Some might correct me by telling me that this threat already exist in our forum , but i created this topic to ask if there is any farther news about the stock camera apk for the g3.. Im checking the forum every 2-3 days for that spesific thing. I have read that some Developers are working on it. Its pretty unfair , i mean for the LG g2 they already made it.. I got my g3 2 months ago and im tired of trying different roms . So far i have treid gloudy, crash rom and few others based on stock but still ..I twould be freaking awesome if someone made this awesome job by puting the lg stock camera apk for aosp rom like Cyanogenmod etc.. :/ Dont flame me if that thread already exist..

Its not as simple as you think, the stock LG Camera app will never work on AOSP and Cyanogen based roms because the app requires lg libraries and sources, LG havent released sources so its impossible to have a fully work Stock camera, theres a thread in android development, you can go follow that, but its strictly for developers so dont post anything if you dont know what you're talking about technically.
I'm using stock camera on 5.1.1 aosp/CM G3 d850, some guy posted the apk in a thread for a ROM and the mod took it down
Is it just me or does that look nothing like the stock camera?

Ok cool, works better than aosp or Google for me. Thanks for the clarification
Well, pretty sure many users are staying with the stock based roms because of camera. So am I. I've tried stock G2, Jinshu htc port, and lenovo port but nothing came close to the stock in terms of the picture quality.... With android M coming, probably I will re-try those AOSP cameras again...

This seems to be the most commonly askes question in all the ICS and JB threads. If you search through the Desire HD development forums (fora???) you'll see evry single ROM with ICS and JB has camera issues of one kind or another. Some of them have a semi-working camera, some can record video without sound, but up til now, none at all work completely. There is also an issue as to which camera chip is in your phone, different regions/countries/networks seem to have different cameras, and I haven't yet seen anyone post a definitive guide to what is where, and what works with each ROM. All I can suggest is read all the posts in the ICS dev threads, make a backup of your current ROM and flash away until you find the one that works best for you. A lot of people are hopeful that the newer Jellybean ROMS will be fully functional shortly, but for now, if a working camera is a must, stick to Gingerbread and use an ICS theme with a launcher like ADW or GO.

i've tried a number of roms in the past few days.. one didnt have camera support, another didnt have google voice search.. spent hours on customizing, resetting, flashing, re-flashing, re-re-flashing...
does anyone have a first-hand experience with a rom that supports ALL device hardware (intl Note II - GT-N7100).
thanks.
This Rom is good and all work perfectly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925402
i was hoping for 4.2.2..
sorry i didnt mention that.
Could you be more specific? Everything works fine on my device.. Camera support - you mean the touchwiz camera? You can't get that on aosp roms. Otherwise they should come with stock camera. Have you flashed the gapps package to get the google voice and other google apps?
switched roms...
i loved the previous one (slimroms.net) but after spending hours on it, i couldn't get the camera to work.
the current one i use (AOKP) works great, other then voice search in Google now.
i've installed the additional package that its supposedly requires but still no go. i can live without voice search (unlike camera) until KLP comes out.. now i just have to figure out why the ability to install APK's went away... it used to work on this rom but something happened. the "install" option is there but its unresponsive.

Do some reading. I don't think you really know what you're doing.
Omega stock based rom will tide you over until you know what you're flashing.
wrong attitude...
so, just because i dont spend my days and nights installing new roms, it means i dont know what i'm doing..?
i dont claim to be an expert, but it seems that battling with hardware issues is something that even long time power users are sometimes having problems with... at least i spent some time researching and experimenting with my device before coming here asking for help.
talking down to people will not make you popular dude.

So why don`t you use stock rom with root? Or try Android Revolution HD, it is close to stock and fast as a bullet with great batterylife and all features are functional.
Depends dude. You got 2 ways to go at it, it's either cyanogen Rom s or stock based Rom. As far as I know the latest cm10.1 all have issues with the camera. So stick with stock based rooms, I would suggest using Alliance Rom 2.0 as I've been using there roms and haven't had any issues. The way I see it there are no bugs, only room for improvements.

I really love the stock camera app that is pre installed on the Find 7. I did find it sad that once I tried installing a new ROM like AOSP or Cyanogenmod, I lost the camera app with special features. Features as 120 FPS or GIF Animation etc are all gone. Is there a way to return the app back to such ROM or is there a similiar app that does the same kind of tricks?
Normally stock cameras won't work on any custom roms, there's dependencies and blobs from stock that would need to be ported over, It would be awesome if someone would be able to do this, the stock camera app was pretty sweet.
I would love to have this feature, I like the Google camera app, but it's nowhere near as powerful as the colorOS one.
Subscribed to this thread... Simply to expect some very kind developer would be kind enough to port Oppo Stock Camera App to be able to run on AOSP custom ROM or on CM12 with Lollipop...

German but they write it gave the camera app. You must download the file and install first CommonCamera2.apk and then OppoCamera2.apk.
I have not test it.

Almost impossible to work it out for AOSP.
Sent from my FIND7 using XDA Free mobile app
Exactly the reason why am not flashing other ROMs as the camera feature is important as it is being used for work and leasure. I tried so many ROMs since my S2 days, however, after weeks of experiencing the Camera of the Find7a, and comparing it with CM and other android , the Oppo version really nailed it for me. Have you tried the super macro? Lately, this was included in the COS V2.0.5Beta.
You can try this now on AOSP builds, it works on my Find7a CM12 as the OnePlus One is a "hardware copy" of our Find 7!

My situation is, I can take using ultrahd but when I look at the picture size, it was only 3-5 mb max which to me that it's not working , on colour os rom, it was usually around 9mb. And the picture itself is much sharper. For the slow shutter, it can go up to 30+seconds,but in reality it's only around 2 seconds. The picture end up really dark.
oh yeah, the mod and plugins need an update to suppor the new cm/oppo camera blobs including it's HAL for it to work on newer roms

50mp/clear image/ultra HD doesn't work
Tried on many roms that support lvm, the closest to working 100% is omni rom, but still 50mp/clear image/ultra HD, doesn't work, but slow shutter wonderfully.
Where to find stock LG camera app for non-LG ROMs, which has lots of features?
Namely, I have installed Cyanogen 5.1, need help.
Thanks.
There isn't a version. The stock camera will only work on stock ROMs.

Thanks,
SO whats gonna be the next best thing? I'm using stock google camera app but missing instant HDR and it seeme like picture quality (in terms of color balances) is not that great and camera is much slower.
I might be wrong, but there IS an LG camera app for cm based roms. You still don't have the great image quality, since the drivers are closed source. But you do get the camera software. I don't remember on which ROM thread the app is located, but I would start on the CM13 and CM12 threads.

Noting in CM13 thread, but is pointless as you get worse pictures than using any normal cagers app.

It doesn't work on the g4 snap camera v3. In the older version it works but pics won't get saved with flash.
That's because it's closed source.
Follow the thread, maybe codeworkx will find a solution.
It's all fixed now

the camera doesnt matter if you mean quality pictures. it doesnt matter what matters is the Lg framework missing on aops or cm roms. so NO. you either want great camera use stock. want faster rom goo battery use aosp.
so LG framework is the issue here cant use it on aosp or cm.
