I have an extended battery (2600). I was wondering, what does everyone do to get the most out of their extended battery if you have one? I'm hoping to get tips and or tricks from my fellow EVO users. If you have nothing positive to say, please don't post.. Any help is appreciated.

Are you rooted?
I use the stock battery on my rooted Evo and it lasts all day.
It really does depend on weather your rooted or not cuz on my stock battery I can go about a day in a half maybe a couple hours less MAYBE but then I have a Seidio 3500 mAh that can go exactly 2 days 1 hour and 38 minutes with heavy heavy use and also on a charge of 93 percent
So again are you rooted?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712990 check that thread, ever since i followed the steps my battery life is so much better. its been off the charger since midnight and i browsed fb for like 30 minutes, texted my wife n browsed the market for a bit and its only down to 89%. btw im using the stock battery.

Not really lol I think that's pretty good I'm guessing that you got that with moderate/heavy use?
You may wanna give another ROM a shot and see cuz battery life may very between them. As well as kernels.

Will give that one a go. I dled it a few days ago but i accidentally deactivated my EVO lol luckily i unrooted it and got it back to root just now so im going to give that one a go
Any stock kernel will not charge any extended battert correctly. I experimented with this for the last month.
I found an app called boot manager and now have 4 roms installed on my phone. At night I boot into a Froyo ROM with a SBC kernel and charge it, then in the am, boot into my Gingerbread ROM.

Yep. If I don't use my phone it will last all day and lose about 1.5% every two hours. I just recently switched to my current setup and am still not used to it. I'll unplug my phone at ~95% and head out the door. I'll pull it out of my pocket a number of hours later and see that it's only down to about 93% - 92%. Before I switched my setup I would've been down the low 80's if not lower. When I use it my battery depends on what I am doing with it and what I have my scaling set to. Using my phone for things like texting, facebook, email, and some web browsing on Skyfire, which is what I would consider heavy use, it goes down about 3.5% per hour. Yesterday I went to my little niece's dance class and I used my phone to record video of her entire 60 minute dance class. Battery went down about 30% percent from that but that's to be expected. I remained out of the house for another 8 hours after her class and my phone still had 50% battery left by the time I got home. Wireless tether eats up my battery. But Thats because I am usually tethering while texting and testing launchers and such on my phone.
I do all of this on a stock battery. So I can only imagine how much I'd be able to do with an extended battery.
I get 30+ hours on my extended battery 2600 from sprint. LOL on warm 2.2

see i ran WTPT for a long time because i loved the stability of it as well as the awesome batteyr life of it along with the option to SBC on the fly like SAV-ZEN. I'm not going to lie though, I love the GB's along with the carousel LMAO! X) i bet thats whats eating away at my battery lol
After reading up on batteries I was contemplating to go extended or stock.
I found 10 buck stock batteries (oem). I figured that since it is OEM, i'll give em a whirl. Assuming they are not already a year old... i should get some battery life back.
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Original-...FVEE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1319378971&sr=8-6
Has anyone else seen these or checked em out?
oh yeah - the title is wrong. it's a 1450 battery, same as stock. (i'll be checking into this when it arrives)
This seems to be an original stock. So, hopefully I get better life than my worn out stock.
If not, it may be time for the 2100.

These work great. They get you back to the battery life you had a year ago. I am pleased with the results.
Edit: been rocking this for several days and am really enjoying solid 24hrs+ battery life. Would recommend.

Hello!
Was wondering what everyones batteries are like now? I got my phone when it first came out but over the past week or so I've noticed it going down much quicker? I did recently install AVG but doubt that would make such a big difference?
How's everyone else feeling after about 18 months or so?
ofc it is decreasing its life, bought 15 months ago and im getting about an hour less of on screen time. It's normal don't worry.

I understand that but I think I'm getting about 3/4 hours less over the past week so was just wondering how others peoples batteries have been after a similar duration in months. I wish I was only losing 1 hour. Might need to replace the battery now or just hold out till Sept and upgrade.
hmm take a look at the battery because it seems that it is or a software problem (new rom, new app instaled (AVG may be, try uninstalling and check) or something) or the battery is getting inflated. Check it because it is dangerous and it can explode.

Hi Everyone,
I have recently purchased Micromax Andriod one mobile for my mom. The battery for her lasts 14 hours as she does not use this mobile a lot. But somewhere down the line I feel that some time will come where I need to get a replacement battery soon. I wanted to ask that can I use 3000 mAh battery or higher capacity battery than the present one (1700 mAh)?

There is no 3000 mAh battery available for Micromax Canvas A1 currently. You can try using it if it comes in the market in the future.
As for the battery life, that is pretty low what you are getting. If the mobile is not being used, i.e it is in standby and you are getting just 14 hours then there is something wrong, the standby of this phone is pretty good, I use it moderately and I get around 24 hours of battery life, And when I am at home, connected to Wifi and minimal usage easily gives me over 24 hours of battery life. I have also got a whopping 51 hours of battery life once on a single charge with WiFi and minimal usage, i.e when my phone was on standby most of the time.
Can you tell me exactly how is the phone being used? What sort of apps are installed? Its on 3G/2G/WiFi? How is the signal reception? etc. Maybe I could help you more.

Thank you for your response. Actually its my mistake, instead of typing 34 hours I typed 14 hours in hurry Sorry for that. Coming to the battery issue. Somewhere down the line the battery backup is going to deteriorate, so as a caution I wanted to know that is buying a higher mAh battery (if available) would be witty or not? As I heard there are some differences in Voltage and Ampers. Eg. I saw one battery for A116 it had 3000 mAh and 3.7 volts and 7.4Wh. While for Andriod one it had 1700 mAh, 3.8 Volts and 6.46 Wh. So this difference would canse any harm or not?? That is exactly I want to know.

34 hours is pretty normal I would say.
Yes, its natural for the battery capacity to deteriorate, however, it depends on you too. You have to practice good habits of charging in order to preserve the overall life of the battery. Follow those and you should be good for a year or two. By that time we will obviously get batteries for sale in the market which you can replace. It is advisable that you don't put other phone's battery into some other phone, yes, I know both are of micromax and might have the same dimensions, but as you mentioned there are differences at electrical level, which might or might not cause your device to misbehave, why take risk and make the situation worse?
So it's better you make use of the default battery properly by practicing good charging habits and make it run as long as possible, later on if we get a 3000 mAh for our phone then you can surely go for it or even replace the default battery with a new one as I mentioned earlier.

i don't think it is safe;;//
At the first place it doesn't seem a battery to be officially produced by micromax
and watt per hour is different on 1700mAh andon 2200mAh (with a difference of 0.1 v input)
So i suggest you not to take the risk of damaging your phone except for you really want to test it..(wont be a big damage it should be reparable )

I have my device maybe some less than 2 years.. and the battery dont good...
I check in the settings and dont have any app that drain my battery.
But If I replace it my device dont waterproof again?
My battery life is also terrible. I believe it to be the latest updates as the first beta release of android 10 the battery life was amazing
So it because the updates?
bad company
I believe so. They make battery life bad so you upgrade to a new phone. I have 5 year old iphones with better battery life than s9. Terrible company.
I did not notice any drastic change in battery life after the Android 10 upgrade. However, you've likely had the phone for around 2 years - probably charging it every day. These types of batteries start to degrade after ~500 charge cycles.
Use this app as a way to understand your battery's health: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS9/comments/8vgp76/how_has_your_s99_fared_so_far_in_terms_of_battery/
You may want to consider having the battery changed. Samsung Experience stores charge $50 for the new battery (including installation), and most other Samsung certified repair shops (in the US) seem to charge around that price as well.

In this app I cant see the health... I need root..
It was recommend to buy new one and replace?
I think it was better to buy mid-phones anything because it was better with battery life for years
Hmm.. I see that the health indicator (which was an estimate I suppose) is no longer listed in the app. How many Battery Discharge Cycles do you have listed? (listed under "Personal")

Of course you're joking. My friend's iPhone 6 can't even last for 2 hours !
My Exynos S9's battery life isn't great either (I've been using it for 2 years), it's just on par with iPhone X's battery life. I still get 8 to 10 hours of use with 3 hours of screen on time which isn't terrible. I should tell you that I use my phone too much when it's charging and sometimes I use it heavily, and all of this leads to heating which has a big impact on battery life, so your battery should last more if you aren't a heavy user.

Am not actually joking. I have an iphone 7 in my household which lasts alot longer than my s9.
I get around 2-3 hours on time which is the same as you which i believe is actually terrible. When i first bought this phone i could play on it for hours on end and it would still last till the end of the day. Now i have to avoid going on it as i know it will kill the battery after 2-3 hours. This was brilliant on android oreo when i first bought the phone, ever since its first update it has been ridiculous. I signed up to beta test android 10 and the first ever beta that was released the battery life was amazing. It was like it was brand new again and i could use it all day long without it killing the battery. As they kept the updates coming it kept getting worse until they released the stable version and its been terrible again ever since.
I believe it to be software related as some batteries can last a lifetime, i have lots of chargeable items around the house which i have had for years and they are still as good as they where when i first bought them. I also believe the exynos is worse than the snapdragon. I don't know why but maybe someone will.

It is an option, but i would only be inclined to do this if somebody can confirm it will improve. I however doubt it will. I found changing the power setting from high performance to optimised mode made the battery life a bit better, however it defeats the object of having an s9 and not running at a setting it is designed to.

Yea snapdragon is a bit better. And I agree on many things around the house. Still work good. Maybe try an older version of bit nber on your bootloader. An older update if you can
