I'm living in the middle east right now so my music download options are limited.... I've recently discovered that 7Digital will actually accept my payments, which is great.... But it stores the files deep in my SD card folder system & the HTC music app doesn't pick them up... Any recommendations on how to direct the music app to the MP3s without having to move the files and create new folders every time I download new music...
That is probably your only bet with the stock HTC music app.

Thanks, bit of a sad oversight that they provide one app to purchase music and put it on your phone, and one app to play music off your phone, but the two won't work together...
Try using another music player...?

Hi there,
I'm really new to android so please bear with me...
I have been using the Music app on my new nexus as a general music player for my android. I just noticed an mp3 on there that I didn't want so I held my finger on it and hit delete.
The message that came up said that the only version that would be deleted would be the "side-loaded" version, and the automatic upload to google music would remain.
Now from what I gather google music isn't open to the UK anyway, but I don't wanna use it when it's out, and I certainly don't want an auto upload using up data, but I can't see a setting to turn it off.
Is there one? Or do I need to download winamp or something else to use as my native music player to stop it?
Thanks for any help. It's massively appreciated.
As someone outside of the U.S. I noticed that too however, I connected to Google Music (via tunnel bear) but didn't see any tracks uploaded or listed.

maybe its just a standard warning message in the app for when you delete a track?
You're probably right. I don't think they'd have done a UK only version of music just to adjust that message.
Once google music is open in the UK though (which I assume it will be at some point) all my music is going to start uploading, which is pretty annoying.
I'm in Australia and have been using the music app for a few months now. As far as I know, it does not upload music stored on the phone. There is a program that you can download from the google music website which will allow you to upload your music collection or only specific songs from your computer to the cloud. You can then access the uploaded music files from the app on your phone.

Any one found a way to sync Google Music with the HTC Music Player?
Don't want to install two music players... This should be something HTC needs to think about!
It's not possible. You have to install the Google music app for streaming.

At a guess, google want people to use their app and only their app for a service they are providing for free. I wish it looked better though as it is very basic. If it looked like player pro, that'd be nice

Yes but since HTC makes a phone for "U". This should be in it
beats audio works with everyplayer which is great
If you set some of your music to be available off line then Google Music syncs it to your phone. You can then set the folder it syncs it too to be visible so the music then shows up in all your music apps.
Only problem with this is google sync doesn't embed the album artwork and I also think it renames the files and strips the MP3 tags leaving you with just a bunch of files ....unless this has changed
Si
We can only hope Google will release the music api. Until then there is an unoffical api.

Sense 4.0 music player only adds installed music apps like Google Music or Spotify into the UI
Hi all
First thanks for all you do everydays
I'd like to know if someone knows how to change default music app in HTC Car Home. Indeed, i'd like to use Google Music but I can't change :/
Is there a mod or some change possible ?
Thanks a lot
Nobody's to help me ? Roooh so sad :/
I'm also really interested to see if someone can mod HTC Car in sense 4.0 to allow choice of music app (or just swap sense music app with Google Music). Any clever devs out there I can buy a beer?
Yes, me too. I just got my HTC One X and I only use Google Music and would really want to modify the Music in Car mode (useless in it's current form!)

I've been using winamp on my HTC sensation with no issues at all. I've just upgrade to the one x and suddenly winamp now doesn't file my music alphabetically.
When I'm choosing music I tend to select it by looking through the artist tab, I've noticed that if I add a new album via USB instead of placing it alphabetically in the list it just dumps it at the beginning.
Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a solution to it?
Cheers in advance
Andy

Hi everyone,
Bought HTC One X last week, so I'm pretty new with this device, but it's not my first HTC Android device
When I drag & drop my music to my phone, the HTC Music app doesn't display my songs in the correct order. On iTunes everything is correct and it does display the songs in correct order (I know that iTunes is very sensitive with those ID-tags).
The weird thing is, those songs were displayed correctly on my previous phone (Desire HD with Sense 3.0).
So does someone know how the new HTC Music app orders the music list?
Thanks in advance
