Dear members,
After connecting the HOX with the USB cable, the phone is not recognized
as a SD card/Disk Drive, but as a camera only.
Is it a permanent function of JB, if NO, pls help to rectify it.
Note:- USB debugging is ON
My phone is stock
Sync manager uptp date, but still not recognizing.
JB uses the mtp file transfer protocol, please search for this. It has been mentioned a lot here ! And there are enough posts already regarding this "problem" !

Hello Everyone,
I looked around in the forums for a bit but I haven't been able to find a reply so here goes nothing. Sorry if this is a double post in advance :S
So I recently decided to flash a rom on my phone and I chose the AT&T/Canadian version of the stable LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 rom. Everything on the rom works great but I've realized I don't have kies on my phone anymore, and that my computer no longer recognizes my phone when I open kies and connect it to my phone. Well this is a problem for me because I used to transfer all my multimedia through kies and I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer files the same way again. Is there a way for me to get my computer to recognize my phone again once I plug it in and open up kies? Or do I have to use other alternatives? If I do need other alternatives, what do you guys recommend? I mostly just want to transfer songs and videos and pictures are a bonus as well.
Thanks a lot in advance and Happy Easter!
Do you have a windows computer with windows vista or xp? If so, you can simply drag and drop your files into your phone after connecting it.

I actually have a Mac and only have a partition with Windows 7 :S
Have you tried android file transfer? It's an application made for macs. Be sure to select the camera option when connecting to your computer because it won't recognize MTP.

When I connect android file transfer with Camera it'll say "Please connect your Android device with a USB cable to get started" and when I try using MTP it'll say "Try reconnecting or restarting your device". Is there any other way? Thank you

This thread is specifically for Windows 8.1 mass storage issues
Please post in correct threads
I will answer only once to avoid off topic conversation
Kies is not required - uninstall it
Uninstall any drivers you have
Goto my firmware thread (links in signature)
Download the USB drivers from there
Install them
If your pc cannot detect your phone there is something wrong with it - try different cable/port
What is written on the 1st post is for Windows 8.1 only!
USB tethering will probably only work in stock rom - if you have a custom rom especially cm it is probably broken
In that case use pdanet from the playstore & install pdanet on pc (instructions in the app)

Like I said this isn't the correct thread for this so no more off topic please
If your PC or whatsoever has a wifi. Try the portable wifi hotspot located on your connectivity settings.
This topic must be on the right thread. Next time, if you'll be asking something. Post on the Q&A thread.
Hi guys.
I have a GT-I9515 with a broken screen. I tried to change the default.prop file to enable the debugging mode, but after that I can't connect the device to my pc. When I connect the phone to the USB port, the phone just starts to charge, with no signal of connection (like mass storage or debugging mode).
I need the file "default.prop" from GT-I9515 to try to recover this function. Can anyone share this file with me?
UPDATE: Sorry guys. I've created this thread in the wrong place. I'm trrying to move the thread to the "Troubleshooting" section, with no success.
