Hi,
After a quick search on Google, the first results page points to www.unlockunit.com, while on the second page I've also found www.safeunlockcode.com. I couldn't find the prices for the latter, but the first company seems to have some pretty accessible fees.

Unlock Unit could not help me and had to refund my payment. They required me to upload a video of proof that the code they provided didn't work. It seems the phone can only be unlocked with the Unlock app that comes pre-installed, at least for now. T-Mobile hasn't even been able to help me unlock it yet.
you do know that T-Mobile offers you x amount of days to unlock you phone right? (Device unlock) you should have an icon for it.
Rep told me today that they are only allowing unlock for business customers and long standing regular customers. (2+ year active account) If you don't qualify for this, she said the earliest people will be able to submit for an unlock is 20 days - after the buyers remorse period. Still doesn't make sense to me as that only locks me to the device and not the service.

I see what you are saying. I have been with them for 10 years so I see where I wouldn't have that issue. Making you wait the 20 days does not make sense seeing that you are tied to the phone anyways or maybe because people may try to flip the it for $? I am sure they have their reasons. I would wait if you are not in a big rush.
Seems like those of us who got the phone to immediately use on AT&T are at a painful time. I haven't been able to use my edge as my primary device because of the unlock struggle. Now I can open a business line with tmobile no problem and tmobile has wideband in my area, it's just that for the same $55 I'd pay them for unlimited everything, I get better coverage with cricket and get 20GB (which I'm grandfathered) which feels like unlimited because I use 10GB under super heavy usage.

Maybe its only matter of time that the people of xdadevelopers came up with an unlock option by software.
Hope it doesn' t take long.

Just unlock my tmob s6 edge with theunlockpros.com just take like 15 minutes, cost like 25 dollars you have to download a software then a guy connects to your computer and will guide you all the process to unlock your phone, it helps if you already rooted with pingpong.

I ordered mines 9 days ago and it does not work! sent me another code! and still does not work, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!... I asked for a refund after made all the video and all THE TIDIOUS PROCESS for refund. tHEY SUCK... MADE ME WASTE 9 DAYS OF WAITING WHEN THE TURN AROUND TIME IS 1-2DAYS AS their website list. do not use CELLUNLOCKER.NET
Just use a local service usually 20-30 dollars.. i got mines unlocked for a TELCEL and it works. I really dont suggest using any online sites since they send you a non-working code and since the phone is recnet model, then they dont have the options to unlock it. Dont make the same mistake i made.

Did you buy your phone online? Do you know the original owner? I ran it to the issue where the sell of my phone was the original owner and still had the cell phone under is name with ATT but not activate. The seller has to contact ATT and let them know that they sold the device and then once it is release the unlock code works.

I just unlocked my Note 4 and my wife's Note Edge in the last couple weeks and I used imei-unlocker.com. It was $29.90 something and worked flawlessly. We had the codes back and phones unlocked within a few hours of placing an order.
Just a quick tip for anyone else needing to unlock, try going though ATT first.
I bought my phone used and submitted the info and while it said 2 business days I had my code within minutes - for free.

To unlock from att directly like others have suggested it looks like you need a valid account and phone number with them. I am wondering if there is any way around this or if you can just call them and explain you bought a refurbed unit off ebay and simply want to unlock it.

This thread is a bounty to get a proper port of the H850 framework. This will allow us to enjoy all the feature of the H850 on our H830. Personally I am hoping this will make unlocking my G5 easier because we should be able to obtain our unlock codes (I already have mine) and do it the standard way. But understand when pledging that is only a theory and no guarantees.
If you pledge please pay up once it has been achieved.
As always this port must be something the average user can flash. Once it has been achieved we will discuss with the dev(s) on how/if they want to receive their donations.
So far the devs I know of are @autoprime and @Miustone
Pledges:
jkhan49 - $25
liushangrong - $50
Total: $75
Decided to sell my phone so I removed my pledge but I'll keep updating it for you. I got impatient after a month an a half.

If you had your TMobile LG G5 for a month and half, wouldn't TMobile unlock it for you? What happened?
I'm keeping my G5 for 40days and then trying to unlock it, so I was just wondering what your results were.

The same thing happened to me and a lot of other people. My IMEI wasn't showing in their system so they said they couldn't unlock it. Don't listen to them. Lodge a complaint with the FCC saying they REFUSE to unlock your phone then contact Jennifer (information is below). I found it in another XDA thread. I got a call back in a few days (you have to be patient) from a Dianne who said they would escalate the issue and OVERRIDE it in the system to unlock it. Later I got a call back saying to retry the unlock app and it worked. You have to be past the 40 days of service though. I'm not sure why it didn't work for the other guy but you have to be persistent and don't take no for an answer. Be polite but persistent. By law they have to unlock it.

I used LGUP to reflash the stock ROM temporarily until it was unlocked because rooting it after the unlock does not remove the unlock SIM unlocks are permanent no matter what you flash to the device since the unlock is stored on a separate chip than the system. It shouldn't matter if your rooted but I would reflash stock to be sure. Also, I SIM unlocked to get AT&T but AT&T really sucked on it, I never got a single drop of LTE and I even went to the AT&T store and called their customer service many times and the phone was definitely set up right (APN, preferred tech, ect.). It may just be my area though. I'm back with T-Mobile now because it's much better than any other carrier in my area. I spoke with Diana at T-Mobile for the unlock.
Hello
What if You change the IMEI number of your LG G5 H830 TMOBILE phone to a "good' IMEI - that has been allready Unlocked with TMOBILE , and than run "DEVICE UNLOCK" app on your phone ?

Hello nkhater
Thanks for the tip .
It will not work because it will fail/blocked in TMOBILE SERVICE ?
I pictured the whole process like :
1) The "DEVICE UNLOCK" app , send the IMEI # (faked one) to the TMO server
2) The Server will check to see if the IMEI number is not blacklisted / etc
3) Since the number is Eligible to unlock (it has been unlocked before) - the server will send GOOD respond to the phone
4) The phone will be unlocked (for good)
5) then - I'll retrieve the original IMEI to the phone.
In what stage do you think - the process will fail ?
I tried permanent unlocking but it says it is not eligible, however i got it temporarily unlocked till august. so is there any way that i can make it permanent or any hacks that lets the temporary unlock stay forever.
Any hopes?

I was thinking about the same. Wonder what is it that relocks it after the 30 days. is it the t mobile app?
Was thinking what if you get a temp unlock then flash the Unlock stock firmware on top that removes all of t mobile bloat including that Unlock app. Will the phone remain unlocked and have no way of re locking back because the unlock app would be missing?

If the device is on an account that has a service contract term, then at least 18 consecutive monthly payments must have been made or the account was migrated to a no contract rate plan.

What company
Hi everyone,
I've got smashed Galaxy Note 10+ from eBay, fixed it and found out that it has a kind of carrier change temporary lock. IMEI is clean, not blacklisted or anything. Technically the phone is unlocked and it fully works with my non-US carrier SIM card for around 5 min or so. But after that a ridiculous nonsense message about carrier change pops up and the phone becomes blocked. It looks like the phone is connecting by itself with Verizon servers, they detect other carrier SIM card and block GSM functionality. I flashed international U1 firmware already but it didn't help. Verizon tells some 60 day activation cap - the phone will be unlocked automatically after 60 days since Verizon account activation. Is there any way to fix it / block the phone from communicating with Verizon? I have no idea how long should I wait since the phone was wiped before sale.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the seller might have received an insurance replacement due to the damage. Maybe the phone is blocked by Verizon because it should have been disposed of and/or should no longer be used in their network. Just a guess.

That's just the way the network lock works.....you'll need to wait the 60 days...(probably closer to 30 now...but no way to know)
If you can't wait there are paid solutions that you can use... cell unlocking services.
No amount of firmware changing etc will have an effect on the network lock.....sorry.
Also i disagree with the other poster....sounds like you confirmed its not blacklisted....what you're experiencing is the typical network lock behavior.....pay or wait it out.
Btw any before and after pics?
What did you pay for smashed device? How much spent repairing?

I paid US$230 for smashed device, $320 for screen assembly with housing, $15 for back glass cover (haven't receive it yet), $40 for S-pen. Screen assembly is original despite being bought from AliExpress. It looks like brand new now. Just waiting for back cover and unlock.
Yikes! That thing got brutalized

This is why I like and dislike Samsung Galaxy flagships. Screen is always damn expensive but the possibility to fix completely smashed device is very high. Actually I repaired few Galaxies in much worse condition than that. At the same time, recently I had an iPhone XS Max with relatively light screen damage and was unable to repair it due to face ID failure (logic board fault). Cheers!

Did you call Verizon? Give them IMEI and they should be able to tell you what's up

I live 13000km away from USA so the call to Verizon could be not cheap. I had an online chat with them via Messenger and they asked me my Verizon account details to answer my question. Obviously I don't have them. From now I'm looking for not crazy expensive unlock service.

Just had one more conversation with Verizon. It seems that they're bloody dickheads! They claim the Verizon does not lock phones which is pure lie. And their temporary carrier lock system is a bloody mess. They're unable to manage it at all!!! Just look at my conversation history with Verizon support:
"We greatly appreciate this (IMEI) information, Victor. After further review, we do show that this IMEI is not currently showing a carrier lock to our network....
I know this is confusing and that you just want to get full use out of that phone. While we don't lock any locks on the phone, it is true that takes 60 days from sale of the phone for a phone to be unlocked. We would suggest that you get in contact with the seller of this phone and instruct them to get in contact with Verizon or alternately, reach out to the selling platform you used and your local carrier. Keep in mind also that Verizon sold phones are not guaranteed to work with other carriers. We would not be able to provide any further support beyond this. I hope this helps clarify and if you have any additional concerns, we are happy to help out. "

No, it's just a standard SM-N975U, not a Verizon branded one. Actually I was able to easily flash it into unlocked N975U1 version. But still that damn Carrier change message pops up and blocks GSM capability.

As I sad earlier, I had a chat with Verizon twice regarding this phone. They checked it by IMEI and told me that it is NOT SIM locked. This is the only useful piece of info I've got from them. Despite of that, they were unable to help me with that Carrier Change issue sending me to original owner / Verizon account holder of this phone. So it's not a carrier variant and not sim locked.

i think ur confused lol... if it was originally sold by verizon then it is a Verizon Variant..
and clearly you are sim locked as thats the exact message ypu get when its sim locked as well as you dont get service with the other carrier..
based on what u posted whoever you talked to has no idea what theyre talking about especially if theyre telling you they dont lock phones which meansthey also didnt even bother to look up their own policy for it and instead just made stuff up off the top of their head..
but hey, dont take my word for it.. it wont work as u need tho until vzw unlocks it or u pay for a service to unlock it.

Yes, I'm confused indeed. Confused by Verizon which says one thing but does other. They clearly said that "we don't lock our phones" but apparently they do it! Bloody bastards!
Did you manage to unlock the device?

No, I sold it. As I can see there is no unlocking solution right now. No hope that it will be available any time soon.
Hello there. I would love if someone can help me with a problem that i have. I bought a samsung s22 in the US and the phone is locked to use only on T-Mobile. Unfortunately as i don't live in the US i can't unlock the phone using the T mobile procedure. Do you know if there's a way to unlock the by using a different firmware or paid service (reliable).

Yes, an experienced professional 3rd party business can do it. It's extremely expensive though - around $200 US
As of today I'm carrier unlocked just by asking a t force member that I'll be in Europe and her for the next yr or so, I didn't expect her to whitelist so easily especially since I just upgraded to the s22 plus 2 months ago with 3 lines but she gave me no hassle about it I got lucky I guess and I do know how to speak to people and be honest. I went to support and chatted with her that's it 20 mins went by and permanently unlocked T-mobile carrier

I have the same issue on a Samsung s10e and I'm still looking for solutions.
Were you able to find one to unlock your phone?

Assuming that you don't meet T-Mobile's requirements in order for them to unlock it for you, you'll need to get a professional 3rd party company to do it
