[Q] landacape lock and home screens? how to? - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im on ANK2 and rooted and Wanamized.
How can I auto rotate my lock and home screens to landscape..??
thanks

There should already be a setting in wanam xposed to do rotate lock screen. If there isn't, try GravityBox[KK]

Sorry, I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
But, if you go to Settings -> Buttons & Inputs -> Easy Wake Mode, you have the option of enabling/disabling.

I've disabled easy mode now. But when I press home key while widget locker is active it unlocks the phone...anyway to stop home key from responding while widget locker is active?

Ah, gotcha, I get what you mean now.
Unfortunately, I can't figure it out either. One of the menus in Widgetlocker says it has no control over what buttons wake the device because that is controlled by the Android OS, so it doesn't look like that can be changed.
However, I do recall that in VillainTweaks for VillainRom there is an option for disabling the home button for the lockscreen. I don't know if you're on VillainRom or if that option will work for Widgetlocker or just the stock lockscreen, but that might be helpful.

Screen rotation in 4.2

I don't understand why if i disable screen rotation no apps (ie gogle maps) will rotate!!! Is it possible to have the screen rotation in the apps and not in the home screen?? Is it a bug in 4.2?? Before the upgrade my home screen did not rotate but the apps did. >Why now is different?
Thank you
If you turn auto rotation off, then you won't see auto rotation(obviously)... That is supposed to happen, and always have(that is what that setting is for).
Your homescreen, however, is not supposed to rotate at all, and if it does, I'd have to ask you, whether you are actually running the stock rom or some custom rom, and whether, you are using a different launcher? All of these things could course your homescreen to rotate(on purpose obviously).

Actually I'm using a custom ROM and no launchers but it's almost like a stock, it's the Rigel R6. Sorry but the screen rotation added to the 4.2 what is supposed to do? Before 4.2 there was no screen rotation but the apps were rotating.. now there is the screen rotation and also the Home screen rotate
What is the "stock behavior" of the screen rotation???
Thank you so much!!

there is absolutely no change in screen rotation pattern in 4.2 as far as Galaxy Nexus is concerned.
4.2 only brought changes in screen rotation for tablets. Phones have exactly same behavior as they had in 4.1.2

Yea then it is definitely your rom... This has nothing to do with android as such.
Also it seems like you are confusing a couple of things, but anyway nothing changed in the screen rotation behaviour. Meaning that you will have to ask in the ROM thread if there is a setting specifically for homescreen rotation, and otherwise you will just have to use another rom.

Landscape Rotation Lock Not Working?

Hey, I wanted to check if anyone else had luck locking rotation in landscape? Seems I cannot do it. Every time I do disable rotation it changes to portrait and sticks with that - any ideas?
Yes, same here. I just used the widget, rotation lock from google play and it works. Don't use the LG one. Just put the widget on your homescreen and you can lock the rotation in portrait or landscape.

What specific widget do you use? None of the ones I've tried works, they just return it to portrait mode and lock it in that orientation.
You can enable rotation in the lock screen by going to settings -> Display -> Rotation -> And checking enable auto-rotation and rotate the lock screen.

This only locks it in portrait mode for whatever reason, even if you hit the toggle while in landscape, it will just return to portrait and then lock.

Thanks, this works, although not flawlessly as it kinda freaks out and switches back and forth between the orientations before locking.

When disabled it will lock it into portrait because that is the default orientation of the tablet. That is a feature that is to be expected. But when enabled you can freely rotate the lock screen any way that you have the main screen set to be able to rotate to.

I understand that, but this leads to a problem when I am laying on my side in bed and watching something in landscape, mainly with the YouTube app, as it thinks I'm using the tablet in portrait mode.
+1
To be honest I have just bought my G Pad so it s not on it yet.
But I have used the same program on phones and tablets before without problems.
It locked my homescreen in portrait whenever i wanted it too.

[Q] Auto-rotate issues

Having problems with getting my tablet into landscape mode when the hardware buttons are on the top. This makes it not possible to type in landscape mode when using some cases (Poetic slimline for example). It rotates in all other directions fine, including landscape mode with hardware buttons on bottom.
I tried it in both touch wiz launcher and apex launcher with the same issue.
I am rooted running a stock rom. I am using exposed framework only with nothing else custom. There was a link that talked about something similar happening on the lock screen. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563494
Anyone run into a similar issue? Hoping there is a fix!

I saw that but assumed it was specific to the "lock screen". If it works, that would be great. I'll try it and see if it resolves my issue.

Looks like I misread that post.
Wanam Xposed is still what you want, but you'll need to go to System > Enable all rotation angles

Thanks for your response. I installed Wanam without issue. Enabled all rotation angles. Rebooted. No luck. Still does not go to landscape mode with hardware button on top. All other angles work. I check the option for lock screen rotation and that doesn't work either. :crying: Anything else I can try??
Disregard above. Gravity box has options under lock screen and display tweaks that resolve this!

Disable HTC 10 Lockscreen

Is there a way to disable the HTC10 lock screen with the weather and all? I want to get something simple like Cyanogen mod

if you are on either then you can remove htc lock and weather apps and it would default back to AOSP lock screen which is neat

Hijacking this thread, since you seem to have experience with using this debloater app. When I tried it I couldn't get the stock lock screen while having any password and fingerprint sensor protection. It worked fine with just the swipe to unlock, but if I enabled any secure unlock it would just bypass the lockscreen. Any solutions to this?

whenever you remove htc lockscreen even if the fingerprint scanner it doesn't you would need to set your fp again... thats what we had to do...
security and set fingerprint again...
not sure if debloater does in any other way...

It's still the same for me. If I enable any kind of security (PIN or fp or both) the phone just bypasses the lockscreen. Really weird. Do I have to disable anything else other than the HtcLockScreen.apk?

Download any Terminal Emulator from PlayStore.
Open it and type:
su (allow root access)
pm hide com.htc.lockscreen
But it will disable WakeGestures too.
If you want them back check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/themes/xposed-htc-media-gestures-t3486376/page1
Thanks and with terminal emulator from phone or worked.
But after the reboot it shows no lock screen...I mean...neither the Marshmallow default one, which I thought should be there after disabling HTC lock screen.
So there's really no way to have a STOCK lock screen instead of the HTC one?

I'm not sure what went wrong on your side.
Maybe try to disable and re-enable the lockscreen in security settings.

No, I mean, the stock lock screen is there, but isn't showed when I tap on the home screen like with HTC lock screen...the only way to show the stock lock screen is to press the power button... if I touch the home button the phone immediately go to home screen, when fingerprint is recognised...
This is how Nexus/pixel phone works?
If yes...well... everything is normal then...and I've done my job right with terminal...

Ah okay, now I understand what you mean.
This is one advantage of the default lockscreen. Unlocking the phone with fingerprint is much faster.
You have three options:
- Use power button to see the lockscreen
- Use double tap to wake to see the lockscreen (you need xposed for this)
- Use GravityBox. You can change how the lockscreen react after you use the homebutton (unlock the phone directly or just show the lockscreen - you need xposed for this)

For information, double tap to see lock screen...you know the module? I already have xposed with N-Ify module active...
Gravity box i know the module but never installed by now.
I saw that with Nexus 5X works the same, fingerprint unlock immediately, touch the sensor only vibrate (if fingerprint not recognized), power button show lockscreen.
