From the first day i bought i am facing the problem with Note 4
When ever i diall it connects to the caller but i cannot hear nor the other side can hear me. I need to hangup at least 5 to 7 times. The same
thing happens with incoming calls.
I have changed my SIM 2 times thinking possible problem with it. The trouble shooting that i have done from my side
1. Changed the SIM
2. In Network Mode LTE / WCDMA / GSM ( AUTO CONNECT )
3. Reboot
Its very annoying , if some can help me i will be thankfull..
I would consider doing a full factory data reset (Settings, Backup and reset, Factory data reset). Make sure you have backups of any important user data (like photos, videos, documents, etc.) before doing the reset. If the factory data reset doesn't fix the problem then you may have a defective phone.

I am having a similar problem which I posted in another link. Mine is intermittent and only on incoming calls so far, but same results as yours - no sound. I'll be watching for solutions, and will let you know if I find one elsewhere. It did not start until after I had the phone for a week or two.

Hello Everybody,
My phone n7100 with rooted stock rom 4.1.2 .
I was sitting with a friend and he was ringing my phone, but the network said the the phone is closed.
it was very strange the phone was turned on, and i can call him normally and his phone would ring, so there is no problem with calling,
Just with receiving and it can be fixed by restarting the phone OR enabling then disabling flight mode.
it happened to me around 3 times, whats annoying is that you never know when the phone hangs or you cant receive calls unless you meet someone who tried to call you before.
I don't know what is the problem exactly, so if somebody got any idea to share ??
Thanks.
This problem is more related to network. Check out using different simcard or other network operator.

You're not based in the UAE by any chance? The Phone company here just rolls out that sort of message rather than admit that their network sucks and they cannot route the call.
I don't actually mind that they can't route the call, but it really bugs me that they have to lie about it.
I am having issues with the P8000 phones I have. The phone is taking too long to switch from 4G to 3G when receiving a call so it goes to voicemail everytime. If it is set to 3G only it rings perfectly.
Dialling out also takes an age as because of the long time it takes to switch, but due to there not being a time limit, it does finally dial after about 15-20 seconds.
Has anybody had this happen to theirs and was there a workaround at all? (They are using Telstra in Australia)
Also when you factory reset the phone it clears the IMEI info and you have to enter engineering mode to put them back, is this normal behaviour as I would expect a factory reset to leave the IMEI information untouched.
Hopefully someone can assist me with a workaround.
same thing here...

I'm having similar issue... the only difference is that I do not have 3g since I leave in canada and frequencies don't match.
Anyways, when I set my phone to 2g, I can call and receive calls no issues.
Once I select 4G, I'm able to make calls (after a while since the phones takes it's time to change from 4g to 2g) but I cannot receive... I'm assuming the phone does not know a call is coming since calls use 2d...
Hopefully this can be fixes soon.
Using Eragon room...
update
after a conversation I had with my provider I may have identified the issue...
LTE does not carry over call service (only some provider through voLTE). So, when a receiving call is arriving, the provider sends a signal to the phone (called non assess stratum) that triggers it to change to 3g or 2g to receive the call.
when we want to make the call, the issue does not applies since the phone already knows we are making a call and automatically changes to 2g/3g.
so, will someone be able to help us on how to make sure the phone get the signal from the outside to change network type when an incoming call is arriving?
hope so.
thanks,
For the invalid imei after factory reset (or firmware upgrade), it doesn't happens everytime but it happens often. It's seems to be a problem with all mediatek based phones (it's the case on all my previous mediatek phones(5))
Cheers
I am experiencing the same issue re: no calls coming through when in 4G cause it doesn't switch to 3G in time and it goes to voice mail. (I'm with Telstra - Australia)
Has there been any update on this issue?
My device: T mobile s4 SGH-M919 using stock rom Android 4.4.4 with all OTA updates. Phone was moved to MetoPCS a year ago.
There is no coverage at my home so I rely on wifi calling to make and receive calls. For the last year it has worked just fine but in the last week I began having a very frustrating problem:
If I MAKE a call over the wifi, no problem I can hear them and they can hear me.
If I RECEIVE a call over wifi, I can hear them but they CANNOT hear me.
When I am not on wifi calling (ie using cell), everything works perfectly both making and receiving calls.
I researched the problem and this is what I have tried so far:
1. connecting to different wifi connections in entirely different locations - same problem
2. using bluetooth headphones or speaker instead of the mike - same problem
3. disabling Google Now Voice on every screen - same problem
4. factory reset - same problem
5. made sure I do not have any phone recorder apps installed (I do not)
6. switching the mute button on and off during a call - no change
Can someone please give me some advice or direct me to an answer. Needless to say Metropcs tech support is unable to solve the problem. For me this issue is not trival as I require wifi calling at home as I am in a rural area with no service.
Thank you
This happens to me as well. However, if i am to say "answer", and allow the voice command to answer the call it works properly but starts the call in speaker mode. Then you just turn off speaker, and conduct the call normally.
This has happened to me with most of the roms i have tried.
Haven't you tried on regular call? You listed no coverage in your area.. but, it should be some where 10-20miles away your area..

Yes, If I drive to a covered area and am not on wireless the calls work perfectly in both directions.
Do you figure out yet? I get a sch-m919 has reversal problem of yours. It make wifi call fine. When make regular phone call, they can't hear me and I get hear them. I guess, we have to try out the custom rom.
Hello everyone, I've been lurking here all weekend as I've been trying to stabalize this phone I bought off of Kijiji. Right off the bat, when I
installed the sim I forgot to turn off the phone . Haha, I was extremely tired & only when I removed the battery (of course) did I realize what
had happened. Ever since the sim has been in, the signal has been unstable every 5-10-15 to 30 minutes (this is without running POGO). By
unstable, I mean both data & most importantly calls. I won't be able to make or receive, when I place the call during these failures it will
say dialing, connecting... and just continue until "call ended". And when I"m called, outside of LTE just say we've forwarded your call to VM. On
LTE, it will say something along the lines of this customer isn't able to receive your call at the moment.
Troubleshooting Attempts:
- Tried SIM in a different phone & it worked perfectly
- Power Cycled Several times, Factory reset it 3 times
- Set up 2 APN's (sorry can't link yet, but google them if u like they're ez to find. LG G4 VM Canada APN's)
- ^ Tried both, both unstable, but PDA gives most stability
- I've registered to all available networks under GSM/HSPA/LTE all unstable
- Connected Automatically & Manually to GSM/HSPA/LTE together & separately. All unstable
- Phone is not in Air Plane mode

Now, I have just recently come across a very interesting development. Using the App Network Signal Refresh Lite,
In pokemon go I've been able to transition to a signal that will stay solid for up to 5 minutes, 3 on average. It will still
lose connection, but will usually reconnect in-app in moments. I do have to minimize it & do a refresh again in NSRL
every now and then but it's a big improvement. Before hand, when I would use go, the service (calls included) would
completely rip in seconds.
So... any ideas? I'll appreciate any & all help.
I've flashed every stock rom I can for the device too, but the signal continues to drop regardless of the OS. Some error messages I' ve gotten are emergency calls only, no service & service disabled but usually it just shows that its connected to virgin but I can't make or receive calls.
Other than the cellular service, everything else with the phone works perfectly. The wifi, the camera, the gps, etc it would be a shame to have to get rid of it but the essentials first. I have to be able to make calls.
Please, anyone, any ideas? Are there any apps I can install to fix the broadband or something.
It won't remain stable no matter what I do... and no one has any solutions
tips, thoughts or ideas? Really regretting this purchase now... It's been a
month and I still cannot get a stable connection. This is ridiculous.

You may want to check out this link (https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h812-firmwares/) for an H81220X Bell/Virgin kdz (H81220x_00_1122.kdz) and use LGUP-NEW to install it. It might help but if not, you may be facing a hardware issue ...
Solved lg g4 losing signal
I bought my lg g4 K450 and within days l noticed my phone was losing signal constantly. By the grace of God l tried this and it worked.
Go to settings---Then to Network---To more---To Mobile networks----To network operators. Select search network. All available networks will be displayed after a thorough scan. Select your network provider with a WCDMA instead of GSM and it will register it. After it done registering, restart the phone. and u are good to go. It worked for me, if it works for u give glory to God.

Hi guys,
On 6.0.1 I had no problems with this phone, really good. But after official OTA update on Nougat I found an issue - sometimes when I want to call someone, I don't hear ringing tone and calling session ends after few (appr. 8 - 10 seconds) automatically. Sometimes people told me that "I was unavailable" when they tried to call me - but my phone HAD PROPER signal. I'm from capital city without any signal issues - it never happened to me on previous phones.
Does anyone of you have the same problem? I downgraded back to 6.0.1 and no problem.
* I also upgraded to 7.0 via Odin, but problem with calls in Nougat occurred again!
My config:
Connections / Mobile Networks / Network Mode : LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)
PS: I don't wanted to change Network Mode to pure 2G because from time to time I need to use data connection when no WiFi is nearby. And today's browsing web via 2G is crazy Maybe I should change it only to 3G...but with pure 3G there's signal problem in some buildingz... I also didn't try Factory Reset - my fault
So if anyone of you dealt with this issue, please let me know!
Thx
I had similar issue with M even when I had good signal, after restart I recieved the SMS about missed call. I did then factory reset and switched to 2G and I think it helped. Now on Nougat, luckily, I am not having these problems anymore, and hope they wont occur, but I have to mention that I am using 2G, since i dont use data.
Pandotaz - Thank you very much for info! I'll try it again, 1st I make Factory Reset. If no help, I'll switch to pure 3G. If still no help, I'll use only pure 2G and will see...
Looks solved. I cleared cache and data on 6.0.1, made Factory Reset. After that I installed 7.0 via OTA. Cleared cache & data once again, Factory Reset again. Restored data from Smart Switch backup, but without Settings and Network. Everything looks good now on 7.0
Glad to hear that!
