Will a Verizon Note 4 work with Sprint network? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would work with Sprint network? If so, I'm assuming it will have to be unlocked?
Thanks!

Verizon Note 4 has a IMEI number that cannot and will not be added to sprints database. Where as the Sprint Note 4 uses a ESN/MEID which will not work by simply swapping the LTE sim for GSM sim.
Answer no. Not never.

[Q] Which Note II to buy

Initially I thought there were two variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 2, N7100 and N7105(LTE) but it looks like there are more.
I checked the NOTE 2 at my local T-Mobile store and it was SGH-T889.
I am planning to buy a (no contract/unlocked) Note 2 with LTE support. I can buy the unlocked N7105 online but it costs $825.
I was thinking of buying the retail t-mobile SGH-T889 for $650 plus taxes but I am concerned:
1) T-mobile support told me that I will not be able to use any other SIM.
2) Even if I get it unlocked from (cellunlocker.net), will I get any carrier LTE coverage ?
I frequently travel (international) so would like to have a Note 2 which supports LTE for multiple carriers ?
As per this Anandtech, T-mobile note 2 was unlocked and it picked up ATT LTE.
Phandroid also confirmed that t-mobile supports LTE.
I had a chat with Negrielectronics support and they informed that n7105 does not support ATT LTE.
Experts, please suggest/confirm if the t-mobile note 2 will support LTE overall ?
Thanks
LTE are carrier specific in the US. US Lte are incompatible with international Lte. That's why there are different models gsm of iPhone 5.
Buy the Lte model for the place where you spend your most time.

Doesn't Verizon use LTE on the 700 band just like AT&T and future TMobile LTE?

Doesn't Verizon use LTE on the 700 band just like AT&T and future TMobile LTE?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
Please correct me if I'm wrong, thank you.
Yes, they do, but there are different sub-bands on each frequency. I'm not sure you'll be able to use our phones on VZW, which seems to be where you're heading.
Even if you could for data, until vice over LTE comes, you couldn't do voice (cdma) on Verizon.

but can't you do voice with verizons note 2 if the phone is used with an AT&T or Tmobile microsim card?
verizon's note is capable of gsm as well and supports the frequencies of AT&T and Tmobile if unlocked, is that so?
aren't the phones from verizon sold unlocked?

Yes but their boot loader is encrypted so you will have a hard time changing kernels. Also I do not know for sure their note 2 is SIM unlocked. Most phones are but some are not (think iPhone which they wont unlock for use in US only overseas)

My T-Mobile Note 2 is sim unlocked. I can pop my own AT&T sim in it and get voice and 3G data no problem.
I tried the sim from my Verizon S3 in the Note and while it displayed signal bars for voice only, and any attempt to make a call resulted in a message about not being registered on the network.
Verizon is word about letting non stop Verizon phones on their network, and even if the phone is compatible on the GSM, that doesn't mean they'll just let you bring any device to the party.

T-Mobile Note 2 > AT&T Note 2 > Verizon Note 2
The above is an order in terms of which Note 2 is more flexible in switching between carriers,
Overall, T-Mobile has the best Note 2, right?
Agree or Disagree?
Winlinmac001: you have to sort out your priorities, get a phone, enjoy it and move on...
Pick your carrier first.
If its Verizon, then get their model, not much else to it really. Until they get VoLTE operational and ditch CDMA completely (many years to go) your phone has to be activated in their system. Expect no, or limited support for US GSM carriers.
If it's T-Mobile, one of their MVNOs (or even a non-LTE AT&T MVNO), or you want to be able to switch to those with a minimum of fuss: T889. The clincher here is the HSPA AWS support that you'll need to get any meaningful speeds in non-refarmed areas. From what I understand only T-Mobile has DC-HSPA (42 Mbps) whereas AT&T only has 21 Mbps.
If it's AT&T: are you in an LTE market? do you care for LTE? If yes: I317. You're certain to get LTE right now with this one, with no concerns about cross-flashing modems or waiting for some firmware update that could take a while to come on the T889.
T-Mobile
It's settled then; T-Mobile Galaxy Note II it is; especially since it is compatible with most networks compared to AT&T's variant; and that it is a true global phone. Thank you.

[Q] Unlocked AT&T phones can verizon sim be used?

I am looking to purchase an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 and need the following question answered... I am aware of the unlock link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014982 that uses the method of dialing the following keys *#197328640# but here is my concern... Does this method allow you to use a Verizon Sim as if you had purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 2? In other words does it unlock the CDMA band also?
Thanks for any correct information...

Until vzw goes to VoIP in the next few years the only thing the sim supports is 4g data. Because lte is a gsm based network, sim cards are needed. Nothing else in a Verizon phone used the sim so no you would not receive full service using a vzw sim. Not sure if you'd receive data or not but I'm betting no
Verizon uses CDMA for voice, and CDMA/LTE for data. Not only are the LTE frequencies incompatible, but CDMA is incompatible as well. So no, the Note 2 will not work AT ALL on Verizon.
Also to note, Verizon will only let you activate VERIZON BRANDED phones on their network. You can't buy unlocked phones and use them like a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile in the US) would. Sprint is the same way.

Ok, so if I purchased a Verizon Galaxy Note 2, and rooted it, I could then use AT&T and later if I finally want to switch over to Verizon, I could... If I am mistaken about this, please let me know. Because I am trying to get a Galaxy Note 2 that will work with both GSM carriers and also work with Verizon when/if I choose to switch.
No. Verizon and AT&T phones/networks are not compatible with each other at all.

This does not exist on ANY Note 2 on earth. Possible with *SOME* other phones, but not any Samsungs, and definitely more trouble than it's worth. NONE will be LTE compatible though. 99% of the GSM compatible phones on Verizon are locked on only work internationally, and will not work AT ALL for the US.

I've been wondering about this. Can't the Verizon "international" phones be unlocked, then used with a US SIM?

"Yes. Verizon GN 2 on AT&T network. Phone is rooted. AT&T APN added with APN Manager Pro. Decent speeds too with just 2 bars. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2"
Just pulled this off of a different thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044449
Seems like the Verizon GN2 can do AT&T with data, as long as you rooted and adjust the APN file. If this is incorrect please let me and the rest of the form know how or why this is incorrect....

I already said data "could" work. That'd not the issue. Getting everything to work is what seems to be unlikely. Different frequencies for voice/text.

Any new Verizon phones can work on any GSM HSPA+ network with some trickery or are unlocked out the box. Some phones work on At&T and T-mobile while others only work with carriers outside the U.S. YMMV.

T-Mobile Note 3 working on Verizon wireless?

Can this be done? I currently have Verizon, and a Verizon Note 3. Unfortunately, we can't get aosp because of the locked bootloader, which so far hasn't been unlocked, that's if it will ever get unlocked. So I was considering trading my Verizon Note 3 for a T-Mobile note 3 if it will work on Verizon's network. Sorry if this had already been answered.
Thank you
No tmobile note 3 is GSM where Verizon uses CDMA cellular technology. Two different frequencies.
I understand that, I just thought since they use a SIM card it make work lol
In a word, no.

[Q] Is there a way i can use my sprint note 4 on T-mobile or AT&T and atleast get 3G?

No, unfortunately the GN4 is not unlockable in the U. S. It can be unlocked for international use but not in the US. Your stuck with sprint.
Not possible
No, sorry. Sprint phone's are CDMA locked, so, they can only be used on CDMA networks. This includes the Note 4. Hope I helped. :good:
