[Reviews] Mokee 50.2 201503201846 by syhost review - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

ive installed this rom and found that there are quite a few bugs in it which are :
1. Proximity sensors turn display off but still tender to function which results in notification panel opening and calendar app popout.
2. Many apps dont seem to work after installation and FC is thrown.
3. Dialer doesnt function all the time and not able to call to people after the OS runs for an hour.
4. NOT ABLE TO RECIEVE CALLS , as the person calling gets a SWITCH Off feedback from operator ( very annoying)
5. Calling is a major bug in this and is not advisable for far travellers
6. Annoying soft reboots when multiple apps are open and you're multitasking with them (3 apps trigger this)
Pros : amazing fresh Ui, lollipop tag and amazing kernel that offers Interactive governor. Rest is pretty much the same.
Conclusion : new build of lollipop 5.0.2 hence the bugs. I would just wait for a few more days or weeks for a better and improvised version comes out
Now switched back to miui v6 6.3.2.0 by syhost and is the most stable and perfect OS for redmi 1s right now.

Please go through other threads before posting a review. Except for the first bug, every other bug u said works flamelessly.
Stop scaring people with wrong info. First learn to flash properly.

I had flashed to rom twice and had downloaded two different times each file, and had confirmed the same with my friend.
The apps that throw FC in my test were BOOM BEACH, BUS SIMULATOR, REAL RACING 3.
No wrong info provided. If you don't get it then you're lucky.

Galnet MIUI Scotland Change Log
You will notice that Galnet MIUI Scotland does not work on modifying the weekly roms to the same degree as that of the Stables. The reason for this is we have more time to check our modifications which we provide within our Stable builds as they are done to our timeframe not Chinas.
It is at our discretion what we include within our builds, we will accept feedback and feature requests, however please beware we might not answer or include them in our Stable Builds if they are found to cause issues. Remember MIUI is customisable to your liking, and many additional add-ons are made available weekly by fans and developers, so please check our forums, as your request may have already been made.

It's MIUI V4 as stated in the Title not Gingerbread MIUI .
WiFi problem!
In the Advanced menu lacks WiFi setting channel selection!
I can not access wireless network on channel 13?
One way is to edit build.prop - like this:
root / system / build.prop (enable read write),
change "ro.product.locale.region = GB" to "ro.product.locale.region = EU" without semi colons.
Add "13" to "ro.wifi.channels =" so it becomes "ro.wifi.channels = 13"
reboot.
binary root can not be frequently updated!
I'm on the 2.3.19 release and it works quite well, but there are two major bugs which seem common amongst Miui V4 releases on the i9000:
Phone numbers with country code included (ie: +44 in the UK) aren't recognised as the same number as stored in contacts without the country code so lots of messages and calls don't show from a known contact, as they were in GB Miui
Major issues with music player with headphones plugged in. I experienced constant reboots and hotboots when playing music with headphones plugged in, I haven't tried without headphones - who wants to listen to music from the loudspeaker? :|
I thought galnet got chucked off here?
Good to see it back, the old Galnet MIUI was cracking at it's peak.

I missed it so much and here it is again, I asked Matthew and he said I can post this.
I'd love to see galnetmiui growing again. Hope they fix the bugs soon. It's worth giving a try
It used to be one of the biggest threads on xda, love to see it again like that.
I'll post all the bugs that are here also on the forum on http://galnetmiui.co.uk.

cm9 AOKP a joke ?

All the effort i see invested in CM9-CM10_AOKP with as mayor problem that all the memory gets consumed so that only few applications can run ????
I ask myself why !!!
Tried out CM9/CM10/OAKP(franklin)) and installed a2sdx and int2ext4+ .... just to be able to get some applications running
Not only is the thing getting horribly slow and very buggy it is in fact completely unusable at this time.
Ex standard applications as Google play are completely failing ....
it is possible to download aps and install them manually but then you can not support it any more.....
These are NOT rom's for daily use. not in a long shot .
its back to good old Piethtz who took pride in finishing stuff untill it was WORKING AND STABLE.
Bugs in AOKP (franklin) just use it it fails and crashes
bugs in CM9 lagging like hell practicably impossible to use the keyboard
and do not tell me not to use a2sd functionality it's simply not worth it for 2 applications/not even for 30 ... then Stock roms are way better.
A long as that memory limitation problem is there android notebooks and phones are dead, not worth investing in not in 2012
If their architecture is such that this is killing the use we should abandon android architecture its mis concieved
this is not the quality of windows
this is not the quality of linux
this is not yet .....
if installing multiple applications use a simple symbolic or direct link is getting in so much trouble the real quality of the whole is not Good
with all respect for the work of ericas and ....
signing off
you should know there isnt an old windows phone or whatever that can run windows 8 via an unofficial way.
ics/jb is not made for our gio's, and so, it wont work as good as you want it to be. if you want that, buy a galaxy s3. they even give you a better screen and processor.
so stfu and live with it or get rich and buy high end smartphones.
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
Did you try link2sd?
By the way I've just installed this rom, and I think it's the first usable Android 4 for Gio.
Camera and camcorder working finally, everything's running stable and smooth (yet).
The only thing I haven't experienced yet is battery life. If it can take 1.5-2 days with average usage, it will pass my high standards that no other non-stock based rom have passed yet.
Oh, and after installing some basic apps(Skype, Maps, GMail, TC, etc...), I still have 108MB free on internal mem.
So no, it's not a joke, it's the best ROM out currently for Gio (a smooth camcorder like the TW Camera in stock would be good, but this is just a minor negative point if you take the features that ICS gives into consideration).
I say this after trying about 30 different ROM's in the past half year...
I'm sorry to ask you this: did you pay for his work? which makes you right for komplain about it?
installed a2sdx and int2ext4+ .... just to be able to get some applications running
this is your problem
two scripts that do the same thing
chose only one of them (i recomment cronmod int2ext+ if you want that kind of script, i use link2sd and link only the games)
and in developer settings choose force gpu rendering(for better battery aver all) and smartassv2 or interactive
Some bugs
Can someone please post this in the dev thread? I don't have 10 posts yet...
So far I've found these four bugs:
-(MINOR) Ringtones play only once if there's no ANDROID_LOOP=true OGG metatag in the sound file. By the metatag it seems rather a feature than a bug, but in 2.3.x roms it was not needed, and it can really troll new rom users. Please fix if possible, or write instructions (convert file to ogg and set the metatag, that's all but it needed me a lot of googling to find it)
-(MAJOR) Init.d settings (at rom settings) cause heavy load, and settings won't stay (su permission request accepted of course). It can't be enabled at all because of this.
-(MAJOR) Google Talk from gapps-ics-20120429 FC with "Need GTalk_SERVICE permission".
Tried first by just installing talk.apk (extracted from gapps) as system app, then by flashing the whole gapps zip, then with full wipe, rom reflash and flashing gapps immediately after rom flash, but no luck. Tried CWM fix permission too (no effect), but couldn't try rom init.d feature fix permissions due to the previous bug.
-(CRITICAL) If I go outside the signal area of a WIFI AP (without turning off wifi) and there's no other available connection (I don't have mobile net atm), the whole system crashes when an application tries to initiate a connection.
No response to:
-Touch
-Back softkey long set to kill
-Pwr hardkey, home hardkey
Only removing battery helps, however my live wp (phase beam, the one that's integrated in the rom) moves until that.
It happened two times:
-Wifi dropped due to signal loss, unlock phone, push browser icon, browser icon glows, crash
-Wifi dropped due to signal loss, unlock phone, open wifi settings (with wifi powerswitch longpress), select another ap to connect to, start to enter wpa passphrase, crash after typing 4 chars (some process in the background may have tried to initiate a connection meanwhile)
If you can't reproduce tell me and I'll try in USB Debug to get a logcat dump.
I still say this is the best ICS/JB rom out for Gio, but if you can fix these it'll be completely perfect

installing multiple a2ad.. methods one after the other gives similar errors that disappear when not installed. Up to no one published this serious memory handling BUG in the center of ics cm9/scm10/aokp biggest problem area.
problems in the center area need to be solved if people want to believe in any future for the Rom.
why invest time in any os if people are not assured the main problem lack of memory handling poses a risk of complete failure
that is the reason for the"is this a joke?"
the hard work of the developers is NOT assured questioned nor diminished
I refered to linux and windows as basic fundamental robustness as a base.
individual apps anoi one person.failure into the core make everything fail

you have crash on my rom? R u kidding me ? R u using any tweak? I use that for gaming/internet and music at same time and no crash, try reflashing rom, also cm is bigger than aokp, that's why cm9/cm10 are laggier, but with aokp jb or ics rom isnt crashing

In my opinion I find your AOKP to be the most efficient and stable ROM I have installed on my phone so far. The battery so far has lasted up to 2 days while I have been receiving calls and playing games and its only at 66%! I am loving your ROM. No crashes so far. Thanks for all your (and erikcas, jellaxy's) hard work.

No tweak. Some apps uninstalled from system (trebuchet, live wp's), and link2sd that's all. With link2sd Google Maps is on SD, maybe it's background service doesn't like it, apart from it there's nothing wrong I could've done.
CPU settings: clocks at stock, governor is SAv2.
About 1 crash / day. Newer crashes seemed unrelated to wifi signal drop.

[Q] How stable and reliable are the Android 4.4 ROMs?

At the moment there is no stable and reliable Android 4.4 ROM yet, but I hope this will soon change.
Perhaps we can compare the different ROMs here. Please note that I am not asking for best performance or lowest RAM requirement. These are secondary issues. The most critical issue is reliability.
The Google ROMs have always been the most stable and reliable. They were never perfect, but at least we could expect them to run for a week or longer without any significant error and without rebooting. In my experience, other ROMs, like the admirable CyanogenMod, came close, but never quite reached that same level of reliability. Given that the CyanogenMod crew works for free and in their free time, the quality they delivered has been astounding and admirable.
Nonetheless, reliability remains the biggest issue among the third-party ROMs.
So, if you install any of the Android 4.4 ROMs on your Galaxy Nexus, please report what you find. Please try to judge whether that ROM can be recommended for general use or whether the newbies had better stand back and wait for the next version.
Another question is: How user-friendly is the install procedure? Can you keep your apps and app data?
It is very unfortunate that the gnex community is not supported anymore due to 'hardware issues' or the 18 month timeframe. It is true that the ROMs made these days are not so 'reliable' and they may be buggy and cause force closes on certain applications. The new roms may never support cleanly and as stable as stock factory images by Google but its all the Gnex community can rely on from now. Personally, I feel the slimkat 4.4 ROM is acceptable considering it is only about less than a week old. They have been fixing bugs such as GPS tracking and such. I will be using it as my daily driver from now and just hope that the developers can make it as stable as the stock android ROM.

a taste of kitkat perfect aosp leaked rom
i''ve installed yesterday a taste of kitkat with mpokang 1080p kernel.. some glitches when rotate screen but only one reboot using google now (i don't use gnow so it's not a problem for me) and i've a crash only on fifa14... battery good performance, no lags, no problems, trickstermod overclock to 1.4ghz no problems, facebook, whatsapp, viber, tango, hangout, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS alla working without problems.. and now i'm testing battery..
Toro Plus
For us sprint (or Ting) users the 4.4 ROMs are not even installable. There have been two threads started and each one was locked after it became apparent that the developers did not have booting builds. I appreciate all the work devs do, but this keeps getting my hopes up. Hopefully, someone will get one working soon and we won't have any more false starts.
They are just alpha builds, experimental builds. Most of them have some glitches. They are not for daily use.
If you do not have necessary knowledge and do not have time to report bug, then I suggest you should back out on those alpha builds.
They're not even a week old. Give time and reap miracles afterwards
Sent from Samsung Galaxy Nexus @ CM10.2
It's a Nexus device. Things will improve over time.
I've been running the most recent SlimKat alpha build and it's been pretty solid. Phone feels rejuvenated. It is my work phone and worked flawlessly all day. The only restarts were Hangouts last night and when I was fiddling around with wallpaper settings after work, and forgivable graphics glitch during screen rotation. Otherwise, it has has felt like a new-ish phone today.
Thanks for the good information!
I think, when the builds go from alpha to beta and there are no obvious glitches any more, then would be the time to do some more thorough testing, particularly:
GPS, including track recording with My Tracks, Locus, or a similar app
Cameras with all their functions
Compass, gravity, and other sensors
Tethering via USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
Radio functions, particularly LTE and the general behavior with a weak or frequently interrupted signal
OTG with USB mass storage device, keyboard, etc.
I would recommend to report all defects not only here, but also to the maker of the ROM.
For now, they are pretty unstable, but I would keep an eye out for linaro's builds as well:
http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/11/06/android-4-4-kitkat-on-galaxy-nexus-rom-linaro-and-petition/
idk what you're talking about OP. i've run these custom roms more tha n week and they've been good. only reason the counter will reset is because I flash a new rom or flash an update or a mod.
These ROMs are very stable.
4.4 ROMs. give it some time. it's amazing that in less than 24 hours after the release of 4.4, we got a semi daily usable ROM from people that don't even work for Google.
I've been on SlimKat for a couple hours now. Clearly a ton of the SlimRom features are missing but considering that its an Alpha its not that bad.
Other than some graphical glitches here and there, which are very rare actually, there arent any other instabilities that I can see. Everything works fine. I dont know who is starting this rumor about 4.4 being unstable. Some ROMs may work better than others but thats due to different developers working at different paces. Bottom line is, 4.4 is perfectly fine for a daily driver. It just needs some ironing out.
Yeah, I'm running the SlimKat ROM, and its beautiful
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus running the Forbidden Update using xda app-developers app
Running Shiny 4.4. Good taste of KitKat. Sounds crazy, but I'm using it to test stuff out before it goes on the N5.
Biggest glitch seems to be with graphics, in that overlays of menus and random black boxes over some text in gmail and Chrome, make things unreadable and useless. Not to mention the random reboots when you can tell something happened that the GNex doesn't like.
IMO, they are not ready for use on a primary device. As in, at the end of the day, when I'm home, I pop my simcard out of my MotoX and out it in my GNex/3.4 to tinker. No maps to crash at the wrong time, I have other devices at the low-ready to surf on and more time to tinker. My gf loves me for this routine I've made for myself
Definitely a good taste of KitKat. Considering today would mark 1 week since release, on an unsupported device - its actually pretty stable.
LCD Density
I'm on SlimKat and my old eyes can't deal w/ the tiny text - even when changing default system font to HUGE in the display settings. build.prop has a value of 240 but I can't edit in ES Explorer even though the file props say it's writable. CM12.1 source code for LeEco Le 1 Pro? By: s0be

I was told that these where the source code of CM12.1. I'll share it with you:

https://github.com/s0be/android_vendor_letv_x1na
https://github.com/s0be/android_kernel_letv_msm8994
I don't know any news of kernel source code release by LeEco.
Let's see if, with subforum on XDA-Developers we have more ROMs coming up, hope so.
From a Chinese bbs
There has been indeed something going on since November on this front

It seems like there is still a bug at the camera level. Hopefully something will be released soon, also with instructions in English.

Amazing ROM the one posted right above, I suggest it to all of those who are missing the Cyanogen/Slim.
I will use it as daily driver even if the EUI6 will come out (i guess it will still be better than EUI)
PROS:
1. Cyanogen
2. Really smooth
3. Good battery
4. Good GPS (fastest seen to me)
CONS:
1. Black screen from time to time when closing an activity (nothing major)
2. Wifi is terribad imho --> i'll try WCNSS fix
3. Sometimes i need to double press the power up button to turn on the screen
4. d2tw is not working, d2ts is but only in the status bar (hw home button can be enabled as well)
5. AudioFX crash (intentional?)
6. Dolby Atmos how do you use it??!?
7. There is an app to let the flash blink when a notification is received, personally i dont like it. Green/Yellow/Red led is not working (any workaround?)
Suggestions:
Use root explorer to remove chinese apps (baidu, sugoisearch), i didnt uninstall collapseromer app though. Before doing so install google keyboard.
Default APN may be the wrong one, hence no connectivity.
hi man,

Newbie , what's the perfect rom for Untouched Le 1 Pro x800 US version

Hey Folks , I've ordered a Letv le 1 pro x800 us smartphone from an aliexpress reseller I was impressed by the hardware of this price range phone and also I've watched a lot of positive vids on youtube and Antutu Benchmarking.
I'm expecting the phone to arrive in one week approximately , but I'm surprised by many users negative reviews about the ROM that came of out the box.
The bloatware , malware ads , app crashing Browser , Youtube no OTA updates and other problems .I've read many topics and see many custom roms but unfortunately these ROMs delete the malware but disable many functions IR BLASTER , double tap to wake ...etc
Please I'm wondering which is the best rom to flash my phone in order to make it work well without loss of performance or functions missing or battery drains ??!
I've heard that the US version is not supported by the manufacturer team support , unlike the CN version which the recent update runs on Marshmallow OS
So please Can you help me flash my Le 1 pro with the perfect ROM by giving me the Right ROM and the method to flash it.
Hi, Im using a Letv Le 1 Pro, Phone itself is phenomenal. Screen kinda sucks but something i can live with for this range of price.
About malware, I successfully removed every malware from phone in this method.

Download the update.zip from this post. Put it in your fone, Restart to Recovery and install update.zip. thats all, all your personel data will be untouched. You'll get the phone cleaned off malwares and some new apps like Yahoo Weather will be installed.
I didnt try installing custom ROMs becuase I tried doing it on the other Le 1 pro i had and ended up killing the phone. tho you can try those as well.
Good Luck and hope you have a good experience
Edit: Forgot to mention that Youtube app works perfect in the updated ROM, GPS works more accurately as well (for me atleast )
stock Rom

Thanks my friend , so the clean stock rom has only gps accuracy problem , what about IR blaster is it working also the double tape to wake, free Ram available , performance, camera , wifi data connection , battery endurance ??
GPS works okay. Takes some time to lock on. There is no double tap feature, Free ram, i have lots of apps around and mostly have over a gb of free ram. Your new fone will have over 2.4 gb free ram with pre installed apps. Performance is great, Camera is pretty decent especially the front cam. I have wifi problem in my phone, only works fluid with bluetooth switched on, on the other one its works fine. Battery is not as good as i expected but its OK... Im happy with over all performance of the phone...
