I'm having that problem now. I followed your instructions and got to the recovery mode or "Odin Mode" and it's been saying it's downloading for about 10 min or so. Any idea on how long it should take ?

Follow these instructions implicitly.
Hold POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME.
As soon as it restarts change to VOL UP while still holding the other buttons.
Do NOT let go of any of the buttons until recovery boots.

That's what I've been doing exactly but for some reason it just goes right back to the logo screen. I was able to get into the recovery mode one time out of 100 and I went through the process of factory reset but it didn't solve the problem. Now I can't get back into it. It's weird because I have no problem getting into the download mode pressing the volume down but volume up doesn't seem to work. Not sure why or what to do
I'd try reflashing stock recovery then try booting into it again.
If it flashes then you should be able to boot into it.

How exactly would I do that? I'm not to inclined when it comes to this stuff so any help you can give would be appreciated
Install Samsung usb drivers, put your tab into download mode, connect to pc, run Odin, load the file into the AP slot then click start.

You haven't bricked anything, there could be any number of reasons why it won't boot past the logo.
Easiest way to resolve it would be to reinstall the stock rom.
The second image is download mode.

That's the exact same situation I'm in. Every time I restart it I can't get passed that damn Samsung logo screen. I tried the whole flash with Odin process but I realized that when I connect the tablet to the computer, I get an "MTP Device Driver Failed" message so I'm assuming since the computer doesn't recognize it, even tried with KEIS and it doesn't, that I'm unable to complete the Odin job because that goes until 'Initialization' and stops there. Were you able to fix yours?

No I can't. I've tried a thousand times in all different sequences of holding the three buttons and it just doesn't go. It's SM-T800. They screen shots on the first page is exactly what I get. Either the logo screen when trying to get into recovery or download mode which it has no problem going into.

The two files below should boot you directly into recovery as soon as you start the tablet if you can flash them. Flash with Odin from the AP slot.
Make sure you put the device into DOWNLOAD mode first then connect your usb cable!
You can then do a factory reset and then try and flash the stock rom.
Stock recovery
Twrp recovery

Yeah I tried that too but when I connect the tablet to my comp, I get this 'Samsung Mobile MTP Device Failed' message so my comp doesn't even recognize the tablet. I even tried connecting with KEIS but that doesn't see it either because of that error. Idk if that's related to this issue that I'm having but I'm assuming that since the comp doesn't recognize the tablet because of that error, it won't finish the ODIN job. I get up to 'Initialization' and nothing after. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung drivers and that didn't work either. Seems I can't catch a break here

Mtp, kies and anything else is irrelevant, they are OS dependent.
Just put the tablet into download mode. Download mode works in boot loader mode. No need for the os.

Ok we need to take this step by step as theres something amiss here.
DID YOU AT ANY POINT WHILE THE TABLET WAS WORKING ENABLE 'REACTIVATION LOCK'?
1. Ensure the Samsung drivers are installed (important) Samsung usb driver
2. Before connecting anything to the PC put the tablet in DOWNLOAD mode first.
3. Plug the USB cable into a USB 2 port
4. Wait for the 'ADDED' message (if you dont get this it wont work)
5. Load the tar file into the AP slot.
6. Click START
7. If it doesn't start to flash reboot the tablet directly back into DOWNLOAD mode without touching anything else then unplug and replug the USB cable back in.
8. If it still doesn't flash try ODIN 3.07 ODIN
9. Report back and post a screenshot (if it doesn't work).

I know for a fact that I never enabled the Reactivation Lock.. But you know, after literally days and hours including my entire weekend just searching the internet and trying every possible fix scenario that people have tried, I just gave in and sent it to Samsung this afternoon to have them fix it. Nothing I was doing seemed to work and I do believe I tried everything within my little knowledge to try. Let me ask you though, when I get it back in normal working order, would going through the steps to install the TWRP recovery and a ROM prevent me from being in this situation again or at least be able to actually fix it on my own?
If you dont mind tripping Knox and possibly warranty then I believe installing custom recovery is one of the best tools you can Install to a device.
It can get you back to a working state in minutes if you make a full backup.
It's a no brainer to install custom recovery if you intend to root and modify the device in any way.

To go Into recovery mode hold Home +Volumen up and Power button , when you see Samsung Logo hold only Home and Vulome up for the next around 20 sec that you See the recovery menu.
Please help me !
I have the same problem, I've took the steps to aquire recovery but nothing happens
On my 8.0 recovery is power+volume up, no home button. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.
Try downloading an app like " rebooter" from the play store. See if that will get u into it.
Also I use power/vol up to get into recovery.

dude where can I get the recovery? please do share tge link ... I'm having the same problem!!
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids version (SM-T2105). It is only a Wifi tablet. I never rooted and USB debugging is not enabled (Keep this in mind). It is pure stock firmware. My 9yr old daughter has locked herself out. The Lock Screen password does not work. Because I can not gain access, I do not know exactly what firmware version it has or enable USB debugging (again - keep this in mind). The tablet will not boot to recovery mode, no matter what button combination I use. It only boots back to the Lock Screen. I tried in Regular Mode and Safe Mode. The only other mode that works is Download Mode (for Odin).
I am trying to do a Factory Reset, but I can not get into Recovery Mode. I tried flashing the stock firmware using Odin, but that does not work even after everthing PASSED with green lights (Odin 3.10.7). The tablet just reboots back to the same Lock Screen. Also, because the tablet is not enabled with USB debugging I can not do anything with ADB.
So basically I am stuck on the Lock Screen, and cant get into Recovery Mode in order to do a Factory Reset. Also, Odin flash is not working, even though everything says completed successfully. I have read in another post that other people are experiancing the same issue not being able to get into Recovery Mode (even when the tablet is not locked out and working fine). See this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/help/samsung-galaxy-tab-3-7-kids-t2105-t-t3294954
Can anyone help me. I beleive the tablet is stock in a soft brick that doesn't allow access to Recovery Mode. And the Locked Screen password is preventing me from getting into the table OS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And my 9yr old daughter will be happy again...
Thanks,
ggee
Hello,
I'm not sure which one of these did the trick for me, but I was able to get into recovery mode. I'm not sure if your three tables are rooted or not, but I don't think it matters. Try these two methods:
Method #1:
Technically, I think I just stumbled on to this one after successfully completing Method #2 (below). But it's worth trying it first before moving on to Method #2.
-Hold the Home + Volume Up + Power buttons together at the same time (just like the normal process).
-Now, you will probably need to try this next step a couple of time before you get it right. This is because it happens pretty fast and you need to time it perfectly.
-Notice that when the screen turns on, the actual first thing that happens is that the the screen backlight turns on and glows first. This happens first and a split second later the first Samsung logo flashes.
-You need to let go of all three buttons at the same time as soon as you see the backlight turn on, but before the Samsung logo flashes.
This is the sweet spot, and it happens pretty fast. But once you do it at the right time, the tablet will go black again and then the recovey mode will show up. It works for me every time.
Method #2:
I thought somehow the recovey mode portion of the firmware had become corrupter somehow. So I decided to flash a custom recovery using Odin (since at that time I hadn't stumbled onto Method #1 yet). Make sure to download and flash the CWM or TWRP .tar file for Odin (I personally have always liked CWM over TWRP).
-Make sure you have all the correct USB drivers for the tablet installed on your computer.
-Open Odin and load the .tar file that you downloaded into the PDA or AP slot (depending on your Odin version).
-Let Odin check the m5d verification for successful authorization.
-Once Odin is ready, then boot the tablet into Download Mode (Home + Volume Down + Power button)
-Connect the table to a USB cable that is attached to your computer's main USB port.
-Odin should now recognize that the table it connected to a valid COM port.
-Click <Start> button on Odin and it should flash the costum recovey .tar file pretty quickly.
-The tablet will simultaneously flash a progress bar and start to automatically reboot (also pretty quickly).
-Disconnect the tablet from the USB cable now.
If the tablet does not automatically reboot to the new custom recovery screen, then just power off the tablet completely. Wait 30 seconds, and then boot the table to recovery mode use the Method #1 shown above. You should now be able to go into the new custom recovery mode you flashed with Odin (CMW or TWRP). It should all work now.
From this point you can download and install SuperSU to add root (if you want to).
Let me know if this works for you.

You need to boot to recovery immediately after flashing.
Somebody posted this, I made a copy, It`s called the Button Ballet.
First off, uncheck autoreboot in odin. Second, you have to act fast. You have to reapply twrp and follow these steps because twrp was overwritten after the reboot. Go into download mode and flash twrp with odin (IMPORTANT: uncheck autoreboot). After odin confirms success flash, press button combo to get into download mode (power + vol. down + home button) but DO NOT LET IT GO INTO DOWNLOAD MODE. Act fast, as soon as you see a completely black screen ( i.e. no samsung or android logo), move your finger quickly from vol down to vol up while not letting go of the other two buttons. If you fail and the tablet goes into download mode you just have to try again to go into download mode but when the screen is black move finger from vol down to vol up while holding the other buttons. However if you fail and the phon reboots into android, you must go into download mode, reapply twrp and do the button ballet again.
*
Once you get to twrp flash your favorite ROM (i.e. "official" CM for the SM-T800). As soon as you put a custom rom on it twrp will not be overwritten at (re)boot.

Lineage /Oreo was installed thru TWRP 3.xxx, running fine but unhappy , no Viper4Android , so I installed it as a module on Magisk,
after installing the driver, was ask to reboot as directed, but went into bootloop , stuck on a boot loop " Set Warranty Bit : kernel " top left corner and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on screen ; I tried Vol Up +Home+ power combo and all other combi I could think but no luck , Odin wont recognize my phone, tried Samsung 300k tool with no luck, I fell like a newbie after using so many ROMs on all of my devices, I google how to get back to download mode but no luck, I need help to make my Samsung note 3 work again, PLEASE. THANKS.
Hi,
I have same phone but I'm running Resurrection Remix 6 which is based on LineageOS 15.1 and I'm able to use the Viper module through Magisk 16.3 without any problems. No bootloops, no nothing.
I never would have guessed that a sound mod could brick the device to the point that the buttons no longer function. Hopefully other users will chime in and help you fix it.
Best of luck.
EDIT: Try taking the battery out to force it to shut down and then try the recovery/download mode technique again. Sometimes, it'll end up in a bootloop and the buttons will be become unresponsive. I know it may seem a bit strange, but that scenario is entirely possible given the age of the device.

The jig that I bought didnt do anything so I make my own, I can go to download mode now, installed this ROM/firmware N900TUVUCNB4_N900TTMBCNB4_N900TUVUCNB4_HOME.tar.md5 succesfully but wont go pass beyond the tmobile logo, tried a few more firmware and lately this N900TUVUFOL1 and also , am stuck to Tmobile logo, anybody knows which firmware would likely bring my note 3 back to life, thanks in advance.:
Try this:
Uncheck everything in Odin except f reset time. Flash the latest ROM again. When you see the word "reset" in the status WIndow, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace battery, boot into recovery mode using buttons, factory wipe, and reboot.

Thanks Audit13,
I manage to restore my Note 3 to TMobile Android 5 using repair firmware , it looks like I wipe out the partition ,My phone runs like new, am just wondering why I cant go to Download mode with button combinations of Volume -/Home/power , tried to install twrp via Odin, it says PASS but Vol +/Home/Power wont lead me to bootloader, did tried CWM , it will boot up but before I could start using it, it will reboot to normal and I could not go back to bootloader with button combo Vol+/Home/Power........HELP...
Download mode is volume down+home+power.
To flash TWRP with Odin, try this:
Open Odin and only check f reset time. Flash TWRP. When you see the word reset in the Odin status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace battery, press home + volume up + power.
N900TUVUFOB6_N900TTMBFOB6_TMB and N900 PIT - are the files am using after screwing up my partition( I dont know how I did that ), this Note 3 is running like a hot knife on a butter BUT the only bug I notice is Volume Up + Home + Power ( recovery) NOR Volume Down + Home + Power (download ) does not work, I can only go to download mode using a USB JIG and no other way. I can flash TWRP via Odin with Auto-reboot not ticked , so I could remove cable, battery , hoping to get me to recovery mode but I couldnt. Did I miss a step?I need help.
[SOLVED] Download mode can't be removed, I had to try all dat long but I finally could boot into it.
Hi,
So... I had a working Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960F/DS) running Lineage OS yesterday. I noticed something wrong related to the mobile network in my country (FR) and decided to flash the correct stock firmware matching the country code XEF before doing a full LOS reinstall.
Fast-forward 20hrs of download, I perform the flash operation this morning using heimdall(1) and reboot.
Now, the phone bootloops. I can't get into download mode as usual, and the only thing that is available is the stock recovery mode that allows:
apply update from adb
apply update from sdcard
wipe data
wipe cache
mount /system
view logs
run graphics test
I have a working all-countries firmware archive that contains the one that was working previously (minus the mobile network problem). But since I don't have download-mode anymore I can't install it. I tried adb sideload (which is available via the "apply update from adb" option), wipe data/cache to no avail.
Is that hard-brick? Did you ever experience a similar situation? I think there's no way out of this but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks again!
You should be able to get into Download Mode (Vol Down & Bixby & Power)
Keep trying, try keeping hold of the button combo until after the phone reboots twice hopefully the second time into download mode
Download mode has nothing to do with firmware or recovery that has been flashed, and if you can enter recovery mode, it doesn't sound like a hardware problem either
And use a Windows machine & ODIN 3.13.1 to flash stock
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work, i tried many tiimes and I usually can do that very easily. It seems flashing the corrupted images wiped it out.

Impossible as it is not part of the firmware, nor can be touched by firmware, it is part of the hardware (Think BIOS vs OS)
You can even 100% wipe all internal storage clean so there is no OS at all and download mode will still work fine
Keep trying
Okay I guess it's possible that the download mode is still there but I can't reach it.
I've been trying hundreds of times every combination I can think of (including Home + Vol Down + Power that used to work).
Any alternative way to trigger the download mode ?
How are you trying Home? There is no physical home button
The button combo is Vol Down & Bixby & Power from a powered off state
Keep a hold of all 3 until it hits the Warning screen, then hit Vol Up to enter Download mode
No other way to access it that I know of, USB Jig hasn't worked since a few models back
Have you tried factory resetting from inside recovery? Unless you used CSC during the stock firmware flash, that could be a reason for the bootloop

How are you trying Home? There is no physical home button

Yeah sorry, speaking of the Bixby button.

The button combo is Vol Down & Bixby & Power from a powered off state

That's what used to work indeed. I did that many times before.

I tried factory reset/wipe cache from inside the recovery and yes, I used CSC.

Maybe the issue is with the Volume Down button, does it work inside of recovery for navigating the menu ?
What happens when you try entering Download mode? It just tries to boot as if you didn't press anything?
Only other thing is to hold Volume Down & Bixby, then connect the USB cable to power it on (instead of using the power button)

The volume down button works perfectly in the recovery menu.
When I try entering download mode normally while device is powered down, the phone never turns on.
When I try to hold the buttons during the interval of the boot loop, it goes to recovery (yes, even with volume down, not volume up).
The other technique you mentioned also went to recovery.

Impossible as it is not part of the firmware, nor can be touched by firmware, it is part of the hardware (Think BIOS vs OS)
You can even 100% wipe all internal storage clean so there is no OS at all and download mode will still work fine
Keep trying

BINGO! I kept trying. Did this all day literally hundreds of times.
And it just worked.
I didn't change the way I do it, I think there was some nasty timing going on with the boot loop.
Anyways... lesson learnt: download mode is indeed hardcoded. What a day!
Thanks for being so helpful!

Good stuff, yea well whatever it was hopefully it's sorted now, use ODIN this time
Hello, I have the A705FN/DS and I tried do Custom Recovery and ROOT but i'm suck on this screen ( https://imgur.com/lVOX4rt ), i can't boot in recovery or download mode, i can't use the phone, Someone can help me?! Already tried a lot of things on internet but nothing so far..
Try not to panic, I've seen this several times.
- Plug the charger cable into the phone.
- Press and hold all three buttons (up volume/ down volume / power) at the same time and keep holding them, wait (at least 10 seconds+), phone will reboot (keep holding all three buttons and wait), even if it says 'press power button to continue, wait), hold the buttons and wait. It may reboot again....
- Keep holding the buttons until the screen goes black then release all 3, this should take you to a blue screen, slightly different blue to the normal download screen, with 3 options:
1. Press the up button once and quickly to download a customer OS. <- Select this option.
2. Long press the up button to go in device bootlock mode.
3. Press 3 to restart.
Start ODIN and download/flash stock firmware for your phone.
If you do get to download mode, be sure to uncheck 'reboot automatically' in Odin, just in case you have some failures, you can click on the 'Reboot to download' in Odin without have to fuss about with all the button all the time.
You must reboot to download mode EVERY time a failure happens before trying to flash again, else you'll need to do the 3 finger thing all over again.....
Worked for me! :good:
Might take a few attempts to get to the download mode, but you should be able to recover it, no worries (had this last night).
Update if it works!
i installed trwp successfully. After that i decided to flash havok os. After that phone went into bootloop. It loads only to twrp and stacks on twrp logo screen(with its build number) no reaction on buttons. Any chances to do something with Odin?

First, make sure that you've the latest official firmware is downloaded on your computer. Then, prepare your phone's cable by connecting it's one end to the computer, keep the phone disconnected for now.
Open odin, prepare all the official firmware's files including ap, bl, csc etc. All of them. And make sure that you've selected the CSC file, NOT the HomeCSC..
Now, you should read this paragraph completely before taking action. First take yor phone and put you fingers over the volume buttons (both of them, up and down) and the power button. Wait until screen turns off (as you said, it was stucked on TWRP). Once it turns of and it's black, dont waste so much time and connect the other end of the cable to your phone and wait till a blue screen shows up.
Now, if the screen is showing you options like Download Mode or Bootloader Unlocking, tap to volume up to enter download mode. If it's not showing you options and it is showing a warning screen like the screen mentioned in the first entry up here, it's ok, you're in download mode.
Start the proccess with odin. Then tell me the result. If it stucks at the end of the 'SYSTEM' installing, tell me that before waiting longer than 10 minutes after all the sign of life dissapears in odin. Waiting for your respond ^^

Thank you very much! I will try that asap, since the official firmware still downloads(probably several hours). I just recorded a video of how things look right now.

Ok, tbh you're phone is in a nice condition. You can relax if you're not. Several hours? This seems long, if it is not about your network speed, I mean if you're installing the firmware from a website please try to install it via frija instead. You can find it here.: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/how-to/galaxy-a70-firmware-list-variants-t3957239
And, please be sure that you're installing the right firmware for your model.
The only thing you should do is pressing all the buttons simultaneously and connect the phone to the computer while the phone's screen is off. Then enter the download mode.
Oh yes! Thank you, sir! i got to that blue screen.

I'm using the Samsung Galaxy A70 (SM-A705MN/DS) on T-Mobile. Got it on Amazon.
Came with case, earbuds, and 128G SD card, but only a USB-C to USB-C for charging. You'll need a different cable if you plan on rooting.
My post about it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t-variants-t3957239/post81388071#post81388071
Rooted and running below, btw ?
Magisk 20.2, Manager 7.5.0
EdXposed Installer 2.2.5
Riru Core 19.5
Riru - EdXposed v0.4.5.1_beta (4463) (SandHook)
did you unlock bootloader on youres? and the usb-C cable it comes with doesnt work if you want to root? is there a special type c or just another one? because i have a type C cable

Why only flashing ap? Flash all the files. Csc And Home_csc has a difference. if you flash csc, your data will be formatted. If you want to keep your data, flash home_csc. Dont flash only ap. How did you try to enter twrp? did you try to flash ap over a phone with custom recovery? Flash all the files. Hope you backed up your data. Try to flash all files with home csc, not only csc. if doesnt work, flash all the files but with csc this time.
To enter download mode, be sure that your phone's screen is black and connect the phone to pc at the same time you press all the buttons.
