[Q] i9195 can't send texts or make calls, but can use mobile data. - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently flashed CM10.2 on my i9195, before upgrading to a CM12 nightly. On neither of these was I able to send texts or make calls, though the network was able to register and I had access to mobile internet. So it showed the network name at the top, it said I had full signal, but all texts were unable to send, and calls end immediately before even ringing.
I've just flashed a stock firmware, here is what it says in about device:
version: 4.4.2
Baseband: I9195XXUCNK4
Kernel: 3.4.0-3330432
[email protected] #1
Fri Nov 21 23:51:48 KST 2014
Build: KOT49H.I9195XXUCNK4
Basically on the stock firmware I have the exact same issue. Any help would be much appreciated.
The phone is unlocked.

[Q] Restoring Samsung galaxy Nexus to factory with no backup files

Hello,
My wife broke her iphone 4s so she bought this samsung galaxy nexus off of someone on facebook. The phone is working fine but there are just some little things that are kinda annoying. The phone doesn't have the factory text messaging app and it doesn't show up even after we did a factory reset. So we were kinda just dealing with that, but when we tried to do the verison backup assistance and it wasn't on the phone and we couldn't find it on the app store I called verizon and they said it was supposed to be in the factory software and there is no way to download it. So I asked what the phones info was supposed to be and this is what she said.
build number: JDQ39
Baseband version: I151.10 V.FK01 / I515.FK02
kernel version: 3.0.31-g9f818de
This is what the phone currently is
build number: KOT49E
Baseband version: I151.10 V.FK01 / I515.FK02
Kernel version: 3.0.72-ShinyROM-g7a04904 [email protected] #5
I just want to put it back to factory and from what I've read all I need to do is download the tool kit and it will restore it to factory software and unroot it?
Also since she had an iphone before she has had problems with people with iphones replying to her text messages. We already got on her iphone and shut the imessages off. is there anything else we are suppose to do?
Thank you in advance for all the help

Try the Nexus Root Toolkit. There is a flash stock and Unroot bitton that will do it for you.
As for the Iphone, I've heard that it can take up to a day for the messages to stop routing through iMessage. Has it been that long for you?

[Q] Bell Note 2 Unrooting Error

Hey everyone,
I'm currently trying to figure out a strange error with my SGH-L317M (Bell Note 2) after I unrooted the device. After downloading I317MVLUCMK5_I317MOYACMK5_HOME.tar.md5 I used Odin v3.09 to unroot the device in order to sell it. The process went fine (no errors) but when I turn the device on it contains Rogers bloatware instead of Bell's usual applications.
Also when I insert my sim card into the device to make sure it works I can't get a data connection. However, I did the same process on another note 2 and it worked fine (Bell bloatware was intact and my data works).
The phone can receive and send phone calls, messages etc. Just the data does not work.
Details are:
Android Version 4.3
Baseband Version l317MVLUCMK5
Kernel Version 3.0.31-2156641
[email protected]#1
Tue Nov 19 17:04:56 KST 2013
Build Number JSS15J.l317MVLUCMK5
Any help would be appreciated as I'm completely lost. I've tried wiping the data and repeating the Odin process with different md5 files but haven't had any luck with a different outcome.

No 4G/3G/Data or Network Most Times

Beginning of the month, the rom I had installed had updated. The next morning I awoke to no cellular signal whatsoever. No bars. No network. Nothing. Unrooted/Odin flash device and went to stock ND8 and still have the same problem. I do get signal sometimes...like when Im traveling on the Interstate I get 4G. I do connect to the network sometimes, but mostly end up roaming. Sometimes i get EHRPD and MIP errors. Sprint has been giving me the run around by updating PRL and Profile many times, but no luck. Many ## codes, but nothing. I know I'm in a 4G area but my phone just wont connect to it or either 3G. It barely connects to the Sprint network. Phone calls have been interesting. Many drop. Any solutions as to how to fix this before I throw it thru my nearest Sprint store with there run-arounds. MANY THANKS! (Even if you dont have any idea how to fix this, thanks for just reading it. You bring my stress down and I appreciate it.)

Make sure you are on stock and dial ##72786#. That will reset your DSA and reprovision your device to Sprints network. It would help if you tell us what ROM you were originally on?

Unroot, take Note 2 back to stock

I need some guidance.
I rooted my wife's phone when she first got it a couple of years ago and it hasn't really received many updates since then. Lately she's been saying that the phone is sluggish. I was thinking about unrooting and just doing a factory reset and going back to stock.
I need guidance on how to unroot and go back to stock having the following systemn info:
Model: SPH-L900
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband Version: L900VPAMC2
Kernel version: 3.0.31-903705
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Jan 29 17:10:38 KST 2013
I have watched the videos using Odin and a tar file. I downloaded Odin but I have no idea what tar file to use with my baseband version.
Thanks for your help.

So I take it if you are in this section of the forum you are using a SPRINT Galaxy Note II which has the model number SPH-L900. Before you follow any of my advice, please check under "settings" "about this device" to make sure that is the case.
I recently unrooted my phone to upgrade to KitKat, and that video has correct instructions, but one link is broken, which is the tar file for the OS. Just go to samsung-updates and search for that model (SPH-L900) number and download the file (be warned, the file download is excruciatingly slow), then load that file into odin. The version you want should be "L900VPUCNE2". Download that, apply it with Odin, and your phone should go to KitKat and be unrooted.
Again, be careful, back up your data and so on, because I'm not in your shoes and its possible to brick your device doing it.
Yes I do have the Sprint version that you reference.
Do you know the link to the video that you used? Since she's been rooted I never updated her firmware so she's still on 4.1.2, might be cool to update her to kit kat.

Well you can't flash any other firmware. So try flashing NH7 firmware again to see if it fixes your imei. I think you can use an app called region lock away to try to unlock NH7, but not sure
