sdcard mode - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello . This is what happened . ( Stock as the naming day . Not even root , Some usual google play apps ) Model 10.5 LTE
I was watching youtube app . then hang then off then sdcard mode . After the hang I was holding power so I don't know how much of it was automatic or was because I was holding down power key .
Now why would this happen on a " Less than a Day " old device ? I know the only 2 option is removing the battery or letting it drain . However when it happend it was around 90% charge . So with that screen will it take days to discharge ? What is the chance of device recovering without need of opening the unit ?
For future , Is there any lollipop official update ? Will it fix this sort of problem ? I have i9100 and tf201 with more than 100 times rom flashing . Many times softbricking . But this is in its own " ******* " league . There goes my first impression ...
And to note , I am in part of a world where warranties don't matter ...
Any help would be appreciated .
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 1 : So I let the battery drain . It took around 12 hours from 90% charge . Screen went off . I let it be off for another half hour and then plugged in charger . Charging icon appeard and at 10% charge I powered it on . It booted up normally but at the time it needed my password It happend again . It hanged and then some three tears on the screen and then blackness . It booted in sdcard mode without me doing anything from the moment of the tears ( no pushing power button or any other ) . Now it is hanged again at sdcard mode . Letting it drain again ... Any ideas ?

It's happened to me. I wish I knew how I did it so I could do it purposely.
Just let the battery drain. It will take less than a day with a full charge.
Mine happened in the morning. By the time I came home from work the tablet had died. I plugged in the charger and saw the charging symbol. Left it to charge for a few per cent and then it booted right up.

Edit 1 : I highly suspect an app ( which I downloaded from google play by the way ) is causing this . It is based on when one of my relatives had bought a galaxy s5 and gave me to install apps . After a day it came to me crashing and being unresponsive after some usage . That being s5 removing battery did the trick . After 2 times factory reset ( still insralling apps before giving it back ) it still would happen then the third time I told her how to factory reset over the phone and she went on installing everything with .apk file . The device is crash free to this day ...
Now this doesn't allow me to log in to user to factory reset . The next time I boot up I plan to factory reset . Will holding the 3 buttons go to recovery or straight to sdcard mode ? I see only download mode or normal boot . Do I absolutely need custom recovery for factory reset outside the actual OS ? If so can you direct me to cwm or twrp recoveries and a guide ? I am familiar with odin fastboot and adb . But I rather not flash anything yet if I don't have to.

You have 2 options, boot into recovery after the tablet drains.Start the tablet by holding POWER + VOL UP + HOME or boot into safe mode, press POWER wait until you see the logo then change to VOL DOWN, hold until the tablet fully boots.
You should see Safe mode in the bottom left.
This mode bypasses all user apps.

Wow, a safe mode! Would it hurt anything to boot into safe mode just to try it?

No, that's why it's called 'safe mode'

This is totally messed up . To clearify , When I say it hangs , means that no key combination with no time limit restarts the device ... or do anything ...
And also the first time I booted up in stock recovery , did a factory reset and cache wipe , first boot went upto upgrading android app 29 of 67ish and then hanged .
I can confirm it now hangs at samsung logo just seconds after pressing power key . I can confirm that so far booting into stock recovery and download mode works and leaving it on it does its job . meaning no hangs/tears during these mods . I have downloaded a custom rom and twrp and a stock rom .
Only step I have taken is to flash twrp via odin . The plan was to flash a custom rom . But I can confirm tear/hang happens in twrp too !!! note it didn't happen in stock recovery ... Now I believe flashing a stock firmware is my last hope ...
Letting it drain is the most frustrating part ...

[Q] Help any one, is my phone bricked ?

hello every one, so I've been searching the net for two days with no answer, help plz , so my problem is I was trying to theme framework-res.apk from rom : RCMix_234_v2.7 for my personal use, when I pushed the framework-res.apk and rebooted the phone was displaying ( Safe Mode ) in bottom left corner so I pushed back the original one but still nothing (Safe Mode ) on, so I rebooted in recovery format ( system, data, cache ) restored an other rom ( virtuous 2.35 ) to make a clean install of RCMix_234_v2.7 rom again but battery was to low, so I turned the phone off and charged the battery , and ever since , the phone boots only in bootloader without even touching the volume keys ! and the volume ( up/down ) keys don't responde , any ideas ?
PS: fastboot and adb don't see the phone , and now with radio s-off ( warranty is void ),kindly help any one , or is my phone bricked ? sorry for the long story and thanks.
If anyone is interested , it was a hardware problem ( volume down key ) phone is finally in care center , than you all.
I'm not very technical with regards to the steps you were doing at the time, but can you take the battery out and put it back in and then immediately press the power button AND the volume down button at the same time for about 7 seconds? IE. Can you boot it into Recovery?
ive had the same thing before turn the phone off and connect it to usb turn the phone on and it should recognise USB
have u installed htc sync? and / or sdk? i think you didn't install the usb drivers

[TUT] THE way to charge battery if you dont have a rom

My problem was when i flash a new rom the battery was on 40 % and the flash fail.
and i want to try it again ang give the message "not enough battery less then 30%"
The simple way to charge your phone is to download "One_X_All-In-One_Kit_v1.1"
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604439&highlight=one+x+kit
Then start your phone in bootloader with the usb cable in your PC "Hold Power Button and -volume button"
(If your Battery is realy empty wait 1 min and hold is around 10 sec.)
Then select "fastboot" with the power button en go to "reboot bootloader" do this over and over for arround a half houre.. ( borring job )
If you done this your battery is full enough to flash a recovery "TWRP 2.1.7" Only this one becouse with cwm You cant charge your battery!!!!!
If you done this go to "HBOOT" on you Phone and select "Recovery"
Press power and then shutdown your phone in TWRP!!
If you done this put him in the charge and after a while start you phone and go again to recovery and you can see you BATTERY%!!!!
Not full?? SHUT IT DOWN and wait longer.. he only charge when you shut him down!
good luck.. if this dont work ask.. i have also a other way .. updat comes later....
ICEMAN
Then use the latest cwm. Charging is fixed.

Boot loop SM-P605

Hello,
I have left my Sm-p605 power off for a while so when i tried to power it on nothing happened (flat battery I assume)
So I plugged it on the charger and this is what happen now:
- When plugged on the charger after few seconds I can see the battery sign (with the flash in the middle) then after few seconds I get the screen :
Samsung Galaxy note 1 2014 edition for about ten seconds then black screen and after a short while Samsung ...... screen.
- This scenario is obtained without any pres on any key ! looks like it start booting by it self.
- During the boot loop if I press Vol + the next boot will be in recovery but again boot loop
- During the boot loop if I press Vol - I get to the download screen and there no boot loop ! I have to do a long press on the power button to exit !
- If tablet not plugged on the charger: dead !
I thought that the battery was dead so I replaced it : same with the new battery !
As I can access download mode I was thinking to flash the ROM but there is no way as the USB port is busy with the charger and if I disconnect the charger the scren goes black.
I have tried a lot of tips found on the net but so fa no success !
What looks strange to me is the fact that the tablet seems to start by it self without the need of pressing the power switch !
But this switch looks OK as it works to exit the download mode !
Anybody has an idea of what could be done to get out of this situation ? Any idea will be welcome.
Thanks in advance !
Hello,
I have exactly the same problems with this model (SM-P605). I've tried several ROMS via different versions of ODIN and also with PIT-file, repartion etc. My tablet stucks always in the boot loop and I cannot enter the recovery menu. Also I soldered wires and power the tablet from an external power supply but still no luck.
Few people have managed to fix the problem but I think they had a WIFI model and not the LTE version like mine.
Is there anybody out there who could solve this problem with the SM-P605?
Kind regards
Franz

Just saw this.
As you can flash I'd try flahing latest multiple part stock and if that works I'd start from scratch.
Didn't say if you tried that.
