I was running 4.4.4 kitkat on my htc one m8 with a cid no. of HTC__038 and the software no. - 3.35.720.1, s-on and booloader unlocked. I flashed TWRP recovery and rooted it then I unrooted it and installed stock recovery back again but it is still showing a modified tag in bootloader screen and I am unable to install lollipop on my phone as it gets stuck while installing in the installing screen. I used Hasoon2000's toolkit for this. Now, what should I do? Please help!

Hi
Is there a stock recovery for this?
I am moving my phone on and want it stock. I have removed tampered and relocked bootloader and have stock .1.54.401.10 but no recovery, just a red triangle with an exclamation.
1) Is that normal for stock recovery?
2) If not, can recovery .5 go on fine?
Thanks

You cannot flash recovery because your boot loader is locked. Unlock boot loader, remove tampered label, flash recovery, properly lock boot loader with soff so its not relocked.

As you posted in my backup thread already a couple of times....you know you can unlock the boot loader, BOOT the custom recovery and perform a nandroid backup. That will save the stock HTC recovery !
Hi,
I have the Taiwan variant of the HTC One M8.
I was running Android 4.4.4 with an unlocked bootloader unlocked via HTCDEV. There were no other modifications.
Today I updated to Android 5.0 through OTA and it went smoothly.
After that I installed TWRP via Fastboot, and tried installed SuperSu through that.
SuperSU installed but would not get root access. I mistakenly wiped via the Fastboot menu after that. The phone will not boot into the Android system anymore.
I installed TWRP again via Fastboot but am unsure how to proceed.
I can't find the appropriate files for my model.
modelid: 0P6B11000
cidnum: HTC__621
S-On
Bootloader Unlocked.
The only Nandroid Backup I found with my cidnim was 2.22.709.4 - TWRP.
Would it be okay to restore to this, or what should I do now?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Yep, restore that one and flash back the stock recovery. Then update again

Thanks for that.
I had already installed from the old nandroid backup, but as soon as I hit Android 5, my wifi stops working.
I'll try using your Android 5 Nandroid now.
Thanks again.

I know my opinion is not the most popular, but as long as 4.4.4 KitKat runs fine, I don't see a point of installing Lollipop at this time. When Sense 7 and Lollipop 5.1 will arrive, then hopefully it will be worth it.

But I'm not able to install the updates even when the sense 7 arrives still I'll not be able to install the update.
So yesterday i got a new phone (HTC One M8s) and the first thing i do is try to root it, so i unlocked the bootloader and then tried to flash a recovery, but when i went into the recovery the phone just turned off and i have tried flashing different versions of cwm and twrp, even stock recovery doesn't work so i don't know what i should do
P..S. I'm a newbie at rooting
P.S.S I'm s-on and running the latest sense 6 OTA update

M8s ≠ M8. Refer to this thread

Hello, i have red so many forums of how to update a rooted htc one m8, but there are so many opinions i'm left very confused. Some say you only need to flash stock recovery (never clarified which version of the recovery, the one in the update you are going to install or the one your device is currently at, mine is at 3.29.161.9), other say you need to Install Stock Nandroid Backup, flash the stock recovery and relock the bootloader. When i rooted my phone i unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and from TWRP I installed SuperSU. So what is the actual procedure for updating a rooted HTC One M8?
1. You can install current firmware stock recovery or the version that you're going to update.
Doesn't matter, both work.
2. You need a clean stock non-rooted system which normally you can get from stock non-rooted nandroid backup. Restore the backup, install stock recovery then do OTA update... no need to relock bootloader.
