[Q] What is a suitable ROM for Galaxy Fame S6810p?

Hello,
after having had a HTC Desire HD I have upgraded (actually downgraded) to a Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810p.
However, as I am not very satisfied with TouchWiz and the bloatware on the phone I would like to flash a 'vanilla' ROM on the device, a task which is quite new for me, but something I would like to learn.
Having read myself into ROM Managers, Goo Managers, etc. I have not been able to find any ROM suitable for the S6810p. Therefore here few basic questions before I continue reading on:
- can I only used ROMs that have been adapted to my phone?
- Is there a vanilla ROM for my phone (Samsung Galaxy Fame s6810p)
- and if not, how much is the effort to port one to my phone?
I had used the search function looking for entries for Galaxy Fame etc and have not found anything (apart from rooting the phone)

CWM recovery for s6810p
hey. I hav recently rooted my samsung galaxy fame and wanted to know wer can I get CWM recovery for it. I hav tried the rom manager but it does not show my model in the list. so can u please tell me how to get clock work recovery in samsung galaxy fame s6810p. thnx in advance.

1st yes you can only use a rom adapted to your phone
2nd vanilla rom? I don't think there is any custom rom for this model
3rd you have to try anyway first find a phone that suits your hardware specification and port a rom from that device

nobody knows a suitable rom for this device?

hai guys!!!! i just bought this samsung galaxy fame a few days back ovrall the device is good with a best camera @5 mp with autofocus. but huge cons goes with low memory on mutiple tasking and hanging of the ui. guys can u plz solve the low memory with the default rom or any new rom flashable plz let me know!!! hoping to find a way soon

A friend of mine have this phone and she asked me about upgrading it cause she realise it was getting really slow, etc.
So came here and was wondering if there is anything liek ROM, upgrade, firmware etc for this phone that I can spice up her phone a bit.

try to build a cwm in builder try google search
and 1 more thing you don't need cwm to install a rom you can create odin flashable tar files also

How can i create a Tar files from another rom? i hope the galaxy ace rom work on fame flashed it with odin:silly:

So has anyone found a CWM for this phone yet? It's driving me crazy! I'm starting to regret buying this phone because of this. How is it that nobody has done a port yet? The phone has been out for more than a year.

I'm wondering what else will pop up for this.

I'm in the same situation of many other users: this phone is really slow with the stock rom after some months of medium usage. I'm not a developer, I really don't know hot to create a new rom, but I can use my Galaxy Fame as a tester for a great new rom made in xda :good:
A pure Android experience like Cyanogenmod should be very useful for this phone, it could be much more light and smooth than the stock rom.
Many others phone (for example Galaxy W, Galaxy S Plus...) has some good roms that are CM based. It's a pity that Galaxy Fame hasn't any specific section on this incredible Forum I'm sure that many people will find interesting and useful a Galxy Fame Section with Android Development, Q&A, ecc...

Once you root the phone you can at least disable/freeze some of the bloatware that comes with the phone using Titanium Backup Pro, but yes, a clean custom ROM would make a world of difference and hopefully help with the freez-ups.
Also an overclock/undervolt kernel would be useful.

anyone tried the cwm posted?

CLOCK WORK MOD, or CWM, is not a rom, so does not count, i also am regreting buying this phone for the lack of custom roms..........gues we can't have anything, and have to move along to other devices.

[Q] Tab 3 T-211 Root & Roms & else

Hi guys , how u all doing ?
I got a Tab 3 T-211 (Indian Model)
got a couple of questions here, please spare some time. I have gone through the forum for Tab 3 & read most of the threads, but i still got some questions for the same.
You see its my first tab, & if i brick it, there wont be another for a while.
SO HELP PLEASE !!
Q1 : Best way of rooting this device ? & How to unroot if needed ?
- Best way to back up my game files( injustice & all) & data.
- can i back up to pc ?
Q2 : Best rom for it ?
- Want to do gaming, so want something light & stable. No or least bloatware.
- I know this is not the best device for gaming.
Q3 : is it worth it ?
- Will it make it faster for gaming ?
- Like iron man 3, man it lags like anything
Q4 : How to get into root & rom programming & development ?
- Very interested, plus these days i have some spare time.

I have a question about USB Otg. Is there a custom rom or a kernel that can enable this feature in t211?

Hi guys just wanted to infom , that i rooted my device (Galaxy TAB T211 ) with Kingo android root.
worked like a charm.
plus it also has a function to unroot the device as well.
well basically wanted to let u know that TAB T211 is also compatible with this software.
Now on to roms.
BTW can anyone make a suggestion for a good rom, should be lightweight & gaming oriented.

if u know any dev the you can request for custom rom know..

I know only 1 and he made cm for the device he has t210/r ithink
Its hard to develop roms without the device so we need someone who owns this device

I can flash rom to my N900T but isnt works! PLS HELPPPP

I flashed cople roms to my N900T.
I have CWM , Root . Finally I flashed X-Note Trasformers For N9005
I flashed Complusion kernel v9.0 and Wifi/NFC/Bluetooth Fix.
The x note worked perfect until I install again.
Now My phone cannot work.
Condition :
- Fastboot Works
- CWM works.
- Flash with ODIN works.
What I Tried :
- Flash Tmobile Stok rom , But again rom cant open. Crash
- Flash n9005 , n900t diffrent custom roms. but again CRASH.
- Again and again instal ROOT , CWM , Twm. But dindt works.
My Phone Screen : after flashing every rom , n900t open aprox. in 5 min then shows " xxx program cash do you wantto wait or not ?"
Summary : Guys , My N900t is alive but cannot work with any stok or custom rom. Only I can flash.
PLS HELP!

Edit. OK I found the rom and read the whole op. Doesn't say it is compatible for n900t. You might wanna head over to that forum and ask them for the help you seek. I read somewhere that once you go kit Kat you can't go backwards. Not sure if this is true. Waiting for devs to get T-Mobile version and update current roms.

[Q] help me choose a ROM

I'm pretty new to all of this and still a bit tentative. I have searched quite a bit and learned a lot but I still generally feel overwhelmed when I try to read threads specific to certain ROMS.
I recently got a Tab 3.7 (SM-T210R) and have managed to root it and install PhilzTouch.
I also installed RocketTab Lite which was good but I realise what I want is all the Samsung stuff gone, so it feels more like a simple android device.
So, I'm trying to figure out what ROM would suit me best.
Also, it is only 8GB and even with almost no apps (or media) it seems to be almost a third full. So far I haven't got Link2SD to work. Will another ROM allow me to move apps to the SD like I could in my phone?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Thanks. Can you flash a Kit Kat ROM on a tab that has jellybean, or do you have to upgrade first?
Also, that says it is for a Tab 3.10, would it work with the Tab 3.7?

CAGrom is made only for the Tab 3 10. You can find roms for the 7 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-7
I don't know anything about the roms for that device. though, XDA generally prohibits suggestions as it is all about experiencing and experimenting finding the right fit that you want. I suggest looking at the roms at the link above and see if any might interest you there. good luck.

[Q] Transform the P5210 Tab3

My Question is today:
Is is possible to transform the P5210 to a Tab4?
I mean the flashing of the official firmware
The screensize is not bigger and not smaller

I think not possible, because P5210 is Intel Atom (x86) basis and Tab 4 is Qualcomm Snapdragon (ARMv7) basis. So firmwares of these are not compatible with each other. Maybe there could be "Tab 4-alike" custom firmware for P5210, but it needs someone to develop it.

Glad that it was good I don't know about details of that Rom, maybe you should post question to Rom thread. I have P5220, so I've looked that rom but likely it won't work on my Tab3...so I havent been able to try it (still waiting for good custom Rom for P5220 ).

I think you should install a custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) and then install the zip via that custom recovery. I suggest you to read instructions on GAGRom thread and homepage.
