Yesterday I noticed a notification icon stating there was an update downloading. I could not kill the app or prevent it from downloading even though I've never used or enabled Wi-Fi. The process completed and the notification changed from "Update Downloading" to "Update Postponed" . At which point I still could not kill it or do anything. I checked my data usage which had in fact ran silent over my AT&T network. After several hours I got a popup stating the device is restarting and have not turned it on in fear of the 5.0 update. I have not since powered it on since and am wondering if I'm the only one this has happened to.
My phone was in my pocket when my gear said Bluetooth disconnected. This happened after the update postponed nag showed up in notifications. They forced the update over the network! Never turned on my WiFi either. I feel violated!
Lollipop?
So my suspicions are correct? 5.0 is the update?
Can it be rolled back via ODIN?
Yes it can be rolled back using Odin.

Not sure why, might be the update.
I've had this phone since Friday. Brand new from Google/Samsung. Love the phone, but when I got it, there was an update. Being stock and all, I decide its OK to update, even though I'm already 4.0.4( have T-Mobile and also heard of the data problems recently). Since then, I've been getting bug logs that start a message to Gmail to myself. Don't understand if theres an option to turn that off. Any ideas? Stock 4.0.4 IMM76l

Turn off usb debugging.
I am trying to get the update. But every time I hit software update in settings, I got the same error message that says what you see in the title of this thread. I have a stock rom, never rooted it or anything. Could someone tell me what that message means please?

Of course.....you can always root and apply update the manual way:thumbup:
Or maybe try booting in to stock recovery and wiping cache

Make sure your on Wi-Fi and make sure you have access to it.
Disconnect and connect back on the Wi-Fi network.
If not i would try killing clearing the memory (RAM) and rebooting right after.
Has always worked for me when i had issues updating.

I've been having the same problem. I turned off WiFi, turned off the device, pulled the battery and SIM card, waited 5 minutes, put it all back together, turned it back on, reconnected to WiFi, and that cleared it up. YMMV

I did all of that ant it seemed to work for a min and it attempted to connect to the att network as it is a att phone but I have a straight talk sim in it.when I put the apn settings in for straight talk I cant get any network connection
I have now proved when disconnecting from wifi, the phone locks up. Does there happen to be a new wifi radio that can be flashed that might resolve this?
The phone is not rooted
Connection Optimizer disabled
Wifi sleep disabled
Service Mode Wifi sleep disabled
Thanks
That's not normal, nor have I heard of this happening before. Have you tried the dreaded factory reset? What version, baseband are you on?

Issue resolved. It was the AT&T voicemail (uverse) app. Took a lot of trial and error to figure it out. I've never seen an app make a phone so unstable. It's now listed as a known bug in the app description.

You were using an AT&T app on a sprint phone? Is it even a compatible app?
Never mind, I went and looked at it. You threw me off when you said AT&T voicemail app. Glad you got it figured out.
After reading about the no prompt system update on the AT&T model yesterday evening, I awoke this morning to my phone automatically rebooting and installing a system update of its own. Anyone else having this problem yet?
Yea, mine updated right as I was about to watch a show on netflix. It was about 1:30AM. I dont know what changed.
I can't even force a manual update.
Yeah mine did also. What was the update for?
Mine also updated (on T-Mobile) a couple hours ago. Not sure what it fixes, but fingers crossed that it fixes the WiFi issues I'm having as well as some other folks.

Hey All was just update to 24.31.22. I think I am in a beta group. Anyhow Wifi calling is now part of the Droid 2 along with unspecified security and bug fixes..
Cool. Looking forward to it. Still just 6.0? Or 6.0.1?
Is there a new modem to go with the update? My biggest complaint ATM with my Turbo 2 is random hang-ups with the radio where nothing wants to load, or random stutters in audio when streaming music.

Have anyone experienced problem updating to the latest ota ? Mine stops with error and restarts after then it shows update not successful!
It's showing available for me now, I saw something posted about it over the weekend. Latest security patches and WiFi calling. 623 MB's, update it on WiFi.

Update installed ok for me, up to the Sept patches and 6.0.1 as mentioned. I can't get WiFi calling to enable yet.
Edit: I had to re-enable the disabled Verizon apps I shut down when I "debloated" the phone to get the WiFi set up to work. I read you just need Verizon Login but that didn't work so I turned everything back on, set it up and disabled them again. Just a tip if you disabled apps.
Update installed fine here as well. I don't care about it too much ATM though because my Nexus 6 just got 7.0.0
Just updated myself and activated wifi calling. I get marginal service at my house so it's a plus for me

It seems updating fine with everyone, my dt2 won't update for some reason.
For some reason I haven't even gotten the update ftw?

Anything happen if you tell the phone to check for updates under Settings, System Updates?
The radio issues that I was hoping were fixed are still there. Random times where there is no network connectivity despite having a decent 4G signal. I've also had times where I just randomly loose 4G and go back to 3G for a short period for no reason, then 4G just magically comes back. Never had the same issues with my Nexus 6, so I know it is a phone issue. Wife has the T2 as well, and she has random network issues as well.
I have noticed with mine yesterday that it wouldn't send a text while it had good 4g service a few times. A reboot fixed it. Only issue, besides battery life not being as good as I feel a phone like this should be, is when I am in my car either playing a podcast/music over Bluetooth and I pull into my driveway and connect to my wifi network my Bluetooth disconnects from my car and then after like 20 seconds reconnects. Not a huge issue. Just annoying. It's happened since the original marshmallow install though and FDR doesn't fix it.

I got the update like a week before my wives phone. It's that that called a soak test?
I finally got the update today. But then again I have found OTA updates very inconsistent.
Not sure if it's because my Turbo 2 knows that it's getting replaced or what, but I've had several radio related issues over the past 2-3 days. Loosing network connectivity, slow connectivity, bluetooth skips, etc. Issues I've never expected to have from a Motorola device. Thankfully my backup Motorola phone, the Nexus 6 works fine without these issues. Just need to hold myself over until my Pixel XL shows up.
I have had some weird issues after the update also. I took the update and could not get Wi-Fi calling to work. So Verizon told me to factory reset the phone. Now my Wi-Fi calling is enabled however the call Quality is poor with or without HD voice, and everytime I reboot my phone it boots to the AP fastboot screen. Then I have to press the power button to start and it will Start Up Normally.
Any thoughts on this one.
BTW, they are sending me a replacement device and I'm probably going to be upgrading to the Pixel XL anyways
