hello guys, today I got a new HTC Buzz for my sister that I bought from China. The phone was very nice but
when I put the sim card inside, it didn't catch the signal. I have tried different sims and any solution so far.
I was thinking on installing a different stock rom with a different radio maybe this could fix the problem.
Have any of you had this problem? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks

You need to check if the chinese model you bought actually supports the frequencys for the area you intend to use it in. Use gsm arena .com to check your model against tge support frequencys of your carrier.

Hi guys, i have a weird problem that i cannot fix. (i have been searching last 2 weeks, and i've decided to post a new thread.)
I am using new 3vo rom for my dash with T-Mobile service, suddenly my phone stoped making calls, receiving calls, texting and everything related with my service. I thought there could be a problem with antenna, i opened my phone, cleaned the antenna in case of oxidation. Didn't help...
I have 5 bars all the time on the screen. sometimes is disappears. I try to chose network manually. mostly it gives me errors, i cant even see names "t mobile, at&t" etc...
I reinstalled 3vo but didn't help. I installed the original rom from t-mobile's website. it didnt help either. I called t-mobile, they said there is no problem with your number and your IMEI number.
What should i do? Do i have a hardware problem? I have no warranty anymore. Should i buy a new one or take it to tmobile to get it fixed?
Thanks a lot for your help...
Maybe your sim card has gone currorpt, see if t-mobile or even one of your friends sim cards.
Gotta Love GSM.
i tried that too, with 2 different simcards, one was t mobile, the other was at&t... i m losing my hope

sorry didn't understand, it also didn't work with another sim card?
I had the same problem with my dash a couple of days ago. In my case was the antenna because the signal was turning off randomly. I cleaned it, but also noticed there was a weak contact between the antenna and the phone so I bended it a little bit to fix it. Now it's working fine. It will probably sound stupid but have you try it with another battery? (sorry for my bad english)
"I thought there could be a problem with antenna, i opened my phone, cleaned the antenna in case of oxidation. Didn't help..."
I have 2 original batteries, one is brand new... i cannot understand. i started looking a used one on ebay already.
thanks for the answer guys. you are the best.
last update... solution...
ok, , i have found people who had this problem on internet... they couldnt find a solution like antenna cleaning, flashing again and again, apps, unbricking... so the problem was hardware. i changed the board. i got a broken dash on ebay. i replaced the board. voila.
Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to replace the GSM antenna on my wildfire. If yes, does anyone know or has anyone managed to do it? Any help would be appreciated.
Extra info:
This is my first post. I have searched xda-developers for a problem similar to mine but am fairly certain that there is no info on it here.
So here goes, a few months back, I broke my HTC wildfire after which even when I plug in a working sim card, it shows no signal.
When I took it to a repair shop, they said that the antenna is broken n there is nothing else that can be done other than replacing the phone.
However, if I put in a sim card of another carrier, it does recognize it and asks for an unlock code because my phone is locked to a specific carrier.

i dunno pal, i get the feeling that it may be soldered to the board. and tbh your phone if network locked,it would come up saying you need an unlock code for different sims even if it couldnt get a signal, as it is software related.... now if it GETS signal with a sim that is a different story, but i wouldnt hold out much hope for it sorry bud.
Hello guys,
My Desire HD fell today, since that SIM card isn't recognized. I tried to fix the problem, picking up on duct tape and taped around the sim card to get thicker but this isn't a solution. I need help because its the only phone I have.
Many thanks,
Maybe your SIM Card is bricked? :crying:
Do you already tried Reinstalling ?
Maybe its Magic. But I think you have to let it repair by a Profi.
Chris
SIM cards do go bad from time to time. All you might need is a new one. Go to your carrier and replace it, its free.

Hello guys,
I think it's not sim-card problem because I can use it on other phones.
I've done a restore of the phone, but same problem.
I don't know what can I do to fix this problem.
So, I bought a new Samsung Galaxy SIII and I use the same sim-card as before. I really want to fix this problem because I want to give my phone to someone.
Cheers,
:good:
Hello all!
I have a Note 2 who can't detect my sim card, listen to this:
3 months ago I started to get no sim errors, and after trying everything (factory reset etc), I finally decided to buy a new replacement sim tray.
I got it in the mail and replaced it right away. Damn I was looking forward to using my phone again!
Errr.... Still the same no sim error
Mabye I was extremely unlucky and the new one was faulty as well? Hmm.
I ordered a new sim tray, got it today and replaced the old one.
FFS! Still the same god damn no sim error! :silly: I'm going mad over this ****!
So, it seems like I got no choice but to buy a new phone. (The phone doesn't have any warranty.)
My question is: Has anyone experienced anything like this? Do you have any possible solutions?

Did you test with a different sim? Are you on a custom or official firmware?

Yes, tried 2 other sim cards, none of them works.
I just recently changed to Cynagenmod 10 from stock to see if it would make a difference, but still get "no sim" error.
Do you think this is motherboard related?
It's clearly not the sim tray itself that is the issue here

hard to say, but it could be issues with the board. does searching google give you any info? Try gsmhosting for more info.

Check if your IMEI is correct / the same as when you bought the phone. If you see it has changed or its is corrupt then that might be the reason
to recover your IMEI means recovering your EFS
there is a user here and a htread about recovering / restoring EFS by Drkeaton..something like that .. it very useful and might help u and that mans going back to Stock ROM other than that maybe flash some other ROM stock based though if all fail it might be a hardware fault inside some chip in the mother board !!
Hey guys,
I've owned this phone for some weeks already, but since I've had it I'm not able to send any emoji's, I've tried custom roms but still had the same problem, it just goes as a blank.
If any of you could help me out I would really appreciate it, Thanks in advance  :fingers-crossed:

Hey! Are you Vodafone? I am, and the problem ONLY happens with Vodafone SIM Cards. If you try other SIM cards, it will work, for sure.
Have you tested it?
I have also reported this on Google product forums and on Vodafone forum as well...
