[Q] Help need [TWRP] - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Earlier today I rooted my LG G3 [VS985] But prior to the root, since verizon has yet to give us the lollipop update, I figured I would update early, I followed jhnom96's guide on youtube ; I rooted with Zedomax's tutorial for lollipop ; After many failed attempts to install TWRP bump for the lg g3 vs985 with flashify and es explorer, I followed all the directions from this guide: a guide by zedomax on how to flash twrp; in which when the device was restarting , I was prompted with this message in the corner of the screen: secure booting error cause boot certification verify lg g3 ; I'm pretty sure it had something to do with me updating to android 5.0.1 early on verizon, but I was wondering there was a solution.
Thanks!
(Sorry, i would post the youtube links but the site won't let me since this is within my first 10 posts, so you'll sadly have to look up each video specifically.)

TWRP hasnt been updated to support Lollipop yet

Well if someone can find a solution somehow, that'd be great.

LG G3 Endless Bootloop Logo->Firmware Update->Restart

Hey guys,
I really hope someone will be able to help me out.
I will try and provide as much information as possible.
I own an D855 bought from Germany. The phone originally came with the stock rom 4.4 I believe. I had rooted the phone using purple drake. few days ago I update the phone to 5.0 Lollipop, the official version rolled out by LG.
I lost the root after update and didn't re-root. Today during work my phone had gone into a boot loop (Logo->restart->logo-Restart). I though "okay that's fine , when I get home I'll look into the unbrick methods and fix this easily" Wrong.
I tried using the instructions provided by the user zedomax on youtu "How to Unroot/Unbrick LG G3!"
Downloaded all the drivers and the LG g3 Flash tool. Also downloaded a European stock rom. I got to around the 6:35 mark on the video, removed the cable and replugged it. Then the phone just shutdown and started a boot loop again. The boot loop had now changed to Logo->Firmware update page->restart->logo->firmware update page->restart.
Now I can't put the phone into firmware update mode anymore and I am really scared the phone is hard bricked. What is the next thing I can try?
I am offering a 60€ bounty to whoever has a fix for this.
I can also try taking a video of the boot loop if that would be of any help.
If I would try and RMA the phone, does anyone know would there be any sign of rooting. I had previously had the phone rooted on the official 4.4 build (using purple drake) and then I updated to 5.0, but didn't root.

[Q] Downgrade from 23C to 10C?

I have a newly purchased verizon LG G3 that updated to 23C on its own. I have already rooted the device following a howto on lgg3 subreddit but in order to install Cyanogenmod the Cyanogenmod wiki says the phone needs to be 12B or lower. I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799647 which says I can restore the phone back to 10C (it doesnt say 10C in the gudie but the user who posted on reddit said it) but I need the LG G3 files and I do not know where to get them. Any advice/recommendations how to get this? Is it possible I can perform a full backup incase something goes wrong I can restore the phone (its rooted already)?

Invalid Software Package & Rooting questions

Hello XDA,
I got an LG G4 gifted, and as one of the first things I want to do is to root it. However I seem to have quite some difficulties with it.
My previous phone was a Nexus 4, and I simply rooted with 'Nexus Root Toolkit'.
For this phone there appears to be many, different ways to do that.
First thing I need to be sure is what exact model my G4 is.
In 'Phone Info > Hardware' it simply says H815. In the LG Mobile Support Tool it says H815B (Which gives no result on Google). The phone is from Germany if it helps.
Second thing is that it says I can update to SW version v10c. But when I download the update, it simply throws a 'Invalid Software Package' error at the end of it. The LG Mobile Support Tool says I have no update avalaible instead.
Third thing is that I don't remember if I have to unlock the bootloader to root my phone (did that only once on my N4, forgot if it's needed). If yes, can somebody link me to the appropriate page? (I've read around LG itself released a tool to unlock that?) (Also, I will loose all my data IIRC?)
Last thing, obviously, the most appropriate Root guide for my model. I've read many of them, one requires you to have linux on your PC (Which is a nope), others mentions '10c' (which I suppose is the update I'm unable to get). So far I got myself only very confused. (Root voids warranty? IIRC LG still covers phone with root?)
Thanks in advanced for your help
EDIT: Currently trying with LG Bridge software, seems to work and says my phone is H81520A (So I suppose the part after the device code is the 'SW Version' ?).
EDIT2: Apparently updating with that software worked. Now on v10c (Marshmallow 6.0 - Unless there are other updates waiting)
You can indentify your model by adding your IMEI to the following link: csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
(look for the field buyer)
The unlock process is described in this thread.
But don't fash SuperSu If you are on Android 6.0, because it will fail to boot. First flash an custom kernel (like this) and then SuperSu.
If you're unable to unlock the bootloader, then there is no possibilty to get root on Android 6.0.
Thanks. It says DEU at the buyer line.
D(eutschland)EU(Europe) I suppose.
And thanks for the link. In the kernel page it says 'download 20a or 20b? What's that number? So I need a Kernel that inclused SuperSU as flashing it on its own will cause that problem in few words?
What about this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/repack-kernel-root-android-6-0-t3232387
From what it seems, it's a custom kernel + root. Would I still need to unlock the bootloader? Perhaps using the 'LG Site' section from the thread you linked (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/unlock-bootloader-install-twrp-root-t3128241)?
The software versions are quite strange on lg phones. 20A was the first test version that was released in poland. The official version now is 20B but phones with a branding have different versions. For example my phone has a vodafone branding and has the version 20A, but it is the same as unbranded 20B. (so it's really strange some times)
Look what is written in the settings under software information.
You need to unlock your bootloader to root your phone on Android 6.0 (this will void your warranty). You're right, it seems that SuperSu is already integrated in the kernel so you don't have flash SuperSu separately. But i am not complete sure because i didn't unlock my bootloader.
Thanks a lot for your help.
I managed to unlock the bootloader, but then I fuffed up..
Accidentally installed SuperSU (Was following that guide, and forgot about what you said).
Now the phone is kinda stuck at the very start, with the LG Logo (Not the animated one, the very first one)...
I'm hopeless now? D:
EDIT
I'm trying to recover with this video (LG G4 KDZ Firmware Restore Unbrick and unroot tutorial -- can't post links yet..)
But the LGFlashTool throws an error at 9% (imgur link -- can't post them fully yet) imgurDOTcom/pR1NYHD
EDIT2
Apparently I'm trying to flash a KDZ with Android 5.x while I'm on 6.0, which is a no. Will try with a 6.0 KDZ if I find one...
Else I hope for LG assistance (Or Amazon support, since the phone is less than 1 week old)
EDIT3
No luck with KDZ, but now the phone is going past to the animated logo, but being stuck there..
EDIT4
This saved me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63843511&postcount=146
Worked perfectly, my phone is back and fully working
Sorry, i wasn't online the last couple of hours, but i'm glad that all worked out for you

No problem, you were of great help.
I'm currently not trying to root until there is a safe procedure to do so for 6.0
I don't think that there will be an easier option in the near future. You can make a backup with twrp and try to flash the kernel again.
Mmm, currently I have only the bootloader unlocked. No root, no custom recovery.
I don't feel like to play more with these stuff in the near future, after I nearly bricked the G4
Perhaps later on.

Root/TWRP on 6.0 Bell LG G3 D852

Hey everyone, firstly I would like to apologize if this question is in the wrong place. This is my first post so I'm not overly sure where it is correct but "help" seemed good to me.
I have been trying to get XPosed working on my LG G3 for a few days now but it isn't working. When I go into it, it says "The exposed framework is not installed. Please download the latest ZIP file and flash it manually via recovery" which is fine but I can't get TWRP on my phone. I have tried using Flashify and the TWRP manager but when I attempt to boot into recovery I get an error saying "Boot verification FAIL". I don't know what information is relevant so this is everything about my phone.
Bell LG G3 D852 (I am 99% sure it is Bell, my contract is with Virgin Mobile)
I root with KingRoot 4.9.5
My android version is 6.0
Kernal Version is 3.4.0
Build Number is MRA58K
Software version is D85230e
I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me!
--EDIT--
Nevermind, I came across my answer! If anyone has this problem this is what I did and it got the job done

LG G3 D850 -Android 6-help needed for rooting

Hi ,
I just got my lg g3 d850 at&t- marshmallow(Android 6) and those AT & T Apps are so annoying ,thats why i m trying to root my LG G3 and all the methods are not working gives device not supported error. I have tried purple drake, LG One Click GUI & script, ioroot, and towelroot without success. Can anyone point me to right direction or steps to follow please ,i just want TWRP and flash like cm13 with basic android 6.
Thank you
Sorry, I can't give you specific information here, but I just went through three days of trying to root my D851 t-mobile (finally succeeded last night). You need to know what version of Android 6 that you have on the phone. Go to Settings / About Phone / Software Information. It will be listed as D850nnx, where 'nn' are digits and 'x' is a letter. My understanding is that the first A6 release for these phones is usually rootable. If it is a release later than that, it may very well not be rootable.
BTW, I am also on AT&T, but will use the t-mobile phone because it is easier to root, which was the reason I chose to buy it. On the D851, the first A6 release was D85130D. They have already rolled out the second release, but many of the phones have not OTA'd or been flashed yet.
---------- Post added at 11:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
After finding out what Android release you have, then do a search for "g3 d850nnx root", replacing the nnx with the info you got from the phone settings.
So far only kingroot let me have root access for few minutes and then its stops working.I was able to remove bloatwares from it ,phew.
But not able to flash TWRP or any recovery cause root access stays for few minutes.
i will try with the name as suggested also and will share if it works.
But is there no way around to do it on android 6 yet, really?
Thank you
