[REQUEST] Tweak names of Optimus 2X, G2X forums

I'd like to bring this thread to the attention of moderators:

The name "Optimus 2x" has become ambiguous because it refers to two different models now:
In Europe and Asia: Optimus 2x = LG P990, with the LG UI customizations.
In Canada: Optimus 2x = LG P999, same device as T-mobile G2x, with the stock like UI. But they didn't call the G2x because T-mobile items that trademark.
There is already a thread in which a few Canadian users almost bricked their P999 by following P990 instructions.
Could we please do something to resolve this ambiguity? At the very least put the model numbers into the forum titles.
Rename LG Optimus 2x -> LG P990: Optimus 2x
Rename T-mobile G2x -> LG P999: T-mobile G2x & CDN Optimus 2x
That way everybody ends up in the right forum and nobody's phone gets bricked. Any thoughts?

I think you've answered one of my questions! I live in Canada and have the LG Optimux 2x (P999). Is it the same as the G2X?
I'm not sure which forum to search in (the LG Optimus 2x or the T-Mobile G2X)?
By seeing this:

...I assume I have to look in the T-Mobile G2X forum if I want info about my phone and not the LG Optimux 2x forum, even though my phone is an LG?

Correct. The P999 means you look in the G2X forum.
Just to confuse things further, now Fido Canada has released the Optimus 2X as well but it's not the same device at all as the one on Wind. I believe it's a variant of the P990 with 850/1900/2100 3G. I don't yet know what the model number is. There's a chance that the baseband from both previously released variants could brick out.

I'm new to this. This is my first smartphone and I was confused between LG Optimux 2x, T-Mobile G2x, P990 and P999.
I know I have a P999 but it's a LG, not a T-Mobile, that's why I got confused.
I will now do my searches under the T-Mobile G2x forum.
I really hope the moderators will listen to your suggestion and change the forum names. It would help newbies like me!

So I have a Optimus P990hn from Fido, but you guys are saying this is the European/Asian model number?

Optimus 2X P990 (without hn) = European/Asian with 900/1900/2100 3G and LG interface
Optimus 2X P990hn = Fido Canada with 850/1900/2100 and LG interface
Optimus 2X P999 = Videotron & Mobilicity with AWS/2100 3G and stock-like interface
G2X P999 = T-Mobile with AWS/2100 3G and stock-like interface

I just bricked my fido p990hn...I tried flashing a new theme is there any way I can fix this? I used a p990 theme

Can you still boot into custom recovery?
Did you ever take a nandroid backup?

Then you will have to find someone who took a backup of their stock Fido O2X. Anyway I see you started a thread in the O2X forum so I guess it should be addressed there not here.

Yes this definitely needs changing, there are a lot of P999 O2X's popping up in the P990 section.
Looks like someone's flashed their P999 O2X with some P990 stuff and it's not done it any good (no service).

Looks like you have been monitoring this. Could you do a favour a paste links here anytime a P999 O2x thread pops up in the O2x forum?
And please! Moderators, we need to get your attention! Is there a list of moderators for the Optimus 2X and G2x forums?

LG G PRO Vesrion

Hello!
First of all, sorry for new topic, but I didn't want to BUMP all topics.
I need your help
I will order LG Optimus G PRO online.
They are offering F240 for 40$ lower than E980
As I was reading few posts on XDA i found out that F240(Korean version) will work fine in Europe after some modification to build.prop. (By work fine i mean 3G, LTE, and GSM(telephone)signal.)
Can you confirm this for me please.

Yeah you should be fine, my G Pro is originally an E986 (French Europe) and I'm running datphu's G3 Rom that turned it into an E988 (HK) lol
I get 4G and good signal as if I was on the stock rom. So yeah, I think you should try to install a custom rom, you're lucky, there are plenty of good ones that mimick LG G3
But keep in mind that the F models from Korea do have some problems with custom roms and carriers from other countries so be careful when you are getting these kind of offers.

H812 on T-Mobile

Just wondering if I can use the Bell LG G4 H812 on the T-Mobile network if I get it unlocked.

Yes, no problem. I've used the following on their network I am on Rogers normally... LG G2 (D803), LG G4 (H812) and LG G4 (H815T) are all working with T-Mobile.
Roam Mobility's sim uses T-Mobile's network in the US so if you don't unlock your G4, it will still work fine.

LG G3 Models : which one should I buy for using Custom ROMs?

Hi Guys,
I am willing to buy a mid-range smartphone. I have some options like Moto G, Honor 5X, One Plus X etc. But, I want to go with the LG G3 to try my luck., as It'll be upgraded to Marshmallow. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing or not. I need your experienced advice on that.
But, I also can see there are several models of LG G3 here in US:
LG G3 D855 - International Version
LG G3 D851 - T-mobile, US
LG G3 D850 - AT&T, US
LG G3 LS990 - Sprint, US
LG G3 VS985 - Verizon, US
I would like to use it both inside and outside of US. So, if I buy the International version, will I get the 4G LTE support in US? Can I root it and install Custom ROMS in it? Because, I googled it, and I saw, Only, T-mobile version comes with Unlocked Boot-loader. Is it true?
Please, let me know, And, it would be great, if you suggest me some better place to buy this phone online. Thanks in advance.

Check gsm lte bands are listed there for each model. Although the international model has the most custom rom support and has an fm radio. And nop there are no bootloader issues with the g3.

Thanks I think I'll go with the International version.

beware of fake D855s and you will not get LTE coverage, at least with AT&T. For these reasons I went with the 851. Good luck

No LTE on the d855 in the USA. Although it really is the best version to go with, be aware of that. In the USA at least, you'll mostly run on HDSAP+ which really is fast enough for a mobile in my opinion. (Usually from 7 to 21 Mb/s)

LG G3 Vigor (D727) Fido VOLTE

Hi All,
LG G3 Vigor was the first phone that rogers released supporting VolTE, since rogers also owns fido I bought a used fido lg g3 vigor with hopes to use it with volte. However the moment I attempt to make a call I see that LTE is changing to 4g and I don't see an option to select VOLTE either..
Does anyone know how force/select Volte wit this phone?
