my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Maguro and it wouldn't power up.
Here's what happened:
1. I think it started when i was transferring files from my phone to pc, then a notification came up in the PC (Windows XP) over voltage detected.
2. Charged it through the outlet
3. Next morning, battery drained but i was still able to start it up and get to the home screen for a couple of seconds.
4. then i accidentally entered fastboot, (volume + power buttons down), didn't even know what it was till now, i just selected the "START" then pressed the power button.
Info that might help:
1. charger is working, tried on other phone
2. when i connect it to the PC i get a notification "OMAP 4400" detected then tries to search for a driver
3. When it is connected it shows the lightning bolt, then the battery animation for a couple of seconds then its gone.
4. Removed the battery (i read that, that's how you get out of the fastboot mode)
Update:
Still able to get to the home screen a while ago. I still do not know if its the USB hardware or just the battery. will try another battery when my friend gets back.
Solved the problem:
checked the cable, and its more of a connection problem. used another USB-microUSB cable (not provided w/ the phone).
Hope it helps other people having the same problem.
Guys, this phone really makes me sick. The phone doesn't want to turn on at all. If I hold volume up + power or Volume down + power or hold all of them together, nothing happens. If I connect the phone to the charger, the red light comes on and stays for a while, then it goes off. If I connect the phone to the pc, it sees it as QHSUSB_DLOAD and after it installs the drivers, it sees it as SEMC FLASHING DEVICE. I tried the flashtool, but it sees is as a 2011 model with debugging off. Help me out please

Hi,
try to find out if hardware or software failure.
So, try to boot into download or recovery mode by holding down
download mode: POWER BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN + HOME BUTTON
recovery mode: POWER BUTTON + VOLUME UP + HOME BUTTON
exit with same shortcuts.
If no download or recovery mode booted up and battery is full, oh oh oh.
Power button
Try to hold the power button longer, for like 30 - 45 seconds. My tab did this too and I was about to send it back, but then I tried this and it worked.
