Really Shocking Because Xperia Z or ZL are using Same internal Camera but are Way too Different Result of Camera
from Each other I'm not talking about Design,I'm talking about Hardware. That's the Main Reason to Begin A Separate Thread for Xperia ZL vs Galaxy S4.

Here we Compare about Xperia ZL and Galaxy S4 Camera.
The Bigger the Mega Pixels does not mean the Better Image, So we see Galaxy S4 & Xperia ZL Both are Having 13MP Rear Camera But Sensor Size Have Huge impact on Picture Quality.
So larger sensors can help you capture better quality images, but they bring with them a number of other characteristics, some good and some bad. The first, and most obvious impact of a bigger camera sensor is that of size; not only will the sensor take up more room in your device, but it
will also need a bigger lens to cast an image over it.
As sensor technology improves, we're seeing much better performance out of smaller sensors, but bigger will always be better.
So How Xperia Zl and Galaxy S4 Stand out for their Camera's Sensors and Video Quality.
Sony Xperia ZL Camera Sensor Size
Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Sensor Size
Sony Xperia Z Camera Sensor Size
Xperia ZL vs Galaxy S4 Full HD Camera video Test
Samsung Galaxy S4 , HTC One & Sony Xperia Z Full HD in low light Test
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Galaxy S4 HD Camera Test
As in above Xperia Z Camcoder Quality is looking Good as Compare to Xperia ZL and Galaxy S4 & the sensor on Xperia Z is looking Small To Compare with Galaxy S4 and Xperia Zl But in Result Xperia Z Beats both of them and Htc one too.But Samsung Galaxy S4 Beats the Xperia Zl Camcoder.Samsung Galaxy S4 video Quality is Not Good than Galaxy S3 according to Gsmarena and in above Video Comparison.
Guys what do you think,Why is this Difference happens in Z/Zl Camera, Some sort of Software Fault, Image Stabilization on ZL Not working properly OR ZL Camera Really Suck???
Note : I add some more but later............
i think this is software for camera, super auto of stock is not good, you must setting manual , if you want to capture a good picture
the sensors on all the z phones/tablets are exactly the same size, aperture, etc....
the differences you are seeing are probably coming from the smart auto, and or your own personal preferences
you want to take a good photo? use normal mode and pick the correct settings for the shot, like you would with a real camera
It seems like all the comparisons are based on using the standard stock roms and camera apps.
What would happen if I use an alternative camera app, such as Camera Zoom fx, within the stock rom, or installed a CM based rom and used the standard CM/Google camera app - would that then even the playing field between the phones in terms of OEM software and processing being bypassed and then it would just be up to the hardware differences between the phones?

hmmmmmmmm,
did you post your cam result????
lol really the camera of xperia ZL sucks, the camera of xperia ion is better than s4, zl, so far
I feel that the hardware is not to be blamed here...
The software here is at fault..
The superior auto mode is not so superior in its job(it's ok if you want to capture something real-quick)... But if you want the best from the hardware you'll have to turn to manual controls...(Camera FV-5 is the best app I know for that)
Jpeg compression is just too much here...thus we can see the lack of detail in some photos(macro)
To get the best of the camera,My suggestions are as follows :-
If you like the stock camera app... 1)Turn off superior auto mode... Switch to manual mode
2) set the ISO at 200 (max) for daylight photography,,,,400 for twilight
3) HDR off
4) metering mode set to average
And if you still want better results:
1) install Camera FV-5 (full version support developer )
2) go to settings -> photo encoding settings -> file format -> set it to PNG ( it takes some seriously huge pics (15 mb..) )
3) now apply all the manual controls mentioned above
If you think what difference does the above methods do to the quality of the photos... Take a photo with normal method (superior auto) and then manual method... And then compare..
If you feel that I've helped you in anyway, please hit the thank button

Oh wow, I just did that and holy crap does that app make great pics with those settings! I still love the ZL's stock camera, but damn.
I wish the stock app would allow us to take png pics.
Hmm thanks for this, the results are interesting... The lumia 920 is the best in the first shot, then its mixed thereafter. The Xperia ZL seems to be better on the low light with flash option, that one is actually a really good quality photo with no dodgey colours, the flash is hardly noticeable. However for some of the others taken with the XL it looks like it has problems with contrast and exposure. Though on the last image, though dark, is almost more accurate to what the scene was actually like, slightly under exposed perhaps, where as most of the others look over exposed, a bit or a lot.

Just got myself an Xperia T2 ultra lte single sim. Noticed that upon switching the front camera, it's very grainy. Updated to kitkat4.4.2 and it's till the same. Read some comments is GSMarena that mentions the same. Anyone has the same issue?

Same bro all of T2 Ultra user also got the same problem and yet sony staff says that theirs fine
Better head to sony support forum and post about it to..
So they'll hurry the update
Also the battery life is descreasing a bit and the rear camera also becomes grainy after 4.4.2 too
Pretty dissapointing

I think the problem is that sony camera app uses always a too high ISO value.
Higher ISO means less shooting time (good in darkness or with fast objects) but significantly increase the noise.
There are a few camera apps good to fix that with manual iso settings.
Also you may set jpeg quality to 100%. Some camera apps also allow that setting.

yup man
same with me
4.4.3 improved a bit but not big difference so better post that one at sony forum to so they'll fix it at 4.4.4 maybe or additional update
So it is a software problem or the quality of the camera itself?
Anyway, both 13MP rear camera and 1.1MP front facing camera result using camera or camera360 apps is bad and very difficult to create the good one, especially in the low light situation. Anyone can give any suggestion how to make it at least better?
Thx
Hi peeps,
I am not sure about you guys, but I am very happy abt Z3 camera and its features, I came from Z1 and the camera is good too!
I notice some did mention or some of my friends saying Sony camera suck and that the Z3 camera is not as good as samsung s3 or other brands bah bah bah....
But I asked, what Sony phones are you conparing with and what are the camera or display settings of the Z3 phones. Then I reliased the following issues
1) Some are using Xperia Z ultra to compare with Samsung S3. Z ultra only have 8 MP and no ISO settings so if u want to use a mid range camera to fight with a higher range phone who will lose out? Just like I used a 20MP Z3 with the same setting I will surely win...
He also mention the Z ultra camera pic cannot tell the color difference between white and yellowish white but when I took the same pic, with my Z3, he was shocked....
2) Z3 camera by default has set to 8/15 MP for 16:9. So the pic is not the best yet. You need to change the settings....
3) Off the HDR & Display Enhencment settings, u will see a better quality photo on screen and on PC...
4) If you are using matt, anti finger print or privacy screen protectors, please dont even bother to complain abt the screen quality.... You are using a few dollar to cover up 100 dollar stuff...
5) Only a few case is factory defects which need u to send out for repairs... Nothing is perfect just that u are the few unlucky ones to get a defected product...
Oh man, please check where are posting, this forum about Sony smartWATCH 3, not about xperia z3.
and as a z3 owner (and z ultra by chance) I dont even know where to start with the actual content..

You are off topic here, should move to z3 board. This is a general problem we've heard many times on net. From my personal experiences, the answer is mixed. Overall, I would say Sony camera sometimes can be very good but in some situation it can be very bad. On the other hand, Samsung, HTC the camera performance is more consistent and most people prefer a stable camera(so most guys said iphone camera the best).
Sony camera generally poor on focus in my degrees of view while the quality can be very good when it can manage to get the focus right which is very annoy for most guys. Plus the Sony camera always compressed the image too much, in some photo when the object/environment is hard to compress, it will just lost the fight for Samsung which is a very clear answer.
water proof and glass both the side is the only thing lacking in T2 ultra
now i dont find it necessary where i leave
coz its not a rainy day every day also not using phone in bath or any where...
why i choose t2 ultra instead
let me tell you why i dont like Xperia Z first
too horrible battery life cant even pass day
getting over heat
too many mods and roms but CM 11 is the only fit best for me(used custom stock miui pac and many more)
android 5.0 is ported but there is no way to find flash content working in browser
+ u can do nothing as its got just root no more app support
for a few days i enjoyed animations and now i am fad up
2GB ram but found good integration in CM 11 only rest in 5.0 its great but there are no apps or anything els
now why T2 Ultra
big and best screen
greatest battery life
batter ram management even though got 918 mb ram
and the most important never getting heat
best for multiple small apps
over all you find it perfect experience
I am glad I own T2UD
I have a question,
Is it safe? If we watch movies while keeping handset on charging??
I mean movies back to back... with or without head phones...
Well consuming media on this device is really great... especially due to that 6" screen, and yes its fine operating your device (watching movies, playing games, etc.) while charging. but it damages your battery in the long run... you are good for an year or two either way
What about camera...?
This.will shorten battery life
Hi guys,
I'd like to buy new phone and I'm choosing between T2 Ultra and Xperia Z. I'd like to ask you Q if T2 Ultra has good screen resolution because resolution on 6-inch display is only 1280x720 , 245ppi. I know that SONY applied Triluminos & Bravia Engine 2, but - can you see pixels when you are looking from small distance? I cannot physically see this phone, that's why I'm asking...

Camera...?
Compare with other 13 mp camera then u know..
So, my question are basicly
Looking at the camera shutter and focus speed, like in G2 ,,Sport Mode'' is way darker, because the shutter and focus speed is way faster then normal mode.
Does it means, that in low light situation the Z5 Premium will be also dark and the only think to make clear and crispy night photos is to focus like 2-3 seconds to do a decent shot?
Manual settings
Looking at LG G4 the photos with manual focus are incredible, looking at todays technologies. So what about Z5 ? Will they support Camera2 Api? Will it be with manual mode to? Or just modes that Z5 will give it to us?
What you guys opinion about this phone? After Christmas I will look at new one, and this beast is in my eyes not as Number 1 .

Pre-note:
i dont own a Xperia Z5 Premium but i plan on getting my self one and till then ill be keeping my eye out on it for info
1. Sport mode will try to reduce ISO while keeping shutter speed fast but also slow enough to capture pictures, it may take a couple attempts to get a decent pic but be sure to take plenty in which case
(usualy in any phones case aka manual is good here)
1.2 not sure about focus time in low light, if the phone can see the target well enough then focusing should be as fast as day but if the target is hard to see it may take some time or even multiple tries
2. im not too sure but it does have most of the camera2 api which is only lacking raw support but this isnt too bad as an app like manual camera or open camera can take full control of the camera allowing the user to create somewhat DSLR like photos
- if that doesnt work out you can use some of the xda mods or cameras.
in my opinion after seeing what it has to offer its a extremly worth it device, its been noted to have one of the best phone cameras of 2015 and it also is way faster than any other xperia EVER which is showing a Nexus Esk experience in performance and it has a Snapdragon 810 without heating issues so its actually a extremely well worth device in my opinion
(excuse my poor grammar)
