Hello I have a problem with my galaxy nexus. my dad's using it and yesterday while he was browsing the phone shut down e turned on only if plugged in. So today i'm trying to figure out what's the problem.
If unplugged it doesn't turn on in any way, it's like dead. When I plug it in i can only turn it on in fastboot mode but i can't enter recovery or boot the phone, if i try one of those it goes to the google logo and then turns off or return to fastboot and if i unplug the phone while it's in fastboot it turn off immediatly. I also tried to turn it on without battery and sim but nothing.
Oh and there is one thing my dad noticed yesterday. I gave my phone to my dad to subtitute his huawei y530 and copied on my GN photos, music and contacts. Yesterday when the phone turned off he said that for like half second he saw on the screen the huawei logo, and i can't understand why.
I also tried the procedure described there http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/bricked-gnex-brought-to-life-t1760787 but nothing.
hope someone can help me, and sorry if english is not perfect.
It might sound a bit like a battery problem here. Try to take out the battery and plug in the phone the try to start it. If it does not work, via adb try to flash a Google Factory image for GNex. This is all I csn think of right now

I can only access fastboot mode (where you have to select to start the phone normally, in recovery or reboot bootloader) and if i remove the battery the phone shuts down, no matter if it is connected to AC or USB.
If i plug the phone in to my pc usb (with phone turned off) i can hear the sound of the usb connection and after a few seconds it disconnects and keeps doing that over and over.

So I sent a text message, put phone in a my pocket. grabbed it and the screen was compeltely white. Took out battery, sim card, rebooted. The phone vibrates then goes to white screen. Plug it into my PC and the usb makes the connect sound but doesnt show phone as drive and screen stays white.
Tried taking battery out, then holding power and volumes and get into recovery or bootloader, nothing. Phone goes right to white screen.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Take out the battery for 5-10min. If that doesn't help it's likely broken in some way.
Yeah took battery out for about 45 minutes. NOTHING.
If you can't boot into fastboot or connect with ADB, there's nothing else you can do, I fear.
Yup, I agree with Valynor. If you can't get into fastboot or ADB I think you're done. Maybe a USB jig will work???
You're holding volume up and down while holding power???

Tried everything possible. Ended up back at Verizon to exchange for the 3rd time. Couldnt take it anymore, loved the phone, but after having 3 in about 15 days go bad it was time to make a choice, went back to the Rezound.
that's too bad that you had to switch to such a crappy phone, oh well
Hey
My phone stopped working.
A few weeks ago it suddenly didnt turn on anymore
The evening before i put it in charge coz it only had 6% left.
The next morning it didnt do anything
no led light, didnt turn on.
When i try to boot fastboot mode, the light doesnt turn on. when i put it in charger, the light doesnt turn on, my computer doesnt recognize it.
i tought lost case, its dead.
but this morning i tried to turn it on one time, it didnt work. i put it on my desk. i accidently wiped the phone off my desk, it turned on.
It showed Sony Ericsson logo, as im used to, the screen lights up very bright for a second, normaly the key lights and the led should turn on, that didnt happen.
then it went to a black screen, and turned off after a few seconds.
after that it didnt turn on anymore
Maybe the worst part: coz my father is going to buy an iPhone 5, he wants to give me his 4
is there anything i can do? I no longer have warranty.
Have you tried removing the battery, pressing power, then letting it charge for a couple of minutes, and then try to turn it on? Maybe it's really completely empty.
You had anything custom in there?
Did you use the original charger?
As I can understand, phone does not go into flashmode (while turned off, back button and connect USB cable) or fastboot mode (same thing but menu button)?

Repair the firmware with PC Companion, or if you wish to take the advanced way - Flashtool.
Hello everyone, I have a htc one x (plus) with an odd issue ive never seen before.
the phone turns on for about a second, then turns off. If i connect it to power and not touch anything, itll turn itself on and try to boot, only to turn off a second in and repeat.
if i try to enter the bootloader it will come up, switch to hboot automatically and try to load ph__img file. If i try with the cable in it gives the typical usb error.
it reads battery low but ive left it doing its cycle and managed to unplug and watch it cycle for a good 5 minutes off the charger too.
phone is unlocked and was working fine for a few months with nothing done to it. The phone was dropped off the table once but worked afterwards for a few days till this started happening.
Any help would be great. i try to hit shut down from the bootloader but cant get to it. it picks up something via usb port but not fastboot and not adb.
any help would be great.
Thanks for your time.
Recently, I've been in the process of rooting my Galaxy with wugs toolkit. When I got to the point of bootloader, I disconnected the USB by accident but it kept loading so I payed no mind. At first, the home screen loaded but when the screen went blank, it stayed blank (dark).
I took out the battery and placed it back in, it will not turn on at all. No bootloader, no google screen. My guess is that it's hard bricked or so.
Also, I tried to reconnect it to my computer and nothing, absolutley no notification, no beep. It dosen't even charge.
I seriously hope there can be some sort of way it can be to at least find a way to connect the Nexus to my PC.
How much charge was on the battery when all of this happened?

Around 90%
I think I may be in the same boat. Galaxy Nexus will no turn on, will not enter into fastboot/downloading mode.
I Don't even know if it's charging! I have like 15 tabs opened because I'm trying to find a way to unbrick it. Some say that this is what a hard-brick is.
A device with a softbrick can be fixed using wug's toolkit i believe.
A softbrick is one where the screen shows a yellow triangle with an android bot and a computer on either side.
A hard brick is one where the phone does not light up, no matter what.
Am I correct so far?
It sounds bricked but its weird that it happened when you were un locking your boot loader. When you hold down the volume up down keys and the power button at the same does anything happen? Hold them all down for PPP like 15 sec.

take out your battery and then connect to pc via usb. See if you get any notification for a device then

Well this is my situation:
I bought a broken screen and broken digitalizer HTC Desire EYE with AT&T stock rom 4.4.4 lolipop
While waiting for the screen + digitalizer replacement, i decided to try ADB commands to remotelly access the cell from the PC.
When first time i turned ON the cell, it worked ok, all sounds of android OS could be heard and worked ok, and even HTC Sync showd up and i could even access the internal and external memory of the phone.
Then i tried to boot into fastboot with low battery levels, i rebooted in fastboot and my PC detected the drivers for such...
then since i was on blind cause the screen was broken, i clicked on I was supposing was recover (i needed to enter on recovery so i could run an ADB commands to activate USB debugging from recovery, so i also later have access to remote screen of the phone from the PC)
So, i clicked on blind thinking i was on recovery and after that the phone didnt charge any longer the battery or turned ON.... i connected the phone to the wall charger and not even the RED LED light of the battery turns ON anymore.
I tried all the options: 1) volume +, power
2) volume +, volume -, power
3) volume -, power (for over 20 secs) and nothing, im like lost here?
I also tried plugging the USB to the PC and that doesnt even work, nor the PC do any sound when a new device is connected, so its like the phone is completely dead.... any help is more than welcome
come on, no one? damn, im blind while waiting for the freaking chinnese screen replacemente... since i cant do crap... i started a wall charger for 4 days, lets see if this turns on at least the red light, which by the moment it doesnt... will keep updating this thread regarding the status and situation in the couple of days.
i'm having the same problem right now with my HTC desire and i just bought it in July brand new from AT&T. I was wondering if it ever turned back on for you?

Check for dust or other dirt in your charging port, then use a toothpick to get it out, this fixed it for me.
Bumping because I have a similar issue and don't want to make a new thread.
My screen is fine, but the LED is off, plugging it in does nothing, and it wont turn on. Worked fine last night, it was in low power mode (on CM 14), I shut it off and plugged it in. Now, the next day, it's dead.
