Hey all,
I got a 360 off of ebay but I'm having some issues. It seems to be stuck in some sort of demo mode that I can't get out of.
Not only that, it won't show up as a blutooth device (maybe because of demo mode?).
Can someone help? Hope I haven't been ripped off with a dummy demo unit :\

Just an update... I managed to get demo mode off with a factory reset. Bluetooth came on after the rest and it's all paired up.
I'd still love to know how to get it on/off demo mode though
I think demo mode is something the factory does for display models, as far as I know there is no way to activate it.
Glad you got it working though!

Hi I had the same thing but on a galaxy S3 I've managed to take this thing out by flashing a new rom.
I've seen one in the development thread and I think you can also flash the official firmware.
Good luck, hope I've helped you
EDIT: Sorry I didn't see that you've solved your problem

Hi guys, after giving great reviews of my personnel experience to others about my Hox, I find my self in a bit of a weird issue. My phone is not rooted or bootloader unlocked. But im have a problem that I'm stuck airplane mode and can't get it to turn off even after a hard reset. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so what could be done to resolve this issue?

No, haven't got an idea, and never saw it posted before, so probably you have use your warranty for this and contact support.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. Just sent to repair centre. I'm only lucky there's a repair centre 2 minutes from my house.
Well got my Hox back today, and a replacement motherboard was the repair, Don't know what caused this issue. But cant complain its sorted now. Well apart from the new imei.
tl:dr Is there a way to check if my hardware is broken before I try fix a software issue?
Long version:
So I have a 1st edtion kindle fire running jellybean, and I think the FFF loader but I'm not sure bc I didn't root it myself.
About a month after it purchased it, it stopped working when I plugged the charger in. I assumed at the time it was a hardware issue, took it to an electronics store who initially told me the connections needed to be soldered, then told me that didn't work and it was a battery issue.
Now i'm not really sure they know what they are talking about and am wondering if it's maybe a software issue. I'm going to play the fun game of learning about bootloaders etc (or possibly a friend in the same country as the device will) but I don't want to go to all that trouble if it really is a battery issue.
The device doesn't turn on or have any lights or anything, but I read that it won't charge if the software is borked, so I suspect that could be why.
Alternatively, does anyone have a spare serial number they don't need so I can just pay Amazon $100 to send me a new one?

It's most likely a hardware problem. They were right.

Do you say this because it stopped working when I charged it? Or just because that is more likely.

Well if it won't turn on and won't charge, there's nothing you can do to see if it's a software issue.

Well that is what i thought initally, but I was wondering if i would still get something out of it when I hooked it up to a computer.
So everyone else that says that it won't boot up and won't charge just means they can't get it to run an actual OS?
Hey Guys,
i hope you can help me.
I have a Galaxy W and I'm using arcos CM10.1 for a while now. 3 Weeks ago I decided to update to arcos latest Beta 4. It was running as good as always for the 3 weeks - but as I went to bed on Friday evening my Wonder had about 50% battery and when I woke up it was turned off. At first I thought the battery collapsed, so I tried loading it but it didn't help. My Mother also has a Galaxy W, so I put in her battery, but it didn't help either.
The Problem is: no matter what I try, when I push the Power-Button the screen stays black and nothing happens. No vibration or anything. So I'm not able to boot in recovery or anything else.
Is there anything I can do? Do you think this is a Hardware-issue?
I'm barely over the warranty, so sending it to Samsung is no real option.
There were a lot of photos on the internal SD-Card - is there a way to save them?
Thank you guys! :crying:

The same thing is happened to me the battery from 70% is dropped to 0% and the next morning I can't power on but when I tried to charge my phone I saw the charger animation so I waited until the battery is upped to 100%.
I think it's an overheathing problem cause now my battery works fine:good:
Thanks for your Reply!
The problem is even if I put it on the Charger - nothing happens...
That means I don't see the charger animation either...
And I tried different cables (USB and DC) ...
Any other idea?

Mine didn't turn on, got a JTAG, it worked fine (is dead now, fell in water, got new one) You should try that, if not fixed. Then the logic board is dead

That sounds great
So I did some research and found out, that such a JTAG (I found "RiffBox") is about 150$
Isn't there any cheaper method?
I mean if I spend 150$ I could nearly buy a new phone...
I found UnBrickableResurrector on xda.
But I'm not sure if it works for our device
Has anyone worked with that before?
Or knows a cheaper JTAG?
EDIT: Found someone to borrow an USB Jig. Will try this at first.
Also I found a local phone repair shop - they'll do a JTAG for about 25$, so if the Jig won't help it's worth a thinking...
I'll write again if I know more :fingers-crossed:

Great find, see if that supports our Wonder, and the cheapest JTAG here is around 12$, But trust me, it is worth it.
jtag usb jig diy guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-how-to-make-usb-jig-reset-binary-t1604707
That thread is for USB jig only......
The chances are that a jig WILL NOT WORK......it takes a bootlooping phone and forces download mode.....if your phone is totally unresponsive.... eg not even powering on to get as far as bootloop....the jig will be useless.
I think the only option is JTAG......
but I think that it might delete the files that you are worried about.....
Check with the repairer first.
Also find out if you will still be charged if the JTAG fails.....
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
Hey Guys, sorry for the late response.
It seems the Galaxy W is dead - no USB Jig and no JTAG could revive it
Looks like the hardware is dead. So I had to order a new phone.
I'm now proud owner of a Google Nexus 5, which is really awesome
Hey guys
I live in New Zealand and recently found a Note II N7105 off Trademe (NZ's equivalent to ebay) and received it earlier today only to find it doe s not power on or charge at all. the photos and description show that it was working before it was sent but it is essentially dead. now i know that i should do my research before posting this question and i have to no avail and have realised it is one of two problems:
1. either the phone is totally dead or,
2. it does not charge properly
there is no sign of life and i have tried multiple chargers in multiple power sockets and have left it to charge for a while and still nothing
if anyone can give me some help as to whether i should get a refund or whether its a cheap fix, please please please let me know ASAP as i have been REALLY excited for this phone and would like to solve the problem as soon as possible
thanks to anyone that can help, cheers

If ur phone does not start, nothing can be done. Also I guess it is essentially a hardware problem.
Anyways, (unless u have screwed up the phone by urself)why do u want to fix it urself? Just get the refund or replacement.

Title says it all. Someone is trying to sell me a cheap ($600) Pixel 6 Pro, basically new condition, but it's stuck in demo mode.
Nope
I know this is for Verizon and an older Pixel but have you tried this?
Retail demo mode
I have the Pixel. I woke up this morning to see Retail Demo Mode on the phone that McAfee caught as a threat and I can't remove it. I checked system administrators, I tried to disable it or force stop it and nothing works. Weird that I was just in the store yesterday.

also something here might help

Buy on Swappa or don't bother. That phone could have a bad IMEI or be stolen.

Nope. Haven't searched any more, though. I never got the phone.
