Hi,
my phone is quite "slow" because I must have INT2EXT (without +) because of data/data are too big when using INT2EXT+..
Currently I have quite old 2GB SD card and I would like to know if it will be better with Class 10 SD card 16 / 32 GB?
Do you think it will be much better or not as much to pay money for new SD card?
Thanks
I have ADATA Class 10 UHS-1 32GB card with 1GB INT2EXT4 partition and it is fast enough in my opinion. I don't remember but it seems to me that the speed of memory card is similar to the internal memory. Anyway phone runs great when apps uses less than half of second partition. If they needs more phone is getting a bit slower. I'm using CM 10.1

ok,
so i bought an 8gb kingston micro sd card, tested it with hw id and got 8mb/s write speed,
partitioned the card using gparted (allign to mib) with a 1gb ext and the remainder as fat32,
used sd card tester on my desire and it says write speed is 3mb/s or under,
so i tried sd speed increase set to 2048kb, atill 3mb/s or less write speed,
any ideas?
He,
I got also a Kingston 8GB Class 10 in my Desire (1GB Ext4 & Rest Fat32).
My speeds just for your ref.: 6.2MB/s writing, 16.4 MB/s reading with 2048kb.
I tried nearly every setting in SD speed increase but could not get over 6.x MB/s
---edit
just saw that we are running the same ROM (same kernel). maybe its ROM related as I also not have full 10MB/s? or its the SD card?
well i reflashed the rom without repartitioning the card and now im getting 6mb/s write speed,
better but still not as good as when i test the cards speed on my pc,
im not that worried about improving read speeds, i was just hoping that the faster write speed would solve some of the video recording lag i am getting,
maybe the cards you guys bought is not genuine but a chineese replica. you know how many fakes ciculate in market.
I have class 4 Sandisk 16gb card and I get 5mb writing speed. 12mb reading...
if a class 10 card has 6mb then I would doubt either the Testing software or the genuineness of the card

but when i do a speedtest from my pc via a card reader i get 8mb/s when i test the same cards speed in my phone i get 6mb/s, where does the 2mb/s go?
Try formating the cards on a pc. Full format/ factory condition. Then insert them on a stock rom phone to test the speeds. It's the only way to check them and be 100% sure.

SD speed reports my pny 8gb class 10 as writing at 8mb/s and reading 28 MB/s.
I have a 1gb ext4 partition after a 6.5 gb odd fat32 partition. Currently running leedroid latest R5 HD Rom.
Got it from play.com

Did you try this tutorial?
What the title says basically. I'm looking to replace the 4gb class 2 sdhc card that came with the phone and get a bigger and faster one.
Depending on what the maximum size for an EXT partition is (I've read 1gb, other places said 2gb) I will chose between an 8gb and a 16gb one.
Coupled with that I have another question. I read that DATA2SD ROMs are generally slower that A2SD+ ones. If you were to compare an A2SD+ ROM using a class 2 sdhc card to a DATA2SD ROM using a class 6 card, which would you say is the fatest, most responsive?
Cheers.

Usually, size should be 2gb at max, 1gb is the general.
2GB is the limit for any rom before it starts to get a little unstable. 1GB is what everyone mainly uses but I have seen people with 1.5GB
IIRC by the guide I followed when I partitioned my card a long ago, it was recommended to have an ext of up to 1,4Gb.
1GB is ideal for the SD EXT
I have used 1gb also. (EXT4 partition)
My question is what app can i use to expand my Htc Wldfire S internal from 150mb to lets say 600mb. I have "m1ndh4x8r GB2.3.5|OCKernel|Stable|Apps2SD|DATA2SD|Premium Features[1/25/2012]" rom installed and tried data2sd but it lagged way too much. I had it 2.8gb Fat 32, 847mb Ext4 and 70.6mb linux swap.(could i adjust this to increase performance). I used a class 4 PNY 4gb card.
Any other apps that can do this that doesnt lag???
Thanks in advance
I don't think there's a way to expand the internal memory. Just use a microSD card with Link2SD and put all your apps into the microSD card. I'm also using a class 4 card and I feel that it works well enough. Think there was a fellow who was purchasing a class 10. That's crazy haha. I think the speed difference felt stops after a while.

Yes you can.Using data2sd i increased my internal memory to 687mb i think from 150mb. However it lagged the system so bad.
try sd-booster https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mehrmann.sdbooster and see it make some difference. I am using a class 4 16gb sd card without any lag.
Hey guys, I'm currently using a class 2 sd card with data2sd. My phone lags like hell because all the apps are stored in the sd card partition. I was planing to buy a class 6 card. Would that stop the lagging that is happening now? or should I go and get a even higher class?
Class 2 is way too slow for data2sd. Actually its even slow for link2sd.
Data2sd requires minimum class 6 card for average performance.
There isn't much price gap between a class 6 and a class 10 card.
If I was you, I'd go for a class 10 card even if it costs a little more. That'd be worth it.
Planning on getting either a 32gb or 64gb depending on the price.I planned on using app2sd mod to use the micro sd as my main storage instead of the 16gb internal storage. And the micro sd card has to be in FAT32 or EXTFAT format.
1.What the real big difference between class 4 and 10? Beside the price? Is class 10 speed much noticeable or just a minor improvement from class 4?
2.Since i plan on using this as my main storage. Will opening app/games, playing music, viewing video/picture and saving picture on a class 10 be a lot faster than class 4? Also how about coping the files from pc to sd card? Any difference?
3.What brand would you recommend? Is there a difference between a sandisk class 10 and lexar class 10 beside the price?
4.What format do micro sd card come in? If it not FAT32 or EXTFAT, can i change it to FAT32 or EXTFAT?
1. Speed. Class 10 has much faster r/w speeds.
2. Not sure how big a difference itll be. Read speeds should be good enough on either for apps. Its hd video and such that will require higher write speeds though.
3. Dont much care for sandisk oersonally. But I think theyre the only ones offering 64gb. Never tried lexar but Samsung memory has always been the best for me. Jus make sure you trust the seller.
4. FAT32, for most. ExFAT for 64gb. Yes you can reformat.
