Magnetic Adapter - Xperia Z1 Accessories

In case anyone is interested I have 2 Magnetic Adapters that I used with my Z1s (home and car). I don't need them anymore (went to G3) so just PM me and I will send it out to you by regular mail. U.S. only.

Motorola Atrix Lapdock

I just purchased a Motorola Atrix Laptop dock and it should be here in a little over a week. I am curious though, I use an Otterbox Commuter series case... will i be able to use the lapdock without the removal of my case?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
I don't have any case with my atrix+lapdock but I know that there is a piece in the lapdock connector that you can remove to allow the connection with a case.
Regards
Thank you very much.

Short answer, NO, even with removing the insert, the commuter will not fit. I had to physically modify (read hack) the case to pull the connectors further through the mounting location. The USB connector needs to come out further primarily.
Another option is to try a 5 wire micro usb extender, and a micro hdmi extension.
afaik the only cases which fit into lapdock-holder are mesh-cases (maybe, see other thread) and the incipio feather (which - I can confirm - fits in any other original-motorola dock).
The Motorola ruggedized battery cover also fits nicely.

I would also like to know the outcome of this. I use the commuter case as well.
The Incipio silicrylic case does not fit into the lapdock either. Only the HDMI connection is made, not the power, so the lapdock thinks only entertainment center is an option. I may just go for the rugged battery cover.

This is a better price if you are living overseas! The previous cable was $15 USD with a $35 delivery charge to Australia. This set is now $40 + $5 delivery fee for both cables to Australia!
Which seller offers the best price shipping overseas.
Does anyone know where can i buy this HDMI upgrade kit for cheap ? 45 dolar for 2 pieces of cable is simply raping.

The micro usb is easy, the mini hdmi will require an adapter. The mini hdmi female to mini hdmi female adapter was at the bottom of the page on my search.

I can confirm that these cables work fine with my Rooted Stock Atrix - make sure you take out the extra plastic plate and fits together comfortably. It will be interesting to see if the other Moto phones with the reversed ports (Bionic, Razr, Atrix II etc) will work as well on it as well.. Hopefully they do if I decide to get an upgrade sometime soon.
It is expensive - but at least it works.

I'd heard that the stand was around £35. For a moment I thought Clove had got one, but that turns out to be the normal desk stand (I think, see http://www.clove.co.uk/accessories/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s3/cables-chargers)
Like the idea of the wireless charger because I've seen how easy it is, based on the three HP Touchpad's we've got in the house.

The Touchpad folks in the house haven't noticed any difference in charge time (apart from the initial one) between wired and wireless charging.
That said, the difference in the initial charge was quite long, (one TP was wired charged, the other two wirelessly), in the order of an hour if memory serves me. And if the Samsung charger is anything like the HP TP one then you don't have to be too precise with your device positioning.
Just wish that the Samsung S3's charger also allowed a headphone out - kind of like the old (?) Apple iPhone/iPod dock (the one with the remote). It'd be nice to give that Wolfson DAC a spin by using S3 as an iPod replacement.
The important questions are, is it compatible with my current PowerMat that I own. Also, I have read about PowerMat's new NFC charge card that should be out sometime this year. You swap out the NFC card with their NFC+Charge card and there is no need to switch phone backs.
September? WTH!
http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/9/3009404/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-wireless-charge-kit-september
Yes what is the hold up?
What I've heard is that basically it was a last minute addition and was never going to be ready on time - it wasn't delayed, it was always expected to come this late after launch. Might get the LG Optimus LTE2 instead, as that also comes with wireless charging apparently.

Case that fits with inductive charging battery cover.

I just picked up the inductive charging battery cover from Verizon today and unfortunately my Rearth Slim Lite case no longer fits. Does anyone know a case that will accommodate the new battery cover?

Did you really? I have seen nothing on the availability of the back cover. Does it work with PowerMat?
I wonder if the inductive back works with the HP Touchstone?
Ya I read on engadget that they were available now and my Verizon store had 3 in stock. The official s3 charging pad isn't available yet but it worked fine with the Verizon/LG Qi compatible pad I have.

Damn. Was going to pick one up tomorrow to use with my touchstone. What a shame. Guess I'll keep waiting until Samsung released the official one. Hope they don't charge as much for the whole setup as Verizon is.
I think I read $90 total for the back + mat.... Unless it works differently than my DIY touchstone project.... why so expensive?

Just what we need, proprietary inductive charging.
How do they even make that work? Make a coil accept only a certain amperage, like .0895 exactly?

Its not an official Samsung Galaxy SIII inductive cover, but it is an official Verizon Galaxy SIII cover tho.
Verizon offer and has had them made for a couple of their devices actually.
Is it possible to get a picture of the underbelly of the battery cover. I know the Verizon variant has 2 additional pins near the sim slot that none of the others have. wondering which set of pins the Verizon cover uses. I'm assuming the lower pins making it useless for me anyways.
Samsung needs to hurry and release the real official inductive charging kit which works with ALL GSIIIs. Also an inductive charging car mount while their at it.

I dont think the cover works with any other Galaxy SIII other then Verizons tho. I'm thinking the back cover connects to the exclusive lower pins on the Verizon variant rather then the pin out all the SIIIs have. Sadly..
Hoping to get pics to confirm. Stopped by a few places today (well, yesterday) and none of the Verizon stores I went to had any.

The inductive battery cover from Verizon definitely connects to the lower pins that are exclusive to the Verizon phone. It also connects to the standard pins that are on the other phones. I guess it is so the Verizon phones will work with Verizon inductive chargers as well as Samsung chargers.
I would post a pic but I am brand new to this forum.

Yes, I saw that in the pics, it has contacts for both the VZW specific pins and the other "standard" S3 pins. It does look like it will work with both types of chargers.

You will see the wireless charger for the samsung galaxy s3 with "touch stone".. Has anyone tried this out? Does anyone know if you just buy the inductive phone cover from the same seller, will it work on another inductive charger (like the charging pads that are available everywhere?)

HTC One Docks?

Are there any? Cant seem to find one anywhere yet.
Same question. There are no pogo pins like on the one x and no wireless charging options so any dock would have to be charge via the USB port on the bottom.
I use my phone as a bedside alarm clock so a dock is an important accessory for me
Si
Big question for me too. Especially with wireless charging omitted.
Hopefully there will be a dock soon.

Dont think so. The first one is announced for the HTC One and has the same micro usb as the 2nd link. The 2nd link you can slide the usb connection left and right to center it for example. But the most important part (the back and front of the micro usb) is the same in both pictures

Sorry my bad I didn't read it and just had a brief look. But what I mean is not all generic docks will work as the HTC One (not sure about other models) has a inverted Micro USB port. Thus a generic dock which may work for the S3 for instance, will not work for the M7.
Is is possible to get a dock that outputs a line out?
