work right away without any software modification. I want just to make sure).
3) After 3-4 months I'm moving to USA (more likely) or Europe (depending my job offer), and going to get sim card from some local carrier. Which model, N7105 or SGH-T889V, covers more network?
4) As far as I understand SGH-T889V fully supports what N7105 supports, but not vice versa, am I right?
If you want to use your Note 2 on Wind then the T889V is the one you want. It's also possible to flash a radio hack on the Bell/Rogers/Telus version to get AWS HSPA. However, the T889V does not have LTE officially.
For travelling, , 7105 will be your best bet in Europe as it will support every carrier there and you will get LTE if the carriers support it. The T889V will be better for the States as it supports AWS HSPA on Tmobile, however still no LTE.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I saw on the internet people using N7105 with Bell, Telus, and Rogers with full LTE potential. And my question 1) still holds. Is it possible to do that? Even if it is possible, will it be same quality connection/performance as native (T889V) Note2?
But according wikipeadia, T889V supports some LTE bands. Maybe after flashing the modem, as you said, it will be compatible Bell/Rogers/Telus.
Now, I'm coming to conclusion that both of them work with almost all major North American carrier with full potential, while N7105 also is gonna support EU carriers. So, it is sort of N7105 > SGH-T889V, i.e. is N7105 way to go?
