What is Touch Wiz and why is it a heavy burden on my new Tab S battery?
What will happen if I understand install it?
Touchwiz is on stock samsung roms. Its a skin that samsung puts on their devices. You cant install it. The only way to remove touchwiz is to install an asop rom. Battery life is fine on touchwiz for me.
Is this normal?

Yes! You can change your homescreen launcher. It looks like the toucchwiz launcher is drainingyour battery a bit. Id suggest you use nova launcher
The second day I had my tablet, I saw the same sort of battery profile. On subsequent days, everything was fine. When I saw the drain, I immediately tried Nova, which I used for years on other devices, but it didn't look right to me on the S8.4. I went back to the stock TouchWiz launcher, adjusted the UX thing on the far left window to be minimal (calendar only) and battery life has been fine since.
Good luck and give it a few days to settle before getting too worried.

Hi there...
this could be seem dull and futile post, but new launcher pro introduces themes support and since it's best launcher around to me and not just to me,what about start creatin' brand-new themes or just portin' same old ones(like buuf) on launcher pro?
From what I can see on the LP official site, the support is for LPWidgets only ?
This is relevant to my interests, and this is the right place to post this.
Maybe you can include that it has also better scrolling and reduced memory usage. Ive been trying it and so far so good! still my fav launcher

Yes that is correct, BUT some people have already messed around with launcherpro so far, and it will be even easier now. Dev is also pretty nice guy, maybe he will include some customs in the future *keeping my fingers crossed*
from where i can find the skins for lp widget like gmail/face books/people
You can get LP themes in the Market. Only for Pro version. Download from market, go to LP preferences, LP widget settings and select theme.

I just want a rom that does 3 things.
1. Removes all bloatware
2. Speed up my phone (almost all my applications lag badly all the time)
3. Improves battery life.
Also I have over 80 apps installed and arranged in just the way I like it. I spent like 2 hours arranging the apps Is there any way to save them and their positions when I get a ROM. I am coming straight form the stock firmware and not a different rom.
Also I really love the way my home screen looks. Will I be able to replicate this exact home screen on the rom? I have attached an image of my home screen. It's nothing fancy just apps and widgets and a live wall paper.

Install Root 66 via ODIN and remove the bloat you don't want. I only responded cause of the music you listen to.
Honestly all touchwiz rom listed in the developed forum will do. Ifnunwant to remove more bloatware use one of the bloatremovals...

Still haven't made my mind about taking the plunge and grabbing the G3
Did anyone try the Next Launcher 3D on their G3? impressions? snappiness? ram? battery?
Did try it myself on my current htc One XL with AOSP rom and no issues at all, think it would be a great launcher on G3 but didn't find any mention of it here!

I am on Next Launcher and have had no issues. I switched my animations to .5 in developer options and haven't looked back.

Is it snappier than stock launcher with no stutter or lag? not just the feel due to faster animations!

I think it's snappier. I enjoy all that Next Launcher has. I bet Nova or Apex is even snappier.
Running next 3D with LG optimus g pro, and it comfirms my theory that Next 3D is meant for the quad corded devices.
My gpad the wifi version running Android 4.4.2 got problem in retaining battery. It drains about 4 to 5 percents of the battery when the pad is in idle for about 10 hours. The pad is new so i don't think is the app i downloaded that is causing the problems. It must be something have to do with the manufacturer. Are you folks having the same problems? May be i need to flush it and reload the android to get away the apps installed by the manufacturer. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sound better than average to me (I've had quite a few tablets&phones ... but only have this GTab for 2 days).
that is actually quite good, mine use to lose 10+%.got it to only lose about 2-3% by using clean master.just kill everything when i go sleep.give it a go.
Thanks will give it a try. There are just too much possibilities here. Need an expert to figure it out.
Download App Ops Starter from playstore. Look for apps that keep your tablet from going to sleep and turn off that setting. Also you can turn off their ability to spy on you.

Hey*XDA, first time posting, long time follower here. I followed the*tutorial*from @hsbadr*to get CyanogenMod 13 on my Verizon Note 4(here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=3253973), and it is working flawlessly! But having been on CM13 for a little over a couple months, I am beginning to miss my S-Pen*functionality. I've been doing some research, and can't seem to find a solid working example of getting the S-Pen to function (not expecting 100% functionality, of course). From what I could gather, the S-Pen's functionality is tied in with Touchwiz, but I didn't know if there any ports from the stock ROM that runs independently of Touchwiz.*
Similarly, I've been missing the amazing functionality of the stock camera app back when I was running 5.1.1, but again I understand (or at least I believe so) that the camera app actually depends on Touchwiz. I've been using Open Camera for a while, but seriously miss the built in functionality that the stock app provided. Have there been any developments or workarounds for this? I realize there's more than likely little to nothing that can be done while running CM13, but I figured I'd ask! Also, for those curious, I've provided a screen shot of my system information. Thank you!
