Im using a Sprint Touch Pro 2 flashed to Cricket. I couldnt get the Youtube app to work on a few different roms I tried so I installed the WVGA Youtube cab and now you Youtube is working perfectly. Problem is, it messed up my Windows Media Player and maybe my MMS too. Now I cant play any videos on it and I get the error: The source filter for this file could not be loaded.
Also, when I get a MMS with a mp3 in it, it wont play the mp3. I tried saving it and playing it but get the same source filter error as when trying to play videos. I was messing with this all day and discovered that it also changes the format of the file. For example, I sent myself a 800k mp3 but received a 34k amr file that I cant play.
So other than uninstalling Youtube, does anyone have a fix or any other suggestions? Id really like to get this fixed so I can have it all working flawlessly but maybe I cant have my cake and eat it too huh? Any suggestions would be welcime. Thanks.
Similar issue with my Tilt 2....decided to uninstall the program until I find a solution.
Anyone know where is offline music stored? I know it (used to be) stored in /sdcard/Android/data/com.Google.android.music/cache but now when I look there there is nothing. I am pretty sure I have offline music cause I turned off the GSM radio and even if it wouldnt work it would buffer. Maybe Google just hide those files somehow, any idea?
I would like to know the answer to this as well. Just realized it wasn't there anymore for me also.
/data/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music
Can't find it at this location either. Can anyone confirm that its here with latest 4.3.609 version from play store?
Hi,
I know several threads have been made about SM and it's difficulties, but I'm just wondering why apps that are in essence the same (walkman - tunein radio, both streaming audio) are still handled differently by SM, and couldn't find an answer.
It's like this: as the SM whitelist gives apps access to networking, apps like Whatsapp and Walkman work just fine, without the "this is app is preventing stamina mode" messages. SM is enabled, and only those apps get network.
But now I have the TuneIn Radio app, and this one is handled wrong by SM. It keeps giving me messages that the app is preventing SM, even though it's whitelisted.
Does anyone experience something like this, with TuneIn Radio, or even another app?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys - anyone here using a G4 with BMW iDrive (current NBT version)? If so are you able to get e-mails w/ the G4? So far, the best I can do is get text messages but my Exchange e-mail doesn't show up. The G4 bluetooth option to access messages is on, but not sure if it applies to e-mails. This worked perfectly w/ my Z2 (which is only running Android 5.0.2).
This is a '15 228i with Tech package & enhanced bluetooth / usb.
Any ideas? Thanks.

OK it looks like LG devices in general (G2, G3) don't support viewing e-mail via iDrive. Presumably, the G4 would have the same issue.
Not possible.

I guess you'd need to be connected to the car first, then on the G4 go to BT settings of the connected device.
Hmmm, mine only shows Call Audio and Media Audio. Maybe AT&T took it out?

Your car may not support it. It is there in the BT options for the connection in the ATT version if the car can do it.
Car dash shows messaging button and it worked on my old S5 Active.

Did you deny permission to messages when you set up the connection by chance?
No, even repaired them this morning. Only ask for call history and phonebook.

Strange. I actually have the opposite problem. For whatever reason LG doesn't offer the option to permanently deny messages permissions. It was like that on the G3 and now the G4, so even though I deny permission to messaging on the initial setup it automatically allows it every time after that and I have to go in and manually turn off message access every time I get in the car. Happens on all 3 of our vehicles and the 2 we had when we had G3s. At least with the G3 root was available and I could use AppOps to block bluetooth MAP access. One more reason my G4 is just lying on my desk unused until root (hopefully) becomes available :/
This is all I get. https://goo.gl/photos/ZYgoqZ8UGDB7Hnt16
Downloaded Bluetooth Auto Connect. One setting shows profiles. No MAP listed.....great! https://goo.gl/photos/DLk5YDxduNG2PDcX9
I anyone have any luck with getting the recording of calls back up an running? I have memory issues and used to record my calls so that I can go back and listen to what was said so I can write down the important things that I miss. Searching around it says that we need to root our devices, which I have done, but can't seem to find a program or setting to allow for the recording of conversations, legally of course.

Are you recommending that app because you know for sure that it works with rooted phone running Android Pie? Because it doesn't work for me; Pixel 3 isn't listed under their list of phones (root required or not) and I'm guessing because it doesn't work with Pie.
Google's being a d-bag about the whole call recording thing on Pie, eliminating the work-around that let the usual apps work (ACR is/was my go-to).

But maybe Total Recall app will work better for your setup.

I'm using Cube ACR on my non-rooted Pixel 3 and it's working ok.

It sucks I was using acr forever and it worked great until this phone. And it seems that most of the programs that require root require supersu not magisk and the one program that did mention magisk as a possibility was highly geared for a certain rom only.
I ended up going with boldbeast recorder. It was able to get root and it seems to be working pretty good. Thanks a bunch for the ideas!

It actually does seem to work. It was able to find root and it is recording calls like acr was before.
There is a hel thread within boldbeast that takes you to their site and provides the appropriate settings to get the program to work specifically on the Pixel 3.

I tried half a dozen recommended apps last night and Boldbeast was the only one I could get to work using the rooted options and their Also recording option as discussed here.
I am however having some problems with their cloud sync options.
I would like to find a working recorder that has cloud sync and only a one time purchase fee.
I've tried a number of call recording apps including Call Recorder by @skvalex and Boldbeast recorder and am unable to get anything except for silent recordings on either of them.
I am on a Google Pixel 3XL that is rooted with Magisk, but not on a custom rom. I am running Android 10 with the May 2020 security patch level.
Does anyone have a solution for an automated call recorder that works?
Thanks!

The first one you mentioned should be working just fine, so long as configured properly.
Read the last couple pages of that thread and it should help...

After doing more reading and some trial and error, I still don't have a fully functional solution, but I may have made some progress.
I installed Call Recorder by @skvalex version 3.3.6 as a Magisk Module.
By setting it to
-Main:Standard API
-Standard API:Audio source: * [ROOT] CAF
-Recording format: WAV
-Device: Qualcomm (Android 10)
-Sample Rate:8000 Hz (Default)
-Recording mode: Auto
-Don't use AMR driver: (checked)
-When BT connected...: Do Nothing
-Switch ALSA controls: (not checked)
I get a recording of only my side of the conversation. There is no audio for the person calling me.
I tried many other audio sources and devices, all of them lead to completely silent recordings.
Thanks again for the help and suggestions!

This is the one I use on my pixel 3 on Android 9. Doesn't even use root and works perfectly.
I got it off of F-Droid. Just called call recorder

I have been using @Skalex for years over multiple phones I paid for it in fact.
A recent update in the Magisk Module changed the Audio Source from what had always been Root CAF to Voice Call uplink + downlink
I have had no issues
