[Q] Battery differences 2GB/3GB & single/dual SIM - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a 2GB single SIM G3 but I'm hoping to upgrade to a 3GB D858HK shortly. Before I do, has anyone run both of these and found notable differences in battery usage?

[AUSTRALIANS] - Using G3 D856 or D858HK models in AUS **HELP**

Hi everyone.
Thinking of jumping off the Samsung Galaxy series in favour of the G3 DUAL SIM LG smartphone...
Does an Aussie here on XDA currently use the DUAL SIM G3 model D856 or D858HK (with 3GM RAM and 32GB memory)?
If so, can you please report back on the following:
- Fastest 4G speeds on SIM 1 - who is your carrier?
- Fastest Internet speeds on WIFI - and what is your home line speed?
- I don't believe it does, but does either of these 2 models support wireless charging? (Not referring to AUS model D855 that does)
- Rate it / 10 in terms of comfort & ease of use? (5.5" doesn't sit well with me, might as well be a tablet, but is at its max I'd consider USEABLE)
- Where did you buy from? How long ago? Do you remember what you paid?
- Any current deals for it now?
- Make note of your FAVOURITE/BEST feature?
- Make note of the WORST feature on the phone?
- Have you rooted the phone? What modifications have you made to improve usability / battery etc?
I really like dual SIM capability, more RAM and internal storage...but I dislike the fact that only the AUS model (D855) will work on Telstra carrier 4GX band of 700mhz...but thankfully the international models work on 1800MHz 4G, with the D856 appearing to having more 4G band capability. I am also tossing up between whether or not to wait for the G4. Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.

Best if you ask this on whirlpool. But with regards to you other questions
- Where did you buy from? How long ago? Do you remember what you paid? I would highly suggest you get it from Kogan instead of a no name third party seller just for piece of mind when it comes to dealing with warranty and with logistics etc etc
- Any current deals for it now? Not that i know of
- Make note of your FAVOURITE/BEST feature? Dual Window
- Make note of the WORST feature on the phone? Its battery life
Trying to answer your question, since I had D858 and I am using D855 now,
-D858 no wireless charging, "quick circle" case is different than D855, no SlimPort function for D858
- I am in Hong Kong, so 4G is 4G, it supports the China 4G (TD-CDMA)
- QuickMemo+ is always really nice, and the camera got many features once you install Xcam, it has the features that the G2 got, no idea why G3 removed them
- don't use Android 5.0 now, over heating and battery drain for no reason
- screen using too much battery, 2K makes the phone feel slower compare to the G2, even my GPro feel a bit faster sometimes, and my GPro battery last forever
- I got it because it's like half price compare to Sony Xperia Z3 and those Samsungs, it can compare with them but half the price

What is the difference between LG G4 Dual and H815?

My country only has the dual sim version, is there any difference between this and H815 in performance and camera quality?

No difference in performance or camera.
The difference is wireless charging is not possible on the dual sim. Also dual sims cannot be bootloader unlocked like the H815. So whatever roms are only available on the euro version only. With 6.0 this means no root possible on the dual sim.

Diffrences between every model's battery ? (i9300, i9300i, i9301i)

Just searching for a new battery online so I wondered if there are any size and compactibility differences between all S3 models ?
Same battery

Some S3 have battery cells from Korea, others from china. But it's the same capacity.
Differences
The standard S3 has a slightly faster CPU and GPU but has 0,5GB less RAM than the S3 Neo and supports only up to Android 4.3 except the LTE/4G version which has 2GB of RAM but the same CPU/GPU and offers Android 4.4
The S3 Neo also has two variants. The GT-I9300I is a dual sim variant of the S3 NEO and the GT-I9301I has a single micro SIM card slot.

Anyone got the AT&T 5G version? How is it? Is it dual SIM?

Would be interested to hear, also battery life
5g is single sim everywhere except allegedly for Chinese market

Does eSIM use more battery than standard SIM cards?

Just wondering whether choosing eSIM over standard SIM cards has any adverse impact on battery life of the S20 Ultra (and, in fact, of any S20 devices). Does eSIM radio require more battery juice than SIM radios?
The underlying scenario is:
- your carrier supports eSIM;
- you need to have at least two phone numbers registered on the S20 device;
- you also want to expand internal memory by installing a microSD card in the hybrid slot (which you cannot do when using two standard SIMs). This is especially relevant for Galaxy S20 Ultra, given that there are 2 variants (128 GB and 512 GB) but with a considerable pricing gap between them.
Thanks all!
:good:
good question and i would wonder the same but about reception
If their is a difference it is most likely negligible. I haven't seen any difference with other phones
Not too many phones support this feature as of these days. Hard to draw a clear-cut conclusion. But the fact that the eSIM chip is soldered on the phone MB may have an advantage as opposed to being a removable carrier-provided physical SIM. For instance, battery drain caused by poor contact between the physical SIM and the SIM slot or progressive wear of the SIM electrical contacts should be nonexistent.
Just saying, not sure if this is true, I am obviously not an expert in this field.
I dont think eSIM would consume many resources of battery ( Depends what network you using )
I dont know, mostly eSIM integrates its own software to work, it should consume less battery,
I lost the 2nd Physical sim option after update to OneUI 5.1. Anyone experienced the same? It's S20 Ultra SM-G988B/DS
