Hi, my device after a soft reset, reboots to the teamwin blue screen flashes black and then again to the teamwin screen. I cant get to recovery mode to restore rom. Any help would be appreciated.

Hold power+home+volume up and down buttons all at the same time until it's fully shutoff. Then quickly press the download mode button combo and reflash twrp

Thanks for the answer but i can't get the device to enter download mode. When i reboot the device (with any combination of keys) it says on top left corner of the screen "Recovery Booting..." and then it enters to teamwin screen loop, no matter what i press.

Thanks for your answer but the same think happens.
Same appened here. After a factory reset its stucked on teamview boot loop.
Anyone got a solution??
Solved by flashing cf-auto-root with odin on download mode.
Just ran into this myself haha. The device is just soft-bricked and I managed to get it into Odin mode (Download). Will let it charge for a bit then either flash stock firmware with Odin or try flashing TWRP again to see if that fixes it
Edit: flashing the latest TWRP worked
Same thing is happening to me. I get stuck in the teamwin boot loop and cannot get into the download mode to fix with Odin.
This all came about after trying to factory wipe the device due to Google Play not working correctly. I'll repost if I have success...
Just recovered my tablet from the same issue. In order to get into download mode, I had to let the battery fully drain. Then, holding the home and vol down keys, I plugged it into the charger. Plugging the charger in while the battery was drained automatically powered it up. After I saw the download warning, I released the buttons and entered download mode as usual. Then I flashed the latest TWRP with Odin.
No other combination of booting or button pressing worked. Trying to enter download with home+vol down and pressing power did not work for me either.
Good luck and PM me if you have any questions about this. I hope I explained it correctly.

So, after trying out a few firmwares (JM2, JG8, JM5) and kernels (Samset&OC) I can't no longer boot to recovery with Vol UP + Home + power. I can't really say when this problem first occurred, but maybe with JG8 flash. The strange thing is that I can get to recovery with adb reboot recovery and through android console with reboot recovery (when rooted ofc). Also download mode works great.
Things I have tried:
-flash again to JM2 and JM5 with re-partition checked (512 PIT)
-cleared cache+data through recovery
-factory reset through phone code (this also cleared the internal SD)
-took out the battery multiple times
-booted phone without sim
-flashed phone without sim
-changed CSC with phone code
-restore a nandroid backup of JM2. Recovery worked with this one when I took the backup
-there's no external flash card inserted
Soooo..does anyone have any idea about this kind of problem?
i had a similar problem after trying few ROMs. In my case, when i pres the key combi i get the boot logo and then few seconds later the screen goes black and then i see the boot logo again, and this goes forever. and then i tried pressing the same key combination simultaneously and once i see the boot logo i let go the power button and keep the vol up and home pressed, and then only it went into the recovery mode.
hope it works the same for you
Cheers
Agreed, 99.9% chance you are doing it wrong.

mmthabet: I had the exact same experience. Letting go of the power button when the logo appears lets me enter recovery.
or you may need to take out the battery first for a few seconds... after that, you can reinsert it back and try recovery mode...
at least this work for me...
Thanks for replies but none of the solutions work. The recovery mode button combination DID work for a few weeks, but then just stopped working.
I know that I'm doing it right. I have always pressed vol up and home down until the phone loaded recovery and only briefly pressed power button just at the start. I have also tried to remove battery multiple times and once waited 30 mins before re-inserting it.
Trust me, I'm not doing it wrong :s And recovery is working great through adb reboot recovery and shell.

More so a timing issue. Buttons not pressed at the same time.
I get it all the time for all combo's.
Just keep trying.
You might already have this however just in case you dont, check out Quick Boot.

this wont work, if you bricked the phone in a bad flash situation.
in times when this app works, you can easily do adb reboot recover
so this app still doesn't address the real issue of how to get the 3 buttons press hardware recovery mode

I release the buttons right when the first Samsung texts comes on the screen. It will take it to Recovery mode. I also had a "boot loop" few times, if I keep pressing the buttons all the time.
Have you tried release your fingers right in the first texts? I really don`t know what is exactly the right way to press the buttons, but this always have took it to Recovery.
Looks like my latest full wipe with *2767*3855# cured it. Flashed JM5-->full wipe-->samset1.9b-->samset kernel and now it works. It must've got stuck somehow in my previous JM5 installation.

yes
adb reboot download
but it is dangerous, as you can not recover from a bricked state, if your flash is not compatible or if something went wrong with odin, etc.
I you're bricked and can't get into Download or recovery mode, leave the device to boot, it will just show a black screen for a while then will turn its self off, once this happens you should be able to use the key combo.

Any idea how long you waited? Been waiting 5 minutes, hasn't shut off. Mine's a Bell though so I'm guessing I won't have any luck.
The way i do it (no chance of doing it wrong and timing):
hold down+home and then also press the power button for a little more then 10 seconds (so all 3 buttons for 10 seconds). The phone will reset into download mode, never fails in whatever mode the phone originaly was..
When I try to start my phone in recovery mode it stalls with the screen and samsung galaxy s on the screen.
Download mode works fine, but it hasn't stalled on recovery screen before. I have rooted the device, do I need to install anything additional?
What is the solution? to factory reset the device? reflash?
to enter recovery mode

you have to briefly let go of the power button and immediately hold back the power button
when you are doing the 3 button combo to go into the recovery screen

Oh man. You're not the only one.
This happened to me yesterday. I had to flash back to stock. Now, I am about to root again. Good luck, mate.
This seems to happen with Goo everytime there's a new version of TWRP. I have read that the easiest fix is to flash the TWRP tar file with Odin. Every post I have read, said that everything was fine after that. Sounds like Goo doesn't mess with anything but the recovery in those cases. I used this fix once when I flashed a recovery zip that didn't work.
As of date. It appears Goomanager is the culprit.
I installed openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-hercules.tar using odin since goo obviously doesn't work... but I can't seem to boot past the teamwin screen... any pointers?

GooManager updated me to 2.6.3.0, now when I reboot, I see Samsung splash screen for a few seconds and then a black screen of death, won't boot, won't go into download mode no matter what I do. tried rebooting with both vol keys pressed down, tried holding vol keys down while inserting usb cable, tried rebooting while holding the down volume key, tried rebooting holding vol keys and power then releasing power. Nothing works. If anyone can help me get into downlaod mode, I'd appreciate. From there, I can revert back to 2.6.1.0
if you cannot go to download mode, you need USB Jig, check it here:

Jig not working either
So, as mentioned before, GooManager updated me to TWRP 2.6.3.0, and now I can't boot past samsung splash screen. No method I used would get me to download mode so I took the advice in the thread and bought a USB Jig. Even removing the battery and leaving it out for 2 minutes and then reinserting it, followed by inserting the jig in the charger port and waiting, and nothing happens. Turning the device on with the jig in the port also does nothing but a quick flash of the splash screen logo and then darkness forever. Definitely doesn't bring up download mode or any kind of yellow triangle. Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? You'd think that as long as I can get to the samsung logo screen that there would be some way to recover this device and that I'm no hard bricked. Other people have managed to recover from the GooManger TWRP 2.6.3.0 issue, so why can't I?
shot my USB jig came in today & can't get it into to download mode at all NO

Hey there, so my phone randomly decided to stop working today.
Whenever I put the battery in the phone or plug in the charger, the Samsung screen loads then nothing. This all happens without me pushing the power button btw. Then the power button doesn't work, nor can I access recovery.
Like I mentioned, this all happened very suddenly and unexpectedly. I haven't flashed a rom in awhile so I'm not sure what caused the problem. One tidbit worth mentioning is that my phone would randomly reboot on the rom I've been using, but it wouldn't happen too often.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not exactly sure what I should do in this situation. Thanks for reading.

kinda odd. never had that happen before. ,maybe you could try to reflash the download mode into your phone using this method

Have you done this and then connected the USB to see if ODIN will recognize the phone? it's entirely possible that you are getting into download mode, but just can't see it..
It's certainly worth a try.
Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.
