[Q] Problem with memory space - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Why i dont have almost nothig of free space on my internal memory? i installed custom rom and wiped everything with twrp recovery but i still dont have any space left.. how to resolve this?

Try Wipe data, System, cache, dalvik, and reinstall phone
Edit: Oh sorry you already done this, i don't know

Boot into twrp...go to wipe then fix or change filesystem of internal storage..check what format internal storage is in..if it is in vfat change it to ext4..! this should solve your problem..
PS :VERY IMPORTANT: you will lose all data on internal storage! i am not responsible for loss of data or bricked phone !

I was facing the same problem . By Factory Data Reset from the settings of Redmi 1s i succeeded in reclaiming 2.3 GB of internal storage.. In the process of reset all personal data, apps and even google apps are gone .. but i restored from the backup i have created before hand

ClockWorkMod Options . . .

Can some one pleas explain me what exactly these options do ?
- wipe data/ factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- nandroid
Thanks !
Exactly what they say they do.. Nandroid backs up and restores your data/system/ext partitions
Does the wipe data delete everything on SD card and what about the space on the intern memory ??
Music, settings, photos, apps ? Everything gets wiped . . . ?
and what is saved in "partition cache", why would i want to wipe it ?
Why would i want to backup my partitions table ?

factory reset deletes all data on ur fone and restores it to its factory settings (this does nothing to ur sd card)
the cache holds program install data and other temp data
nandroid is a way to back up and restore your ext partition data
removed - posted in wrong section.
Factory reset also wipes the sd-ext partition if you have it.

Before restoring wipe system, data, cache and dalvik. Also move all files on internal storage to sdcard or somewhere else. Then wipe internal storage too. Then restore backup and move those files back to internal storage.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I format internal storage, do I need to move files from internal storage to ext sd card? The backup is on ext sd card.

Before restoring nandroid backup.... I recommend you to move all stuff u have on internal storage to your pc or ext sd card. Then format system, data , cache , dalvik and internal storage. Then restore backup. After it is done move that stuff back onto ur internal storage. Formatting internal storage is not needed everytime.
U just do it this time.

I did an advanced wipe, system, data, cache and dalvik and it never worked properly. This time I included internal storage when wiping and that fixed the restore problem. Thanks for the help.

Help lg d855 0mb internal storage and can't mount data

Hello. Yesterday my phone would not open so I tried to start it in recovery mode and try to factory reset. But it didn't let me to do a factory reset and said unable to mount /data and /cache and storage etc. etc.. So I looked at the install tab and saw that internal storage 0mb. Then after a few restarts I was able to wipe data thinking it would help but nothing happened. Can you help? SOrry for bad english.
I had same problem goto recovery Wipe and chose format data
then reboot back to recovery hola that's it
Caution : you will lose all your data by data I mean entire internal storage will be wiped out

resize partition?

i apologize if these seems like stupid idea, but I come from having a Samsung S4 (sgh-i337) and would save my data to the SD card and wipe all of the internal memory when clean flashing new roms.
is there a way to do that for the 128gb storage space, to save 10-15gb for backups, roms, etc? assuming in TWRP
I got my 5T on Tuesday and already have installed TWRP and rooted my device
I just didnt want to configure it too much if i have to wipe it all to resize partitions
thanks for the feedback
No, u cannot save space on the internal memory that will not be touched. You do not have to wipe your internal memory though when flashing new ROMs. That is completely separate from the flashing process. When flashing you wipe cache, dalvik, boot, system, and data, not storage or internal memory. Flash the ROM, boot up, and everything on your internal storage will be present. Also, this should go in the questions and answers thread.
