No Gmail Push Notification After Upgrading to Lollipop - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I made sure that auto sync is checked, deleted gmail account, wiped gmail app data cache, system cache partition, google framework cache, did battery pull.....
Just could not make gmail to receive notification.
The only thing I haven't tried is a factory reset, which I really don't want to do unless I can be sure that it is my phone, not gmail app or google's service, that is causing the problem.
I don't see other AT&T Note 4 users complaining about it in xda. Is it just me? I did see some related comments in play store.

Did you need to move the date to update?

Gmail not working

Yesterday I updated to a 3.70 rom, gmail synced fine and I had no trouble receiving emails. Now I can't send emails and it looks like I never could also it says I have 4 emails but I can't view them. What should I do? Should I try reinstalling the gmail app, as I restored it from a backup?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I added another account as a test and it is working great should should I try removing and then adding my primary account?

Did you try going into Manage Applications and clearing Data and Cache for gmail?
It won't delete your emails and It'll all reload once you open it up again.
1) Try clearing cache+data for Gmail.
2) Try removing and re-adding your account.
3) See if you can log in to Google Talk.
Those should narrow down the problem.
Solution (if rooted)
I had this same problem, try to send and the messages stay stuck on sending and notifications won't clear. clearing cache and data, and reboot didn't work.
Uninstalled with titanium as was installed on system and reinstalled from market. works perfectly now

Calendar not syncing

So, I am running JIBwich's ICS ROM, but do not think this is ROM related. My calendar stopped syncing, so I deleted the data under Calendar and Calendar Storage. When I first went back in to the Calendar, it asked if I would like to add an account. I told it Existing of course, but when enter the Google account info that is already on the phone elsewhere (GMail, G+, Docs etc), it tells me it is already there. So I go back and hit Not Now, and I have a blank calendar. If I go into the calendar settings, I have no calendars to select to sync with. How can I correct this?
Edit: When I go to Accounts & Sync, and select my Google account, shouldn't Calendar be one of the options with a check box? I do not see it in there...
Anyone...?
More info on this: If I goto www.google.com/calendar on my phone, it also shows no entries, but if I goto the calendar from a PC it shows everything... what has happened???
Can anyone even confirm that is running ICS if Calendar is suppose to be under your account in Accounts & Sync in the settings? This is driving me mad!
...is this thing on...? Bump!
Well, not sure why it worked this time, but did the super wipe, reflashed JIBwich and latest gapps(2012-02-24) and now Calendar is back under Accounts & Sync and all is good.
I have the same problem with my Desire running ICS but I don't want to wipe everything to fix it.
Well, I am not sure of any other solution. As mentioned, after a wipe, the Calendar does show up under the Google accounts in Accounts & Sync. This started after clearing data from Calendar and Calendar Storage. When I did the first wipe, I let it do the auto restore of account info, but whatever problem I had with the Calendar must have been restored. So I did the second wipe and told it not to restore, and all was well.

[Q] Calenda Sync Driving Me Crazy !

Hello, I hope I can get some help from you guys about what is a petty issue I am having. I am having trouble getting my Google Calendar to sync up. The particulars are whenever I text GVENT and add a Calendar event i get the confirmation text message stating the even was added. However when I go into the Calendar it does not reflect the event was added. I can see the event on the online Google Calendar. If I manually sync the calendar the event appears on my mobile calendar. So I guess the issue is that the Calendar is not Auto Syncing. I have done the following. made sure auto sync is on, ensured the correct calendar is linked up, and even cleared data and cache. Removed account and added it back. I just reflashed this rom and it's not working now. Since I can sync it up manually is it rom related? Or something simple? Driving me crazy !
So after a day of searching I found the answer. Restoring system data in Titanium backup caused me to have this trouble. After re-flashing and restoring only certain basic apps without any system data it is fixed. Yea !:good:

[Q] Stock email stopped working

This morning, I noticed my phone had not received emails since yesterday on the stock email app. Use this for my work email, just 1 account with the app.
It says it is synced. I can send emails without a problem. The settings are correct. It just won't refresh my inbox. I tried deleting my account, wiped the app's data and cache, powered down and pulled battery. Set it all back up, still not working. Tried wiping phone's cache, still not working. Haven't done any updates to apps or installed anything new etc.
Outlook on my pc uses the exact same settings, works fine. Tried downloading an email app from Google Play, works fine.
Wtf over?

Gmail app not syncing automatically

Hi,
I have done my research before posting this thread, and I've seen many other similar posts but none of them helped.
The Gmail app is not syncing automatically so it is not receiving new emails unless I enter the app and swipe down to refresh, or if I turn off and on "Auto-sync data". Things I tried:
I checked that "Auto-sync data" is turned on in my settings and that Gmail sync is checked in my Google account sync settings.
I cleared all the google apps cache (google play services, framework, email, gmail).
I disabled the stock Gmail app then enabled it and updated it.
I force uninstalled Gmail (since my phone is rooted) and reinstalled again from the Play Store.
I rebooted into recovery and cleared cache and dalvik cache.
I removed my Google account and re added it.
I included the Gmail app in "Ignore battery optimizations" in the battery settings, the google play services are included by default and my phone is not in power saving mode.
I checked Gmail app settings, my email address settings, "Notifications" is checked, "Data usage" ->"Sync Gmail" is ticked, "Manage labels" -> Primary sync is on on the last 30 days, "Inbox sound & vibrate" -> "Notify for every message" is unchecked by default but I checked it.
Using LG G3 on Marshmallow 6.0 stock rooted.
I just re did what I mentioned in my initial post but all at the same time, I turned of Auto-sync, removed my Google account, cleared Gmail, Google Play services, Play store, Google services framework and Email cache, rebooted into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache, added back my google account, turned on auto sync and it worked. So nothing new, I tried them all before but not successively, but I am sure it's not my phone's problem and it's a bug in Google's apps or Gmail since a lot of other users have faced the same problem which is unfortunate.
THANK YOU!

THANK YOU! I have been on and off trying to figure out this issue for 2 months until I could not take it anymore. I tried all of the guides from google, articles on android websites, forum posts etc. but nothing was working. I even tried installing the inbox app and still, that was not working. I was about to give up hope and just factory reset my phone until I tried your instructions and it worked! And oddly enough, my battery life has drastically improved. Thank you so much for following up on your original post
