Unable to install back Sys App after removal

Hi!
First, I would like to give thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394 for a quick guide on rooting my new Samsung galaxy GT-I8150.
My problem
Because my device is now rooted, I was able to uninstall the built-in Music app using Super Manager. But before that I managed to backup the installer using Norton Utilities, the file is Music_1.1.1.apk. I did it on purpose because I thought I could install it back without hassle like other app on the market. Now my phone does not allow it to be installed anymore.
Can anyone help me on this?

Hi, may i know are you using stock rom?? If stock rom,all the program is odexed, and it cant simply put back. You should look for "system app remover" to do this,as inside got backup function.

I did the same thing before with MyFiles on stock ROM. My advice is don't you ever look back or you need to reflash you phone.

I'm new to android technology so forgive me I don't know what a stock rom is. But you mentioned about odexed. I noticed that every apk file on my /system/app has a corresponding odex file. Will that make sense?

Yes...if you r using stock rom,all the file is odexed. If u wanna get back ur music.apk,the best way is flash with odin 4.43 ,lower version might brick ur phone. Do some research be4 flashing. Be patient. If u wanna know which firmware u using now,you can dial *#1234# at dial pad. Then you can download ur firmware from sammobile.com . If u interested in custom firmware which is faster,u can always go to developer forum.

I tried to flash my phone using Odin 4.43 with ASIA ROMS, and it was successful. The music app has returned to its place. Seems like I really had a hard reset of my phone. Thanks to you jamestts. But a new problem arises. Sometimes when my phone has returned from Idle, the display is messy. There's an intense brightness with vertical stripes on it. If I turn the display off and then on then suddenly the display is back to normal.
And I think the device volume becomes weaker, android version has been downgraded from 2.3.6 to 2.3.5
Any Idea on how to resolve this issue?

U can simply use odin to flash the latest ROM. They are available in our forum and http://samsung-updates.com/gt-i8150-galaxy-w/

hi there, glad you make it!!!
try install cwm recovery and wipe cache n dalvik cache then reboot. Try to do it twice and see how is it!!! remember is wipe cache and dalvik cache. DO NOT WIPE DATA....else it will factory default again!!
if after restart and still got the same problem, then i suggest restore to default.
OR change wallpaper!!!
it doesnt matter whether you upgrade or downgrade the firmware version. cause i have updated to newest malaysia version which is 2.3.6 then downgrade to cow firmware first version 2.3.5 .
try and see will solve your problem or not. cause i never facing this kind of situation. good luck to you.

I Immediately followed the link provided by yewsiong and flashed the latest firmware. I think my phone is more stable now, it's good as new.

I've been running this rom for a while now. I tried another dev's rom and came back after only one day. That was over the weekend. Today, I received a phone call from someone that I was sure would leave a voice mail. That's when I realized that the voice mail app is missing!!!!!!! Did I do something wrong? Is it missing for everyone else? How can I get it back? help please.

What's going on with Netflix? I can't seem to get it to work on this ROM but I am able to get it working on other roms. I do get a error message that my phone is unable to connect to Netflix network. But I can restore a backup to another ROM and Netflix works with no problem.

flash stock kernel, start netflix / etc, flash cusom kernel back and you should be good to go!

If you did a full back up. You may be able to pull voicemail off of the back up file.
I do a stock backup through keies3 before modding. Ran NK2 flawlessly. Rom applied fine.

So today I tried to download a image file from my google drive and I couldn't. also tried to download image from chrome browser, and from MMS (save image) and that also didnt work. Anyone else have these issues?

Just tested from my google drive to device (using download feature in drive) Worked flawlessly. just tried a random google image (note 4 search) downloaded flawlessly as well, MMS (waiting on msg from person now)
Give me some more information about your device please. Kernel, rom version, wifi/mobile data, etc

It might be kernel causing the issue. I flashed stock kernel to get netflix working but never flashed ael 6 kernel back. Is there a link to download ael 6 kernel. 1st page of this thread does not have link to ael 6 kernel download link. prefer flash able kernel. Thanks!

kernel is NOT the issue for the image downloading. It is for netflix however lol. I use latest AEL nearly at all times...

SD Card Issue
Having issues with certain apps not finding sd card. Audiable app and even xposed. running v1.1 with stock kernel at this time trying to make things work. Any ideas or fixes?
Update: After trying sd card fix and doing through app and zip no luck with fixing issue, problem was solved when i used int-sd card write fix. If you are having this issue i recommend to run both the int-sd card write fix and sd card fix for KK. Hope this helps.

so I have this problem idk if its the rom or whatever but sometimes randomly I cant get sms or calls like im next to a person and tell me to text or call me and I see it going threw on the other phone but I get no notification on mine ? like it goes straight to voice mall without a notification, it also happened in stock rom but it hasn't happpend in a long time I flashed this rom and it started happening more often now, so like it makes me paranoid so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

I'm fairly certain this is the infamous "sprint spark issue".

i flashed this rom which is amazing btw any way i cant turn of the call automation, everytime i get a call i get a if you would like to accept this call press 1 to send to voice mail press 2 any help would be great plz&thank you

This is a google voice "feature". The only way I know to rid this is the proper setup of google voice. Or you can go online to voice.google.com and get rid of screened calling feature. Under settings (looks like a small wrench)

[Q] Video recording not working in 5.0.1 - force reboots phone

I installed the official T-Mobile 5.0.1 update N900TUVUFOB6 via Samsung Kies and rooted via Chainfire. I can take pictures okay but when I try to record videos through the stock Camera app, it freezes then reboots the phone, which happens every time! I've tried to install other camera apps from the Play Store but none of them work for video recording. I suspect it's an api issue. Has anyone run into this or know what the problem is? I've even wiped cache and did a factory reset through Recovery but still the same problem. I really need to be able to record videos on my phone, so if anyone has a solution I would be so grateful!

My stock rom I made doesn't have that problem, my wife records my kidz all the time, no issues... try wiping if you left your data, I always wipe all data before upgrading to any rom...

I have the same issue. Wiped the entire phone including internal sdcard, went back to stock firmware but nothing worked. Taking pictures works but as soon as press the record button it freezes and a few seconds later the phone will reboot.

Just to let you guy know what I am sure is going on, this video recording damage has been caused by none other than aosp! if you all have previously installed liquid smooth like I did in 3 separate devices

And 2 note 3's (one is tmo and one is sprint) I think it is any asop although each person having this damage to their device should answer if they previously installed aosp and specifically liquid smooth.
I was going to assume this damage was only going to happen on tmo note 3, so I tested it on 2 other phones and sure enough they must be forced to remain running asop (the s4 has candy 5) the sprint note 3 currently has the ever so bugging liquid smooth. I also have tried every clean Odin delete everything known to us layman's on the planet and now I am looking for a NV restore. I already tried so sort of a NV item restore Using the dialer *#9090# then pressing Q and then pressing 0000 then option 2,1,2,3 then all with no change. I read somewhere in the xda's grapevine lol about a flash able zip called "Brick_Loop_FIX_afterRestoringBackup" that starts an built in feature that restores or rebuilds the modem then upon boot restores the NV items. I am assuming they are the same thing. Although, with no thought it will fix anything I will flash the zip tomorrow and let you know. I got a couple things to back up incase whatever may happen capin, unless one of you guys try it first, let me know

Haven't heard from the grapevine what protocol, ims or a static rebuild even does except if your imei is all zeros and your don't have any network or stuck in a boot loop after a nandroiid restore I erpose this will fix those couple thing I have read. Although I assume the dialer hidden menu NV rebuild does not really NV rebuild all like it says it does or the all its referring to is really just the first 2 options that are just a couple basic stuffs or it would have fixed my aosp camera damage. Well never listen to anyone who says aosp is all the rave and how you should try it out lol its blackmail to get you to stay on a bugged out ROM forever! LOL

I had this same exact problem and i fixed it finally after hours of research and trial and error. I noticed that my baseband and bootloader was Nb4 even tho i had flashed lollipop, so i ended up flashing stock lollipop using odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile/general/5-0-n900tuvufob6-extracted-stock-t3047672 then after flashing i downloaded the lollipop bootloader and used odin 3.09 to flash that bootloader in BL, and the modem in ap, video camera works now and youtube has been fixed also.

How does one find the bootloader version? I checked and noticed the baseband is in fact Nb4, although looking for the bootloader version I just seen the build is Ob6.

Phone keeps freezing

A few days ago my phone all of a sudden started freezing and I could not do anything except use the home button to turn it off or reboot it. I used my backup that I made last week and it fixed the problem until today where it started happening again. I left my phone off wifi and when I woke up in the it was fine until i turned wifi back on but now it still freezes when im not on wifi. So i have no idea what to do but if anyone knows and can help me it would be great. LG-D852 Lollipop 5.0.1 Rooted.

Yes try flashing your kdz if it still does it sounds like a hardware issue but 9 outa 10 is some software issue

I wiped it from system settings and i still have the issue but it got a little better. I dont know where to get the kdz for stock 5.0.1

1) Type this in your browser http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b...heck2.jsp?esn=IMEI
2) Replace IMEI with your IMEI phone's code
3) The browser will display some html codes
4) Look for text something like :

I get an error on the site and it says communication with the server is not smooth. Isn't there another way to get the kdz?

U may not have a 5.01 kdz or tot
I have a d850 and far as i l know all i have 4.4.4 .tot file u can use a older one for all u know it could be something in ure update 5.0.1. U can use a older one the root it get bumped twrp then flash ure 5.0.1 rom to it

Dont try this guys site i know he may be trying to help dont ever give out ure iemi. I have never seen this before and the sites having issues i never seen nor heard of this site and its also in error sounds fishy plus i dont remeber been a while but i swear there were some people sscammin iemis a while back clonin phones so just be safe follow my link for you device

My 5.0.1 was built from a guy that makes his own stock roms. He gave it to me to flash after I had a software update on 5.0.

Should I just switch to custom rom? Haven't used one since I used paranoid Android on my s3 back in 2013

This all started when I tried to open the cbs sports app from the widget and it didn't respond so I closed it then played a game and got a phone call while playing but the answer button wouldn't respond probably due to the twilight app running. When twilight is running you can't side load apps it won't recognize that you're tapping on the install button. Anyways after I was unable to answer the phone call the notification in the tray wouldn't go away so I tapped on it to take me to the phone app but it closed right away and that's how this all started. I used my nandroid backup I made last week and that seemed to fix it for a few days

Ok so try to freeze all your user apps and defrost one bye one try to leave the app where the problem started towards the end i dont try to tell people to use a diffrent rom cause more than likley your are about like 99 % of people in the world and im one so no hypocrits here when we try a new rom we get so used to 1 specific setup first thing ure prob gonna do is redownload or restore all your old apps in order to "get your phone back in running order" i do it to may even try safe mode try disabling the apps that u noticed and see if that helps cause aparantly u like your rom or you woulda done changed but in my opinion i like every few months restoreing my phone stock tot methon and doing fresh. Install but again i end up with all the same apps tweaks and mods

I can't freeze any apps. Don't have the option to. It can stop working in any app.

Id make sure i backup any music pics or vids to ext sd and do a full wipe including int sd then flash new rom then

All my music and pics are already on my ext SD. And I'll backup the apps I want to

I wiped my whole internal and installed fulmics Rom and it still froze but took a lot longer

I installed fulmics rom and it has only froze once but some apps dont respond and thats how it all starts. i did do a clean wipe and i wiped my internal.

man im at a loss unless its deeper in the partition tables and when it comes to that ive really never just retored partition other than tot method or the hard brick pin ground

OP3 phone is un-usable please help!

I have an issue with my wife's OP3 that is driving me nuts.
Her phone runs stock OS without any changes but with an unlocked bootloader (just to be on the safe side i like to have an unlocked bootloader on all our devices).
I'm not sure if its related but I'm including it anyways she was playing a game on her phone and then she received a call and she answered it and tried to switch the call to speakerphone and the phone started rebooting right after booting the OS after 2-5 sec i would say "factory data reset" (see attached screenshot) and would reboot to the recovery.
then i would boot the phone again and the issue repeats itself.
so i used fastboot boot twrp.img to boot a recovery image and run a nadroid backup to a USB OTG just in case the phone is really hosed or whatnot.
I downloaded stock zip from oneplus's site and flashed it again from TWRP just to make sure its not some funky issue that happened to the os.
I even factory reset the phone from stock recovery and the issue would happen on the new phone setup wizard.
after a bunch of fiddling around I've flashed LineageOS 16 nightly and the phone boots normally and is fully usable but when i try to make or receive a call the phone app freezes and then crashes also sound doesn't seem to work when i try to play videos from youtube for example.
Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?

Take a backup of your personal files and then wipe system, data, internal storage and both caches. Then flash OOS 5.0.8 and without adding any apps, check the calling function. If it still happens, then most likely a hardware issue.

If it's a hardware problem which part should I replace?
I already ordered a battery before this issue started and I was planning on replacing it once it gets here maybe I can replace one of the parts in order to resolve this issue

I already ordered a battery before this issue started and I was planning on replacing it once it gets here maybe I can replace one of the parts in order to resolve this issue

You will need to replace the main board if the issue persist.

Hmmm quite strange that you're having the same issue.
I didnt find a solution yet i gave her a temp replace phone that we had in a drawer somewhere.
Did your wife do anything out of the ordinary when it happened? are you having the same issue that LOS works but stock rom shows factory reset?

Her phone runs stock OS without any changes but with an unlocked bootloader (just to be on the safe side i like to have an unlocked bootloader on all our devices).
I'm not sure if its related but I'm including it anyways she was playing a game on her phone and then she received a call and she answered it and tried to switch the call to speakerphone and the phone started rebooting right after booting the OS after 2-5 sec i would say "factory data reset" (see attached screenshot) and would reboot to the recovery.
then i would boot the phone again and the issue repeats itself.
so i used fastboot boot twrp.img to boot a recovery image and run a nadroid backup to a USB OTG just in case the phone is really hosed or whatnot.
I downloaded stock zip from oneplus's site and flashed it again from TWRP just to make sure its not some funky issue that happened to the os.
I even factory reset the phone from stock recovery and the issue would happen on the new phone setup wizard.
after a bunch of fiddling around I've flashed LineageOS 16 nightly and the phone boots normally and is fully usable but when i try to make or receive a call the phone app freezes and then crashes also sound doesn't seem to work when i try to play videos from youtube for example.
Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?

try using msm v3.0 tool fixes most problems not hardware though

No, She did not do anything out of the ordinary. But weirdly I have exactly the same things happening. Lineage works but no sound. Everything else factory resets. I have tried quite a few ROM'swithout any luck. So far the only ROM which worked for some time(1day) was 6.0.1 . I have spent quite a long time on this flashing various ROM and dont know what to do now.

Update: @ireaper4592 might have a point here. I have gone one level up and I tried msm v3.0 tool, thus doing a complete reinstall including firmware. The factory resetting stopped but the sound was not working (I thought that it could be the ROM and the security patches). So I updated to the latest ROM available from Oneplus and evrything has been working since. I did this last night so not sure how long this is going to stay like that. I will give it some time and update later. Wife is using it now!

what you will need to do is download the oneplus 3 recovery tool and put the phone into qualcolm mode and restore the phone that way. here is a link https://www.androidexplained.com/oneplus-3-unbrick-return-stock/

did you have to wipe the internal storage for this process to work ?

That tool/procedure will reset your phone. So you will lose everything on the phone. Take a backup beforehand.

I cant believe it i was sure this was a hardware issue which ended up being a software one that the MSM tool fixed.
When I have a few minutes to spare i'll write a full post on how I ended up resolving it with step by step instructions and how I did it without any dataloss.

I was about to update here with good news but wife's phone went back to restart loop the next day. I am not sure but probably triggered by her installing whatsapp and facebook. I put the phone away because I have already spend quite a lot of time behind this. Is your's still going? Please list the step by step procedure. Thanks
