When I try to set the Wallpaper in the Settings -> Display -> Screen display -> lock screen wallpaper it doesn't launch the "Wallpaper Gallery" , it just shows a list of file choosers eg Astro, Gallery...
Where are the stock Wallpapers and is the above correct?
Instead, go to your home screen, HIT the MENU Key and select Wallpaper. From there you will be able to see Wallpaper gallery.

this is just for the home screen wallpaper right, I would like to change the "Lock screen"
Yes, I think this is a bug. The lock screen wallpaper chooser doesn't invoke the wallpaper gallery activity.
Here is a workaround:
The stock wallpapers are stored in TwWallpaperChooser.apk. You can download it and extract the wallpapers onto the sdcard, then use gallery to configure the lock screen wallpaper:
Download TwWallpaperChooser.apk off of the device to your computer using command:
adb pull /system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk .
Or if you don't have Android SDK installed, install a file manager like Astro on the phone and copy /system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk to /sdcard, then download it to your PC via USB.
Open TwWallpaperChooser.apk as a zip archive
Extract res/drawable-hdpi/
Delete thumbnail images (files <90KB)
Create directory /sdcard/wallpaper on the phone
Copy the remaining full-size images files to /sdcard/wallpaper/ using USB mount (do not use adb push)
Go to Settings -> Display -> Screen display -> Lock screen -> Wallpaper -> Gallery, select the wallpaper you want, click Save. Done!
I liked the transparent lockscreen on the Galaxy 1.
Is there any way to make the lockscreen transparent on the Galaxy 2 (without an app?)
I know about widget lock but I like the Samsung style lockscreen.
How do I get back the original lock screen..I changed it to a new one, need to revert back..
I guess if its a bug , perhaps I'll report this to samsung.
I wonder how responsive they are?

Just found that when the we set the phone's wallpaper to the one as the original lock screen wallpaper, a option pops up asking if the lock screen wallpaper needs to be changed to the same. Once you click yes, bingo you get your original wallpaper..
I've now restored my original (factory set) lock screen wallpaper!
My lockscreen appears to have disappeared entirely. Not sure if I've accidentally disabled it in my travels, but has anyone else had the same problem?
Yes if you wanna choose a wallpaper for lock screen then the wallpaper gallery doesn't show up. It's definitely a bug. But there is a way. Try to set a wall for Homescreen but not lockscreen, Wallpaper gallery will show up, choose a picture, now set it on Portrait mode, not Landscape mode, Set, then you will be asked if you wanna choose it for Lockscreen also. But don't check the 'Don't ask again' box.
This bug should be fixed in next firmware update anyway.
Regards.
Hi guys. I got a quick question about this.
I like the way the stock lockscreen unlocks. ( By dragging anywhere)
However, I don't like the size of the clock and the date.
Is there a way to change the font size of the clock and the date and keeping the way it unlocks?
I tried using WidgetLocker, but it changes the way the screen unlocks.
If there is a solution to it, please let me know. I use ADW Ex.
Thank you.
I can change mine no problem independently of the homescreen. I'm on KF1
Settings>Display>Screen Display>Lock Screen
Thank you. But that gives the option only to change the clock location. Or the wallpaper.
If I want to change the font, it will change the whole phone fonts.
Isn't there another way? Maybe using ADW Ex?
Thank you for the tip anyway.
Hi,
I have absolutely no problem with setting the lockscreen wallpaper.
Going to display/screen display/lockscreen then wallpaper. It brings up gallery. After installing a file manager the popup menu shows different options to search the wallpaper, but gallery is also listed there.

Which ROM version do you have? XWKE2 definitely does not bring up a gallery from settings/display/screen display/lockscreen/wallpaper.
Edit: Nevermind, I can see the gallery option now. The issue is gone...

I've just downloaded this and have no idea how to get it to work, it says to long press on home screen and select widgets, but it doesn't have that option. Not supported for ICS??

Obviously not tried this with beautiful widgets. Their widgets do not show up in app draw. Only way to get them to work is 'long-pressing' home screen, which we know doesn't give a widget option in ICS.
As far as I'm aware, you would need a custom launcher which has long-press home screen for widgets option. Not worth it imo. I uninstalled my BeautifulWidgets App within 10 minutes of paying 10p for it yesterday, not wasting that kind of money!

You sometimes have to reboot for widgets to appear in the app drawer... You guys really take this stuff personally LMFAO
Thanks for calling tech support, have you tried turning it off and on again?
Lol, about half the widgets I've downloaded required a reboot to show up in the app drawer...when something doesn't work right, reboot.
A question, when I go in my widget setting to try and change it as I want to change something, I go into settings -> general and it force closes on me, I'm trying to get the black squares to disappear for the Ice Cream Sandwich Super Clock skin by a person named Tama-Chan.
If you can't do it using the app, is there any way to edit a current skin? I just want to remove the black squares and change the font to Roboto to match the ICS font? Any guidance would be much appreciated!

There was an update this morning that mentioned ics compatibility so maybe you can now edit preferences for a widget properly or you could try this:
I did it by removing and re-adding the widget. When you re-add it you get a dialogue asking you what settings you want to use which works.

Well, I had an idea of how I might be able to help you if you use Apex. It didn't work. Instead I found a shortcut to a little CM easter egg. At least I've never seen it or heard it mentioned...
With Apex, long press on the home screen. Tap "Select Shortcut", then "Activities", Scroll down to "Settings" and click the arrow to expand it into a list. Scroll to "CIDCircus" and select it. You'll have to remember where on your home screen you created the shortcut, because it has no icon, so it is basically invisible. But then click it.
I'll keep looking around to see if I can help you, but if you want a third party way to do it I highly recommend Profile Scheduler. There is a free version you could use to see if you like it. It doesn't do the app groups, but I've never used that functionality so I don't miss it.
Edit: Just found out how to directly access that easter egg. Maybe this was already known: In System Settings > About Phone > CyanogenMod version tap it over an over like the normal android easter eggs, then long press on the logo after.
I've been trying to find a way to change the lockscreen wallpaper (not one of the lame preinstalled ones) to no avail.
I know how to access the option but I want to be able to select one of my own and the only 2 options I get are to use either Travel wallpapers or Wallpapers. Neither of these allows me to select my own images, just the default preinstalled 6 or so.
i downloaded quickpic hoping it would create an association when opening the lock screen wallpaper changer , to no avail.
This is really getting annoying

The 2 methods I posted are the standard. Both methods not working would be highly unlikely to be a hardware or software issue and would lean towards user error.
Can you go through the steps you attempted when going into QuickPic to set Wallpaper for let's say Lock screen so I can see where the failure is occurring

Prior to the above, can you go into Applications

Try the above options I mentioned in my earlier post.
Ive tried multiple times...seems as if the file association or executable for lock screen wallpaper no longer exsists.
Im wondering if one of the pic apps i downloaded has something to do with it.
i just went into app manager and reset all preferences. That brought back the option.
I want to thank everyone on here for the replies over the last two days on my other questions.
One thing I want is to get DashClock as the default lock screen, but I can only get it to the "screen on the right of my normal launch screen" and am unable to delete the default lock screen and make DashClock take over the "one on the left" that is the default.
Has anyone gotten DashClock to work properly with the new HTC One, and if so, please tell me how.
Thank you all,
I haven't been able to figure out how to get a different widget on the "main" homescreen, either. I was able to swipe to the left (to go right) and place a widget on that homescreen, but no way to change the default that I can see.

Not sure I understand your issue. You can remove the default widget(s) on the device by simply pressing and holding, then dragging them off the screen. You can also modify the home screens in Settings --> Personalize --> Manage Home Screen Pages. You can switch which screen is "home" and even remove a whole screen.
As far as adding apps/widgets/homescreens, just press and hold a blank space on the screen and utilize the dropdown menu.
I have Dashclock running just fine on my M8, and use it for Daydream. Only issue I don't like is that to get it to Daydream horizontally, I have to start Daydream manually with the phone horizontal. Wish it would autosense that.

Like everyone else is stating, we can add DashClock to the right, move, edit and remove the DashClock lock widget screen, but it is always to the right of the "home lock screen" thus if I want to see it I need to swipe from the very top of the lock screen to see what is to the right of it.
The "home lock screen" is unable to be "removed' since the "remove" button is greyed out for that, I can only "edit". When I want to remove or edit the DashClock lock screen both the "edit" and "remove" are available, but not on the default lock screen widget.
No one else has bene able to get DashClock on the main lock screen because I can't drag DashClock to the left, and I can't drag the home screen lock widget to the right, even though I can see both when I have DashClock "held down" to move, it just won't go to the left of the defaul "home lock screen" to then make DashClock the default view.

I still can't remove the main widget OR get the Dashclock to become the main widget "on the left".

Well I bit the bullet and bought "Widget Locker" just so I could get a proper lock screen. Bull**** I have to pay $2.99 to get my lock screen up.
You normally have to go to Settings>Security and allow widgets first, then you can add a new one and delete the original (at least that's how you do it on the Nexus 5)

Eddy, thank you for the reply but clearly you haven't read a single thing on this thread. Anyone can add as many widgets as they want, but they can't delete the default one on the home screen, so we are stuck with it because the "remove" is greyed out for the default. I can have DashClock widget to the right of my main one, but that does no one any good.
It is impossible to remove the default widget, or move it to a position where it is not the default. The only way to get DashClock widget properly installed on this ever increasingly ****ty phone is to pay $2.99 for a program to unlock it.

this is the product of the f***ing Standard clock on the 1st Lockscreen page. You cannot delete it, you cannot move it to 2nd Screen, so to have a e.g. nice Dashclock, you always have to Swipe right or left.
Dirty solution atm for me is NiLS with Floating Panel on stock lockscreen. I would use the AOSP lockscreen with Dashclock (running ViperOne), but it's lacking off DoubleTap2Wake function. And after 1 week, it's a thing Icannot live without anymore
