Old Customizer need help - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello everyone I have searched high and low to try and figure out what I am doing wrong here. About 6 months ago I was set on leaving the custom firmware scene and go back to stock. Did the appropriate steps through odin and flashed the newest firmware at the time(not even sure which one it was). Anyway I had an issue with my WIFI not even being able to be turned on at all. You would tap the icon to light up but to no avail. I am back to my old custom firmware which is JEDI X20(4.1.2) and am looking to upgrade to 5.0/1(lollipop) I am sure ATT has not gotten around to updating to it for the Note 2 so I am looking to go the custom route and take one of my choosing. My only concern is will I have a problem with my WIFI again. I know I had briefly read about some modem or baseband that was needed from Gingerbread to make WIFI work? Is this still the case? Out of anything I need working it's my WIFI.
Thanks in advanced

[Q] Band Handover/voice network issues

So I have been waiting patiently for the 4.3 update to roll out to me OTA with hopes that it would fix my issues but my phone has been saying download interrupted and so I have gone back to completely stock and triangle away to get my device status back to normal but it still wont let me download. When looking around for other possible causes I saw that my build number is JRO03L.I747UCDLK3 which comes up as a build number for a nexus 7, the correct build number for my att should be JRO03C. I have no idea how it got that way but I am wondering if the person who bricked it might have put the wrong version of the bootloader or some other part of the firmware on and it somehow didn't brick but is detecting a conflict and not letting me OTA. Or that is what is causing my cell network issues as well. Wanting input from a a few devs as I am not 100% sure what the first part of the build number represents.
Ok guys and girl, I am having a really weird issue with my Att Gs3 that I wanted to see if anyone could help with. To start off a little bit of background. I Hard bricked my s3 in August, sent it for tag and got it back working and stock with no issues. All I did was root the phone for fear of messing it up again but it was running all stock without problems for over a month since the unbrick. About 3 weeks ago I went out of town within the state but a ways away, I was talking on the phone with a co-worker right before leaving town. At some point that evening I get a a text from my wife asking why I was ignoring her calls, I had never received them and according to my phone was in the middle of prime 4g lte zone in San Antonio but I was apparently only receiving that lte signal and the phone was not switching to the voice network on 4g to make or receive calls, I was even able to voice chat with my wife but I couldn't just call her normally. After returning home I was still unable to make or receive calls unless it was right after a restart and I had to try about 15 times, so I called att and tried all of their bs which didn't make a difference at all. Looking around on the internet I found the number that you can put in to get into service mode and switched it to gsm or wcdma only and voila I could make calls again. The only problem with that being that I travel within a city for work and move from 4g to 3g to edge all the time but if I have it set for wcdma only then I have no signal and have to take the time to pull up service mode to switch back and forth. So I tried going back to completely stock again by resetting/ formatting all and flashing the stock rom via odin, my issue persisted so I also decided to flash synergy rom (which I was running prior to the hard brick) and then intergalactic because I saw the fewest problems with it to no avail. I have flashed each stock modem new and old which made no difference at all. Today I was messing around in service mode and found an area that was called handover, in that subsection you have the option for checking the phones ability to switch from gsm to wcdma and back as well as to hspa, when I select any of those options I get the message "temporary block due to build e" or " temporary block code".
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what the possible problem could be, imei, modem hardware, or a stubborn stuck modem firmware setting.
I was also wondering if anyone had any experience with figuring out how to re-enable handover because that is where I feel my problem is, either through adb or any programs that let me force change the settings, I would also be happy if someone knew how to turn of only LTE and have both gsm and wcdma on at the same time.
Any help would be much appreciated, I have tried everything I know how to do, but am to the point where I am forced to look at new hardware because my wife is pregnant and I really needs to be able to get a hold of me any time.

if you have CM recovery or TWRP you can go back, wipe everything even twice could help, then flash a stock rom reboot and see what happens
if that doesnt work go back to odin and install stock firmware 4.1.2 from Samsung but again you have to wipe data/factory reset
3rd if that doesnt work, try to restore your EFS folder/files using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839
that link has everything, how to fix it, anything you need to know
BUY a new phone or use a different phone if all the options above fail

The backup restore/fix imei and data restore tools link doesn't go anywhere, does anyone have a link to the restore tool? The only version I can find is for the non us version of the s3.
I did at least use the tool for the 9300 to find out that I have some 000 for s/n and other numbers (see attachment)
is there a patch out for us gs3's to fix this like there is for the i9300?

I think I can help, I just need to pull up some files and I might get you the software or program I used to back -up and restore my EFS folder/files
Even fix it, so plz hang in there........will report back later on
Thanks a bunch, I am still trying all kinds of stuff but I feel pretty certain that the problem lies with a messed up efs and I don't think I have a backup unless doing a nandroid covers that as well, which I am not seeing that it does. Any further help is appreciated, is this something that a local cell repair shop can typically fix or is this a possible new phone situation?

this is the software/programme i used to back-up, recover or even fix my EFS files (if they are corrupt and can be used) NV items reader writer
type it on google and pretty sure you will find something , try different links and again am sure you will find a download
have you tried flashing the new 4.3 stock firmware and modem follow this link for everything http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233 or you can wait for AT&T to release the official 4.3 firmware and that will be 100% satified to be stable and will fix all your EFS/IMEI problems FOR GOOD
i have the NV items reader writer software that can fix your problems but i dont know how i can share it with you without breaking any rules
ULTIMATE/final solution send it to MOBILETECHVIDEOS and will fix it like its nothing, take it to samsung and have to play some ball, or BUY A NEW PHONE

[Q] Help with note 2 flashed 4.1.1 jellybean stock rom ,cant connect to my carrier.!!

First off i just want to say sorry if this is in the wrong thread but this seemed like the best one.OK so yesterday night i wanted to record my screen on my new Note 2.So i downloaded some screen recording software and none of them worked i tryed for hours trying to fix it until i read online that most screen recording apps don't work with the latest android version 4.3 with knox.So i looked online and tryed to downgrade to 4.2.1 hearing that all screen recording works on 4.2 so i looked for my note 2 stock firmware with 4.2 not .4.3.I
When i flashed my rom i forgot the last step and i though it was bricked then i read the last step was just to factory reset so i did that and everything worked it booted up and did what it usually did.And then i noticed that i wasent getting signal which i though was normal considering i never get service at my house(metropcs...).Anyways my carrier is metropcs and then i looking in my baseband and it was different then the original!
This was my original: T889UVUCMK7
Now its this:T889UVALJ1
Now this my own idea but im no expert on android but i think i changed the baseband which effect the signal. At first i tryed to take out the sim and put it back in and it worked i got signal for like 30 signals..then it reverted to tmobile even though i dont have tmobile service.I would really appreciate it if anyone could help atm i am downloading the original stock rom 4.3.I am going to try to flash the stock firm ware with the MK7 base band using odin to my phone hopefully it will restore the base band to the original.
p.s:When i check my setting and look at mobile networks its APN is t mobile i tryed putting a metropcs apn but it dident work...
-sorry if this is kind of hard to understand since i am writing this stressed over this...

[Q] second hand i371, trying to Un-root

I apologize if i am not as clear in this post as I need to be. My dad tried to root his note 2 sgh i371 using odin but said that once he did this, he was unable to access the internet outside of connecting to wifi, he could not get any cellular data. Because of this issue, he tried to then un-root his phone by flashing 4.1.2 stock rom. Unfortunately, the issue of not being able to get cellular data persists. In his frustration, my dad bought a note 3 and gave his note 2 to me saying that if I could fix it I could keep it. This is my first android and I would like to make it my primary phone if possible. what I would like to simply to reset the phone to factory default settings by flashing the latest stock rom for the phone. I have Odin, I was hoping that someone could tell me where I could get the latest stock rom and, if they believed that flashing it would fix the cellular data issue. I do not believe my dad made a backup at all. Thank you in advance.

[Q] Help with modem

Hello, I used to own a GS3 and had it rooted and everything just fine, but I sold it when I broke the screen. I recently purchased a used one off Ebay and want to get back root and custom ROM. The seller had the firmware updated to 4.4.2 stock and of course it is bloated to hell. I managed to get the root installed, however I flashed a new rom and modem and now have no network connection. I have tried modems LK3, MJ2, and MJB and none have worked. Also, somewhere down the line I managed to break the wifi, as when I try to turn on wifi it instantly switches off.
I remember it being very easy to root back when the device first came out, I was on a Galaxy Nexus previously and everything. Another thing to note, once I got the root installed I made a backup in cwm and even restoring this backup I have broken modem and wifi. How ****ed is my phone?
EDIT: I managed to find the elusive NE4 modem that was not in the "all modems" thread. This fixed my issue. Feel free to close thread mods

WiFi will not turn on...

Hi. I have a Sprint Samsung Note 4. I was getting a screen overlay error and decided now would be the time to change the ROM on the Note.
I followed the steps from "How to Install CyanogenMod on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Sprint ("trltespr")"
After I installed the first ROM, which was the latest nightly, and booted it up, I noticed that the WIFI says "Turning on" but doesn't ever turn on. It's greyed out in settings as well. I tried a few different nightly's thinking it was a defective file or bad install. Still no fix.
So then I went http://www.grantbarker.com/samsung-galaxy-note-4.html to try different roms, and I get the exact same issue.
Now I'm thinking that there is something I'm missing that the original ROM had. And for some reason the backup I made from it is missing, so I can't go back to it either. Is there a way to fix the wifi? It kind of sucks without it. Thanks for any advice that could help.
Were you on Marshmallow or Lollipop stock? Sounds like you have the wrong bootloader and that may be the reason. You would either have to flash the recommended stock tar or bootloader or bootloader and baseband.
I don't keep up with CM but the thing to check for is recommended bootloader in OP or search the thread. You may find it necessary to flash OK1 or OG5 bootloader. Dunno, maybe check for the baseband too for CM.
There's a bootloader and baseband thread in the development forum for Sprint Note 4. You should find what you need to flash in Odin AP mode. The ones labeled firmware are bootloaders.

You could probably try reverting to the factory settings and checking if the WiFi works? And then, you could change it to the current ROM again. This might help you resolve the WiFi issue.
