So, I am running JIBwich's ICS ROM, but do not think this is ROM related. My calendar stopped syncing, so I deleted the data under Calendar and Calendar Storage. When I first went back in to the Calendar, it asked if I would like to add an account. I told it Existing of course, but when enter the Google account info that is already on the phone elsewhere (GMail, G+, Docs etc), it tells me it is already there. So I go back and hit Not Now, and I have a blank calendar. If I go into the calendar settings, I have no calendars to select to sync with. How can I correct this?
Edit: When I go to Accounts & Sync, and select my Google account, shouldn't Calendar be one of the options with a check box? I do not see it in there...
Anyone...?
More info on this: If I goto www.google.com/calendar on my phone, it also shows no entries, but if I goto the calendar from a PC it shows everything... what has happened???
Can anyone even confirm that is running ICS if Calendar is suppose to be under your account in Accounts & Sync in the settings? This is driving me mad!
...is this thing on...? Bump!
Well, not sure why it worked this time, but did the super wipe, reflashed JIBwich and latest gapps(2012-02-24) and now Calendar is back under Accounts & Sync and all is good.
I have the same problem with my Desire running ICS but I don't want to wipe everything to fix it.
Well, I am not sure of any other solution. As mentioned, after a wipe, the Calendar does show up under the Google accounts in Accounts & Sync. This started after clearing data from Calendar and Calendar Storage. When I did the first wipe, I let it do the auto restore of account info, but whatever problem I had with the Calendar must have been restored. So I did the second wipe and told it not to restore, and all was well.

How the hell do u back your contacts up to Google?? I've searched and I cant find the answers i'm looking for anywhere. Whenever I sync to Google from 'accounts and sync' nothing happens..and now i have successfully deleted all my contacts from my phone after clearing the Contacts app data cache, which i read might help...Luckily i have nandroids to pull the data from.. How exactly do i go about re-flashing the contact data back to the phone from the nandroid, so i can then back em up to Google/export them the the sdcard?? (without restoring the entire nandroid)
Idk if its my ROM or what..but its frustrating..
Go to your gmail account, and click the contacts tab. Do you see any of them there? If not check and make sure that you are saving your contacts to google and not your phone.
Thanks for the quick reply. There's nothing there under the Contacts tab, or any of the sub categories, but how to i check if im syncing them to Google vs the phone?
I cant tell you how to restore your contacts from nandroid, however when you do have them restored go to Settings>Accounts & Sync>Google and make sure you have Sync Contacts checked. This is a 2 way sync so any contacts you have on google will be synced to the phone and the phone to google
Yeah, I've done that as well. It even shows the date when it was last synced..10 min ago, of course i have no contacts to sync now but i'm sure that was working earlier.
I dont know that you can say its not working until you can get those contacts restored, after you do that and sync then lets deal with a non sync issue if there still is one.
I mean I had tried that before I lost the contact data..before I created this thread. The reason i wiped the contacts cache was because sync was not working. I think im just going to do a full nandroid restore anyway and end up installing a different ROM. Any suggestions?
They are automatically backed up when you sync your gmail
As long as u checked back up data with my Google account
This is one thing that I love about Google
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
Yeah, the problem is it's not syncing automatically
After flashing my phone to Cyanogen I imported my contacts off of a backup I had on my sd card and then synched to my Google account. Now everyone on the list has two sets of doubled information, one is from my gmail account, the other is in a section called "Phone Only- unsynced"
How can I wipe out all of this extra information and get everyone back to only one set of information?

The easiest way to fix that will be to do it from the computer. Log on to your Gmail account, and navigate to your contacts. Your entire contact list should be up there. If it's not, re sync your contacts from your phone, then check again. Once you see all the contacts, doubles and all, then just use 'mulit select' and just check off one of each that is doubled up, then delete them. Once you re sync again, the problem should be resolved. I believe that *should* work.
In my Gmail contacts list everyone is there and looks good. On my phone I am synched back to Gmail in the past couple of minutes. There is no double info for anyone on my online list, its that there is this other "On Phone" thing and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I just want my online stuff on my phone. Is there a way to wipe out all my contacts on the phone and then just redownload everything? I tried to delete a contact but that then deleted it off my Gmail account as well.
Okay i figured it out after a little more Googling.
I turned off Google Sync for my contacts. I went into the Manage Applications menu and went to Contacts Storage and cleared out all the data. That wiped out everything on my phone. When I went back into the contacts list it was empty and prompted me to sync up to my gmail account. I did that and everything sorted itself out.

Hmm. I've never done it, but I would think that if you went into menu>settings>accounts and sync, then clicked on your google account, and Uncheck the 'sync contacts' part. Then try deleting one off your phone, and make sure that it doesn't affect your 'online' contacts from your gmail account. As long as it doesn't delete off your gmail contacts as well, then I'd delete them all off your phone. Then re-check the 'sync contacts' in your accounts and sync. That should then re-sync, and get rid of your doubles. In theory, I believe that should work.
EDIT: Glad you got it figured out. We replied back at the same time, looks like you did just as I was suggesting.
Hello, I hope I can get some help from you guys about what is a petty issue I am having. I am having trouble getting my Google Calendar to sync up. The particulars are whenever I text GVENT and add a Calendar event i get the confirmation text message stating the even was added. However when I go into the Calendar it does not reflect the event was added. I can see the event on the online Google Calendar. If I manually sync the calendar the event appears on my mobile calendar. So I guess the issue is that the Calendar is not Auto Syncing. I have done the following. made sure auto sync is on, ensured the correct calendar is linked up, and even cleared data and cache. Removed account and added it back. I just reflashed this rom and it's not working now. Since I can sync it up manually is it rom related? Or something simple? Driving me crazy !
So after a day of searching I found the answer. Restoring system data in Titanium backup caused me to have this trouble. After re-flashing and restoring only certain basic apps without any system data it is fixed. Yea !:good:
I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus running the Evolution rom and having trouble syncing my Google Calendar. When i make an event in either my phone or my computer browser, the event will not carry over to the other device. I added my exchange calendar and that syncs both ways with no problems.
When i go to settings > accounts > google > my google account, Calendar is not in the list to sync, I see Browser, Contacts, Currents, Drive, Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Play Music (in that order).
I have gone thru the calendar settings to look at calendars to display and calendars to sync and it shows up in there but its not actually syncing. I even tried to reflash gapps to no avail.
Any ideas?

Check calendar-menu-calendars to sync and make sure it's checked.

Where are you seeing this? there are no calendars available? When I goto settings->accounts->google, there is no option for calendars. When I goto calendar->settings and select the google user id (i have multiple calendars) it reports no calendars available. Now the first account listed does state This account is being synced so your calendars may not be up to date, but its been saying that for a couple days now.

Hi.
Today I ripped out the Samsung calendar that comes stock with Titanium and installed Google's calendar instead. When I attempted to use the new calendar, I wasn't able to sync at all - when I go to settings to choose calendars to sync, it says "loading" indefinitely. Is there a way around this issue, or am I forced to keep the Samsung apk installed? If so, could someone please post or link to the apk so I don't have to dig it out of a backup. Thanks a lot!

I know this won't help you, however, I have a problem with my T-Mobile Note 2. When I add an event to my Gmail calendar, it will show in my phone but not in my GCalendar. I have tried everything and I get 'Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.' This only applies to my Sync Calendar. Sync Contacts and Gmail does sync properly. Hope someone finds a fix for you.
Please disregard opening post; I have settled the issue myself.

When you say you're adding an event to your Gmail calendar, are you adding the event through the app with the green trim or the app with the blue trim?
If you are using the calendar app made by Google (blue trim), much of the time to settle this issue, all you have to do is go into the app manager and find the calendar storage and wipe cache. I have never had a time where sync wasn't "experiencing problems." It is normal, and Google refuses to fix it. Also, when adding an event, make sure it has your Gmail address as the calender name or a calendar you've made in the cloud selected, because if it says "local" or something like that, it's only being saved to the phone and the phone calendar won't sync, similar to how contacts won't sync on their own to Google unless they are saved as Google contacts.
If instead you are using the Samsung app (green trim), you have to manually sync your calendar to the cloud. It's an annoying process that immediately turned me off to using it in the first place.
Thank you! Fixed

I just downloaded Google Calendar from Google Play and checked my TEST Events and now they are there in all my Calendars. Just re-synced and it worked. I have no idea other than when I installed Google Calendar that corrected the problem. Thanks for your time and reply. I do appreciate your advise. I walked through all your suggestions.
