Aside from those 2 things, what else is missing from WP7? And what in your opinion should be put in future updates? And do you think those things you want will make it?
Finally what do you think of WP7 as a whole compared to Android and iOS? (specifically Android since thats what I know the most)
Thanks in Advance.
Tethering, and using the phone as a Mass Storage device are also missing, a file explorer...even if its just to manage files we download from the web or something, and tethering was somewhat confirmed by microsoft but i dont know the likelihood of mass storage id like it to come in the future but who knows...
yeah I want the mass storage so badly
of course we can make it with some changes in Registry but I think WP7 should make it enable in the next update
Sync multiple but not only the main calendar of an account
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Tethering works on my wife's Focus & on my LG Quantum, but you need to unlock it yourself using the phone manufacturer's diagnostics menus.
But what I'm really missing is the ability to do real socket programming, so you could do stuff like rdp, true streaming media players, etc...
"living in the cloud" is flawed when you can't use socket programming for true network access ( what the "cloud" is all about )
Probably more exchange features.
OPEN API.......... you should see the different in between android and wp7 barcode or QR scanning.... wait for one year else will change to android....

IMO:
- Zune easy sync of all supported files: adding all the office files
- Bluetooth send/receive at least for supported files
- Email - ability to add WHATEVER I want to attachement, so also docs, videos etc. IfI want to send 3 docs I have to send 3 emails, this is ridiculous
- App for easy download/upload with SkyDrive lol, like Photobucket
- Internet tethering
- Copy and paste absolutely system wide!
- Universal device search
- Navi arrows on keyboard
- Absolutely more features in Word, which is nice to have but is ridiculously limited to a crazy level.

This has to be one of the best 'wish' lists I've seen on here, it wasn't filled with idiocy, hate, or pure ignorance and definitely reflected the direction Microsoft is trying to take, I applaud you for that... Especially with the "supported files" addition... One of the few posts that doesn't revolve around "I can't access any file, registry edit, or system entry to screw up my device so this sucks!"...
I agree with this list, I'd also add more integration features into the People Hub

Adding to this excellent wish list
- Custom Ringtones
- A smart dialer (Like Dialer one from Android)
- GPS navigation
- Threaded email messaging
duplicate post
how do i delete this?
universal clipboard
file explorer, with cut, copy, paste of files (is this enabled on the touchexplorer?)
smart dial
ability to DISABLE threaded sms
usb storage mode
full outlook support
1 very important function for me....
ability to import sms messages from wm6.5
- multiplayer games (local and online)
- cross platform games
- custom alert tones
- hidden SSID access
Copy and paste text.
Preview of back button stack.
Socekts.
Battery api.
Camera – movie api.
Silverlight integration with XNA.
Exposed MAC address of WIFI.
Tile tap and hold option to unintall the app.
+1 for most of the items listed prior, but would like to add:
- option to increase fonts especially text messaging.
- option to get rid of the "bubble/msg boxes" in text msg app; e.g., black background with cyan and white text
- text reflow when zooming in on web-browser and email (vs. scrolling left<->right to read text)
- phone button that takes me directly to dialer ( i know, i'm probably dreaming)
- option to tap and dial or email contact from within txt msg app and email apps (similar to Android)
- integrated inbox (with threaded messaging)
- navigation app (similar to google navigation or co-pilot)
A quick way to close all running applications.
Perhaps by holding down the back arrow for an extended period of time will bring up a notification asking you to close all the apps.
Or what if, you where to hold down back arrow as before but the notification allowed you to see all running apps and close them individually or all at once?
Possible?
I have attached some images of what it could look like.
Other ideas.
Side ways view using the accelerometers on the home screen. (2 versions attached)
Zune controls on the home screen that follow you down as you scroll. This would also be there on the app menu to the right. (attached)
One that i have just realized.
I dont think you can send music files over bluetooth.
This would be a nice addition.
...but may be to do with copyright as usual. =/
The apk was taken straight from the Nexus 5, and has the search feature actually working! (confirmed)

FAQ from the website
I installed the app but the icon doesn't show up in my app tray. What can I do?
If this happens on your phone, the only solution we found was to use Nova Launcher because it has a feature that allows you to run a specific activity within an app. To set this up:
Within Nova Launcher, long-press on the home screen.Choose "Shortcuts"Select "Activities"Find "Google Dialer" in the list, then tap to open it up, and select "Phone" (use the first one in the list)
This will put a shortcut to the dialer on your home screen. At this stage, you can use this to access Google Dialer. It's not the cleanest solution, but it does work.
Can I disable my default dialer?
The short answer is no. As a general rule, you will need to keep your present dialer enabled in order to receive calls. The long answer is that on some phones you might be able to disable your stock dialer, but on others you definitely cannot. Feel free to try it on your own device and let us know what your results are.
(I disabled the first phone apk of the 2 that show up (flashing adds another one and I had it A-Z order))
EDIT: After disabling the APK, when I select "Call" the phone doesn't show any call screen whatsoever, and still has a call going, (mic works, and you can call, but the only way you can hang up is to leave the app and click the extended notification)
Again, this is all them!
Sorry this is no longer valid. Please delete.
Nick's Blacklist blocks all Contacts added to a group named "Phone Blacklist Group" (without the quotes). Please first create that group and add the contacts you wish to block.
This app was created for personal use of blacklisting certain numbers, spam and nuisance calls.
It's not a feature rich app.
- No fancy interface
- No logs of blocked calls (you can see the rejected calls in your phone's call logs)
- No SMS blocking
- No ads!
The idea behind blocking a Contacts Group instead of a list of numbers entered in the app by the user is that Contacts and Groups are synced in the users Google account. So in theory is never lost even if the app crashes or uninstalled.
Usage:
1. Create in your contacts a group named: "Phone Blacklist Group" (without the quotes)
2. Add in that group Contacts that you want to block (i.e. create a Contact called SPAM and add all the numbers you want to it).
3. Run Nick's Blacklist and select if you also want to block hidden numbers in incoming calls.
** WARNING
** PLEASE exclude this app from RAM cleaner apps and for Android 6+ please add it to the "Not Optimized" list in your battery settings.

WhatsApp Web works on my HP ELITE X3 running latest w10m using Monument Browser.... syncs with WhatsApp running on another phone via Bluetooth (wife’s iPhone X in my case!)... mirrors content and most functionality.
Not tidy, best in landscape So, could run your own WhatsApp on a Android or iOS device and access it on w10m as long as the phones are Bluetooth linked.
Open w10m phone’s Monument browser.
Hit 3 dots to open Monument browser controls
Adjust ZOOM; @65% (may need to tinker depending on screen real estate of other phones).
Change SETTINGS:
NAVIGATION MODE; CHROME.
JAVASCRIPT; ENABLED.
Open new Monument browser tab.
Navigate to web.whatsapp.com and scannable barcode appears.
Tick KEEP ME SIGNED IN
Open Whatsapp on other phone.
Hit 3 dots to open Whatsapp controls.
Select WHATSAPP WEB.
Hit + PLUS button to open barcode scanner
Point barcode scanner at the WhatsApp barcode.
Barcode should be accepted and a progress bar appears. GIVE IT TIME!
Whatsapp messages will appear on Monument browser if all has gone well, and you can send and receive, but notifications not working.
**PIN working Monument Whatsapp web window to Home screen for easy access**
If progress bar seems to have stalled check Whatsapp – Whatsapp web on the phone to confirm connection has been made. If it has, PIN browser window to home screen as above. Close all tabs. Restart phone. Click pinned window and hopefully that will work after page load delay - which seems inescapable.
PS clicking enable desktop notifications doesn’t seem to do anything (perhaps unsurprisingly).
Hope this helps someone ?

I did the same steps that you described, but I still have a problem apart from notifications: I can't view images, they remain with a circular spinning without possibility to download, I only view the low level preview of the image...did I miss something in the configuration ? Thanks
If still the same after restart of both devices (try that!) maybe it's a quirk of your particular phone? Fine for me.
Having said that, I've found having to carry two devices just to use Whatsapp is a burden [duh!] and I've installed Unigram (which is a Telegram client) and turns out to be better than Whatsapp. As a bonus, half my contacts were on it already and those I wanted to stay in touch with a la Whatsapp happily installed it. Available on w10m (but will not be updated further) and desktop

Hi guys, I found out that in several apps that do not have support they have the possibility to work, you just have to install an old version app, I work with the instagram app, but the only bad thing is that it does not let me send messages but yes I can receive notifications, I am trying to find the old apps like instagram and trying to revive them, PD: the facebook messenger app does not work, but the facebook app I am trying to install old versions to see if it works, the bad thing is that it is very difficult to find the xap
This is a topic about OnePlus 11/OxygenOS 13.1 and how it compares to the last real OxygenOS 11:
FR: There's no option to access app info/properties (Open, Force Stop, Uninstall, etc.) from the overview screen
FR: App properties is missing the installation source information and an option to open Google Play (if it's a Google Play app)
Bug: no option to change the accent color (need to install the LWP+ app - I had to Google for it)
Bug: Date/time widget is completely broken (it's extremely small, it doesn't expand to its space, it hides the day of the week) when Display Size is set to "small"
Bug: Transparent icons must not have a white round background
Bug: Icons don't expand in the groups (folders) of apps, i.e. they are extremely small
Bug/FR: No separate time outs for screen lock and display turn off
Bug/FR: Eye comfort should be able to use the current location to work from the sunset to the sunrise
Bug/FR: Digital pin code lock accepts exactly six digits. It must be possible to use as many as desired. In OnePlus 6 I had a 11 digit password. It's there under a new option.
Bug/FR: screenshots are saved as JPEG files. People have been asking for PNGs for over 7 years now.
Bug/FR: The notification area is extremely sparse, icons are too big, the first two ones are large rounded rectangles for no reasons.
FR: configurable action the long press/touch for the apps overview button.
Bug: very few FPS options for slow motion videos in the camera app. It's either [email protected] or [email protected] There's nothing else. There's nothing in between. Where's 1080p at 120fps? Where's 720p at 120, 240, 360fps? Also, the phone can shoot 8K at 30fps, that means it's absolutely capable of 4K at 120fps, 1080p at 480fps and 720p at 960fps and that's what other Snapdragon 2 Gen 2 based phones offer.
Bug: if you swipe up over widgets on the home screen, the app drawer won't show. Swiping down to show notifications strangely works.
Dark mode for third-party apps (Beta) doesn't list a single app, so dark mode settings cannot be enforced.
Added on May 5, 2023:
Long pressing the app widget doesn't show the normal app menu popup containing items such as "App Info" and "Share". You only get "Remove".
Quick Device Connect asks for permissions on every boot despite saying "Exit" which implies it never does that again. It still does. The app cannot be disabled except using adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.heytap.accessory
App management lists two Google Assistant apps
There's a Chinese localization string in the DND dialog called from the notification icon. Fixed in A.10.
Added on May 6, 2023:
The App Drawer has an incorrect sorting mode. Applications starting with digits or special symbols such as # are listed at the bottom while they must be at the top, e.g. "17 Track". Another case: consider TED and "Terminal Emulator". OOS13 will first list "Terminal emulator" then TED.
The App Drawer should be able to find apps when you don't type their exact symbols. E.g. in OxygenOS 11 you could type "FD" and it will show "F-Droid". OxygenOS 13/ColorOS 13 will not find this app.
DND in OxygenOS 11 could be set for 15, 30, 45 minutes 1, 2, 3, 4 ... 10, 11, 12 hours and until the alarm clock. In OOS13 you only have three options 1, 4 and 8 hours.
Saved Wi-Fi networks dialog doesn't show whether a particular network is Open or Password protected. OOS11 simply showed for password protected networks.
Added on May 8, 2023:
What's up with Apps "Auto Launch" 20 items? Why just 20? I have four banking apps, two apps for my cellular operators, a number of IMs (Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, Google Meet), e-shopping apps, two battery monitoring apps, two fitness apps, two backup apps, three email apps (Gmail, K-9 Mail, Proton) - I've already used up my 20 apps limit :-( This one is a deal breaker. If you want this feature it must be via a blacklist, not whitelist.
Fly Mode does not disable BlueTooth.
After reboot the phone does not [try to] reconnect to remembered BlueTooth devices.
When the phone is being charged, notifications don't show/light up the screen.
Aside from the JPEG screenshots issue, everything on the list worked and existed in OxygenOS 11.
And I don't even want to talk about a myriad of other minor bugs, and Chinese (!) language strings in the international version of the phone. This list is a result of using the phone for just 24 hours. I expect to uncover a lot more. At least I've not had crashes it which indicates we're dealing with a late beta software release which is still inexcusable for such a company.
Does anyone know how I can contact the OnePlus/Oxygen development team directly? No, I don't want to use their bug tracker - absolute most bugs over there never get any attention.
Over there on OnePlus forums people questioned the dark mode enforcement feature saying "it should work only for selected apps".
No, it's not like that. OOS11 listed all the installed UI apps and allowed to enforce dark mode for any of them regardless.

I had this experience several years ago - no, thanks.
The only way for a bug report to be noticed is when at least two dozen people start complaining about it (and even that is not a guarantee it will be dealt with).
BTW bug reports/feature requests can now be made only via the OnePlus Community app and for some reasons when I click "Add Feedback" I only get an option of exactly that, leaving feedback. No bug reports/feature requests for my account. Probably the app is broken, I don't know. In the past you could do that via your PC web browser. Looks like the company doesn't want any of that any more.
