Curious if anyone has tried or had any luck running anything like Greenify or Titanium Backup on the Moto 360. I did get Greenify to load properly, and the interface is useable, but I couldn't actually get it to hibernate any apps. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck hibernating/freezing any apps.

Just a follow-up, once I had proper root on the Moto 360, Greenify does work, and it does hibernate apps, which is cool. You have to manually run it, but it does work. I never did get Titanium Backup to run though.
Hey, sorry to bump.
When u say manually u mean go to mini launcher and click on the app + zzz fot each hibernation ?
And whay apps did u hibernate and also did it make any dif battery wise ?

Yes, open the app and click zzz to hibernate all selected apps.
I actually hibernated about all of the apps I could, tough to tell if it really helped with battery life.

What you need is the autostarts app. Get it from market.

Don't bother. Android will kill them if you ever need memory
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.
it's fine. That's how android works. it keeps app in memory and kill them when needed.
so dont worry
so its better not to install apps like Advance Task killer or autostarts apps?
Is it ok to leave it on and let android decide when to kill it? Because if I leave them on, they eat by RAM & battery very fast.
Also leaving it on makes the phone laggy...
Pls guide...

If u have many apps running, then kill the apps ...some apps don't restart...it helps reduce the lagging....if there are only few apps running then don't bother...if u use task killers excessively then ur battery will surely get drained

Normally you shouldn't have to use an application such as "Advanced Task Killer". Android is unix based so it should handle pretty good with apps that are "not doing anything but running in the background".
What you can do is try to exit some apps properly (not just pressing the back button) by going to the menu and actually clicking on the "Quit" if it's available.

My SGS used to need the cache clearing every few days as it gradually slowed down over time. It also had quite a few wakelocks.
I installed Greenify from the Play Store and It makes my SGS consistently buttery smooth and after a few days there's not a hint of slowdown. It has also removed almost all of my wakelocks, greatly improving my battery life.

LEt's see if this works.
Im not that happy with it, my swipe keyboard is still runing in background, and whatsup and viber are fully turned off if you "greenify" them (meaning you need to open the apps to see if you got new messages. There are better apps for rom control

Your not supposed to greenify apps like Viber & Swipe. They need to run in the background to function properly.
I use it, and its worked better than any other program like it.

if u prefer socializing over performances, this app wasnt good idea, but sure, greenify hibernates selected apps making no cache building in RAM.
As for me, juz reboot ur fone.thats all.

Hi,
I would like your opinion on this.
If you had the option to Greenify or to freeze your system applications, what would you do/choose?

Please comment on what you think would be better for System Applications/User Applications that you do not or seldom use.

System apps, FREEZE.
User Apps, Greenify of course, why would you install an app and freeze it?

I should rephrase what I said.
Is it better to freeze or greenify system applications, instead.
And I do freeze my installed applications like Airdroid, Skype and Viber. They do run even when you Greenify them.

Airdroid is no problem to Greenify, but Skype and Viber (yahoo, whatsapp etc..)won't receive any messages or phone calls since Greenify only unfreeze them when you ask for them by tapping their icons.
System apps can't be greenify. Greenify doesn't see system apps.
Why would I greenify an app which I don't use or I am going to use it very rare? The best way is to freeze it or simply uninstall it. Greenify runs in the forground process so the app would itself drain the battery.

An app like Tapatalk always run in the background. I don't want to unfreeze it each time i'm using it but I don't want it to run when I don't use it. Greenify is perfect for this. Most apps always check for updates or do some background work. Greenify helps a lot the battery cuz instead of having 10 apps running in the background you only have the one, Greenify.

I have the donate version of Greenify so I do have the option to hibernate them.
Yes, I underdtand the consequences when Greenify-ing messaging applications but I still find them useful when I open them and use them as normal.

At 2-3 megabytes of RAM, I don't see any drain for Greenify. There are many instances that I would like to use an application and Greenify would be more convenient than a freeze.
Greenify both system apps and installed apps...

I want to disable all those Included Packages from google services that are draining my battery. But I don't find them anywhere. I have a rooted phone.

Out of those apps in your screenshot you can safely freeze google bookmark sync and network location
Use a free app from the market called "app quarantine"
Ps. Like the other guy said, if these bother you, better get an iPhone or windows phone.

Ah,so that's what he said. Ok, but I'm gonna hold on to SONY.
Looking for a App that does as above without taking up much memory in the background whilst doing so. I trialed Smart Booster app and it allowed me too disable auto start for apps I don't need and hibernate others etc but sorta felt like the app itself drain my battery just as much as the apps that were auto starting. Thanks in advance
It's not free, $1.49. But it's worked for me in the past. Personally don't think it will be very useful on this device.

Why do you want free RAM? Free RAM is wasted RAM. Android doesn't need you to constantly clear the RAM. It's actually bad to do that because you need to use more CPU power to recompile the whole app when you open it again until we fully switch to ART which pre-compiles all apps.
Also Android by design will dynamically close apps to make room if it needs more RAM than you have available. Plus not clearing it will safe battery because the CPU will run less cycles when you use apps.
That's just my opinion, however I'm sure you have a reason as to why you wan to clear the RAM. I just thought it was with mentioning the above in case you didn't know.

Reason = Battery Drain. I don't use the Radio, EVER. So why is it showing in android os in the battery settings? Just like quite a few other processes sitting in that long ass list. That's why I ask.

Might just do that, thanks. I see LG Suite is using a lot. I dunno why though, that's fine If I freeze also? Requires $5.99. Gonna have to deal with it for a while, ive donated over $30 just today..

There's a free version if the app that allows you to freeze apps still, but it won't let you do batch operations if I remember correctly.
