Hello.
this problem has been going on for a few months but I never really tried to fix it until a couple of days ago.
This is exactly what happens: I start my phone and try to get a GPS fix with any apps, as long as I don't have a 3G connection, it works flawlessly.
the moment I enable the 3G connection, the GPS fix is lost and never works again until I reboot. wifi, 2g, airplane mode, they all give me a perfect GPS fix. as soon as the little "H+" shows on the screen, the GPS dies until the next reboot.
the weirdest thing about it is that it happens with every single room I try. so far I've tried CM 12, 11 and 10. exact same problem
Tried PA4.5 and 4.6, again, the exact same thing.
I even tried going back to stock, first to 4.3, nothing.
right now I'm on stock 4.0.4 which is the oldest image I could find, flashed everything back to stock (except boot-loader and recovery)
I've wiped everything between each room flash, of course.
I'm running out of ideas here. any help would be very appreciated
quick update.
I decided to try a different sim card from another carrier, and guess what? GPS working perfectly
but sadly, I need to use my own sim card. after 3 days of flashing roms, I feel stupid for not trying this at first. anyway, I didn't know your sim card could enable or disable your GPS?
does anybody know anything about it?

I recently rooted my Evo and put CM7 nightly 12 on it. All was well, I even installed the Savaged Zen kernel. Even better. Just yesterday I updated to CM7 RC2 to give it a shot. Today I went to work and had to drive to a remote area where I don't get service, so I put my Evo in airplane mode to save battery life. (this was after having it overheat while charging, could be a hardware issue) At the end of the day I turned the 3G radio back on and nothing... It connects and disconnects to the tower. It will not send data and it will not place phone calls on the 3G connection (WiFi works). I did a restore back to nightly 12 to see if maybe it was a problem with the OS. Nothing. A few hours ago it began functioning again, but after checking it a few minutes ago I have discovered it is back to no connection. (the signal bars bounce between nothing and full, but never shows the X for no signal) Has anyone else had an issue like this? Should I restore back to sense and unroot to take advantage of my warranty? If this has already been posted before please direct me to the right thread.
I'm having the same problem. I installed Cyanogen RC 2 and had no problem since it came out. I went on vacation to a beach, and during my trip I switched it on to airplane mode since I was in a remote location. After turning it back on, I noticed I can't get the Data Connection to work. The 3g bar doesn't even show up, and after messing with the settings trying to fix the problem I managed to do nothing. I tried using a backup I made from a week past, and encountered the same problem. Then I flashed the newest nightly and still no Data whatsoever. Wifi works fine, and 4g is acting weird but I got it to work a few times. Does this have something to do with sprint?
I think it is the same as the 4G 3G hang. I typically get it while tethering and the phone is normaly quite warm.
So I managed to fix the problem. I ended up flashing Koni's Elite Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
I got an error that said "Error 67 registration failure"
I updated my profile and it was automatically fixed. I'm not aware you can do this on cyanogen stock rom, but I think you can dial a number that will do this for you.
After getting the 3g to work again, I flashed back to the stock cyanogen, and it is still working. So for now im good to go.
I do think is sprint and not the rom because I did a restore to warm z and was still having the same problems. Also my brother's evo was doing the same thing and he doesnt have cm7 on it.
I figured it was something to do with the profile... I restored all the way back to sense and attempted to update profile, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I will try that ROM and see if it does anything. Why can't they just make this easy and allow updating of vital software that allows the radios to work on WiFi or from SDcard? This is dumb.
I tried that ROM and nothing works. Not really sure what to do. I might have to restore to Sense and unroot to take it back... I really want to avoid that if at all possible.
Unrooted my phone and getting a free replacement from Sprint. Still unsure of the problem, seems to work randomly.

I also have the same problem. No 3g data, gps, and 4g is acting weird.
I also had the same registration error number 67. My question is, how do you update your profile?
Yesterday my defy using CM7.1 suddenly stopped receiving any signal and says emergency calls only. For the past month it's been running great on CM7.1. Before it stopped working I did patch a program. Something pointless like flashlight or something. It was also charging on a car charger.
I checked the basebands and swapped them around and still nothing. I cleared my caches and still nothing. I've even reset all user data and still nothing.
I don't have a backup of stock motoblur so I can't test that.
I put my sim in a dumb phone or an older smart phone and it works fine.
Anyone know of what else I could try?
I had the same problem two days ago, but I'm lucky to check DEFY Baseband and then signal is normal.
i already changed the basebands around and still nothing.
I had something similar happen on the nightly from the 20th, even reboot stopped fixing the problem. Happy to report problem is gone on latest nightly from 23rd.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
i never changed from the stable. the radio just died randomly one day. I flashed a whole new sbf and reinstalled cm7. still nothing.
Have you tested going back to a stock froyo to check the signal status and then again installing CM7?
Found out that it was the sim that was responsible for the emergency calls issue. It was quite strange because the same sim would work in an old touch diamond I had and the sim would also work in a dumb phone.
With a new sim calls worked again.
Although in my quest to fix the emergency call issue I've created some other issues but that will be in a new thread.
Thank you for the replies.
Please help i cant solve that problem.
try a factory reset \ wipe data
disable your code pin
Unable to change sim card pin
it gives that error.
I don't really know to describe this problem better. I'm running CM10 (lately AOKP's latest build) with default kernels. I've flashed all the radios and tried a bunch of them in solid LTE coverage, I seem to have the same problem every time, which is the data seems to "stall."
It will show full signal, and then if i click a link, it will sort of just sit there, not really doing anything. Eventually it may load, or i give up in patience. Any one have any ideas?

I am using at&t stock rom and not yet rooted. Even I have the same problem. Tried to disable and enable data from the notification but did not help. But, when I turn on the wifi, and turn off the wifi again, it works fine. When wifi is turned on phone disables the data and try's to connect to wifi or shows the available networks, but I don't connect and I turn off the wifi, phone reconnects to the at&t data again and then it works fine. Not sure why.

I can't even run a speed test because it just sits there. Web pages "load" but wind up stalling. Sometimes they finish, sometimes they don't. I have no idea what's causing it. What modem are you on?

May be a good time to contact your cell phone provider for a replacement.
I was on a cross country road trip running CM9 on my GS3 and I kept running into the same thing. A temporary fix was to reboot the phone. Since I got back, I flashed SlimBean and I haven't seen the issue again.
In my case, I think its the SIM card. I used Google Maps/Navagation on my HTC G2 (using a micro SIM adapter) and my phone got HOT, I mean burn your fingers hot (upwards of 57 degC to 60 degC).
If it happens again I'm going to bring my SIM card back to ATT and have them replace it. I did some googleing and it seems like this is common with the Verizon variants of the GS3.

That's the next step... it means reflashing, and waiting for samsung to fix it though, which sucks a lot.
ive had this same problem and it would piss me off! i found out that busybox was the culprit. i uninstalled busybox and cleard my cache in recovery and all was well once again. if any of yall have busybox installed you may look into my solution.
I recently been having this issue also. But mine is a little bit different. Like my phone will say I am connected to "H" for data but when I load a Page it slightly lags switches to H+ and boom Internet works. When I stall for more then 5 minutes it switches back. I'm not sure if it's some battery conserving feature or what but I have no problem against at.

Hello all!
I am having constant data issues all day where I go to use an app that needs it, it says that no data connection can be found or something. I turn the radio off, turn it back on and then it works. It's a good work-around but it does get very annoying. I've tried multiple 4.4.2 roms but no avail. I tried a different kernel but I couldn't even use the phone. Any ideas?
Same for me; I'm rooted now but it happened before root and after the JB ota updates. Annoying but otherwise I love this phone
I think this has been a known issue since ICS (I could be wrong though).
If anyone knows a fix that would be cool (I have GSM google play gnex)
My issues started late last night, lost data connection and it didn't come back. On my way home, it connected then lost again at home. Went to Verizon today and they couldn't figure it out, said possibly the radio is taking a crap.
On my way to work, it connects then gone. I tried flashing the radio, pulled battery, booted without sim, formatted cache and delvic. I have tried everything and think it's the end of the line for it
I've been rooted since the day I got it and had the issue once a while back but it straightened out and has been great since.
Certain CyanogenMod ROMs have trouble with the Network Modes sticking. Which carrier are you using? For my carrier, I had to have the correct APNs set to get 4G and MMS working. It might be that this is the problem in most cases, especially when the phone switches between 4G and 3G in spotty areas.
Hey all. I need some advice. This morning my G3 (D850) dropped WiFi connection for no reason. It says the signal is good but the network info says saved, secured. It will attempt to connect over and over again and if it does connect the signal is weak as can be and it drops the connection within 2 seconds. My coworker has a G3 also and is connected to the same work network I am. His connection says excellent where as mine said good. His device connects just fine with full bars. I'm baffled. I've already tried manually selecting 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz instead of auto select and that didn't help at all. I've tried manually turning off WiFi and turning it back on. I've tried turning airplane mode on and then off to refresh the connection and that didn't help. I've done a battery pull as someone in one of the android authority forums suggested that (apparently I am not the only one having this issue.), didn't work. I've unchecked WiFi optimization - no dice. There was another post on a different forum here on XDA that said turning off WiFi and then deleting the WiFi config folder located in data/etc/wifi and then rebooting fixed the issue for them so I tried that. After reboot when I tried to turn on WiFi my G3 rebooted itself. Does it everytime. SO, I had to restore to a nandroid backup (btw I'm on rooted stock 10f) to get the phone to stop hating my WiFi toggle attempts. Last ditch effort I did a factory reset hoping for an easy fix... Nope. I don't know what else to try. It was fine yesterday all day. This morning it was perfectly fine and then randomly started having this issue. I haven't altered any system files whatsoever. I really don't want to send my device to LG for warranty replacement so I'm hoping someone can help me out that may have had this issue and resolved it. The only difference between my device and my coworkers device is he is still on 10d and I am on 10f. That could be the issue I guess but that doesn't really explain why my device has been perfectly fine until this morning and I've been on rooted 10f for weeks. I am planning on flashing back to straight bone factory stock 10d when I get home here in a few hours from work but Idk if that will help or not. Judging from the amount of google search results of "LG G3 WiFi connection problems" this seems to be an issue for several people. I won't know if it's on the software side or hardware side until I get home but in the meantime has anyone had these issues at all? People have had success in changing to Static IP but I would have to do that for every connection I attempt to connect to and that's a pain in the a$$. Also, that does nothing to identify the root cause of the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Thanks for the reply. So it turned out my phone just randomly decided it doesn't like my work network anymore. Idk why lol. I got home and it hooked right into WiFi. Gf's WiFi and open networks as well. I call shenanigans. I went ahead and flashed back to 10d anyway though.

I am having the same issue! But it is happening in other networks too...sometimes I get the phone to connect but it only works for a while and when I check the networks it only says Saved, even if I try to connect again
Having the same issue, whether at work or home, my wifi has become near useless. I've even gone as far as trying a different ROM. Didn't work.
Same thing here
I also have tried factory reset, installed a new ROM, changed settings in my router... but the problem remains I don't know what to do anymore, I use wifi a lot!! I searched through other topics but no one seem to know how to solve it. Unfortunately my warranty already expired, I took my phone to some technicians but honestly it didn't help at all...they all said it was a software bug and I should wait for an update but if it was just that a new ROM would fix it,right?
I am not very familiar with phone hardware but I assume that if it was a hardware problem I wouldn't be able to turn it on or connect to any network, right?? (any experts here???)
Any solution is welcomed.
anyone please?? :crying:
P.S : I tried a new baseband, new kernel and new ROMs. So far, nothing changed.
I can connect sometimes but get kicked out within minutes. At other times I only get the saved, secured message.
This is happening in every network
