[Q] problem with wifi 802.1.x - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
since i quitted the official ROM for cyanogen (10.2 and then 11, the version of ace2nutzer 20141118 with his kernel of 20141212), it is impossible for me to connect to a wifi 802.1.x. THis system is used in enterprises and universities. In particular, as i work in a university, i need to connect to the eduroam network which exists all over the world (eduroam.org). I tried all the tricks found with google but none of them worked (mainly modifying the wpa_supplicant and wpa_supplicant.conf files) .
It used to work with the official ROM but impossible now.
Can you connect to such networks ?
Thank you for your help

I actaully can't try it, BUT @ace2nutzer offers a really awesome and active support for his kernel
BTW
Have you tried the a newer kernel version? 20150311 should be the latest Why can't you go back to the official rom?

assuming it's the same as standard cm7, you go into wireless settings and enable it
Yes, I know where it is, but it won't work :-/ People can find and connect to the network, but gets "no Internet access".
I am now using Wifi Tether for root users from market, but I like the built in bether

It's working here fine, but then I'm using Rc1 not the modified one, so seems like the winzip dev has broken something with his modding.

Mine doesn't work either, I've try all of the above, different CM versions as new installs v3.3.9 all the way to v3.6.0, different CM versions as up-dates and get nothing…. I can connect to the network but get no internet.
But it works fine with the new CM7 Tweaked CLK version.
And it also works if I use it as a MAGLDR version.
Mind you, this is on an HD2!!!
CM WIFI doesn't work!

Wireless-N on stock Android 2.2

Hi!
Two days ago I changed HD2 to a new Desire. I was able to sell it for the same price at which they bought it, but the thing ...
The HTC Desire I miss the WiFi N, I know that it is possible to unlock this feature. What kernel will be adequate for stock Android 2.2 ROM 2.29? Is this even possible?
I changed the whole kernel to another which was to cause the camera in 720p will work well, but it did not help. It is a proven kernel that will fit the stock ROM?
Sorry for my english ... please, help me and many other people with that same problem. I was searching two days, but with no result..
Hmm... i didnt know the Desire supported "N"? I thought it was a 54g device..?
what exactly is wifi N?

Google it...
WiFi b/g/n but ours only support b/g.
n would provide much better speed/range/etc assuming the modem is churning out WiFi n version 2.4Ghz iirc?
I think some custom ROMs here claims they support N but over here I don't have any WiFI using n so can't test.
I have WiFi in N standard at home so i want to use it.
Exacly, N stadard comes with more signal power so it's have wider range and its faster than G standard.
I start new topic becouse i see ROM's for Desire with WiFi-N protocol, I see kernels with WiFi-N but when i flash these kernel WiFi at my phone doesnt work...so i hope, You help me
Thanks, cheers from Poland.
o...
maybe You have Kernel with patch for camera 720p ? I can take movies in 720p but these framerate is ~18-21. I flash kernel with GPU+ but i didnt see any result. Flash new Kernel is thats all or i must do something else?
Yes you can enable wifi N. Download the AuraxTSense ROm from Neo and he has a seperate patch fro Wifi N. It works a treat
yea,
I saw thread about this ROM, at down of first post i read about support for wifi-N:

Android 4.4.2 Omnirom

I read about an omnirom available for our captivate glides running 4.4.2
Anyone tried running this yet? How stable is it?
I found the link here: http://true-android.blogspot.ca/2014/03/update-samsung-captivate-glide-sgh-i927.html
I also dont know, for any rom that has separate gapps, when would you flash those? After or before the new rom? at the same time? Like, if after a ROM flash it automatically reboots, it will boot up with no gapps and likely not run - correct?
Was just curious about how buggy it is. Even if down the road when things are smoother, im excited to see if i can get this one running!

you can find more information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541182
Gapps is included. You must install rom zip first, because it formats system partition.
Official gapps doesnt compatible with our phone, I think its better not installing.
hmm..

I am using omni ROM . . somehow I find it less buggy than cm 11
Nevertheless I would wanna give my thanks and even though I am pointing out bugs . . I really do appreciate his work .. A lot
Omnirom is very very stable has all if not most of the theming features except for trebuchet launcher
//It is a bit more battery consuming but I like it cause I am able to run my processor at 1.4ghz which is sweeeet!!!
//It has issues with OK Google functionality the audio is lagged and irritating
//The Google experience launcher is not built for it
//It has issues with Google maps 7 but there is a fix to have 6th version to back you up when needed
//it has issues with Skype and the fix is work in progress I guess..
//GPs is a bit slow but works
//WiFi direct crashes for me
Once in a blue moon the phone might rebot itself cause of a crash..
Though considering WiFi tethering , 3g switching, link2sd ,memory swapping
Ksm everything is working really try it . . its an amazing experience from an amazing phone
Can someone tell me the difference between wifi direct, wifi sharing, and wifi sharing manager??
Wifi itself is working in 4.4.2 right?
Also, were your keyboard backlights working automatically or did you ened qwerty led?
is qwerty led something that needs to be running all the time. or "ongoing" in the top drawer?
Wi-fi direct is a type of communication between two devices, similar to Bluetooth, so you can send files. I never used this, even when transfering big files from one phone to another, it's better to use an USB OTG cable - the connection speed is lightning fast!
Don't know what you mean about wi-fi sharing. Maybe wi-fi tethering (hotspot) - it's when you share your phone 2G/3G internet connection via wi-fi. This thing is working fine. Wi-fi itself is working, of course.
As for keyboard light: when tested OmniROM, I used liblight solution, but the qwertyled using is simple too: just launch it and you're done. While the service is running, keyboard light will work.
Now I'm on CM 11, and I have 11 days of uptime already, I recommend this ROM (but that's just my taste). In CM 11 keyboard backlights are working from the box, no need for qwertyled.
Also, I looked at the link you posted, to the true-android blog. Please, don't use the guide one can found there, it's awful. You can't install 4.4.2 ROM with recommended 2.6.3.0 TWRP, the correct one is 2.6.3.1 from bubor here, and you don't need any gapps beside included in the ROM.
Better use this guide from stormdude124: [UPDATED][2014][How-to]Everything you need to know and do to your Captivate Glide, it's updated, it's verified and there's no ads!

Can you use a cyanogen mod rom with clockworkmod recovery installed? i remember trying cyanogenmod with my phone and couldnt get it to work.
Just flash TWRP 2.6.3.1 from link above, it's superior to clockworkmod recovery (CWM) in all ways: touch interface, working backups with compression, charging support and it allows to install KitKat roms. With CWM you can install ROMs up to android 4.3, so, you still can install CM 10.1.3 or CM 10.2 with CWM, but not CM 11.
about wifi direct and sharing...

Hey yeah the difference btw wifi direct and sharing is that in wifi direct you connect two devices directly to transfer files...
in wifi sharing you need to host a web adress to share your files
as a result in wifi sharing you host a list of your stuff on a web adress(local) which gets downloaded by other devices on your wifi connection
and a wifi sharing manager can either do this (host ur files using an ip) or my personal favorite is astro which can acess my pc's sharing folder over wifi which is preety awesome>..unlimited storage
also note that in a wifi sharing manager you cannot recieve files easily . . maybe airdroid but it can only run on a pc
wifi sharing apps are airdroid and other file managers like root browser
wifi direct requires specific drivers and libs... i guess.. hence not all devices can do it ..
anyway you should go for cm 11 or omni both are incredibly stable with an occasional hiccup.. which is occasional heh
also would suggest that if you do proceed to install please follow from the developer sources on xda rather than some blog etc

[Q]S4 Mini LTE After Root Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Not Working

Hi Guys, I thought I would make a thread here as i can not seem to be able to find a solution. Rooted my device obviously, everything is fine until I installed a "Kernel" (cant remember author) to overclock mainly then encountered several problems. 1: Wi-Fi has become unstable. It seems to either crash my phone or signal disappears after my phone is on standby for a period of time (variable). 2: My Bluetooth just does not work. At all!! I have not done anything more to my device so the solution (hopefully). I forgot to mention that it is STOCK ROM. I do not wish to wipe my phone clean, i want to find a fix. Possibly a more stable kernel. Overclocking does not want to happen either but the "Governor's, I/O Scheduler's and Underclocking" do work. If there is anything more you guys need to know please ask!!
Looking forward to ideas

It not the root that causing the issue, it the kernel that tried. If I remember correctly there's only two kernel for the S4 mini that allows overclcoking, and one of them has stopped developerment since last year. That leaves the F4k kernel.
He has two different kernels: one for the AOSP/CM (custom) ROM another is also a bit outdated for the default Samsung TouchWiz ROM. Are you sure you've download the correct kernel?

Well to my knowledge I had used the correct kernel....... I never used one from here but I did find a website claiming that F4k has a stock over clocking kernel...... Unfortunately for the life of me I can not find this website. I've managed to overclock with success using a apk. I found on here (performance control) brilliant tool!! Is there any chance you able to post a link to this stock kernel you talk about so I can test myself and report back? Everything else is working without a problem apart from Wi-Fi and bluetooth.

So I've come to a conclusion after many weeks of testing and searching........ Unfortunately the overclock kernel for "TouchWiz" roms is unstable........ looking through forums I can see that F4k has only realised a "test" version....... on the other hand I have found a kernel from Vikinger (if spelt correctly) that's has fixed my issue and is working great... shame it isn't overclocked nor under and has no additional governors..... any one with ideas please feel free to share..... many thanks.

Sprint N910P not working with network - T-mobile, EU - need help

Hello,
I hv a problem with my n910p.
I installed dtuxrom on version 6.0.1 Mashmallow. Everything works ok but I can't use 3G / 3.5G internet. I know that LTE does not work in N4 Sprint e.g. in Europe, but the Internet does not work at all, even 3G. All I can do is call someone or answer calls.
I need help activating the 3G / 3.5G internet function on this phone.
Best Regards,
MN135K0
ust a possibility, but I know that with my n910p in the U.S and Dtux rom with 5DQ15 bootloader and Modem that all of the kernels in the Aroma installer had poor network connectivity. Afte lr a while, I decided to flash the N7 kernel from another updated custom rom and it fixed the network connection issues with my device. I shared this within a few other general posts but none of witch were specifically related to the title itself and It's definitely not something that will easily showup in a general search. At least with the n910p with 6.0MM (N910PVPU5DQ15) in the U.S. its been confirmed to have solved there data issues aswell.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-updated-1-14-2017-t3538051
Best of luck
Thank you for the reply. I installed the N7 rom and everything works fine with data network and rom works in EU.

Hi again! Is it possible to install twrp 3.3 or 3.2 on samsung n910p sprint? I can't find flash confirmation anywhere. I am asking this because I would like to flash rom with Android 9.0 and for this I need twrp 3.2 or higher. When installing the lineage os 16 it is written that rom works on n910p and if during installation error 7 error pops up it is the fault of the old twrp version, the error does not pop up from the twrp 3.2 version and higher. The question now is whether newer twrp for note 4 qualcomm can be flash on n910p?

I believe TWRP 3.3.1-0-trlte is the newest stable version for the Sprint n910p.
