[Q] What is a suitable ROM for Galaxy Fame S6810p?

Hello,
after having had a HTC Desire HD I have upgraded (actually downgraded) to a Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810p.
However, as I am not very satisfied with TouchWiz and the bloatware on the phone I would like to flash a 'vanilla' ROM on the device, a task which is quite new for me, but something I would like to learn.
Having read myself into ROM Managers, Goo Managers, etc. I have not been able to find any ROM suitable for the S6810p. Therefore here few basic questions before I continue reading on:
- can I only used ROMs that have been adapted to my phone?
- Is there a vanilla ROM for my phone (Samsung Galaxy Fame s6810p)
- and if not, how much is the effort to port one to my phone?
I had used the search function looking for entries for Galaxy Fame etc and have not found anything (apart from rooting the phone)

CWM recovery for s6810p
hey. I hav recently rooted my samsung galaxy fame and wanted to know wer can I get CWM recovery for it. I hav tried the rom manager but it does not show my model in the list. so can u please tell me how to get clock work recovery in samsung galaxy fame s6810p. thnx in advance.

1st yes you can only use a rom adapted to your phone
2nd vanilla rom? I don't think there is any custom rom for this model
3rd you have to try anyway first find a phone that suits your hardware specification and port a rom from that device

nobody knows a suitable rom for this device?

hai guys!!!! i just bought this samsung galaxy fame a few days back ovrall the device is good with a best camera @5 mp with autofocus. but huge cons goes with low memory on mutiple tasking and hanging of the ui. guys can u plz solve the low memory with the default rom or any new rom flashable plz let me know!!! hoping to find a way soon

A friend of mine have this phone and she asked me about upgrading it cause she realise it was getting really slow, etc.
So came here and was wondering if there is anything liek ROM, upgrade, firmware etc for this phone that I can spice up her phone a bit.

try to build a cwm in builder try google search
and 1 more thing you don't need cwm to install a rom you can create odin flashable tar files also

How can i create a Tar files from another rom? i hope the galaxy ace rom work on fame flashed it with odin:silly:

So has anyone found a CWM for this phone yet? It's driving me crazy! I'm starting to regret buying this phone because of this. How is it that nobody has done a port yet? The phone has been out for more than a year.

I'm wondering what else will pop up for this.

I'm in the same situation of many other users: this phone is really slow with the stock rom after some months of medium usage. I'm not a developer, I really don't know hot to create a new rom, but I can use my Galaxy Fame as a tester for a great new rom made in xda :good:
A pure Android experience like Cyanogenmod should be very useful for this phone, it could be much more light and smooth than the stock rom.
Many others phone (for example Galaxy W, Galaxy S Plus...) has some good roms that are CM based. It's a pity that Galaxy Fame hasn't any specific section on this incredible Forum I'm sure that many people will find interesting and useful a Galxy Fame Section with Android Development, Q&A, ecc...

Once you root the phone you can at least disable/freeze some of the bloatware that comes with the phone using Titanium Backup Pro, but yes, a clean custom ROM would make a world of difference and hopefully help with the freez-ups.
Also an overclock/undervolt kernel would be useful.

anyone tried the cwm posted?

CLOCK WORK MOD, or CWM, is not a rom, so does not count, i also am regreting buying this phone for the lack of custom roms..........gues we can't have anything, and have to move along to other devices.

This is how a site no one helping.

by following the instructions on your site. I installed the rom hydronium. I've installed the device opened twrp 2.8.0.0. but "usb device not recognized" error. also the battery does not charge. before the device is reset before the end of the complete battery does not charge. How do I get rid of these problems. What is the purpose of this site. Nobody doesn't know? Can you offer me immediate solution. Mobile odin is obsolete. cannot connect to my Tablet isn't charging playing basketball wit fren. What if I don't have a solution. you are sharing on the site. but there's no one who knows the solution.

I'd be willing to bet that the solution is on the site but if this is your first post about your issue u are going about it the wrong way. What device do you have...specifically? What ROM did you try to install? What instructions did you follow?

If you have p602 it isnt for that tablet,all your answers are here and you should have read before you did anything so then you would have known what to do in case anything went wrong. That rom is for p600 and p601 so maybe that's why it doesn't work. You should have did a backup first in twrp so if there was a problem you can just restore you're back up.Just use search bar on top and youll find all the answers you need. Im not a tablet pro but I would just start off with a fresh install of your firmware. I have p600 and never heard of p602 till now but im sure you can find the answers in forum. I dont understand when you say odin is obselete? Do you have odin on your computer?

First you need to flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620963 to convert your p602 into a p601, after that you can flash Hydronium rom which is designed for p600/p601.

Are you using stock charger?

I'm a new member here and I just donated to the rom developer of the rom that I am currently running (Aroma Galaxy Tab S rom for Note 10.1 2014) so that he may help solve a problem. I think thats a more proper way to go about things here.
Try flashing another rom. I have had none of those errors with the Tab S rom or Hyperdrive KK rom.
But if you don't know what your doing don't blame anyone here. Your suppose to learn, contribute and try to solve the problem yourself as well. Giving details helps most of the time also.

I am a regular user. Don't want or need too much. Just updated rom. Prefer marshmelo that work working good with no problems and with easy install..

Blisspop Marshmallow! I am using it for some days now and its very stable and running on Android 6.0.1.

Its based on the CM rom. Do why not use the CM?

Try Eclipse V5 if you want a TW rom. I am using it. I just flash it two weeks ago. I also on stock 4.4.2 before this. First time flashing. Never knowing soo much about rom and other stuff. Make sure you read a lot before flashing. Most of the instruction can get online. Although V6 is out, but i still stick with V5. Most V5 info can get from "[ROM][GT-N7100][TW 4.4.4] Eclipse By AC" under "Galaxy Note II Original Android Development". Happy flashing.

i have been using android version 5.1.1 based on CM 12.1 by ivan meler and i have been using this phone with this rom for the past two months , it's development has been completed that means it is the most finished version with literally 0 bug or lags and i must say i didn't expected this kind of performance at all ... this made me revert back to my note from my iphone 6 (you can imagine the smoothness of this rom) i would not recommend you marshmallow based roms becasue about 20 days i tried one and it had issue so if you use this device as a daily driver i would say go for 5.1.1 roms instead and CM 13&MM is still in development phase that means developers are still making it worthy .

Yes it's based on CM but I tested some Marshmallow Roms and this ROM is really good.

Try Ivan Meler's Cyanogenmod 13 Rom ( Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow).
It´s pretty stable and i had no problems until build 6.
Wirth build 7 there is a problem with bluetooth for some people.

All the custom ROMs (not Samsung official) must be installed with a custom recovery like TWRP or ClockworkMod. The custom recovery can be installed with Odin.
I have been like a month with CM13 and I had no problems, but if you want a stable ROM, install an older one like CM12.1 aka Lollipop.

OK. And how it's update?
From 12 to 13 When will be stable. Need again flash and wipe or OTA update?

Try Dr. Ketan's kit Kat, N3, N4 and S5 features. Truly superb. Great battery life, Viper FX for sound. Stable. Tried many but always come back to this one.

I am interested in editing the stock ROM (KITKAT) of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo (N750) for removing all Samsung apps. I also want to edit the Settings section as I think it is now boring - old fashioned. Kindly tell me what to do? I want to learn the procedure.

install Lollipop, root, flash TWRP and install NoteRom v4 and all your needs and wishes will be fullfield.

Ahh okay, I guess the standard lineage then if they have anything for Note2. Although have not checked if there exist anything for note 2 :/ It is an old mobile for sure.

Did you end up finding a stable ROM for Note II? How did it go? I'm in the same boat.

The best rum I have used so far, XenonHD is very stable and very successful in charging.
