assuming it's the same as standard cm7, you go into wireless settings and enable it

Yes, I know where it is, but it won't work :-/ People can find and connect to the network, but gets "no Internet access".
I am now using Wifi Tether for root users from market, but I like the built in bether

It's working here fine, but then I'm using Rc1 not the modified one, so seems like the winzip dev has broken something with his modding.

Mine doesn't work either, I've try all of the above, different CM versions as new installs v3.3.9 all the way to v3.6.0, different CM versions as up-dates and get nothing…. I can connect to the network but get no internet.
But it works fine with the new CM7 Tweaked CLK version.
And it also works if I use it as a MAGLDR version.
Mind you, this is on an HD2!!!

CM WIFI doesn't work!

EDIT 11-09-2010:
It is done! This one here dated 11th September 2010 is so far the fastest running Port I have made. Indeed it runs like hell on my Diamond. This one is RC2 and close to final. The Base has changed completely. RC1 used Incubus's SuperFroyo-ROM. Now, RC2 is using [email protected]'s SuperFroyo-ROM and has a great Superman-Styled-Theme.
What's working on my Diamond:
WiFi, Data, Bluetooth, Market, Sd-Card, this & that
Notice:
This build has disactivated compcache - but runs fast w/o it! To activate it you may use terminal. If you are kind enough then just play around with swapper2 and let me know what works best for you: Compcache or Swap?
Neopeek's SuperFroyo RC2 Port [CyanogenMod6]
I just installed an xandroid 2.2 rom or build(whatever they call these things) yesterday and ran the haret file to launch into it. If it's no more than unpacking this to your root of your card and clicking the haret file than I can give this a try.........thanks
very fast but wifi don't work.
any good news for the battery draining.................. on touch diamond............. is this android can handle the battery problem

wifi works if I just replaced androidinstall instead of reformated the ext2 partitation. Thanks.
I installed it like you said on your site, but its still booting with WM6... and ive made an fat32 partition an Ext2 Partition and a swap partition... i dont get it
can someone help me out with it ?
everything working fine for me

- market works
- superb speed (i also enabled compcache and JIT!!)
- Also tried it with the latest psfreedom diamond patched file and it works seamlessly (in the first go itself)
The battery and camera are still the issues but i think a kernel update will be reqd for these to get fixed n then we can use this build for everyday use!! Thanks a lot vatoloco!!

Dude this is not a must its more like a ask
1 could u maybe add some pics to this post
2 could you make a exe which can extract all the stuff instead people have todo themself ?
it seems to me nothing more or less responsive than your other rc's.
but quadrant just gave me about 150 to 210 points where i got at least 480 with your latest chrome build.
why???
i can't use SupSetup !!!!!!!

@dk_zero-cool - [ROM] ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.1U2 GSM/CDMA <2012-07-03>

Hi,
sorry for the off-topic but, [ROM] ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.1U2 GSM/CDMA <2012-07-03> -> GREAT ROM
Newbie here but just wanted to thanks dk_zero-cool for this great ROM, and being a newbie I can’t post under his development thread so... thank you dk_zero-cool!
2 Minor Issues (maybe some stupid stuff)
1 - Wireless problem:
I couldn’t connect to my home's wifi... every time I wanted to connect I had to reboot the phone in recovery, wipe dalvik cache and then it could connect. After a couple of hours (wifi switched off) I couldn’t connect again when I turned wifi on.
I went to my router config, fixed the channels from Auto to 11, and that did the trick! Now it connects every time and it works perfectly.
2 - Slow ICS with mount2sd enabled and a Class4 SD Card:
First time I installed the ROM it was so so slow... Then I realized I installed it with mount2sd script enabled, and my SD is a Class4 SD Card. Installed the same ROM again, without mount2SD, and it ran perfectly. Installed Link2SD afterwards, moved all the Apps I could to the EXT3 partition, and now I have 75MB free on my internal storage and the phone works great and fast.
Thanks and sorry for the off topic!
Cheers
Thanks dk_zero-cool!

Great idea, having the same problem. Thanks, dk_zero-cool, fantastic work. Unfortunately I still see rare reboots I had with CM7.2. /proc/last_kmsg doesn't contain any clues though. On CM7 there was typically the dreades "ARM9 has crashed" message indicating a radio crash. Here I saw nothing, just some random battery loading stats.
same here
I am eager to try out SpazeDog but download is really slow I wonder why we don't use Torrent to get the load off the servers?

prague was the nearest mirror but it was still slow, but my connection speed isn't great anyway, downloadspeed fluctuated very much, but after all it finished
and JB spazedog is awesome! Had a little trouble installing it with changing hboot etc and fixing wifi and all that but now it is just plain great and I am very excited that I still can use my beloved desire, but not just that, but also that my old desire is even more up to date than a lot of newer phones out there.
I really have to donate somewhere!
very cool.

Evervolv KK 4.4 on HTC Desire

I have tried the Kitkat ROM of Evervolv and I want to report my experience.
You can find the ROM here:
http://nikez.nu/Download.php?getFile=dlc/ev_bravo-4.0.0p2-turba.zip
I found the ROM very reliable. No crash no reboot no SOD. There are 2 main bug:
1) The hotspot doesn't work.
To fix this problem is sufficient to replace the file hostapd and hostapd_cli with those in this ZIP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2434441&d=1386246859
as reported here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48161953&postcount=128
2) The browser has flickering screen. You can disable it from Settings->Apps->All->Browser and try another browser. I use Opera because is lightweight and usable. Try it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.browser
Without a2sd the system is very fast and fluent. If you want to use it would suggest to use at least a Class 10 sd card otherwise the app loading and even the screen unlock can take more than 5 seconds.
If you want to install a2sd DO NOT put the dalvik cache on the sd card unless you have a very fast sd card. Otherwise this will slow down your phone. I've installed 15 / 20 app and I have about 30 MB left on the internal storage, so I think this is enough. To install app data only to sd card install the script in this way:
a2sd install
N
Y
Y
There is a feature that i liked of the previous Evervolv JB and was the home screen rotation. In this ROM there isn't such feature. In my opinion is very frustrating to have the screen rotated back to the portrait mode when in landscape mode i press the home key. To enable home screen rotation I installed Nova Launcher app and enabled screen rotation by: Nova Settings -> Look and feel -> Screen Orientation -> Auto Rotate
Thank you again to the Evervolv Team.
It's 2 week that I installed this ROM and still no problems.
The olny thing I noticed sometime is a delay in the screen power on when you want to hang up a call. The screen remains black for 3-4 seconds and then if you press the power button again it work. I think this could depend on the number of the apps opened on the phone indeed this doesn't happen every time.
VPN - Another Kitkat bug with evervolv?
Hi,
currently I'm running the ev nightly-2013-12-15. Since yesterday I tried to activate a VPN connection into my home lan (connected with an AVM Router). It does NOT work. While the "internal" VPN Software does not tell me some interesting information a second try with VPNCilla shows:
--- cut here ---
Error on establish:
command '693 interface fwmark rule add tun0'
failed with '400 693 Failed to add fwmark rule (File exists)'
Possible reason: invalid server parameter or TUN device unavailable
---cut here ---
With this error message I find in google some information about a VPN problem in 4.4. BUT: my wife's brand new nexus 5 with Kitkat connects without trouble immediately with the same login data.
So what's the problem with ev here?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
I have never tested VPN with android though I had problems getting hotspot to work. I had to substitute the hostapd and hostapd_cli file to fix the problem (I posted how to achieve it in the previous post).
Have you tried the turba release ? Maybe the problem is related to a nightly bug.
However It is true that the Nexus 5 has a 4.4 too but the kernel version is different. The evervolv version run with the 2.6.37 kernel version because probably the driver (or kernel modules) of the HTC desire are not available for the new kernel version 3.x.x that is the version used for Nexus 5 and other official release.
So different hardware and software can lead to different behavior of the software.
The only thing that come into my mind is to try with a shell (adb shell) to manually create a VPN connection to see what specific errors are showed up.
I think this is a great rom, which runs very smoothly.
I have currently installed the ev_bravo-nightly-2014.01.22-squished.zip from yesterday on my desire.
But I have a problem using Wifi connection. At first it worked, but now Wifi wont turn on. It also says MAC-Adress is unavailable. What I have done was to delete the app2sd script from init.d and to install Int2ExtV2 (runs perfectly). I don't know if this can cause the interference? I have not made any other changes.
It would be great if anybody knew, how to fix it.
I have not tried connecting to a VPN so far.

Hi,
I'm running Nikez's 4.0.0p2 version and it's great! No JB rom is such stable and fast. For me, there are no bugs, but I don't use hotspot feature. Is it worth to upgrade to nightly versions? I'll maybe wait until Nikez releases next version with stable 3.0 kernel .
Do MMS work?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
I haven't already tried the new nightly but I guess that it is not as stable as the 4.0.0p2. I prefer stable ROMs because I use my Desire daily. This is the most stable and faster ROM I found among Evervolv ROMs. So I would suggest you to keep the 4.0.0p2 unless you have a blocking problem with this ROM.

For quimbexa :
I've tried two times but the screen only show "SENDING...". I waited for 2 hour and then i deleted the messages. So this feature could be buggy.
Why do you need this feature ? Using whatsapp or similar app it's faster and cheapest than using MMS today.

Android 4.4.2 Omnirom

I read about an omnirom available for our captivate glides running 4.4.2
Anyone tried running this yet? How stable is it?
I found the link here: http://true-android.blogspot.ca/2014/03/update-samsung-captivate-glide-sgh-i927.html
I also dont know, for any rom that has separate gapps, when would you flash those? After or before the new rom? at the same time? Like, if after a ROM flash it automatically reboots, it will boot up with no gapps and likely not run - correct?
Was just curious about how buggy it is. Even if down the road when things are smoother, im excited to see if i can get this one running!

Gapps is included. You must install rom zip first, because it formats system partition.
Official gapps doesnt compatible with our phone, I think its better not installing.

I am using omni ROM . . somehow I find it less buggy than cm 11
Nevertheless I would wanna give my thanks and even though I am pointing out bugs . . I really do appreciate his work .. A lot
Omnirom is very very stable has all if not most of the theming features except for trebuchet launcher
//It is a bit more battery consuming but I like it cause I am able to run my processor at 1.4ghz which is sweeeet!!!
//It has issues with OK Google functionality the audio is lagged and irritating
//The Google experience launcher is not built for it
//It has issues with Google maps 7 but there is a fix to have 6th version to back you up when needed
//it has issues with Skype and the fix is work in progress I guess..
//GPs is a bit slow but works
//WiFi direct crashes for me
Once in a blue moon the phone might rebot itself cause of a crash..
Though considering WiFi tethering , 3g switching, link2sd ,memory swapping
Ksm everything is working really try it . . its an amazing experience from an amazing phone
Can someone tell me the difference between wifi direct, wifi sharing, and wifi sharing manager??
Wifi itself is working in 4.4.2 right?
Also, were your keyboard backlights working automatically or did you ened qwerty led?
is qwerty led something that needs to be running all the time. or "ongoing" in the top drawer?
Wi-fi direct is a type of communication between two devices, similar to Bluetooth, so you can send files. I never used this, even when transfering big files from one phone to another, it's better to use an USB OTG cable - the connection speed is lightning fast!
Don't know what you mean about wi-fi sharing. Maybe wi-fi tethering (hotspot) - it's when you share your phone 2G/3G internet connection via wi-fi. This thing is working fine. Wi-fi itself is working, of course.
As for keyboard light: when tested OmniROM, I used liblight solution, but the qwertyled using is simple too: just launch it and you're done. While the service is running, keyboard light will work.
Now I'm on CM 11, and I have 11 days of uptime already, I recommend this ROM (but that's just my taste). In CM 11 keyboard backlights are working from the box, no need for qwertyled.
Also, I looked at the link you posted, to the true-android blog. Please, don't use the guide one can found there, it's awful. You can't install 4.4.2 ROM with recommended 2.6.3.0 TWRP, the correct one is 2.6.3.1 from bubor here, and you don't need any gapps beside included in the ROM.
Better use this guide from stormdude124: [UPDATED][2014][How-to]Everything you need to know and do to your Captivate Glide, it's updated, it's verified and there's no ads!

Can you use a cyanogen mod rom with clockworkmod recovery installed? i remember trying cyanogenmod with my phone and couldnt get it to work.
Just flash TWRP 2.6.3.1 from link above, it's superior to clockworkmod recovery (CWM) in all ways: touch interface, working backups with compression, charging support and it allows to install KitKat roms. With CWM you can install ROMs up to android 4.3, so, you still can install CM 10.1.3 or CM 10.2 with CWM, but not CM 11.

Hey yeah the difference btw wifi direct and sharing is that in wifi direct you connect two devices directly to transfer files...
in wifi sharing you need to host a web adress to share your files
as a result in wifi sharing you host a list of your stuff on a web adress(local) which gets downloaded by other devices on your wifi connection
and a wifi sharing manager can either do this (host ur files using an ip) or my personal favorite is astro which can acess my pc's sharing folder over wifi which is preety awesome>..unlimited storage
also note that in a wifi sharing manager you cannot recieve files easily . . maybe airdroid but it can only run on a pc
wifi sharing apps are airdroid and other file managers like root browser
wifi direct requires specific drivers and libs... i guess.. hence not all devices can do it ..
anyway you should go for cm 11 or omni both are incredibly stable with an occasional hiccup.. which is occasional heh
also would suggest that if you do proceed to install please follow from the developer sources on xda rather than some blog etc

[Q] problem with wifi 802.1.x

Hello all,
since i quitted the official ROM for cyanogen (10.2 and then 11, the version of ace2nutzer 20141118 with his kernel of 20141212), it is impossible for me to connect to a wifi 802.1.x. THis system is used in enterprises and universities. In particular, as i work in a university, i need to connect to the eduroam network which exists all over the world (eduroam.org). I tried all the tricks found with google but none of them worked (mainly modifying the wpa_supplicant and wpa_supplicant.conf files) .
It used to work with the official ROM but impossible now.
Can you connect to such networks ?
Thank you for your help

I actaully can't try it, BUT @ace2nutzer offers a really awesome and active support for his kernel
BTW
Have you tried the a newer kernel version? 20150311 should be the latest Why can't you go back to the official rom?
