[Q] Bad experience with sm-t800 - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Really I have Avery bad experience with samsung's products
I send it before with many bad issues to the-repair center with out any solution from their technic.
I upgrade my device to android 5.0.2 hoping that it may solve some of my issues which samsung's repair center dosen't know how to repair.
I found now tow notes:-
First : that when I connect the cable of charger with my pc, it charge very well.
But when I try to use the wall charger to charge it , the device immediately turn off and give me the black screen with the sign of battery but with out any progress.it's remain on a certain point for example 20% or 25% with out any progress.
Second: if the device shake between my hands or put it on his face, it give me ablack screen with the top toll bar where the clock on the right and I have to put it on it's face again to have the normal screen.
Really I hate that device very much.
Also I want to make sure from you about some informations.
First: if I have the Odin to upgrade my firmware to another country's firmware (without root my device) that not avoid my warranty ???
Waiting your reply

No reply??
72 viewed my case without any reply or advice or help from anyone here!!!!
Really it's very strange from you guys

I would say a few things:
I would do a factory reset on 5.0.2 - not change the firmware to another just yet. Find out if its some leftover data causing some issues or hardware issues.
I would say I have no idea bout this shaking issues - could you video or photo or explain a little more? Might not happen after the factory reset also.
If you could see how it is after a factory reset this will resolve hardware issues.
As for the battery - have you checked with a different wall charger? It must be the wall charger not the device if it can charge on a pc.

I had to change the firmware to another country because the original one it's united Arab amarates, and I had many issues with it.
I tried factory reset and also wipe partition , and iam sitill have the same problems with Shake the screen also with battery
And I allready tried another charger but still have the same problem, turning off the device immediately when I use the wall charger

[q] sending rooted note 2 to service!

Hello everyone,
i was playing real racing 3 on my gn2 and had 10% battery, wanted to charge it and realized it was not charging anymore . turned off, took battery out waited a bit, tried again but no luck. tried with another charger, no luck. tried with usb cable through pc but got again the same result. phone was not recognizing any cable connection and after trying all these i was only 4% on the battery now. found out it was a hardware problem and googled the net, saw many entries about (not) charging problem and decided to send to service but it was not possible for me to flash any stock firmware since usb connection was not possible. i couldnt do anything else because battery left was only 3% then...
so i had to send it to service as is... and of course they denied repairing it within warranty as they found the custom binary count and asked for 243 euro to repair it
now i will get the phone back, of course un-repaired and i ordered an external battery charger. i will be able to reset the binary count by using triangle away but i cant use any software (odin, kies... ) to install back the official firmware.
now my question is; is there anyway for me to install stock rom on it(maybe mobile odin??) or to send it again to service after resetting the binary count and pray for them not to save my imei number and not check my firmware on the phone but to check only the binary count???
thanks in advance
you could Flash the stock Firmware from Mobile Odin and and user Triangle away .it will show as Official , after that do a Factory reset so it would remove all the Root folders.

I don't believe it is simple charging issue, if so USB port is hardly costing >10$
they gave you estimate 243 euro, simply suggests you needs Mobo replacement.
Anyway try managing foe extra battery and check whether it device boots normally OR do you able to flash anything.

thanks a lot for the answer, i will first use triangle away, i guess it requires root so after flashing official firmware it wouldnt be possible, then the stock rom via mobile odin.
thanks a lot buddy..

at first,thanks for the answer,
device was working correctly before sending it to service everything was fine apart from usb connection issue. would u suggest me to buy the usb port and replace it by myself if they again dont repair it?
First try getting battery charged, then it will be easy to diagnose whether it is usb issue or something else.

Possibilities are if you replace it yourself locally then you will Void your warranty so better to try all other Possible ways
this may sound a bit stupid but it happened to me once.
i wanna as OP... after completely draining ur batt... u plug it in to charge for how long?
here's what happened to me. forgot to charge my phone overnight... went to work with 40% charge... by 1pm totally drained my battery. i was on field that day with no access to charger and constantly on the go from 1 customer's place to the next... only managed to charge it when i got home at 10pm.
after i plug it in... totally no reaction. as if charger is not functioning. i left it plugged in.. after 5 minutes or so (im not sure how long.. i went for a shower) when i got back to my room i see it charging with the red battery on the screen... after it got to around 30% i switched it on and let it continue to charge overnight.
so y not try plugging it in to charger a bit longer... see if it starts to charge. it worked for me.
for my case, to prevent this from happening again i got myself this
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-H1J9VMAGSTA
but i got mine in white. comes with an extra original battery. so in the event i forgot to charge it overnight i can quickly swap the battery.
give it a try. no harm trying

[Q] Galaxy Grand I9082 China Telecom Gets Super Heated & Draining Battery

Hi, need some technical advise on this issue. Apparently, I have a set of Galaxy Grand from China Unicom. The thing is that it is on stock. I gets heated up super hot whereby I can feel the blistering heat and when plugged in to charger, it just discharges and not charging. The phone is hot with or without charger plugged in. It has never went to water contact before. I am puzzled, I can't flash it to any other firmware as I've read the I9082_CU phones are sort of like firmware locked. The phone will keep on draining battery until it kills itself off. The only way to charge it back is for me to charge the battery with external charger.
If anyone has any insight of this issue, or have a schematic diagram for any jumpers to the mainboard, please share thanks. I suspect something is drawing power or a blown capacitor or resistor that is causing this. Another thing is that whenever I try to activate the wifi and bluetooth , it just says " Turning Wifi On" or "Turning Bluetooth On" it stays for a couple and reverts back to off position. However I noticed even in the off position, the WIFI or Bluetooth icon is dimly lit.
I thank everyone for any insight on this.
Regards
phone is getting slower
am also facing the same problem... & now a days am not able to open the google play store, when i open it, my phone hangs & after some times error message wil popup on my screen like "unfortunately google play store stopped", please help me with a solution for this.....
I never knew Grand has a carrier-locked variant... Given its target market in developing countries, not US.
Your best bet is to complain to your carrier and claim your warranty, because it seems like they have done lousy modifications to the phone...
The thing is these phone was purchased from China, didn't know it too that they locked the firmware but after reading from a couple of guys here, it seems it's locked. Battery is draining like crazy , 1% every 20-30 secs. I think it could be firmware but maybe it could be hardware as well
This could be a faulty app/firmware---which can be detected by some system monitoring apps on Play Store---a bad kernel or some faulty hardware...
There's no solution for faulty hardware... just dump it if you can't bring it to a service center
Can you root and install a custom ROM on a locked firmware? (sorry I've never used a locked phone before) This could be a fix if it's a faulty app/firmware/kernel.

Bricked phone?

Hi,
I have problem with my Note II. I was running Omega rom for 2 weeks without any problems but today in the morning I could not to charge my phone. So I turned off the phone to charge it while is off but when I connected the cable, phone immediately booted (it is bug of rom). So I flashed CyanogenMod. Now Iam running CM11 and when I connect phone to charger it shows me that it is charging and LED diod is lightning but it doesnt charge phone. TWRP recovery also cant charge it. I tried to connect phone to PC and with Odin flash stock rom but PC doesnt recognize my phone although on the phone is showing that it is connected (drivers on the pc I have installed). I really dont know where is problem. Sorry for my bad english, thanks for help.
1. Did you try other chargers?
2. Did you try other cables to pc?
3. Is it possible you have damaged the usb port?
4. Do you have an external battery charging device? Will the battery charge?
5. Do you have a second battery? Any difference?
If you've damaged the usb port then either replace it (I'm not sure how big a job this is but typically it's not a big job, depends how and what it is joined to.)
Or get a second battery and external charger.
I have ignored software issues. I'm not sure what has influence over charging, but certainly the kernel is involved - you've change rom and kernels. The bootloader the same but without odin or some indication it could even cause the issue changing it is by other means isn't a good choice. If you can get a 2nd device, visually inspect the port to see if its damaged, do the same with the charger.
Good luck

1. yes
2. yes
3. I dont know, but on CyanogenMod is LED diod shining and phone can detect that it is charging, but in fact it doesnt charge it. And OTG is working too, so I think USB is not damaged.
4. I havent any external battery
5. I tried my second battery but it is doing that same, phone is not charging.
I think it is maybe software brick or something similar and flashing stock rom I think maybe can help but there is problem that PC doesnt recognize my phone so Odin cant find device too /drivers I have installed/.
Thanks
If your only indication that this is a software issue, is that you get a response but no charge; I wouldn't be surprised if a damaged charging contact did that. Also, the battery contact points are worth inspection. If you ever got these things wet and didnt dry them straight away rust starts and never stops.
You should change your thread title, when someone sees brick they think off and won't switch on. Your title should, "Can't charge battery; odin won't connect"
I agree it could be a software issue, but apart from trying other versions of odin (3.0.7 & 3.0.9), on other pcs too; the only other solution to software issues is JTAG. Which isn't really a solution for most. Anyway, again good luck, oh and press thanks rather than say it

Many issues

I have galaxy tab s wifi 10.5
I bought it from Kuwait about 7 months ago.after about 1 month I begin to face many problems with it such as:-
1-the battery empty very fast it going down from 100 to 80 to 50 and ect.
When I connect it with the charger I found that it's after 8 hours, only got 20% and when I take off the charger,it's directly turn off the device.you can say that the device works only when connected to charger.
I send it back to the manufacture and told them that there is a problem with battery and after 2 days they called me to get my device back saying that the problem only with firmware and it's ok now.
2- I begin to use it and after about 3 days, I found Avery strange issue
That the home button, back button and recent app button dosent work and the only work when I shake the device or put it on the screen and put it back again or use the device with the book cover.
3-also when the battery reach to 10% and connect it with the charger and try to use the device while charging, it turn off automatically and show the sign of battery charging on the screen and don't want to turn on again untill I disconnect the charger from the device but when I try to charge it from the PC, it dosent turn off and show the battery on the screen.
I tried to install another country firmware but still have the same problems here.
Could anyone pleassssssssssssse help me

If you've even tried firmware from another country it really isn't fixable, you can either replace battery if you can find another one or send it back pal.

To be honest you've knocked the nail on the head with it being hardware, I would say when doing a full factory reset is downloading full factory image from sammobile and flashing tar file through Odin if still problems then hardware...too many things going wrong at the same time cooincidently.

Z5P bricked after 3 vibrations reset... No chance for repair service nor warranty(UB)

Hello!
Well, I had the really bad luck of a very bad hard brick... my xperia was on low battery (around 15%) the last time that I use it, then around 20min later I got it and try to check, but screen didn't turn on, and the Led was blinking White color, since I deal in the past with this issues (around 3 or 4 times), I connect the usb cable to power adapter and simply did the reset button under sim flap, and my phone made the normal 3 vibrations, so, I hope that everything was fine, however, after that, I simply try turn on it, but never happen, No led of charge, no more vibrations and no power on, no signal of operation at all... so, I test remove and reconnect the usb cable and nothing, so, I try make another sim flap reset button test, but at this time and until now, no more 3 vibrations response and nothing else... and now, after reading some many posts, and try everything suggested in other posts about I really sad and hope for some help or feedback, if somebody may help...
By now I tested on my windows 7 notebook, and at first the phone was not recognized by drivers however it shows the bad message QHUSB_BULK error usb device, in later attempts, I made after some buttons tests looking for some response I got the phone change the messague, at the moment of connect it with usb cable to my pc, it was recognized as SEMC Flash Device... In both cases windows didnt allow or recognized for a proper driver installation....
But after other attempts, I lost the SEMC Flash Device status, and by now not remember what I did to get this mode or if it may be of some help...
By now I am really worry, since I got my phone from Hong Kong, and it came and worked fine until today, but in my country there is no service for this model since it not still on sale at official dealers/ carriers, and I believe that I don't have warranty service (since is an international purchase and not on local dealer) and also because I Unlock Bootloader for getting root and Sony records that information for warranty purposes (since I unlocked BL, I installed TWRP then I installed the romAUR custom rom and I upgraded it to 1.25 version with last kernel available from the same rom thread but thas was a month ago and phone worked fine after all custom rom installation)...
By now, I would like to ask if may be possible please, some guidance and help...
1) I was made attempts by the last 6 hours after brick without luck, and I wonder and suppose that the battery may be very low, but since I don't get any charging led, I wonder if by left It connected to the original sony charger with original sony cable (almost new and working both, and also tested both with other cell), my bricked phone may still get some charge on the battery.... somebody konws if possible to charge an xperia bricked?... I wonder/hope about that, if may be a charged battery may help in got the 3 vibes reset again that I hope may fix the issue and return my phone to boot...
2) Since seems that i don't have chance to get repair service on warranty since I unlocked my phone (and in my country the cost service for such model could easily be so high as almost a new phone), and also low chance for a warranty replacement from seller, I wonder about take the chance of open it and try to remove battery connector at a last resort since , I may suppose that this may allow for clear internal electrical charged registers of system and may allow me for a reset, but I wonder if the white flap sim buttons really did the same, that is simply open the battery connections, but, I doubt about that, since in this procedure the cel made 3 vibes and the energy for the vibes need to come form a connected battery...
3) May somebody with more luck, knowledge and experience, may suggest or share some help or advice about this issue...
I am a long time cell phone fan and long time in the issues of unlocking and installing custom roms, but until today, and after I survived many other phones bricks, my highest and loved phone of all my time, is bricked in a way that I am start to desperate, since I almost no clue by now about what could I try looking for a fix....
So, thanks in advance and if some body may help, I would be very grateful....
Is there really a reset button under the sim flap? Maybe you damaged the internals when trying this..

Yes, I've used it many times it's highly unlikely to damage it from that. Unless you press it harder than a gentle touch.
Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
Yes, there it is, well, by now I am collecting more info and try about fully discharge my phone in order to get a RED permanent charging Led light (for future reference, seems that a Pulsing RED charging led means NO detection of battery...), by no today at morning I put my phone on charger and it only warn a little, and according with some info, the best chance by now is to plug it for a long time (other models of xperia reports around wait 24+ hours for get a RED permanent light...)
By now, I already purchased a set of adhesive gaskets, in preparation to open my phone (I did in the past and have some skills for doing it, but not that I really like to do over a so new and expensive phone... ), since by now, if I fail in got a RED permanent charging light, seems that the next step is to open back cover a remove battery connector, plug in usb cable connected to wall charger and then after 3 minutes wait, reconnect battery connector with the usb cable still attached, this would reset a really brick phone, and suppose tho reset the charging process of xperias...
By now, and in case of help other people that may need it now or in future, the guide that I am following advice is this:
[GUIDE] Recover 2012 and newer XPERIAs from SOFT-brick
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
The info in the page seems with lots of sense, and the charging process description seems very similar at I would believe could be used in my previously Z2 and my now in comma, Z5P.... But by now, I need to get a RED light in order to try to unbrick without need to open back cover glass....
Any info, advice, comments or better, experience share, would be very gratefull...
Best regards...
Did you ever solve the problem? My Z5 died and wont turn on. Flashing lights when the usb is plugged in. Tried unplugging the battery and charging for hours
you have no fastboot ( vol+ blue led ) and no flashmode ( vol- green led )?
No, only a flashing red light when plugged in. The phone dos not react to any buttons.
Sony Xperia Companion does not recognize the phone.
"lsusb" in linux shows nothing when i plug the phone in.

I know you probably have but did you try holding volume up and power to force reset it?
You say you couldn't get a proper installation of hardware, so the computer can see the device? Is it showing an exclamation point next to the device driver?

Edit: Go to device manager and right click phone and do update drivers.
Click browse for update yourself and direct it to WINDOWS/INF folder and check "include subfolders".
Then click where it says "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Then click Android phone from the list and click MTP USB driver and click OK for install.
Your phone should be installed correctly.
Then try fastboot etc.
