I really love the stock camera app that is pre installed on the Find 7. I did find it sad that once I tried installing a new ROM like AOSP or Cyanogenmod, I lost the camera app with special features. Features as 120 FPS or GIF Animation etc are all gone. Is there a way to return the app back to such ROM or is there a similiar app that does the same kind of tricks?
Normally stock cameras won't work on any custom roms, there's dependencies and blobs from stock that would need to be ported over, It would be awesome if someone would be able to do this, the stock camera app was pretty sweet.
I would love to have this feature, I like the Google camera app, but it's nowhere near as powerful as the colorOS one.
Subscribed to this thread... Simply to expect some very kind developer would be kind enough to port Oppo Stock Camera App to be able to run on AOSP custom ROM or on CM12 with Lollipop...

German but they write it gave the camera app. You must download the file and install first CommonCamera2.apk and then OppoCamera2.apk.
I have not test it.

Only works with ColorOS.
A damn shame.

Almost impossible to work it out for AOSP.

Exactly the reason why am not flashing other ROMs as the camera feature is important as it is being used for work and leasure. I tried so many ROMs since my S2 days, however, after weeks of experiencing the Camera of the Find7a, and comparing it with CM and other android , the Oppo version really nailed it for me. Have you tried the super macro? Lately, this was included in the COS V2.0.5Beta.
You can try this now on AOSP builds, it works on my Find7a CM12 as the OnePlus One is a "hardware copy" of our Find 7!

My situation is, I can take using ultrahd but when I look at the picture size, it was only 3-5 mb max which to me that it's not working , on colour os rom, it was usually around 9mb. And the picture itself is much sharper. For the slow shutter, it can go up to 30+seconds,but in reality it's only around 2 seconds. The picture end up really dark.
oh yeah, the mod and plugins need an update to suppor the new cm/oppo camera blobs including it's HAL for it to work on newer roms

50mp/clear image/ultra HD doesn't work
Tried on many roms that support lvm, the closest to working 100% is omni rom, but still 50mp/clear image/ultra HD, doesn't work, but slow shutter wonderfully.

Hello there I'm running a costum rom on my gnex (maguro revolt) and the 4.2 camera is cool but lacks a lot of cool features like burst mode or camera effects ( I don't want to use third party camera apps) so is there a camera that can replace the stock camera or add some cool features , or maybe an s3 camera flashable zip
Thank you
Good luck with that...I haven't seen a port of any of the galaxy cameras, they're dependent on touch wiz framework and device specific drivers to function. There are some great 3rd party cameras that easily replace stock and do all the things you want. Or you could try the old miui camera (which I am partial to and works well on gnex). Download one at http://db.tt/7esIix13

There is a zip for the cm voice shutter camera somewhere on xda but you should check with the Dev of the ROM your using if it works as some ROMs don't like it and make the camera f.c

Is there an extracted camera application from cm 10 that u can post? Or a link maybe
Thanks for your help
I'm sorry,I guess I didn't understand your original question. Are you looking for the cyanogenmod version of the 4.2 camera? Because, it seems to have all the features you want.
Edit: here's one from yesterday's nightly. Push it to /system/app and fix permissions to match other files. Since your ROM is at least partially based on cm, you shouldn't need any other files. You can install right along side the stock camera. Be aware that cm camera had no photosphere. http://db.tt/Ns24GuyZ
Your first answer was quite helpful but I need a camera which is stable and fast and has cool features, a cm 10 camera would be okay.however if u can provide me a link from which I can flash, I would be thankful
Gotcha...here's a flashable zip of the same apk: http://db.tt/bUC4ps9L
Basically, every time I install ANY AOSP ROM, these problems occur:
1) Proximity sensor during a call. [This has been discussed before on this thread but I've tried everything and I couldn't get it to work. I know for a fact that it isn't hardware and IS software because the proximity sensor works fine when I use the stock ROM. It's a problem with AOSP.]
2) Snapchat front camera [Whenever I use my front camera to take a video, it freezes, and then when the video is done recording it says "video cannot be played." Again, this only happens in AOSP ROMs. Touchwiz works fine.]
I REALLY hate Touchwiz based ROMs and I want AOSP but it's not usable for me if these problems occur.
If anyone can help, that'd be awesome!
Thanks in advance.
Why don't you just avoid all these issues that will probably not get fixed since they have been in existence for quite a while. Have you ever tried a TW ROM with an Aosp theme? You get complete look and feel of Aosp. Check out this theme and see for yourself http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2304251

I'm assuming that you've tried the Google Play edition ROMs? They are AOSP but offer much less customization than, say.. CM, Pac-man, etc. Lack of built-in customization options can easily be remedied though by using xposed GravityBox and other nifty modules.

I have tried Google Play edition ROMs, but the customization wasn't enough for me. I'm not familiar with xposed GravityBox, but I'll check it out and I'll see what I find! What exactly does it do?

I came a cross a couple of similar threads where some developers actually ported the Sense camera to GPE ROMs but they are fairly old (4.4.3) threads and the Sense camera versions are old too. I am running the latest Android Lollipop GPE (5.0.1) and I am looking to install and use the latest Sense camera on it if at all possible since the Google Camera app does not utilize the duo-focus feature AFAIK and the pictures do look much better and more crisp on the Sense side, so do you guys know if that is available/possible at the moment?
Thank you for your time.
It's possible to have Sense Camera on GPE but the only downside is you have to install the sense gallery as well but it does not work. You'll need to disable google camera before the pictures that you taken with the sense camera can be seen.
Perhaps, developer who doing SkyDragon firmware, could to do this. I will hope he can to do...

I've installed this and the Image Preview on the bottom right doesn't seem to work. Any luck on that? I want to be able to open the image after taking a picture, but I'd have to exit the app and open with QuickPic or something.

that preview uses the standard HTC Gallary app. (you can get it from play store)
i never use Gallary (only QuickPic) so i disabled it a while back but then also realised that i lost the preview pic.
very reluctantly i have enabled it again.
if anyone knows how to use QuickPic for that preview that would be great...
Conscise: PixelMaster Camera on AOSP ROM doesn't show the 'Manual Mode' feature. Need app hack/trick/workaround.
Detailed:
Hey guys, just flashed the Slim ROM for our Z008 and I was delighted to see that ZenUI apps work on AOSP (some manufacturers like to block it) after I downloaded the PixelMaster Camera apk from the ZenFone blog.
However, the main feature that I love about our camera, the manual mode seems to not appear in the camera (unlike in stock ROM). And a line on the blog post says "Features subject to hardware/software limitations."
Now we know that's not the case so I'm guessing it's a driver issue or something since the ROM is still in beta.
Can we think of a workaround or a hack/trick or a build.prop edit or something like that to make the camera app think we have the required hardware/software?
Thank you very very much. [emoji1]

Where to find stock LG camera app for non-LG ROMs, which has lots of features?
Namely, I have installed Cyanogen 5.1, need help.
Thanks.
There isn't a version. The stock camera will only work on stock ROMs.

Thanks,
SO whats gonna be the next best thing? I'm using stock google camera app but missing instant HDR and it seeme like picture quality (in terms of color balances) is not that great and camera is much slower.
I might be wrong, but there IS an LG camera app for cm based roms. You still don't have the great image quality, since the drivers are closed source. But you do get the camera software. I don't remember on which ROM thread the app is located, but I would start on the CM13 and CM12 threads.

Check the CM 13 thread, there's Dev on a cagers app that with quality and features of the G4, still buggy at present as in early stages of dev.

Noting in CM13 thread, but is pointless as you get worse pictures than using any normal cagers app.

Laser Af isnt working

It doesn't work on the g4 snap camera v3. In the older version it works but pics won't get saved with flash.
That's because it's closed source.
Follow the thread, maybe codeworkx will find a solution.
It's all fixed now
