Google Play Music battery drain - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I go to sleep I usually listen to music. Sometimes I even fall asleep with music on.
I had an LG Optimus 4x hd and I did the same thing, but last Saturday I bought this phone and when I played music I had a HUGE battery drain, maybe the phone doesn't go to deep sleep... I started to listen to music at 100% and when I woke up it was at 70%.
I installed wake lock and I got this screenshot:

Can someone help me out here? Or does somebody have this problem too?
I'm on lollipop rooted stock rom. I have all my music in the Google play music "cloud" thing and I download a few playlists to my sdcard.

I have an HTC M8, and I find Google Play music to be a humongous battery drainer, even if the app is just open and I'm not listening to any music at all - it shows me that with the screen off, up to 70% of the battery drain is it's fault.

[Q] My awake time seems awful high, where do I go from here?

I picked up betterbatterstats as my battery life has been crappy over the past few days, I have found the following to be true: I am barely using the phone as I'm at work all day and the battery is draining much faster than before. My screen time is 20 minutes total for the following stats.

I'm not sure if I'm not using BetterBattery correctly but I can't find an option to tell me what offending processes are keeping the phone awake for so long. How do I figure out what is causing this?
Thanks for any help.
Check partial wakelocks in better battery stats.
Turn off your GPS. That is what worked for me. I have 9h 6m 20s on battery and Android OS only has 51m of awake time.
check your apps, if you're not using them, close them. ask yourself, what apps do i have installed that require wakelock permissions. those are the ones who will drive android os through the roof. latitude. maps. email. feeds. even games can trigger sensors and not let go of them properly, leaving your cpu always working. check cpuspy from market.
turn off autosync. you're working right? no point getting distracted over some lame ass post on fb or some worthless spam in your mailbox.
Ok, so now this is weird. I don't have any apps keeping the phone awake for very long, but the wake counts are retarded, take a look at the attachment. The time is very low, but the count is over 2k. The phone is at about a 75% wake time. This really doesn't make any sense.

[Q] Awake Time

Hi, my phone has been periodically waking up as seen in the screenshots below.

I've gone through all of my installed apps and made sure that they arent refreshing, etc. at any frequent period (facebook and android weather were the biggest abusers, but I turned refresh off and to 6hrs respectively). I cant find any other apps that would be waking the device up, but its still being woken up about every 7 min. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I seem to be having the same problem since the jelly bean update At first I though it was the steam app the one awaking the phone, but it doesn´t seem to be the case. Right now I´m blaming Google Now as I see no other suspects, but I´m not really convinced... It looks like it only happens when I have data connection or wifi on. If I disable all data, the problem seems to dissapear.

Ok so I just realized that Tapatalk was set to check for updates every 30 min. I changed that to 12 hrs, but that still doesnt explain the rate of awakes that I was seeing. Could it be google sync? I thought there used to be a place to set the sync interval, but I cant seem to find it in JB...
use better battery stats to look at what's keeping the phone awake

[Q] Battery usage display issue?

Is anyone else having the problem where your phone only shows "Voice Calls" taking 100% of the battery usage after taking a call?
Ive hard reset the phone twice and before i make a call there are many things in the Battery Use fiels like Android system, Screen display, Music, WIFI, etc but after i take a call they all disapear and only "Voice Calls" is listed.
Its not bothering me or anythin gbut i would like to know if anyone else have this issue as i like to track whats using the most power throughout the day.
Can you post a screen shot of your battery usage screen? Hold power button and then press the home button to take a screenshot.

Thank you for confirming, i was about to hard reset my phone again because i thought disabling all the bloatware and installing a few apps that needed root caused my phone to go nuts.
Thank you again.
Edit:
Looks like mine worked it self out. After installing Temple run 2 and gaming for about an hour straight last night i decided to check again before i went to sleep and it fixed itself.

Another battery drain with screen shots

Ready to go back to @??/€..... hate that but im sick of this battery drain randomly
Ive found a few things to be consistent maybe others can chime in.
With google services. Its not always bad. Recently had everything on and no issues. Including gps, Google now, location services etc.
I have found out to last more than a work day. Come home with 45-50%
But today..... Phone just restarted randomly, not the first time either. Usually there is an update for something and the phone restarts to update an app or whatever.
Today, just restart. Then 40 min to 1 hour later. Phone is getting HOT, I look and I had gone from 70% batt to 56 in minutes. Then to 40 then 15 and all the way to 2%
I wanted it to shut down on its own and restart it with a charge but, I had to drive home and car isnt 100% reliable and I didnt have a car charger. So I plugged it into pc to get a few % up.
Google plus went rogue I guess. As you'll see below. But why? And why doesn't @??/€ have this problem?
I just want the phone to last a full day. I dont even use it at work hardly at all with the exception of a bit of tapatalk and facebook......
Screen shots below for help.

Not to state the obvious, but have you considered freezing or uninstalling Google Plus?
Also, check out the link in my signature about keeping Google Services in check.
I forgot to mention that I'm on 4.2 .2 . In addition I didn't do anything to the song, I did not force stop loss, nothing. And everything is back to normal today

rooted g3 fully updated awful battery drain

hello,
so i just unplugged my phone at 98% right before my shower and it drained 7% within the 10 minutes (not even) that i was in the shower. bluetooth was on and the phone was in the shower with me (not literally but in the bathroom with me) as i was listening to music o
via Spotify on a bluetooth speaker.
anyone have any ideas why my battery is draining so heavily? only app that was running was Spotify then settings was the only thing open in the background. brightness was at 48% as it was hard to see it otherwise. data and wifi are on but signal for both is good.

Brother i know what you are feeling. Having data on when you are using wifi still results in drain, turn it off
I have the same problem as well and i dont even listen to any music on mine except the FM radio
LG G3 is the biggest piece of crap ever. Will never buy another LG Smartphone again

i love my g3 but i noticed that i took it into the shower with me today and did the same thing except it was charged to 100% this time and ir stayed at 100% the whole time. my shower wasnt much if any shorter or longer than my last one.
yeah im doing that from now on and now im using the free wakelock indicator to see if it helps at all. if not ill re-download 2x battery saver as i know it works.
