Hey guys, was just wondering if you guys think this is good battery life? I'm still thinking about returning my Samsung galaxy tab s att LTE version. I'm sitting at 4 percent battery right now.

I bought this tablet primarily for playing static video files on the SD card. I see battery drain of 10% an hour when playing a 720p video in MX Player, which is fine with me since 10 hours of video play time is plenty. However, battery drains much faster if I do something else, like web browsing. I think this tablet has about enough battery to last five hours when doing things other than video. I think Samsung probably dropped the ball here, but you have to remember that a tablet with a large high resolution screen will not have the best battery life. If you return this tablet, maybe take a look at Nexus 9.

People like to blame the screen but that's not it IMO. I've had the erratic battery life sent it to Samsung and had it worse when I got it back. I changed out the battery with an after market one and I have fantastic life now. I get 7-8 hrs sot now. I watch the battery meter now and it seems like it takes a half an hour to change under continuous use. Changing the otg cable, reconnecting battery cable or changing out the battery has fixed the battery issues
Moto X 2014
IronRom 1.9.5, skyhigh 3.2 kernel.
No voltage or cpu clock change, gpu max freq 600.
SOT of 8hrs 9min till 5%. Includes about an hour of game of thrones and heavy Web surfing.
That's pretty good battery life. I traded in my AT&T LTE version for the 800 Wi-Fi version. if battery life doesn't get better, I can at least root this one.
I get 7 to 9 hours of screen on time
I hope this worked, I traded in my LTE version for the Wi-Fi version and my battery life is much better, 3 and a half days with 7h 45m on screen time and I'm sitting at 3 percent.

A single screen shot shows us absolutely NOTHING about battery life.
Your battery is also almost full...
Use the phone a full day 100% to 5%, then screenshot your overview, graph, screen on, awake, and signal times. THEN we'll be able to tell.

My first day was like this after charging it for the first time when immediately opened it. I found my brightness to be all the way up by default and set it to auto, substantially improving my battery life.

Still means absolutely nothing. Use it 100% to 5% and then report your usage.
I'm using liquidsmooth 1.3, just got this...is this on par or could I be doing better? Didn't browse the web much though, only lurked around xda cos I noticed chrome really sucks the juice

battery life is definitely improved on 4.0.4 , i'm getting between 45min-1hr more screen ON time (mostly surfing and reading xda) than on 4.0.2
i use live wallpaper and autobrightness, wifi always ON, everything stock with no tweaks, stock 1750mAh battery
Can you also post the battery voltage when you almost depleted your battery?
It can let us to see if the battery is correctly calibrated to show the proper percentage value. I encountered up to 1 hour different in screen on time with a non calibrated GN.
To know your voltage, dial *#*#4636#*#* (*#*#info#*#*) (no need press call).
Go to battery info and see the battery voltage value.
The galaxy nexus will always get awful battery. I have never gotten over 2.5h screen time and.I have tried every rom, literally. I can't really get over 14h stanbdy either.
I can verify I seem to have better battery life after the 4.04 update.
This is a question for the new owners of the galaxy note 2. Have you noted the "screen-on" time for battery to go from fully charged to drop dead? One of the biggest problem with the Super AMOLED devices is the (relatively) abysmal battery life when web browsing as they do quite well when playing video. Let's say if you were to primarily browse the web on the device how much screen-on time would you get?

Sorry! I don't believe Note 2 can do like that. How about your heavy meaning?
On my original Note1, I got 4 hours max of screen-on time while browsing/facebooking.
Hopefully the note2 will be an improvement over that!
I got my Note 2 today, brand new and box-fresh. At 09:30 this morning I fired it up and it had 55% battery, so I logged into my Google account, did what you do with a new Android smartphone, downloaded a bunch of Apps, really put it under some heavy load, made a few calls, SMS, plenty of multi-tasking etc. At 15:30 it was showing 6% battery life including 2h50m of screen time.
For a fresh battery and heavy use, I think that's pretty good going.
My stats at this moment:

And this one from yesterday:
Brightness 60% and power save mode (both)
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
So about 6 hours of screen on time per full charge. Not bad, actually, its about a 50% improvement over the 4 hours of the note1.
I might still consider investing in an extra battery for those long days...

thats odd as phone arena tried a battery test and found they would get around 9 hours continous video playback at full brightness and they say with half brightness they would come close to razor maxx at 14 hours screen time?
but still ill wait till others have tested it properly
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-vs-Galaxy-Note_id3136/page/4
Video playback doesn't consume much battery on AMOLEDs, web browsing is more battery-consuming due to white backgrounds. Also, phone Arena said clearly that the phone was on airplane mode.

very good battery life... for almost 2 days (I used S3, S2 before and this is a very good phone)
The mains adaptor that comes as standard with the Note II has a 5 Volt 2 Amp output that should be good at charging the battery as many existing power supplies are 1 Amp or less.
If you plan on using a car adaptor, don't buy a cheap low current one - most are only 500mAh or 750mAh.
looks like battery looking good so far from you guys..i say give it a week of cycles. still needs braking in...does the back get really warm when charging? is charge time fast?
After few more cycles the battery life is just CRAZY
And I wasn't even using battery-saver mode !

Just found that:
Set to playing a video file at full screen, with Wi-Fi and 3G switched off (this is out standard test for tablet battery life) and screen brightness set to 50 per cent, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 lasted for just under 12 hours.

Maybe you should buy the extended battery kit?

try flashing different kernels and see which one suits u the best.every phone is different.u may also wanna underclock and undervolt. also change the rom may b if changing kernel doesnot work.ine suggestion.XenonHD rom with its stock kernel.
The stock battery is a joke at 1800 and the extended is 2100...I had both and both sucked although the 2100 was a lil better. I have the 3800 Seiko battery now and that will last me all day. Makes the phone thicker but its better then charging all day and worrying about what's killing your battery.

Turn off features when not being used like data NFC GPS.
Also avoid auto task killers
How much does it drain in one hour? Battery drain depends on many factors. The mains ones would be what kernel and ROM you are running as well as what "features" you have turned on. For example I am running CM10.1 with the stock CM kernel and I usually get around 16-18 hours of battery life with 1.5-2 hours of screen time.. that is with all of the features (gps, NFC, etc.) turned OFF.

How on earth can you drain a 3800mAh battery in one day? Nonstop internet radio AND 3d gaming on full display brightness?
I am currently using PA rom with franco kernel. Normal day = roughly 13-15 hours ish.
By normal day I mean around 30 minutes of talk time, about 1 hour ish web browsing and like what, 30 minutes ish of youtube? Of course, sometimes I am free and end up playing games on it for couple hours lol, but the stock battery seems to be plenty enough to me.
My battery makes it about 15-17 hours, with about 1 hour gaming,1 hour browsing and talk time around 1,5 hours...Xylon + Purity Kernel!
It is what it is. This is Wi-Fi only on this charge:

Turn data off when not using it. You can download a widget for that.
Keep screen brightness down low.
If rooted use setcpu and choose a screen off profile of 350mhz maximum - I find this a real benefit.
Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the OnePlus X's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

I am currently on fully stock 2.2.0.x ROM. Went back to stock because CM13 battery was bad but stock isn't much better. Maybe 10 minute more SOT but it sucks in that some apps push notifications don't come through on time. e.g. WhatsApp.
1 SIM
No facebook or any other social network APP
Only 1 exchange account for email and 1 google account for app download only no Gmail Sync
Signal is a bit weak where I am, it seems the signal does impact the Oneplux X a lot? Other phones didn't drain this bad.
About 15-20 hours use with 5hrs SOT. This is on WiFi, 4G would be a little less but still good.
CM13 nightlies with Blu Spark kernel, -50 undervolt and slight kernel auditor tweaks.

im using cm13 by ashwin007 and the blu spark beta version kernel for cm .
the battery drops are huge while im on wifi and the phone heats a lot.
i used snapchat for like 30 mins or so and the battery dropped from 80 to 40 percent and heats.
and even while using clash of clans it dropped like nearly 10 percent for around 10 mins!
can u suggest somthing to fix this ?
and the battery stats dont really show much on what consumes so much of battery!!
really sorry if thats a noob question.
Thank you!

I find that it depends on whether I'm using WiFi or mobile data...fully charged the phone before bed last night and 6.5 hours later it had dropped 3% mainly due to Google.gms wakelocks.
SOT is very subjective...when you say the other person got 6 hours with heavy use...doing what...playing a couple intensive 3d game or web browsing...with what level of screen brightness etc...far too many variables... however i could quite comfortably expect between 4 and 5 hours SOT based on my own personal usage

Okay, thanks.
My real question is, how is battery life compared to stock? Some people have had 9 hours of SOT and that was sure as hell not possible on the stock rom. I was mainly browsing all day on wifi and always got 4-5 hours of sot. 50% brightness. How about you, do you feel any difference batterywise? Is any other rom better for battery life?
(Currently on sultan on my opo and the difference in battery life is from 2-3hours of sot to 4-5 hours of sot)

battery life is going to be about the same as stock b/c there are not modifications, it just depends what apps u remove that wont run in the backgorund, u can download a custom kernel and lower the cpu to reduce heat and get better battery life, mine is doing pretty good right now
on pace for about 6+ hour OST and just normal usage and browsing some with location on too.
