i have obtained the root acces for my tab for 5 months but yesterday i was about to backup apps to reflash the stock software
when i didn't find the root acces , i don't know how it gone
bujt the problem is i when i flash the SU.ZIP by TWRP recovery i got nothing i flashed 3 SU.ZIP'S but no root
anyone know what to do wether to backup up games data or REroot the device again ?

@khaledreno download helium by carbon, they works without root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en
https://www.clockworkmod.com/carbon
install both of them on your tab 3 and pc,and then connect your tab 3 to pc and then open up the desktop app Helium Desktop. This will allow you to backup your app. You can even back up your game data so that you can have em next time.
I think you better flash it after you done with backing up. Note: Upgrading firmware via ota or kies will remove your root access.

[Q] Flashed 4.2 Rom with wrong CWM

Galaxy Nexus (Sprint)
Ok, I screwed up and flashed CM10.1 using CWM 6.0.1.5. I didn't even think to update cwm. So now a bunch of apps won't work (facebook, gvoice, etc). Rom manager crashes as well, so I can't use it to update the recovery.
So, I tried to restore my nandroid and then update cwm and reflash 10.1.. but cwm says no files found when I try to restore. I've read other threads that say " You can use root explorer to cut and merge your files and folders to the root of the internal sd and see if that works".
I don't have root explorer, but I've tried a few other file explorer's and none of them can write to the root.. or least I'm not doing it right.
Do I need to just pony up and buy root explorer. I'm fine with that, just don't want to waste the money if that won't allow me to write to the root either.
Fastboot flash the new recovery then revert to your nanddroid. Then flash a 4.2 rom with the proper recovery.

I also flashed CM10.1 with CWM 6.0.1.5,no problems so far.
I did like this:
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly from here:http://get.cm/?device=maguro&type=nightly
Flash Google Apps from here:http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip
Reboot.
Got it working

Using this it worked, thanks.
I was able to flash the newest CWM 6.0.2.3 via fastboot, but it wouldn't restore anything. So the factory reset worked great.

[Q] How to update rooted Galaxy Note 2 while keeping all installed apps

Hello.
If I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that is rooted and have CWM and have some apps installed on it, How can I update it's official firmware while keeping it rooted and keeping all of my apps the way it was before?
Sorry if question is easy or repetitive. I couldn't find the answer.
Thank you.
rooting or unrooting doesn't modify your apps, but if you're worried, while you're still rooted, I would backup all your apps using Titanium Backup. Then if something does happen you can restore it back. That is of course, once you unroot, update, and reroot again.
Download full rom here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SGH-T889&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware then use mobile odin to install it, injecting root at the same time.
I have no problem retaining ALL data after updated with Kies. Regaining root is no sweat as well.
But remember to use Triangle Away to reset flash counter.

I would like to try doing this will mobile odin. Could you provide a little more detail. Did you put file the internal sdcard? Also did you do a wipe of any partition? Does wiping data and cache option also wipe internal sdcard.
Thanks!
In mobile odin you have the option of wiping dalvik and cache, it wont wipe anything else. I had an external sd card that I always put it on. Very easy to do and it works perfectly. Just make sure you check mark to install ever root, super su and mobile odin.
used mobile odin pro

Used mobile odin pro. Worked like a charm! Recovered root, all downloaded apps and settings were intact via Titanium Backup. One thing, if you want to restore the state of a rom specific app (like the calendar), Titanium will warn you that you could have errors because you have a different rom. For this case I restored data and then calander showed all appointments so good to go here. Also, I had used the xposed installer to modify multiview such that I could run all apps in multiview. Worked fine with this rom. One curious thing, if I now check for device software updates I no longer get the message that my device is "modified" and am ineligible for updates. This is nice! had thought that you couldn't avoid this even if you used triangle away. Thanks again!
How do I re-root my Tmo Note 2 using heimdall? I was rooted, then updated to 4.3 via Kies. I lost root, and do not know if I am supposed to follow the same steps when I rooted my Note 2 while it was running 4.1.2. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unable to apply latest OTA Stock Update (or re-root now)

I've run into an issue that thus far I have been completely unable to resolve. I usually run Cyanogen Mod or other Custom ROM but decided to stick with stock on this one (I'm regretting it now). I am on Stock 4.1.2, Build JZ054K and previously had it rooted. I performed the un-root from within SuperSU so that I could apply the latest OTA, but the update still fails saying that my phone is suspected of rooting. At this point I decided to just re-root, stick Clockwork recovery on and move to Cyanogen Mod but so far every root method I've tried has failed.
Right now I am unable to OTA upgrade because it thinks it's still rooted and I can't re-root for some reason. I can't get a good Titanium Backup to save all of my data since it's not rooted and I have about exhausted my options and was about to do a factory reset when I thought about seeing if someone might have any ideas I could try.
Here are my re-root attempts (I've used every method I could find): I decided to boot into one of my Windows partitions instead of Linux since most of the root methods were windows based and with the E980-Universal-Root attempt: it found the device attached in Charge Mode, I then changed it to MTP and hit Enter (after waiting a few minutes as recommended in a number of the threads), then it it displays "adbd cannot run as root in production builds" and fails. I then tried the ZV9-ZVB-Root method (it looks like it's the same as the Universal Root and it gave the same error also). Then I attempted the motochopper method: it found the device, pushed the exploit successfully, pushed root tools successfully said it was rooting the phone then it stated [-] Failure and performed cleanup.
I'm not sure where to go from here, so I was hoping that some of the experts here could point me in a direction to go before I have to wipe it and lose my data since I can't even perform a Titanium Backup now.
I've been trying other backup methods but haven't found one that will give me a good backup like Titanium (saving the apps and data). If I can't get it rooted, does anyone know of a backup method that I could use to save the individual apps and data? Then I can just do a factory reset, root and move to a custom recovery and ROM like I really should have done at the beginning.
Thanks for any help at all, it is much appreciated!!
Check out the app called Helium (made by the same developer as clockworkmod and Rom manager and was formerly called Carbon). It should allow you to backup without root.
Also, look up the root method called towel root if you haven't yet. It will be an app that you install and it roots from there. I used it to root the latest update.

Many thanks!! I hadn't run across towel root, I'll do some searching and find it and give it a try. I had just looked at Helium earlier today, that might just save me a huge hassle if towel root doesn't work!
Thanks again!!
Thank-You CapnPez!
TowelRoot worked fine, I can now update my Titanium Backups and move to CM...
Many Thanks! I appreciate the recommendation!!

[Q] Backup System?

Hello
I'm relatively new to Android an have never done any rooting or flashing custom ROMs. I'm looking for something where I can fully back up my device with the system so in case something goes wrong I still have my original ROM. When I searched for ways to backup Android I found lots of ways where you can backup your media but none where the actual OS is missing. All I want to prevent is basically ending up with no OS at all, how can I make sure.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 SM-T700, Touchwiz, unrooted
Well if anything does go wrong you can download your firmware for your device and flash it with Odin on your PC but putting your tab s into download mode. Also to backup your ROM as it is, you would have to install twrp for your device. To find out how search it on google on how to install it on your device with the right model of your device. After you installed twrp, boot into twrp recovery and hit backup and check each box you would like backup. Then slide the slider and it should backup everything. I can tell you how to install twrp recovery and I'm not sure if it requires root. Hope this helps. And the downloadable Roms are on sammobile

[Q] Nexus won't upgrade to 5.0.2 using System Update

My Nexus 7 (2013) Wifi+3G tablet has had a notification for me to update to 5.0.2 from 4.4.3 for several months now, and I've tried to upgrade it for quite a while....but it won't allow me to do it. It does have root, using TWRP as my recovery, but that's all I've done to it.
In fact, when it does the reboot, it comes up with this:
Does anyone know why it does this? How I can fix this, short of manually sideloading 5.0.2?
Because you are rooted there is no way to OTA update. You can manually flash Android 5.1.1 factory image using Nexus Root Toolkit on your PC but because you are on KitKat and want to flash Lollipop, it is necessary to completely wipe your device when flashing a new factory image to avoid all software problems . My advice before doing that is to copy all important files from your device storage to your PC. Also backup the apps you want using Titanium Backup and copy its folder to your PC as well. The use Nexus Root Toolkit to flash the 5.1.1 factory image. After it has done that, you can also use it to Root and flash TWRP.
Same boat...no paddle!
I am in the same boat...kitkat and newly rooted...love ability to boost the VOLUME! Would love to OTA to 5.1.1 but 5.02 is stuck in the chamber and, from what you say, wouldn't update anyway! I'm comfortable on PC but making changes on Nex7 gives me the shakes!
So in order to get 5.1.1 and re-root (?) I need to do the following:
1) "My advice before doing that is to copy all important files from your device storage to your PC."
Please give specific directions on how to do this and what "important files" I'd wanna copy to PC.
2) "Also backup the apps you want using Titanium Backup and copy its folder to your PC as well."
I downloaded Titanium but have yet to utilize. OK to backup ALL my apps or are most sitting on Google Play anyway? How to decide?
3) "Then use Nexus Root Toolkit to flash the 5.1.1 factory image."
Pretty self explanatory, I guess...
4) "After it has done that, you can also use it to Root and flash TWRP."
Confused here...by "root" do I go use something in the toolkit? Also use it to "flash" TWRP again?
5) Then when do I restore my apps and files from my PC?
Your patience is greatly appreciated.
